LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Generic Adventure Game by Jezzamon 2014-05-20T09:47:00

I can't pass the first dream in either flash versions, I can only jump diagonally to the right, not left, so I cannot reach the girl on the platform. Gave yo after a few minutes. Nice concept, but I want to know what happens! Can someone make a you tube let's play? I already feel attached to the slime. Great characterization :P

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Sun Saviors by HeuGamer 2014-08-26T16:38:00

Enjoyable game mechanic. Would have been more fun if it had flashy particle effects and was controlled by a mouse. This game could definitely be built upon to become a contender for geometry wars etc. Fun arcade with flashyness. The soundtrack was alright, but the sound effects were painful to listen to. Consider using sound effects that "fit in" with the music so it sounds coherent.

Tribe of the Giant by MerlijnVH 2014-08-31T13:48:00

My unity web plugin crashes each time I open this game. it is not unique to your game, it happens to some others too.

Unto Her As She To You by Calahagus 2014-08-31T12:48:00

Very nice look, and nice concept, but really hard to get my head around this puzzle. I didn't manage to get the good ending. I got too frustrated with the mechanics as they were new to me.

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-31T14:18:00

wonderful art style! Simple yet effective.

Universal Love by sbarrio 2014-08-31T12:27:00

First game I have played to completion, because it was fun and functioned 100%. I love this simple concept with love vs rockets and the mentality in it, would be fun as a party game with people and AI in same game.

Escape From Animal Forest by Skyfish 2014-08-26T17:28:00

ZNCatlaw: We've added a linux download now! Hopefully it will work, never done a linux build before. Crossing fingers that Unity does its magic :)

Guidance by Reverend Speed 2014-08-26T16:29:00

Nice concept, I haven't seen this game mechanic before and it was refreshing. Shame you couldn't get further on it in the time allotted. Maybe you can use it another time, though.

Back and forth by suppi 2014-08-26T16:05:00

I couldn't figure out what to do, and got stuck down on the bottom with many chickens. Would have been funny if the game was about chickens pecking order or something.

Convergence by leafarz 2014-08-31T11:58:00

I couldn't get past level 2 alone, my player1 just saw all black and I couldn't navigate over the little jump to the circle since I couldn't tell where I was located.

** by ethankennerly 2014-08-31T16:10:00

Really good result you got here, I played with my touch screen and it felt nice. It could use more visual effects to make the experience superb in feel too.

DISPARATE by Hoopsnake Games 2014-08-26T16:24:00

The gameplay is very fun, good submission! I think you could have taken the wacky colour scheme further and capitalized on the graphics more to make the game better overall, the starry background is fun and the whole thing could have been in a sort of neon disco sort of mood, as it is, it looks a bit placeholder-ish instead.

Boing! by dweebster 2014-08-31T13:56:00

Silly little game, I enjoyed it for what it was. It was a little frustrating though, since the controls are strange, at first I thought I was controlling gravity. Once I get used to it, I completed it after a while.

Day Dream by Takashy87 2014-08-31T14:06:00

I got stuck as i puked rainbows on the snake boss. The rock golem guys seemed to turn invisible, but I managed to shoot them or maybe they dissapeared. Good for a first try, on my first try, we lost all the files and didn't finish :o :P

Danger Zones by skullum 2014-08-31T14:21:00

I can't swap worlds, because I don't have a mouse, only touchpad, wich uses 2 finger pan to scroll in browsers, but it doesn't work in game.

W4 by jpmit 2014-08-31T14:01:00

Well executed, but incredibly frustrating to play. I think you could have capitalized more on the graphics by choosing a colour theme for your graphics, and perhaps sticking a paper texture on everything, making it a "thing" that the game features a typed letter as a character.

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-08-31T13:14:00

Amazing graphics, but the gameplay gets stale fast. Challenging in the beginning, then I quickly got used to it. Still a very nice experience. good luck!

1 * 5 by eyeofbri 2014-08-31T14:32:00

I struggled playing this with my touchpad, but it worked. I like how the world is recursive, if you want to take the game further any time, the idea of an infinitely recursive world seems like something original and fresh. I heard no sound in the game, so I didn't feel much mood. I didn't know what do to, but it was enjoyable walking in a strange environment. I had no idea the worlds meant anything until I read the description. It was hard to get to the portals for each world, the button disappearing as the object moved or warped. The enter button could have had a bigger range. Good attempt, but add soundtrack/sound next time, it doubles the experience.

Connected Worlds: Filllight by FurtherForm 2014-08-26T16:09:00

I can't get past the blue screen with the black shapes on it, wasd moves the shapes around but I can't find a game in here.

Two worlds connected by ztiromoritz 2014-08-31T12:06:00

I couldn't complete it. Sudden lag (chrome) and unresponsive jump (felt delayed). Otherwise, allright.

Fairy Bash by trekapp 2014-08-31T13:02:00

Nice for first game, but I killed the fairy, the game still said I lost.

Get Physical by blindfox 2014-08-26T15:57:00

Very nice game mechanics, at the first few levels were enjoyable to speed through, then as soon as the 2 rotating squares appeared i hit a rock wall in difficulty and promptly ragequit, the physics no longer seeming to do what I wanted them to (of course, my attention was drawn to it after my many attempts) I also realized that there were limited amount of moves on this level- I found the game challenging enough as it was, let alone limiting how much i could swap gravity, made it not possible for me to complete.

