I really like the backdrops and overall weirdness...not the most interesting plat-former though.

you can press Q to respawn, holding brake while turning makes corners and Us a lot easier, but i agree the controls do need work, thanks for the comment!
there is supposed to be a different song for each level, but that broke, and our music guy bailed for the weekend so i had to use randomly generated music.
good art direction, programming needs work
got a billion NullRefs after clearing each floor, and cant shoot up while against a south wall, but other than that pretty good! nice sound and art (though would making the character sprite turn with him be that hard? :P)
0/10 needs more glider.
the attacking felt a little odd at times, but once i figured out how to spin to win it was great.
while it may not have come out how you intended i think its a lot of fun, i enjoyed rescuing the poor village of green ice skaters from the red menace with my cube-axe of justice.
text boxes stay up waaaay too long, good otherwise.
it felt super slow to begin with, but once i noticed there was upgrades i was compelled to play through a few times. i think the upgrade pace was fine, would definitely benefit from some music to distract from the repetition though.
this ones a ton of fun, the controls feel great, the visuals while basic effectively convey the purpose of things, and the pacing feels fantastic.
this is pretty fantastic, i don't think there were really any areas lacking, good art, good sound, fun and unique. I'm jealous. my score 5422.
could definitely use a hold to fire option.
My frogs blotted out the sun. fun.
love me some good platforming. my game was kinda similar, but first person. the collision could use some work, i died to quite a few things i didnt actually touch, and the death could be a bit more... deathy, a timer and then a fadeout is somewhat unsatisfying.
i like the idea of basically controlling 2 characters simultaneously. the big black voids with the pulsing white ones on top were a bit annoying, kept going too soon cause it looked like it was covered and getting my health chipped away.
was a fun little thing, managed to win my first match. made me a pair of excaliburs. That winning animation was cute, but the blacksmith in me must mention that you don't cast swords, you'd end up with a fragile mess.
fixed, thanks.
cleared it on normal, one of the most fun ludum dare games I've played, very neat use of theme, tight controls, simple but sufficient graphics. Only thing lacking I'd say is SFX, but the music is good.
Cute art style, gameplay is a bit simple.
very nice art, entertaining premise
as many have commented, confusing mechanics, the towers visual feedback when they shoot felt lacking as well
I'm flattered you took the time to play it thoroughly , and yes, I did in fact leave the debug buttons in, i have a habit of doing so for jam games, more out of a sense of mischief than negligence, i like to see if anyone finds them :yum:
Nice aesthetic, good controls, solid use of theme.
arts good, game is humorous, theme relevance seems kind of tacked on, and its a bit too chaotic to keep up with
controls are good, as is the aesthetic. I like the wave effect.
Fantastic across the board; smooth controls, great use of theme, hilarious premise, good audio/graphics. I love the multiple endings :P
Pretty simple, but looks really good.
controls felt a bit loose, didnt really have anything to do with the theme, and trying to move and dodge things while appeasing the silly DDR mechanic was just cumbersome.
the energy restores fly by too quickly, if they pass you even slightly you cant catch them even by chasing them all the way back
well its gotta be 5 stars across the board, i just played it for half an hour. i like the steady buildup of power, from "oh no i have to defend my base how am i gonna get out to activate things aah build this turret faster" to "psh ill let that entire wave run into my base as i fly across the sky raining bullet time shots at my enemies, I have enough power gen" controls felt good, only complaint there would be to allow changing direction/speed while jetpacking, felt awkward being stuck going 1 direction/speed once you started. i like the use of light to disguise enemies and make you spend some of your early power lighting the way.
love the ability to name your character. Not the most mechanically complicated game, legends will speak of Smitty Werben Yager-Manjenson, who climbed to #1 (#2 technically) by only spamming slash. But very nice graphics, and cute audio, and fun despite its simplicity.
Well that was absolutely gorgeous both in visual; narrative, and sound. I wouldn't call it fun, but it was absolutely engaging, I stayed to the end. I also liked the cleverly disguised loading screens, only reason i could notice them was a brief hiccup in the music.
Well made but it might just be impossible.
The audio is delightfully retro, and the climbing is super smooth and satisfying, the game is certainly enjoyable, though i think it would be more so with some enemies as you mentioned on the games page. also, on one occasion i accidentally dug through the floor at which point i was stuck unable to do anything, and had to refresh the page, could use a kill box for if that happens, or make it impossible.
Lovely presentation, all the way down to the font. The controls are a bit loose, and collecting is a bit harder than it needs to be IMO, could do with just being walked over to pick up.
Fun game, I enjoyed it a lot. I'm not really understanding when it checks for heads, it seems like it should be every placement (like tetris?) but it's not. Otherwise, perfect execution of the theme and the game itself is fun. My other request would be different room layouts. But it was a lot of fun, the graphical style is great, and it was sufficiently challenging. Great job!
Fun game, very stressful! I found myself on the edge of my seat while playing. I agree that it's pretty hard and it seems strange that you can only move stuff out from the center to the bottom of the first carousel, rather than to any side. Overall, it's an innovative and fun game for sure. Could make for an addictive mobile game, and since it's fast paced it'd be great to play when standing in line or waiting for something.
