The general jumping was a little wonky. Though completely loved the concept and the execution. Great job!
Need some menu to replay it. Like the game and everything seemed quite smooth. I'd recommend death animation and transition between the win/loss screen.
Need the datafolder
Thanks for the feedback everyone. The criticism is very helpful. I will make sure to checkout all your games and return the favor.
Love the game, I would disable the text in the beginning if you're playing again. Great game!
I like the style, yet the controls were awkward. Perhaps speeding up the horizontal speed. Also, the pickup was unresponsive. Love the animation and the characters.
These are my thoughts
**Good**
The sound is amazing, this man's voice will become my new ringtone :)
I was surprised to see the detail in the ball. It would've been just as easy to add a sphere, but the details are important to see rotation. good job!
Good credits scene. Me like.
**Improvements**
The camera at the start is confusing. Why is it looking down? I guess it'll fix itself when you go straight but then you can just fall off a cliff
The idea isn't original at all. I docked points there, but it was built very well. I do love my monkeyball from gamecube
Please add a sound effect for winning.
I don't know how difficult it is with love, but I'd add some impact particle effects
Some form of skybox would be nice, it would create some story to the game, even if there isn't one
Good submission, I'll make sure to check out any other work you've done. See you in the next jam!
These are my thoughts:
**Good**
The update for the controls was much appreciated
First game I found sound settings, me gusta :)
The difficulties matched what they said they were. Easy was in fact easy, and hard was .. you guess it .. hard
The images in the cards were nice, I think they were too nice that they contrasted with the game too much.
**Improvements**
The particles were a good baseline, but instead of have a big bright ball when impact, have like stone particles come off would be nice
The health would be at zero when I play again after death. Just a bug. Easy fix.
I wish there was more of a reason why upgrades were given after defeating the enemies. It would be nice if the enemy had that trait, and after you defeat them, you get their armor or ability.. just a thought
Shooting and the collisions isn't bad, but it isn't amazing. I'd prefer the collisions to be bigger. I think you have mesh colliders, but this would be better if it was the width of their hands, so bullets don't go under their arms.
All around, nice submission. I hope to run in your next game in future!
**Good**
Love the voice over 10/10. Quit your job to do this full time
Really clever mash up
**Improvements**
Being able to jump off the road needs to be patched
Could improve graphics, but good for the time allotted
It's difficult to see the log in the road. Needs color contrast
Falling down was very slow, and if you hit a rock, you go inside. Fix the mesh collider or have him fall before the rock.
@jk5000 Easy! Just get a job, and quit. I'll hire you :)
Reall creative puzzles. The controls worked very well and the levels didn't bug out ever. It was a bit strange with the physics interaction if you are dragging a companion. I didn't really like the sound effects, and I think they could be improved upon. Even add more when unlocking and locking parts of the level, just to create a more immersive experience.
Great entry! See you in the next Jam!
This is very good. Couple things for improvement. The ground should be seamless. It would improve the look of the game, but then you'd have to worry about informing the player where the plot is for planting and building. I was surprised to see building in the first place, but you can always expand on that as well. The UI is good, but when you equip a tool, you should hold something in your hand.
Other than that, most of the built in mechanic worked perfectly. However, when I built from grass to sand, the wall dropped to a different height. That should be addressed on a later patch. Good sound, overall, I'd say your submission should do quite well in the rankings. Good job!
These are my thoughts
**Good**
I find the concept quite clever. As a fan of Rocket League, I thought it was pretty funny
The models for the big scary man are quite good, and the fact they have the texture and glossy material on them is a job well done
You were able to get a good amount of sound effects in, and they are somewhat good. Not amazing, but decent.
The particle effect trailing the ball is a nice touch. Most people won't notice it, but it really helps you coordinate the direction of the ball.
The bounce of the wall is really good physics. It keeps momentum in the game and it feels natural
The arrow tracking the ball is a good addition and I'm happy you put the time to put it in
**Improvements**
The sound balance is a little off, of course, it would help if you had settings. I think the music should be put more in the background
The effect with turning the player is a bit wonky. The player's body needs to rotate with the camera better. The gun is going through the player's body at points. Needs some cleaning up
The floor needs a material on it
I think you should make the player jump higher to have better advantage points. Maybe add jackpacks or something futuristic.