The Erithacus Link by PinkNinja 2014-08-26T15:44:00

Although a sweet sentiment, I don't think a quick jam game works that well as a memory, but it fits the theme well. It needs work on the spelling. I didn't know what it was about until right at the end, and such felt confused during the game.

Micro Worlds by Vidd 2014-08-26T16:45:00

Very good, so far one of the best I have rated. The sound effects fit with the music, making the game not tiresome to listen to. The worlds literally fit together, so it suits the theme. The controls were a bit clunky, and every box was a leap of faith, camera only panning in after i was dead, but the frequent and quick spawn made up for it. I think the graphics and theme could have been better if it was skinned like a literal puzzle piece world, "fitting together".

LD33 — You are the Monster

Shut the Front Door! by xevozfighter 2015-08-29T15:41:00

I could not pick up the key? I couldn't get past the first players either.

Fishbowl by Mase 2015-08-27T15:09:00

I love the art style.

KAWAII KAIJU by little_polygon 2015-08-29T15:11:00

PEEEEEW. Pretty funny.

Some glitches in the Linux version: I had to alt-tab for every keyboard input.

Trick Parade by SimonLarsen 2015-08-29T15:04:00

I liked this quite a lot. The progressively harder Warioware-style combo system is pretty cool.

The music got old a bit fast, but other than that it pretty impressive for a jam.

Pokemen by Skyfish 2015-08-27T15:38:00

@RockhopperGames
We were not able to work on the game for the full duration of the jam (and were only 2 people) so it didn't reach our vision (as expected from ludum) I wanted the battles to be more refined with more moves (and strategy) but we couldn't make it in time. The only change in the game is that the AI gets more difficult at higher levels. If you disobey the trainer or loose a lot, the rainers get progressively more abusive. (we called this hidden value "lightness" (mood) I wanted the games finale to be about abusive trainers being the real monsters, but... time.. you know... the essence of ludum dare :P

Pokemen by Skyfish 2015-08-28T07:19:00

@SoulGame: use the direct link instead. The Unity project can bee seen as the source.

Pokemen by Skyfish 2015-08-28T07:20:00

Correction: no actions except for winning affect the mood.

Humon by Lafolie 2015-08-27T15:22:00

We made pokemen, it's similar but different :P
I'm glad I'm not the only one having fun with the theme.

13th Labor by 6DownStudios 2015-08-27T15:32:00

Very nice graphics, i love the concept, shame you didn't finish it. it is easy to control and that is nice.

I am not a Monster by PurpleApes 2015-08-29T15:17:00

The game gives you impossible things to handle. You can't dodge a projectile if it is over it is over a rock at the same time as you are.

The 74% scientifically inaccurate cheese fabrication process by SiMouth 2015-08-27T14:50:00

I can't get past the cheese cutting because it is too difficult with a touchpad.

Tiniest Assassin by biscuitdough 2015-08-27T15:16:00

I couldn't get any further than ordering.

Sticky Pudding by Headmade 2015-08-27T15:54:00

Surprisingly enjoyable considering it is a ludum dare game. The mechanic sets it apart from many of the other games an i like that. The first impression of the music was that it was very good, but it got old very fast because it seems to loop too quickly. If you want inspiration on what can be done with audio in a game like yours, look up "jelly car" (the first one) https://youtu.be/9THE-yzmCB4?t=11 it had no music, but because all the sounds were made by a dude going "boing boing" it was instantly hilarious with almost no effort, and made the theme united with the art (jelly) and the silly physics (also jelly).
The gameplay in your game is hard (as others said, very qwop), and I think it could work, but I am too impatient. I couldn't even get one meter before I got bored (but that is me, i am too impatient, especially when rating ludum games). A distance counter would have doubled my playtime probably... putting detailed art assets constantly would have quadrupled it though. That way you get to see story/art when you even just move a tiny bit. this also opens the door to telling "implied story" through the visuals. Since I didn't get very far, I don't know about if there is a story so I won't say anything more about it. Overall I liked this ludum dare game.

Billy Goat Grub by ChrisFagan 2015-08-29T14:47:00

Very good artstyle and the gameplay works well. However I would have loved to see some sort of goals. win state and loss state.

Shi by toni343 2015-08-27T14:44:00

Well rounded and well pulled off, but would have benefited greatly with some challenge or a little more plot.

Snake Strike by steve 2015-08-24T17:48:00

It's very patapon, but I like that about it. It's a good thing.

All work and no play by wijnen 2015-08-27T14:52:00

It doesn't work for me.

Who's the Monster! by TeamCosmitronique 2015-08-29T15:51:00

Great job! Aesthetics, audio and theme is spot on!

You are the muenster by AustinCaskie 2015-08-29T15:24:00

Funny idea, but really hard to away from the grates.

Invasion by Snowdrama 2015-08-29T15:03:00

It was a bit laggy. It was kind of frustrating to play sorry :l

Lecture Me by celsyum 2015-08-29T15:27:00

I don't really see how illustrating social problems makes the player a monster. Interesting entry anyway.

Programmatic Capitalism by Simon 2015-08-29T15:29:00

Could help with an explanation.
