Nice!
If it's not running you'll need the redistributables. Sorry about that.
Actually, I will put the XNA one in the zip as it's pretty uncommon.
Thanks for your comments!
Re: More to do.
I wanted to keep this as streamlined as possible. More player functionality, or at least a more interesting array of obstacles, would be definite goals if I was aiming for a more ambitious project!
Thanks again. Ambient music, 'live transforming' and some moving platforms for harder/interesting jumps are definitely features I wanted! I’ve never finished a LD before and wanted to keep it bite-size. :)
It's in the same download in the src directory.
Glad people have liked it so far!
Nice work. Could benefit from "more" but that's often the case with game jams.
Cool! Nice first foray into the world of Unity.
Cute
Nice, perhaps would be better if it was shorter and harder but maybe that's personal preference.
It's pretty cool. The physics to the blocks lets you push them around in a way you wouldn't expect from other block puzzle games, tho.
Neat!
Bit dark! I couldn't tell people were shooting at me. :) Unfinished I guess, but what's there is nice.
Took me a while to realise what to do but that's probably because I'm dumb. Good job!
Neat. Little slow paced, maybe.
It's got a cool N64 platformer vibe to it. Seems like there's a few bugs with the menus and all the little hops make it a bit of a slog in the end, but it's extremely impressive for 48 hours.
Nice, I've seen this concept before but not where you have to kill the doppleganger (well, unless you count that part in Tomb Raider...). Would like to see the idea expanded!
Nice use of the theme.
Pretty tricky!
Really cool.
That is a lot of toxic waste! I lasted 100 seconds. :x
Thanks for the feedback guys! I've sneaked in a few changes to the descriptions here and on itch.io to clarify the arrow/damage rules.
Thanks to everyone who has played it so far.
Sorry about the collision problems. I think the biggest offender is the tree's collider which is a 2x2 tile box but visually has a lot of empty space.
I'm also unhappy that when enemies bunch it's hard to knock them away because they collide with each other. :(
Nice!
Looks ace.
Nice! Super cute.
Nice work!
Really slick
Interesting stuff!
Tricky!
Hard!
Pretty cool! I managed to get a spawner going all the way home and just kind of kept it on in the background :P
Really nice. Funny, well presented, and a pretty fun game too!
Reminds me a lot of how the city is destroyed in EDF! Shame you didn't finish.
There is a lot going on!
Shame you couldn't finish it. At least you have something playable. Good luck next time!
I did it 90% first time but after that things started exploding more. Is there some fail safe so you can't damage him below 25% health at 100% buildings standing? Seemed to stop taking my bombs... But anyway, I liked it! A+ Would play again.
Neat
Nice job, esp for a first game.
It's like I never even left League of the Ancients.
I only got 77 but I had a lot of fun!
I "won"!
Cool! I got thirty or so.
Nice! A little easier to control than some of the other monster arm physics entires.
are they fish
or are they kids
Pretty cool! I like the new mechanics added each level. I played up to the wave 10 boss and, man, did he explode.
Thanks for the feedback, guys!
Ah, sorry DesignerNap. Cultists make the big cross appear on the HUD when they're close. It's a nice nod to its source material, but not helpfully highlighted in game!
Killing bystanders will create more police the next day. The idea was at the end you'd also get a score based on how many innocents died... but I didn't have time for that.
I'm a Monster, dawwwwww.
Cool idea, but a bit short ofc!
You were the monster all along.
Yay, I won. Nice game!
Chin up!
Nice idea! Would be interesting to see this with more faces or levels.
It's really hard to lose by taking her clothes off............ I guess I really am the monster.
This is better than my haircut.
I really liked this. Was a bit tricky until I realised you could eat people in front of their friends without being spotted as long as your character is behind cover, and that you could do it from above and below. Good stuff!
13,810 pts and 1,476 distance! Really satisfying stomping through the city!
Going through the red/yellow gates means you'll skip the next level, but hitting them is much harder than the level you're skipping!
No way, it's two buttons! The horn is very important!
Hey, hey! The horn is integral to the core experience!
Thanks, Jupiter Hadley!
Aw, shucks.
Thanks, everybody!
WERT Studio, it's left arrow (cursor keys) rather than left mouse button!
Nice stuff! Once it starts going it reallllly starts going!
Nice job! Struggling with the depth perception a bit. Space is big, it turns out.
Nice game! Took a few tries to grasp the controls but it's really satisfying to clear the pond once you get in the zone.
I just finished it! Was a bit lost until I found the path down to the water but it's all good. So nice looking and polished.
Dang, this is hard!
Relaxing!
Very nice! Really captured that old school vibe.
This looks so nice.
The bombs tank your time!
I scored 99. Cool game that uses both themes.
Whoa, I had to read the comments. Neat little game hidden in here!
Looks really nice. I like the way you managed to get 4 functions out of two keys!
Nice, I love a good Twine game.
Those are some nice models! I only got 300 points, which I imagine is not very good.
Grew me some crystals.
Definitely a nice job for your first jam/game! I found flying around in a circle made it quite easy, although the birds losing interest and flying off did mean you had to pay attention. Good job, and good look with jams in the future.
Everyone is a vampire!
Cool idea! I am absolutely rubbish (sorry) at this. Get my little pile going and then I'm taken out by a stray pizza box.
This looks (and plays!) really nice.
Nice! Lots of charm. Shame your characters moves so slow, though!
Nice work! Surprisingly difficult!
Nice idea, but I cannot attack consistently at all...
Nice, feels very zen.
Nice. I stretched myself to a humble 175 pts.
I shifted myself into a corner!
Nice job.
dang, i think i lost even tho i guessed right because other suspects took priority. oh well, neat game! nice graphics and idea.
