Great models and sound! However I encountered a bug that wouldnt let me release from a terminal thus breaking the game :(
@amatwiedle Thanks for playing. Sorry that you experience this bug. We haven't encountered it ourselves but I if we do, we will post a post-jam version so that the game is winnable. Glad you enjoyed the models and sound
This game is great! I initially felt some nostalgia due to the sneaky play style. The music and graphic design work perfectly, and I especially love the soundtrack :) Where could I find the link to the OST itself?
many thanks.
The music was really well done, really brought in the right mood. The puzzles were nicely crafted too. I'm pretty sure I did the easiest one last cuz I didn't see the terminal hiding behind the wall.
Cool ! I'm not really good at this type of games but I really like yours, it's fluid :) However I found that the sound of the robots who moove was too big, so it was more tiring for the ears ahah. Also the music is great. Good job !
I completed my mission on the second try. (GJ me pressing the camera button while standing next to a camera.) This reminded me a bit of an old favorite of mine, Paradroid! <3 Sneakybot has very nice controls and animation! SPOILER ALERT: I felt a sudden rush after hacking the final terminal when the music changed, thinking I had to get out FAST but didn't see any countdown timer and figured I could take my time and not make any more silly mistakes. I guess I was right? Winner winner!
Did not encounter any bugs. I am however unsure of which two genres this is supposed to combine? Anyhoo, good job and congrats on a solid entry!
That was really cool implementation of stealth. The puzzles were a good level of difficulty too which is sometimes hard to get across in such a short development time. I really liked how the models looked in the game too, the main character managed to remind of some of the robots in Wall-e for some reason. Great work on this! :)
@emmitt we are glad to know that the mood was set for a good nostalgia moment and our music person appreciates your appreciation to his music. :) If we ever post an OST we'll make sure to do make a blog post about it. Thanks for playing. :)
@puffballsunited we aimed at setting the right mood, glad you liked it. Yes, we found out late in the process that the camera angle made it a little hard in some areas. We plan to keep working on this project and try a different angle. Thanks for playing.
@caillou it's encouraging to know the game is accessible even to those that do not normally choose a stealth like game. Sorry about the robot sound. We are still learning how to do 3D sounds in Unity. Thanks for playing
@mashas Thanks for playing and for the comment. You are right, there's no penalty for taking your time currently, but we at least wanted to set the right mood to build an interesting ending. :D
@gamesplusjames Our character modeler was aiming for that style, glad you liked it and thanks for the comment and playing. :)
These are my thoughts
Death animation is pretty good
**Good**
The beeps and gizmo sound effects are stellar. The really create a cool digital/techy atmosphere
The music sets a great mood, and it's not annoying to listen to.
The rigging/animation of the main robot is really well done. It's very smooth, and quite natural to play with
**Improvements**
The way the line sight of the cameras should be like a line or an opaque light. The block of gray is real ugly
Add some textures to the wall
Allow the player to move when at the control panel. I always forget to push E to release
Add the image 1 and 2 next the UI. Thought I needed to click it at first
Allow to push E on the side of the hack machines
Great submission, I'll make sure to checkout your previous submissions. See you in the next Jam!
@travis-spuller really appreciate the comment. These are all super good suggestions that we as a team will discuss and strongly consider as we work towards improving the experience. Really value your input and thank you for playing! :D
Good game overall.
It probably need a little more improvements in the AI, it can be fooled very easily. Probably you can turn the field of view of the guard robots while it's moving. Also have a sense of proximity that when the player is too close, it will be detected.
The graphics are very good, for some reason the camera field of view doesn't render correctly. The audio it's also very good, set the stealth mood very well.
Congrats, this was a good entry.
Easily the best ld41 game I've played. The game is complete all around. The core gameloop is solid, the controls were natural, I didn't run into any bugs, the music matched fairly well, the sound effects were great, the models were well done, simplistic with style and personality, and the color palette was fitting. I would totally buy a full-featured game with this aesthetic and feel. I frequently revisit Invisible Inc and Gunpoint, and this is what this reminded me of. However, Invisible Inc can sometimes get too complicated. A game with fairly simplistic controls and options can sometimes be a good thing. Well done!
Oh, one helpful criticism: Please add save checkpoints after hacking each terminal. It was mildly annoying to have to redo the entire path. (Yes, I "tested" the failure case too!)
I gave most of my feedback on stream! Thanks for submitting it!
It's pretty good! I'd argue that it may be handy to show special wall blocks in places where doors are open, to have some sort of "save stat" so you don't start from the beginning again when you lose, and that the mouse is actually pretty useless - I'd consider binding 3 additional keyboard keys for the 2 options you get when you connect to a mini-terminal ans adding that key to these 2 icons so they can be see in-game, and then you can just keep both hands on the keyboard when playing, more straightforward IMO. Bot beyond that, this is a very good pussle game, good job, well done, I enjoyed this :-D
@strangeryann thank you for playing and for you comment/suggestions. I'm not 100% clear on the button binding as all actions in the game are currently bound to a buttons. "E" is for accessing all terminals, alpha 1 is for doors, alpha 2 is for cameras. I will say that leaving the icons around may be a little confusing and is there more for when we get the chance to export a mobile version of them game. We had plan for having the player restart at the last big terminal hacked and the code was in place but there was a bug that prevented this from happening. Hoping to finish a polish version by this weekend and posting it which will contain that feature. Thanks again for playing and the constructive feedback. :D
The theme is not very much used as stealth and puzzles usually go together in a lot of games, but its well design and kind of challenging so good job!
