Loved the game, However the collecting mechanic is hard to hit. But very fun. I didn't get to far without dying. Very unique approach to the theme. 4/5

i love the take on the theme! like sno0w mentioned, hard to collect souls. hard but fun. 4/5

Great Game! A bit hard to pick up souls and the mages are slightly op, but otherwise wonderful!

It's a great game. And the draining makes it a skillful and tactical game that is hard but rewarding. But at the same time, the mages are op when they are grouped together

The music was fun. It would have been nice to have a little bit of affordance at the start to familiarize the player with the controls, but they were simple once I looked them up from the menu. The art was great. The only thing I really missed was some real feedback when hitting and being hit.

loadsofmana 2017-08-01 02:57

Lovely presentation, all the way down to the font. The controls are a bit loose, and collecting is a bit harder than it needs to be IMO, could do with just being walked over to pick up.

Love it, this reminds me of Demon Tower. I feel like everyone has pointed out the details so I really want to congratulate you on your gamefeel. Walking felt great ! The spells were varied and fun to use and it was really challenging. Good job !

Really well made! One thing I do wish is that even when enemies (or "heroes" in this case? haha) go behind the lower walls, I'm able to see them. I know it goes semi-transparent when I walk by, but sometimes I got some nasty surprises not realizing there were foes there. Liked how the difficulty progressed too! Solid graphics!

pixelformedstudios 2017-08-01 22:32

Loved the graphics and gameplay. Not being able to see enemies behind walls was a little strange but very nice combat mechanics.

Interesting gameplay and nice take on the theme! Graphics are very nice to the eyes and the game felt neatly done and nicely worked on. Good entry

Cool game! I really liked the graphics, and the gameplay was simple but pretty fun. The premise and art remind me of Mobs inc.

elit3dgaming 2017-08-02 02:18

Cool game, love the graphics and the enemies felt somewhat fair :)

minibobbo 2017-08-02 03:48

I liked the audio and the feel for how the lich moved around. I lasted 1 minute 4 seconds. I'm not a very good lichometer...

Suggestions: - Let the player shoot sideways. Fighting the mages was frustrating because I had no ability to dodge and shoot them. Firing only in 4 directions made some situations needlessly difficult. - Auto collect souls. Right clicking was tricky and I don't think really added to the game.

Bugs: None found. Nice work!

Good job with the game. I really enjoyed the art in this game, especially some of the more subtle things like the walls turning translucent when you got near them. Game play wise it was fun, but the movement felt loose which made things more difficult. Overall it was a nice game.

jorbits 2017-08-02 10:54

I felt the game was too difficult. I just avoided mages all the time. Sometimes knights were hiding behind the walls and were then able to hit me. Sometimes I saw the enemies spawning (poping up). I like the music and the graphics.

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-02 13:45

Really nice game, fun concept of gameplay with amazing pixel-art graphics. I like the attention to the detail in this game: - the font used there is just awesome, - walls become transparent when player is behind them, - animations look very nice. The only thing that could be improved is changing soul picking mechanics - instead of right clicking of them, they should be automatically collected, when player is near them. By doing that player would focus on combat, not at collecting souls.

Awesome! Can't remember how long I lasted for as I quit by accident as I was spamming fire as I shot and happened to be hovering over the quit button (admittedly I quit through like, 3 dialogues somehow..). I enjoyed playing this, but my one gripe were the walls, I liked how they went invisible for you, but enemies could go un-noticed quite easily.

Graphics have a real solid style to them, it's probably best to not mix pixel scales too much when using pixel art (the bigger enemies looked like scaled up small enemies) as it detracts from the overall quality of the art. I understand if it was done for time reasons however, it was a jam after all :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, great job!

franfox 2017-08-06 16:53

Nice entry! A good dungeon crawler made during a jam. I like the election of the main character but not the soul picking mechanic like mentioned @theflyingkeyboard, I think a Lich should have the ability to attract the souls with his own magic with de second button. Although art was pretty good I think the dungeon is too much illuminated, I think a more darker ambient would fit better with the whole game theme, then the candle lights would shine more ;) A good game anyway, good job!

vasco-rodrigues 2017-08-10 20:56

Great game! Very fun but also a bit difficult, and like others said before me, it's hard to pick up souls. Interesting approach to the theme. Overall it's a great game, very fun to kill all those enemies.

lereveur 2017-08-10 21:10

And old school dungeon game with old school art and music, yeah! I'm too bad to play more than a couple of minutes, but this was fun to try! As minus, I would say there is a little too much controls to manage, but this is not very bad, the whole game is good, well done!

mianagames 2017-08-11 01:48

Very nice game. I love it. Congrats!

huvaakoodia 2017-08-15 06:58

+1 to tricky controls.

Fine design and graphics. Not a lot more to say really.

Ok job.