I like it! Web player kinda bugged out and let me move my mouse off the window after i tabbed... but i liked it enough to download it and complete it there instead :)
Science achieved!
Ahh! Really nice. I was kind of lost at first but that's probably my fault for being an idiot. Once it clicked it was super fun.
All hail the monster!
Nice, a little on the easy side.
Nice! Although I seem to be able to go off the side of the screen infinitely, which also avoids the laser beams!
Nice stuff!
A bit too easy, I guess.
Good work. It has some issues, but learning from it will make you stronger!
Pretty hard!
I'm not quite sure what just happened.
Pretty ambitious!
Faster!
Nice job!
I think I goofed and ended up with just grey emitters but needing a ton for my upgrades :(((
Good game tho!
Great. Not finished but shows promise.
I brought Grandma's Pumpkin Cart to her house, too :P
Whoa
Looks nice.
Pretty nice! Camera relative controls can trip you up in places but nothing major!
Not quite sure why I'm dying :(((
Cool idea tho! Nice art.
Nice!
Well, I am rubbish at this! As soon as I need to rotate I press all the buttons wrong. But it's nice! Well done.
Pretty neat idea. I enjoyed lasering people with a spoky desk lamp.
Love the writing!
I got killed by a drone in the red level. Saddest of times.
Nice concept! I got a few levels in but didn't finish.
I didn't know what to do once I got to the big cross but I assume that was the end! Very fun, well done.
Neat! Congrats on finishing.
Glad people like it!
Oh yeah, I should have not have "humour" as a category...
Weird!
When Slime Rancher goes bad! I really enjoyed this.
Pretty funny.
I think a guy being sacrificed by aliens fits the theme :)
Pretty neat!
Ah, I thought I had to throw things off!
Really fun game as always.
Wish the exit and the player were a little bit more distinct as I sometimes confused the two :pray_tone1:
Very nice. Think I threw a few too many ducks at grandpa, tho!
Nice job finishing a game for the jam. Got a black screen trying to look at the credits :(
Really nice presentation! I managed 2720.
Yeah, it's a bit simple but it's just a 2 day game and the world is on fire. Don't take it to heart!
good job. found myself confused sometimes when the level wouldn't advance upwards (because i cannot read instructions)
I really love the idea! Although the timer is a bit punishing (read: I am bad). I think you could come up with some really cool if you kept working on this.
Thanks. The cross just checks if you're stacked up too high. So if there is a block in the X when it tires to spawn a shape it's game over (similar to Puyo Puyo).
Diamonds are wildcard blocks. So if you have green-diamond-green it'll act as a green for the purpose of a match.
Very cute game! I didn't read the controls like a dummy so I wasn't sure how to throw medicine on level 2 but that's my fault. Good job!
Yeah that might help. Or for clicking on the hotbar to not care if something is selected? It's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, though!
neat!
Pretty fun! Glad it didn't mind all my 1x1 windows getting rotated 90 degrees!
Cool idea for sure! Would love to see more collateral damage / mayhem
Really nice idea
Fun little game. I think it would be nice to see more obstacle types but I get that it's a jam!
This is soooooo impressive for 3 days work. Really fun writing, art, music, gameplay... I would pay for this, lol. Too bad I have two left feet when it comes to this kind of game, but at least I can play to the end despite messing it all up!
Pretty neat. I got stuck on the first level with the portal high in the air but it was fun.
A butt pooping an egg is not the smooth talker one might expect!
Nice! First time I was way too slow but second I managed to throw down enough to get started. My layout is really inefficient and I'm out of room. Waiting for the inevitable! :) Untitled-1.jpg Super fun, really nice take on the theme.
I've played a few platformers where you control two characters at once so I kind of knew the basic tricks. Still find it quite hard! I guess the 2nd genre is the lava moving to the rhythm. Nice job.
I did it!
Honestly, I did have to go back and read the tutorial (although I didn't cheat!). Very trippy. Shame sometimes your collider scuffs up against walls which can make things harder to navigate. Very creative use of the theme.
I tried to wrap around the course and went out of bounds!
Congrats on finishing. Shows a lot of promise
bmmmmmmmm, bmmmmmmmmm, bmmmmmmm!
Really nice use of the theme. Works surprisingly well!
Man, and I thought I was pretty good at typing!
I tried the html version. I got white screen halfway through level 3, but it might be unrelated as youtube crashed too and my computer has issues running basically anything! It's a fun little game, I like the setup, it's very cute.
I'm very bad at this game, but I love the idea and execution.
Thanks for the feedback so far! I'm glad you're (mostly) enjoying it.
Yeah, car controls are a bit weird. Honestly once things stopped randomly clipping through the walls or doing unintentional drift physics I decided not to touch it again! I think there needs to be some difficulty in navigating the car for the shtick, but it shouldn't manifest itself in a frustrating way. :crying_cat_face:
@tifu Damn, you were so close to the end! Yeah, that level isn't great because you need to reverse back out. I wish I had added a new enemy type (searchlights or something) rather than that wonky level design.
I'm so sorry, @Vinterskog. If I had used the default unity controls it would have been fine but I hardcoded them. Wasn't thinking. :(
@polegar thanks! Glad it arrived at a good time!
I agree with the comments about the controls. It being fiddly to control is partly the point, but this should be achieved through you being in a car, and not the car itself handling like a hot mess!
Nice! I could really see this being expanded into a full game. It'd be great if the pieces also fell so you could create combos and the layouts didn't have existing matches. I did seem to get a level with no key one time, though, but whatever. It's a game jam! Really nice work.
I also had some trouble finding the house but it makes sense now! Cool entry.
Well done on finishing.
Damn, I got stabbed up!
Interesting take. Very well written!
Oops! Turns out Ctrl+W closes windows in Chrome!
Nice entry.