Cool entry, see you in the next jam!
Hey man, nice entry. Here are my thoughts:
**Good**
The little flame effect on the spaceships is pleasing
The sound effect of the text being displayed seems like a better tone than most I hear
The unloading particle effect is real nice
I like that the last item gets dropped if the column is full
**Improvements**
To me, it's just a little too hard to align your ship to the row. Maybe make it a little bit easier
I'd like the option to use WASD, my hands are in new territory with this game
I think that some of the animations are slow. Like when the Buy menu appears and when the gates open, it just takes a while when you add it all up
Great game overall, probably one of my most highest scored. See you in the next jam.
Here are my thoughts:
**Good**
Models are quite impressive, and I was actually surprised to see more than one tiered monster
Sound effects are good, and the music fits the feel of the game well too
The scene is set up well. The fog is a nice effect, and a good shortcut to avoid having to make models for the ground ;)
**Improvements**
It was hard to tell that the red gave health my initial time playing through. Would suggest making it clearer somehow
The sound balance was a bit off. Thought that the music should be turned down to support the action sound effects better
Not sure if you're supposed to walk in the middle, but not have that happen may be better
The game was a little too easy for me. I got to around 7000 and felt the difficulty had become stagnant, and that I would continue to play forever
Allow the player to exit the puzzle in case they click it when they're in a bad spot. I hit R in a couple bad spots and took damage
**Final thoughts**
Very good overall! I think it will do well in ranking. If you are going to polish it for later, add more puzzles, and allow the gun configuration to flip shapes. See you in the next jam
These are my thoughts:
**Good**
Love the graphics style you chose. Kind of isometric/3d
The AI is exceptional for the time you had. That work alone blows the game out of the park
The mash up was an interesting idea, and I think it was executed phenomenally
**Improvements**
The paintball aspect needs more involvement. There either needs more bullets or don't have the AI shoot all the bullets away. It seems everytime I switch to a new player and there are no bullets.
Why are the goalies soo good? I played five games and wasn't able to score. I wanted to see what happened when there was a goal and tried to let the other team score, but they never did. It's a bit too hard.
The perspective can be a bit challenging. Maybe the view from the center line would be best, but I understand why you went with that camera perspective.
Thanks for the submission, can't wait to see you in the next jam
@Erik Brunnstrom Yeah man, no problem. I'll get around to checking out your other two games, just have to get through some more of this jam. :)
**Good**
Liked the trophies after using the items in the story
The graphics in the room and 2d book were quite good
The transition between 3d to 2s was cool
**Improvements**
Add more difficulty
More interaction and actions in the 3d space
Items being held go through object -- look at picture
Add sound effects
error.PNG
Nice entry man, these are my thoughts
**Good**
The hat was a really nice addition. Things like that make a game a bit more quirky and fun
The animation of the big work was quite good for it crawling around and attacking
Music was nice to set the mood
The animation of the lever bobbing effect was a good touch, though maybe not have it do that if you can't use it. Like the hoe at the beginning
**Improvements**
I though that the inventory was huge compared to what you can get, maybe I didn't get everything
It'd be good to have some sound effect to inform you that you are taking damage. When you get hit or when you hit something
The ground needs better texture to symbolize actual grass. You could even do chunks of grass in the art style you are doing which should be simple and adding trees would be nice.
If you continue with this game, I think it would be cool to have a tower defense system, kind of like factorio, but with farms
The signs on the machine show the text from behind them. Fix that
Nice game, see you in the next jam!
@GhostGoatsGames Thanks man, the tide mechanic was inspired by another LD game I played a year a game where they involved time in their platformer.
@saoi-games Thanks for the suggestions. If I were to work it up again, I'd add UI displays explaining how to accomplish more simple puzzles. Sort of like a tutorial, and add a check point at the end so you don't have to go through it all again. I went with A and D so that it was suppose to begin as a side view, and then change to an up and down view. But I couldn't get the camera transition down so the whole game became top down.
@RadioactiveRambo This has been my favorite game made so far. If I think of more clever games, I may release a more polished version later, but I'm in the middle of so many other projects in the middle. LD games are great to keep your skills fresh. Thanks for the compliments.. helps boost my self esteem.
