This is what defines (or should define) Ludum Dare games imho! Very simple game, well scoped, super easy to grasp concept, contains some bugs and follows theme greatly!
Good job on execution and it's very creative idea following theme!
Few bugs - things to add: - no music :( - no menu - if you build it for PC there is no way to exit game from full screen other than ALT+F4 - jumping is bugy - you can hold down up arrow and it jumps from platform to platform instantly - collisions - sometimes you can hang from side of platform - it should be obvious for player - you are ON the platform or OFF the platform - not in between :)
- player separation - MAIN BUG TO FIX (for me) like few ppl said before you have moments where right screen is not sync with left screen. If you wanted this as feature - this is not good idea - main goal in this game is to FIND DIFFERENCES - when you separate left from right screen - you make this game for player impossible to win - it's punishin player for no reason (they did nothing wrong in the game) - This is really bad.
I know what you did there - you made 2 players and you are steering them both with one input - this is bad because there are rounding errors in physic calculations or matrix transformations (if you would not use physic but kinematic rigidbody instead) What you should do is: - option 1: have one player, 2 cameras, rendering additional differences only on one camera, not the other - with layers in unity - option 2: have 2 players, steering only one of them, 2nd is only rendered where first is (clonePlayer.transform.position = mainPlayer.transform.position)
There are other options as well but i think this is more than enough for your purposes :)
I get a little bit technical above and maybe a little bit negative - but i think your game is one of greates ideas (very creative) in this LD!
