LD39 — Running out of Power

Fade by glimaleite 2017-08-02T02:44:13Z

Amazing game! The graphics and audio were absolutely perfect, and the dialogue, though minimal, told a great story. The gameplay also really fit the mood, as the reload mechanic made it really stressful. This is one of the best games I've seen in this jam so far!

I'm an (nuclear) engineer! by zgragselus 2017-08-01T14:47:37Z

Cool game! The gameplay is fairly simple, which makes it easy and enjoyable. I really loved the graphics, but I will say that adding some calming background music would've made it better.

Defend Home: Mars by sgt3v 2017-08-01T18:12:34Z

This game was pretty impressive, especially considering it was made for a game jam. It could use a bit more polish (things like enemy hit animations, etc.), but the graphics were very good and the gameplay was fun.

Power Outage by keckles 2017-08-02T01:30:13Z

Nice game! The graphics fit the game well, and the flashlight mechanic was cool and unique.

The Hackerman by Steing 2017-08-01T17:58:20Z

Super funny and fun game. The doge wallpaper is pretty dope, and the operating system felt realistic, if satirical. Good job!

Asteroid Miner by Roka Josh 2017-08-01T17:18:39Z

This was a very fun game! The gameplay was simple but addictive, the ship movement was very smooth, and the graphics and audio fit the theme and mood really well.

Professional Protesters by MartinTristan 2017-08-01T14:23:14Z

This was a pretty fun, if simple, game. The art was a bit messy but I think that fit with the feel of the game, and the rate at which you could upgrade your protesters was paced very well, which kept the game from becoming boring. With a bit of time and polish, I could see this becoming a very successful game.

Thanks for all your comments, guys. This was my first time using unity, so I didn't realize I needed the data folder. I've updated the build on game jolt so it should be working now

@alejandrodlsp Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

@winterslice I'm sorry to hear that :( The door only opens if the opening dialogue has been read through completely, had you read through all the dialogue, including all the control explanations?

Adrift by Brendan Engelman 2017-08-02T13:16:37Z

@winterslice No, skipping dialogue shouldn't affect the door opening. However, enter is the key to skip dialogue, not RMB - did you map your controls differently from the default settings? Because that would make it so that you need to use a different key to open the door. Other than that, I'm not sure what could've happened.

Fun game! I really like the graphics and audio, they created a really cool atmosphere.

System.reLight by Reggnos 2017-08-02T02:15:56Z

I really liked the graphics, especially the flashlight mechanics, they felt very polished. The gameplay was pretty fun, although the momentum physics made it feel like your character is on ice skates. Overall, it's a good game.

One In the Chamber, One In the Socket by notApollogising 2017-08-02T02:32:12Z

When I try to run it I just get a white window and the application stops responding. After a while an error message saying "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" pops up. The game looks fun, if you get it fixed I'd love to play it.

Saito's Transgression by Kapricorn Media 2017-08-02T03:11:12Z

The graphics and audio for this game were amazing! They set up the mood and tone really well, and were absolutely gorgeous. However, I found the gameplay a bit tedious; I'd recommend increasing movement speed, or adding a run option, as walking across a flat of ground got boring pretty quickly.

Meltdown by Sarrixx 2017-08-02T13:03:31Z

This was a pretty cool game. I particularly liked the voice acting, it's not something Ludum Dare games tend to have. The graphics were clean and suited the environment.

The Dying of the Light by Winterslice 2017-08-03T02:14:59Z

Cool game! I really liked the background music and narration. I think the combat could've been balanced a bit better, but I understand that it's hard to get good game balance within such a short timeframe. The graphics, especially the colour palette, were really great. Nice job!

The Dictater by Don Fouts 2017-08-02T03:48:53Z

Fun game, cool take on the "running out of power" theme. I think the click mashing gameplay works for this type of game, but the addition of more mechanics would've made the clicking a little less unbearable.

Flicker by roaderful 2017-08-01T22:31:16Z

Nice game! The puzzles are fun and challenging, and the graphics and music are fantastic and create a great mood.

Power Station by Augusto 2017-08-01T17:33:32Z

Nice game! It was fun to play, the graphics were pretty good, I loved the audio, and the control scheme was really cool and unique. The one thing it could use, if you are planning on continuing to develop the game, is animations for when enemies are killed, just to add some extra polish. Other than that, good job!

Night Driver by nbitsstudio 2017-08-02T13:11:14Z

Cool game! The retro graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is fun. I personally found the control scheme to be difficult to use, but maybe that's just me.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-02T02:25:40Z

Cool game! I really like the art, and the animations all feel very smooth. The gameplay is difficult but fun.

Exception 39: Core Molten by PanDorfa 2017-08-01T14:18:10Z

Overall this was a very fun game. It was relatively smooth, and I liked the trampoline mechanic, it made for some interesting gameplay. I do think that you could have made some of the mechanics a bit more clear; for example, adding a sign telling you that the yellow thing is a trampoline at the start, and clarifying what the fires do, but other than that it was a very good game.

Lichometer by Kade 2017-08-02T01:59:21Z

Cool game! I really liked the graphics, and the gameplay was simple but pretty fun. The premise and art remind me of Mobs inc.