@jk5000 Look at my comment to Saoi. I thought I was going to be clever, but it ended to be my biggest complaint. I'll probs switch it later. Thanks for the review :)
@Fabian Pohl Thanks, it was a compo challenge, so it was just me. Thanks for the review
I've updated the game to be a bit easier, and added another checkpoint. Barrels are larger and collisions are changed to make more sense in the top down view. hopefully people will enjoy all of it, and not just the first few jumps.
Keep the reviews coming!
**Updated Game**
Hey thanks for all the feed back. I've taken it all into consideration and with some the quick fixes, I went ahead did. I also made puzzles easier. I just want people to be able to do all of it and enjoy everything I worked on :)
**Please download the original version if you have not scored the game, the updates were done after the alotted time**
-Keep barrel floating above tide (seems to only work in downloaded version, still issues in web)
-Made the high tiered puzzles easier -- I hope
-Uploaded an explainer video @nardandas, @mAnimal
**-CHANGED THE CONTROLS!** @saoi-games, @radioactiverambo, @jk5000, @royur **THERE, YOU HAPPY?! :) **
-Added R to respawn when dead @Bentekiller
-Removed some planks of docks that are on high tiers to better see through
-Tried to fix weird collisions on the docks that prevented barrels from sliding. If the problem persists, please comment to let me know @multiplexor
-Made night cycle shorter by about 1/2 and day cycle when shadows are good about 20% longer
-Added another checkpoint, and change the font color
**MORE UPDATES TO COME**
@gamedevbynight Hey, thanks alot. I'm still trying to find an art style. I only do 3d games so I'm pretty limited I feel :)
@Bentekiller I didn't think about that feature, about making it see through. I really wanted the shadows to play a more active role in the gameplay, but it's difficult with the day/night cycle. I think I will implement a see-through dock when I do another update. Thanks!
@olivier-millochau Hopefully it's not too hard anymore :| thanks for the feedback :)
These are my thoughts
Death animation is pretty good
**Good**
The beeps and gizmo sound effects are stellar. The really create a cool digital/techy atmosphere
The music sets a great mood, and it's not annoying to listen to.
The rigging/animation of the main robot is really well done. It's very smooth, and quite natural to play with
**Improvements**
The way the line sight of the cameras should be like a line or an opaque light. The block of gray is real ugly
Add some textures to the wall
Allow the player to move when at the control panel. I always forget to push E to release
Add the image 1 and 2 next the UI. Thought I needed to click it at first
Allow to push E on the side of the hack machines
Great submission, I'll make sure to checkout your previous submissions. See you in the next Jam!
Hey man, I see that this is your first entry, welcome!
I have to admit, the theme for this challenge was quite difficult. I ran into some bugs while playing your game. One of my cubes glitched into the paint and I began racking up infinite points. It'd be nice if there were an indicator until the next zoom out, and if you could make paint brushes smaller. Were we suppose to control more than one cube? I thought at first I was building a track for my little guy. I'm still a bit confused on the concept, but I hope you're able to polish some things up and release an update and get it to how you wanted it.
Thanks for submitting, see you in the next jam!
**Good**
The music is really cool and creates a unique atmosphere. Definitely the best part for me.
The models of the objects to pick up were good
The list of what I found was helpful to know I actually grabbed something
**Improvement**
The flashlight didn't help me very much. There was no distinction between the light source and the fog.
Perhaps some action sound effects to indicate when I win or pick up something, or when you first start
I don't understand why there isn't a floor. Maybe it was covered by the fog or something, but I felt like I could go under the perimeter wall.
There should be more of an indication of a dystopian world. Try an create more 3d models for the environment.
The gameplay wasn't very engaging. There needs to be a reason to collect the objects to escape the area you're in or build something. I would make it so you don't need to hold don't the mouse button to look as this is used universally for first person games.
Hope this help, can't wait to see you in the next jam.
**Good** Really like the ball vanishing animation and the paddle impact animation. They were smooth and fit nicely with the action. They're something small that really increases the quality of the game.
The music gave the game some good atmosphere.