Fun game. I like the simplicity and once you figure it out it's easy to get the hang of. Could use some music/sound effects but for starting on Sunday afternoon it's impressive. Nice work :)
Love the game, you implemented the theme well and as others have said, the visual and audio design is great. The game is well put together. The one visual bug I saw was that when you're walking north with the tommy gun, it looks like it's behind your back (it still appears on top of the sprite), but you can shoot and everything with it. Overall though, wonderful game!
I dig the aesthetic, sets the mood well, gameplay is simple but effective. nice!
Nice short game. I agree with some other comments about the collision problems, but overall once I figured out to use arrow keys rather than WASD I got it quickly (I recommend adding both options in future games). The sugar and clock didn't seem to do anything, but maybe you didn't have time to implement them quite yet. Regardless, a nice little concept!
I managed to get stuck in a spot without the help of the balls lol
I like the aesthetic, though i got that same bug as the other guy where it was going super fast and i was stuck at the back of the screen, started to make me a bit dizzy.
The interpretation of theme is hilarious (and painfully relatable), and the art and sound are good, though i feel the gameplay is a bit lacking, not just in terms of complexity but length :P I completed a game, but left game dev D: lets hope that isnt a prophecy!
Quite a simple game :P the clang sound is a bit loud and jarring.
This game is great, i love the possession mechanic, it meshes well into the normal turn based combat and creates some very engaging decisions. The art is simple but competently communicates what it intends, and the queens facial expressions changing with actions is a lovely bit of detail. Most importantly in my opinion, the game is really fun. I find a lot of game jam games forsake fun while chasing a theme implementation or more polish, but this ones enjoyable enough that i played it several times.
Good aesthetic and mood, i like the idea of the sacrifice mechanic, but it was a bit tedious in its implementation, especially in the areas with hazards.
Interesting game, i like the idea of having to choose which mechanics to sacrifice. Hand seemed really good, i kept it till it was my last one. could use diagonal shooting.
Great voice acting. I went through the whole game without killing any animals, i hoped i would get a different end for it but i suppose that's a bit much to expect from a jam game. The lack of a walk animation is probably my biggest complaint. The grappling vine mechanic felt very good.
I like the concept, i was enjoying myself while playing but it ended so soon, i expected it would just go till i died. Unless i actually did die by my tank getting one shot, not sure. either way good job EDIT: just noticed it goes 10 waves. i can read i swear.
I really like this one, it looks very nice, interprets the theme well and has some interesting mechanics! The tutorial menu could due with being a little bit more concise, it takes a bit if work to glean the gameplay relevant info with all the fluff, especially with the chosen font.
I stopped getting any cards on day 20 and lost shortly after as a result, but this is quite a fun game! The resources are fun to juggle around without being tedious, and the choices of optional event cards and demon cards feel nicely meaningful. EDIT: it seems to stop giving me cards after i take bank heist.
Gets a bit repetitive after a bit but the mechanics are solidly implemented and its a clever interpretation of the theme, i dig it. The audio and visuals mesh well too.
This might be the first Ludum Dare game I've given 5 stars across the board. I wouldn't be surprised to see this get at least top ten in several categories, the art is gorgeous and cohesive, the gameplay is smooth, the theme interpretation is great, even the level design is fantastic.
Dabbing for 10 seconds is WAY worse than the other downsides lol its like guaranteed death, hilarious game though, i enjoyed it.
Veeery slow, could use an increase in pace. Also i clicked on a cow walking by and got a ton of food? don't know if that was intended.
5/5 Hilarious game, and actually fun. My best record is 50 seconds, These thots are fast!
@rustycrow i finished adding the boss at like 6 PM flat, so i didn't have time to put in any fanfare :P good to know someone managed to clear it though! Thought it was rather easy but everyone has said it was too hard thus far xD
This game sets such a mood! so chill.
I like the visuals. The mechanic is interesting, but it gets a bit repetitive as the strategy is the same every round, run in circles till the melee enemies bunch up then kill them in top of a turret. Could use some more enemy types to vary things up.
Very easy, there wasn't really a point where i felt there was any danger of any enemies making it through, so the whole spending health thing didn't really matter, and even if i did spend all my health and anything did get through enough enemies would have died beforehand to heal me past the point it would matter. Also not ideal that the towers are just straight upgrades over the previous ones, strategy really just build the most expensive ones you can afford wherever they will fit. Could also use some visual feedback for what enemies the towers are shooting, at the very least healthbars. The last tower is so OP that i didnt need to do anything else after having bought it.
@mikejzx I wouldn't go that far. its still a competent tower defense game, it just has some complexity issues, it's a good time for a few rounds, and leagues better than my first ever Ludum Dare game :P (This was mine: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-26/?action=preview&uid=22382)
Well this is just fantastic, and I'm fully in support of any contributions to the turn-everything-into-waifus movement. Five star parking meter maid waifu here. Really frustrating though to have the police-chans standing on the meters every time a car shows up DX
controls feel good, though a few jumps are a bit tight. some more visual feedback when taking damage could be good. Feels like there isn't much point in having lives if you lose all your progress every time you die anyway, unless i'm missing something. also retracting spikes that are invisible when retracted feels like a cheap gotcha :P
Wow, god is rude. I love the art style, the premise is interesting, my biggest complaint is that you lose instantly if you get hit with no money, feels unnecessary, specially when i still have goods i can sell.
