There's no punishment for just accusing everyone. Even though I killed no-one it still had the 'but who is really the murderer' ending.

Hey - don't worry about the extent of what you produced or where you're at now - game development is very hard and turning something around in two days is extremely demanding for anyone. The important thing is that you get something out of the LD when you do it - and having that deadline and pushing something out for other people to play is extremely helpful to allow you to learn as a game developer.

I actually enjoyed speaking to everyone and try my best to find the murderer on the first try ^^ And I don't know why but I found the background so cool !

I also think that you did a great job with the music, it was simple and discret enought to keep it on without needing to shut if off after 20 sec because it was so anoying (like many games here x) ). (sorry for my bad english, I'm french)

I like the idea and enjoyed this a lot more than other more polished entries. Good work and if you give it another go you'll be amazed on how much better you'll get betweem each jam. =)

Well done on finishing.

The movement is a bit weird and you don't have to kill anyone as said above.. but thx for uploading ^^

Hey, I see this is your first LD entry, welcome!

As with @Olivier Millochau, I noticed that the parallax scrolling of the background was done very well. It'd be nice to see the bodies fall when shot so I know they're dead and you have to add a boolean to your code to be able to interact with them. An isDead' boolean and then can interact with them. The platforms were a bit wonky, because you could hit the side and still jump up. I think you should make the character jump higher and raise the platforms so you cant go through them while walking.

Thanks for submitting, see you in the next jam! :)

Pretty interesting concept-- a deduction/mystery game crossed with a shooter seems like an interesting combo. And, yeah, the art and dialogue isn't too great. But, still: you _did_ something.

And you're right: there is always a next time. See you during the next jam!

Great concept! Thanks for uploading. I had pretty similar critiques as those above, but also wanted to congratulate you for finishing up a compo entry! I liked the music. I also imagined each character's death gasp of information and enjoyed the sparse graphics. Great writing! Thanks for the game!

I like the music, I definitely do. It would be a bit better if there was any kind of penalty for shots or wrong accusations, or at least finite amount of ammo. It could have been a nice detective game, if there were some additional clues. Thank you for your entry!

vfqd 2018-04-30 12:55

Like people before me have said, I think a penalty for false accusations would be nice. Otherwise, really enjoyed the music.

Congrats on finishing your first entry! Learning to work with what kind of art you can create is a skill that develops over a few jams. I like how the game like a triple genre combo shooter + detective + platformer ( I did get stuck in some platforms though )

bentekiller 2018-05-01 18:34

Thx for the kind comments, I appreciate it! I'm surprised anyone liked the music I accomplished to make, as I have never touched music before, and yeah the platforms could easily have gotten some upgrades. I'm glad for the honest feedback, and I'll definetly want to do more jams after this one ^^!
