Fun and meta game, it fits the theme very well.

regularjohn4 2017-08-01 02:19

Love the idea, it was fun to explore, but i got stuck holding some big white thing with a small white thing in it.

krathya 2017-08-01 03:29

So funny, a nice and round game

logiraffe-justin 2017-08-01 04:28

 Well done you two! Knowing that this is based on a true story is so cool while playing!

2017-08-01 04:57

I never should have tried playing this game...I now have to beat it...somehow. I wish the beer man would really just hand over the thing without making me traipse about gathering his 6-pack! Major kudos to you two for putting together such a fun game, so quickly. Now, back to the forest!

jason200101 2017-08-01 05:50

Really like it! Lot's of detail, like generators making sound if you're close to them! Like the side quests, like the beer one and the wind generator (Even though I can't find the 4th piece..., also what is the axe and that fishing rod used for?)

Great idea, great challenge, more than great game!

Edit: Found the 4th piece. You need to use the fishing rod on the lake... Don't know why I didn't try that. Also found where the axe is useful. On the top right there is a solar generator and you need the axe to get to it

ramou 2017-08-01 16:05

i loose ! but i want win ! i restart !

jason200101 2017-08-02 05:19

Hey! I found the best way to win! Okay, you need to grab the axe, combine it with the fishing rod, and forget all that that I just said and press 3.

I think you forgot to remove the debug play buttons, and when you press 3 all the battery meters go to 100%, and you can press it as many times as you like!

Edit: Pressing 4 will fill the progress bar of all characters. The quick way for a "Game Won" scene, and pressing 5 will close the game. It's the quick way to a "Game Over" scene

loadsofmana 2017-08-02 06:39

I'm flattered you took the time to play it thoroughly , and yes, I did in fact leave the debug buttons in, i have a habit of doing so for jam games, more out of a sense of mischief than negligence, i like to see if anyone finds them :yum:

samhunny 2017-08-03 05:10

I'm a sucker for a good story and that was a good one! I kept playing until you guys submitted! Didn't figure out what the light at the top right of the map is for. Pre charging the solar panel? Anyway, won without it and loved it!

bmacintosh 2017-08-03 05:30

You get so many meta points! Not only that, the game was very enjoyable to play because of all the hidden interactions to uncover. I have to admit I didn't figure out what the white cone things were for until I came and read the comments, though.

pbg 2017-08-03 15:28

Excellent! This is the jammiest game I've played. I played 3 times until I won! The frantic music really goes a long way to setting the mood. I love the little quests and everything. I don't know how much more this idea can be extended, but it was super-fun - one of the few games i beat, and DEFINITELY the only one i was willing to sit through multiple game overs for. I love that the game just shuts down if you lose. I gave this entry really high marks - awesome work.

funkyhippo 2017-08-04 10:56

This game is bloody amazing! This was way better than I anticipated.

The music is really well made and so incredibly catchy.

The gameplay is more than just "juggle this generator between the three developers" as there's collectables, a mission, light puzzles etc.

The art isn't really my cup of tea, but A+ for the effort and being able to produce as much of it as you guys did.

Overall; well done guys! this was a very enjoyable experience, kudos for that

eshudra 2017-08-04 11:47

Guys you rocks!

I really like the game and have a lot of fun with it.

It's pity that the game crashes when timer ends.

:metal: **Overall: 5**

anglain 2017-08-04 11:49

A ton of gameplay! I like this one much, actually. The art is rather simple, but it's OK for this. I also like the soundtrack, but I think I wanted to hear more sounds rather than only this one. But, of course, you did a really good job on the level itself! And all the interactions - holy balls...

 Overall: 5

gonutz 2017-08-04 21:19

Haha, nice way of teaching me, surrounding me with 3 rocks and 1 movable item! :-D

I cannot beat the game. This is very frustrating but that is the way it goes sometimes. Two guys get the solar thingy, the other one the generator. Then you run out of fuel and althogh I got all three to be almost done, they lose their progress when unplugged, I am not sure about this mechanic.