The game is quite intuitive and it doesn't need much explaining, which is definitely a positive
The text effect for the quality of hit was pleasant and fit nicely on the screen.
**Improvements** I would like some indication that the game is a ping pong setting. It's hard to tell you're using a ping pong paddle.
I think you were planning on incorporating the music in the game, but by your description, I didn't see it.
I'm playing on full screen and can't interact with the options menu. It's nice you have one but you need to activate the mouse.
The swinging motion makes no sense to me. I feel that I'm hitting the ball while the paddle is aiming down.
Would like to see previous points and maybe how many points I get after each successful ball turn.
Hope to see you in the next compo!
**Good**
The puzzles themselves are self-explanatory and you do a really good job of teaching the player how to play with the progression of levels. So good level design.
The feel of the game was great. One of those retro games you played as a kid.
The movement was smooth and the implemented mechanics were well executed.
Guard AI seemed exceptional. I know AI is difficult to do in a short timeline.
**Improvements**
Number one thing, please add a pulling option. So many times, I've pushed the pieces into a wall because I hit it with my big head. It avoids having to restart.
Add a restart button if I do fail up the level. I had to close and launch every time unless I was caught.
Frequently, the levels wouldn't appear for some reason. Look at the image I attached. It was inconsistent but it typically happened on the third level. Never the first or second levels.
There shouldn't be an opening at the bottom of the level for the first level. I was confused for a good minute.
Nice entry! Hope to see your next project soon!!

Hey guys, great submission! These are my thoughts:
**Good**
I always love voice sound effects. Good job.
I really like the idea of hitting the goal for the ball storm. I think it's creative and made the game more fun.
All the controls work well. Simple enough, which is always the best.
Thank you for not having any form of health bar, I like that it's one hit kill
The death effect is funny, and wacky in a good way
**Improvements**
When you go near the edge, the camera spans and you see like a black/empty part of the game. I'd try to expand the stadium for that part for a more emmersive experience.
I don't understand the point of the power. It seem to hit the same every time I hit it and everyone died no matter how hard I hit it. Make you could remove it.
Make it so the enemies walk on the field that the goal layer is in front of their layer. It's weird seeing them walk through the net to enter the field.
I'd add some particle effect of the ball scoring or hitting the players
Nice submission, see you in the next jam!
Hey, I see this is your first LD entry, welcome!
As with @Olivier Millochau, I noticed that the parallax scrolling of the background was done very well. It'd be nice to see the bodies fall when shot so I know they're dead and you have to add a boolean to your code to be able to interact with them. An isDead' boolean and then can interact with them. The platforms were a bit wonky, because you could hit the side and still jump up. I think you should make the character jump higher and raise the platforms so you cant go through them while walking.
Thanks for submitting, see you in the next jam! :)
I liked the mood of the game, the music and the game play worked really well.
Biggest rooms for improvement would be to smooth out the collisions, my car would bump around at weird spots. Push back the camera to be able to see more the map, and add the ability to reverse.
Thanks for creating this game, see you in the next jam!
These are my thoughts:
**Good**
The game as itself is enjoyable. It's challenging, but not impossible. A good blend.
Music is good, and you have good action sound effects to know when you've done something
I like that you didn't have an infinite world, keep it simple helped with execution and workload
**Improvements**
It's hard to tell sometimes what land I will till. I figured it out, but maybe have the plot of land highlighted would be more helpful.
The plot of land should darken when you add water. #Minecraft style
Should be more of a warning when the wolves attack. Once they have you insight, you're dead :(
Thanks for making this game, see you in the next jam!
These are my thoughts
**Good**
The question mark of when the guard sees you is really neat and the AI of them chasing you is pretty good
I like the particle effects you have for the exit portal thing. Both when it's locked and when it opens
**Improvements**
You need to add a lose game event if you fall off the level. End I think you should fall like it's an endless void
Add an animation for pushing objects over
Nice to have a sound effect for when the level door opens so you know you complete the level
I think the guards move too quickly when they move from their spots. Rotating seems fine
The concept is self explanatory, but I think it'd still be a good addition to have UI arrows guiding the player how to play for the first level
It wasn't clear at first if you could roll the longer block while it was laying down.
The wind sound effect is a bit irritating. I didn't think it fit well in the game.
