I am a little confused on what is going on in this game. I think some more instructions would have helped... I eventually figured out that the energy boost gave me one use of a double jump, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to use that to actually get further in the game. It also felt like there was a disconnect between the red from the core melt-down to when you actually get a game over.

It would have been nice to have the energy meter more prevalent, as it took me awhile to realize what was causing a game over (I assumed it was getting in the red area, but it was actually just running out of energy.

I think the game may have been tuned to be too difficult.

Please leave some feedback to help me polish AND finish the game!

besslaaneshi 2017-08-01 03:18

the idea is old, but it's still nice. The problem is in gamedesign, that the "running out of power" is not needed here. Your time limited by lava. And i can't understand logic why i need to get more energy. Maybe it need some more balance so u MUST collect them, or u die and if u will be slow - lava kill you. But still i have fun playing it! Good job.

pandorfa 2017-08-01 03:23

@BesSlaaneshi you collect energy for your shield that protects you from heat and obstackles (when there is lava, there's got to be hot, so it takes 1 energy per 5 seconds) so when your shield depletes, you go toast. Its all lore related. Thanks for review and I hope I cleared why i chose some of the mechanics

Very cool concept, and feels platforming feels tight.

oliverlevay 2017-08-01 12:01

This was very cool. I like the concept and with a bit more polish I think I'd play it for hours :) Add music, make the platforming a bit less clunky (add some sweet sound effects when jumping) and make the trampoline(I guess) actually look like one so that the player understands it quickly but masters it after playing the game a while.

Great job! kinda reminds me of doodle jump. (btw the first web link doesn't work as i am posting this)

pandorfa 2017-08-01 12:59

@samuli-salonen hello, i am glad you liked my game! Thx for info about broken link, it is working now again :)

brendan-engelman 2017-08-01 14:18

Overall this was a very fun game. It was relatively smooth, and I liked the trampoline mechanic, it made for some interesting gameplay. I do think that you could have made some of the mechanics a bit more clear; for example, adding a sign telling you that the yellow thing is a trampoline at the start, and clarifying what the fires do, but other than that it was a very good game.

brorawr 2017-08-01 15:45

Nice little piece of work, I like how detailed you were in the description!

The game and its mechanics are nothing new, but you added your own touches to it and kept it intesting.

Kudos! :)

naminuz 2017-08-01 16:42

I like the way things are taught to the player and the button not to push ^^ (however the invisible wall could have been avoided by spawning the first platform imho)

behenate 2017-08-02 12:30

Wow, at first i didn't like this game, but after few minutes it became very engaging :D Great entry

boxfort 2017-08-02 12:32

Had quite a lot of fun with this, a solid platformer! I had trouble understanding what the yellow platforms meant at first but i picked it up after a bit, maybe a bit more explaination would be good for the player. Its pretty challenging too, took me a good few tries! good job!

toonteamj 2017-08-02 14:54

It was a little hard to learn. The physics are really floaty and gravity feels like the moon, so I had trouble with timing. Other then that the game was nice.

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-02 15:22

Fun game, but definitelly needs some more polishing.

hishicorne 2017-08-02 16:26

The game was fun ! However it was a bit hard to controlls, and I didn't understood at the begining that I was meant to jump ON the orange platform - thought i should push the button bellow lol -. I think you need to polish that - and graphics.

But yeah, it was fun !!

varelsegames 2017-08-02 18:57

Controls felt a little floaty, but I really enjoyed the repeated use of the bouncy platform design. Neat little design concept.

speedysloth99 2017-08-02 19:11

I really like the bouncy platforms. They seemed a bit buggy but still massively added to the game. It seems fine, but if you want to turn it into a full game, you would definitely need to improve the art, maybe add a story and more content, then fix the bugs, but once you do that, this game would be worthy of a great game!

alaah 2017-08-02 19:34

Instructions unclear or I'm missing the point. You're marking fire as energy boost in the tutorial area? And you're one of these Unity devs who don't bother exporting a Linux version, which is sad.

askania-m 2017-08-02 21:27

Concept is good and I liked graphics. However, I found instructions to be too reserved. May be more instructions and more signs like that with "Don't touch" In spite of that I liked this game and rated it

pandorfa 2017-08-03 03:09

@starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney you are probably missing the point, as of linux build I didnt bother to export to it for few reasons: 1) almost nobody uses linux 2) i dont have installed linux exporter 3) i did build for WebGL. Correct me if I am wrong, but linux afaik is capable of running webgl... cant wait for people to start complaining about Unity devs who dont export to Smart TV... BTW excuse me being rude, I didnt sleep in a while and your comment about linux version just pissed me off.

afroant 2017-08-06 20:59

Nice job incorporating a lot of elements! I liked the mini-stages with button pushing that had to be completed before moving on. I'd say the most important thing to fix is the controls. It's important in these kinds of games where the controls are everything. Also, going from 30+ energy to 0 when the you hit lava made me sad :( Perhaps just increase the energy loss rate while in lava? Anyway, great first entry! Hope to see more from you!