Anyway, the music is awesome and the graphics are mostly OK. The problem with the graphics is that you cannot really see what is what, it took me some time to make out the fishing rod, it looked like a pixel mess at first, but the real problem is those propellars or whatever they are. Only after reading the comments I knew what they were and what to do with them and when the whatever in the north started rotating I did not see it taking any effect. What are you supposed to do with that? I first thought it might blow away the clouds so the SUN generators work better, but that was not the case. What am I missing here?

The controls are off, sometimes space will not do anything, it seems that always after starting the game I pick up the generator and the first time trying to drop it, it does not work. Then sometimes when you pick up a generator you only can put it back onto a lightning square, then pick it up again and then you can put it anywhere.

There are some graphics glitches, the draw order is messed up sometimes, e.g. carrying the beer box over the bridge draws the bridge on top.

The gameplay is very long, making me think twice about going again, then on the other hand I have taken five attempts now so the game holds up even while it is very tedious. The map could have been smaller and the time shorter, would have been less frustrating.

Why does the game simply close when I lose. Shutting down the program is not the best way to end a game :-)

Overall this is a very cool idea, I spent a lot of time on this one, still I am a little frustrated by it.

Keep up the good work!

nanolotl 2017-08-06 08:28

This was pretty fun. Took a bit of work to figure out exactly how things worked, but that was part of the experience. Music really added to the feeling of a timer running out. Some of the picking up item collisions were a little wonky, but apart from that really well done.

badly-drawn-rod 2017-08-06 09:01

So, I've learned that the most important person in a project is the gopher, otherwise no one else would get any work done.

I liked the concept of combining things to make them work, as I kept going to see what I could do next. Very inventive.

randomphantom 2017-08-06 11:38

That was really awesome! Super meta. Love the nod to Zelda as well! Took some time to figure out the wind power which doesn't really make sense (thought it was an icicle for the beer), would prefer the character to run faster (while having a faster time limit). The solar generators seemed pretty useless given the cloud cover. I tried like 4 times and it grew slightly tedious, but was still fun. Didn't realize you had to "submit" at the end! I managed to get all the generators (not sure if i cleared all the jerry cans)! To echo above, found issues with controls in terms of putting down the power generator sometimes. Graphics were serviceable although the colors were a bit jarring, also noted some z-ordering issues and the text was a bit tiny. Great job and it sounds like you guys had fun jamming in the woods. BTW sound robot was awesome!

elizabeth-thomas 2017-08-06 16:43

I love this game. I think everyone here can relate to racing that deadline bar while making a game. I notice that when carrying an object over the bridge the object goes under. Other than that I thought that they were fun graphics. I like that each character looks kind of like a normal person that might be making a game and the musician is sort of demonic looking. The music is amazing and I really like how it fits with everything else. This game is a lot of fun I like that there are a lot of different dynamics to the game play and that you have to think strategically a little to win. I definitely spent my first go running around like an idiot grabbing gas for the generators and taking them back and forth and not trying to build anything else.

I hate that it just shuts down when the deadline bar runs out or when you submit.

risingoat 2017-08-07 15:42

So many details... And any of us can easy related. That's setting a mood.

I had fun exploring, but it's true, the shut down thing is a little anticlimactic. Anyways, great game an concept!

I love your game so much, I was wondering if you’d be interested in participating at my club’s fundraiser event with it? You can read about the event here: https://gamdevguild.wixsite.com/gdgo/single-post/2017/07/23/Indie-Game-Cafe-Event

Ha, this is a cute idea! My main complaint is that walking feels awfully slow, and after some point when you know you can't make it, it becomes frustrating because you neither want to start all over, nor continue. So I would suggest increasing the walking speed, or add a "sprint" button. The small puzzles feel fair, even though I'm not sure what the whiplash and the axe do. Maybe they're just decorative?

I really like the music! The graphics work, and especially the animations are enjoyable! Thanks for making this! :)
