Love the pixel art! And very funny too :)
I enjoyed the whack-a-mole gameplay and made it through day 6. Although the crying was annoying, it was perfectly suited to the game, and the variations made it amusing. I had to try overfeeding the baby just to see the cute animation. If overfeeding was more of a risk, the theme would have been higher.
Congratulations on finishing the jam!
This is a nice mini-game. It gets a bit repetitive with time, but it works. Also, the audio makes it specially hilarious!
Hahaha that's pretty funny! Love the sound effects! But I hate them at the same time lol.
Congrats on finishing!
Hahaha nice. Wheeeeeeeee! Gave up on Day 5.
Ahah, amazing, love everything, from concept to crying babies, that's a smart funny game ! :)
Thanks :)
This is my favorite game so far! Really fun and intense, nice humor and fits the theme well. I loved it great job! :D The idea is excellent.
My favorite LD40 game so far. The sfx are perfect. I bet you had fun recording and programming those in. Impressive graphics as well.
I really like your idea! The game is pretty fun. I found a little bug. When you complete a level and the great job thing will pop up and you are holding your left click on the baby, then the "feed the baby" sound will be repeating ...
Overall I really like your game. Well done!
ok, thanks for response and finding the bug, I'll fix it after work
:D haha! nice execution of the theme :D maybe make a setting for the loudness and while your at it make that setting for the real world :D
Thanks! Yeah I'll make a patch for real world, to make children more quiet :P I'll get their vocals a little bit lower, and random...
@tvance yeah I was almost rolling on the floor laughing when I started the game with 5 children, every one with my voice and random pitch XD
Really great work! I love the randomized pitches cuz my babies all ended up having super deep voices that were cracking me up. Great audio and visuals and it fits the theme really well. It kinda reminds me of my game that's with chickens instead of babies: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/too-many-chooks
Nice to hear that! I'll check your game and rate it!
This game is great fun but also stressful at the same time! :) Nailed the theme. I'm sure this game will do well!
Well done. It's great to play a game where the audio is nearly as important as the graphics. Definitely something I could aspire to...
I wonder if adding another mechanic would make this game too complicated? Like maybe adding baby food. That might be too stressful though.
I enjoyed how the difficulty of the game scaled. It began easily enough, teaching you how the mechanics of the game work and then quickly ramped up the difficulty until my clicks per minute were far too high. Good job on this game.
I enjoyed the game but the baby cries can get real annoying when there are more than 6 of them.
Oh man, kudos to this poor parent :D I've only finished 6 levels so I don't know how it plays after that, but one way to increase the difficulty would be to introduce finite milk which you need to replenish.
Anyway, nice job and thanks for rating my game, really appreciate it ;)
Very nice bro! I love this art! :D
@ThePelranthean and @sidewalksleeper yeah the initial idea was that the difficulty would go higer and higher because of additional mechanic: you have to refill the milk and later even heat it if it's too cold!! (it has to be right temperature for children). Eating could be different minigame or something. I thougt also about diffrent levels, like walk to school (and watch out for them) etc.. So it could be a game consisting of a few minigames
Awesome sound design kept me laughing :D Great introduction to gameplay, fun game overall.
Hi! Nice pixel art :) I got the idea but the sound is too annoying... I see a good audience for your game in mobile ;)
Very cool game! As a parent, I must say it's very realistic :D we had the similar idea, was thinking on raising kids - the ones that were raised right would then move out and send you money, the ones neglected would stick around, and take money from you :D
@Arek Hahahaha wouldn't it be too real? Would be funny for sure! In Poland the government pays 100$ for every children you have. I could change this game a little bit... :D
@arputikos No siema ;) Not only in Poland, child benefits are quite popular in UE. But, let's not lead the discussion this way ;D
Would be cool if we can use the 100 dollar benefit as a base for gameplay - every new child gives you additional income of 100$, but rising them cost a lot more. So you need to neglect them a bit to get positive cash flow from this investment. The catch is, that if you neglect them too much, child support will take them away, so you will lose.
Dammit I wish I had this idea before the Jam :P
Haha no ładnie! Gdzie się można spotkać :P Yeah maybe I'll make business game where you have to walk with children to school, feed them, make them sleep etc... and it's your job, you want to have more children to have more money from government but not so much because you won't manage it ... XD
5/5 in audio and humor because I had to pull my headphones off when I had a screen full of dying babies. Great game!
nice little game, gets repetitive quick but as the difficulty gets more challenging it strangely keeps you hooked. Interested to see if you could add anything else to keep it interesting.
like giving them something to distract them for a period of time or food instead of milk or they need changing/cleaning up
Very nice mini-game. The LD40 theme is nicely understood. Fun to play. Just maybe not very ambitious. Good job/
The sound design really amused me, same as the graphics. The gameplay is a bit basic but effective, which is nice. Diversity would have been great: outfits colors or hair, anything that can make the player think this is not the exact same baby. Great job anyway :)
Yeah there was meant to be 4 children but when I started making animations... It's not a lot of work, but I didn't have time yet to do it :) and it's meant to be game consisting of a few mini games btw!
I laughed so hard when i heard those children crying with low pitch voice i almost spit my screen XD
Really cool entry, nice graphics and what i really like about this game that you can tell that you did all of it yourself! Great job!
So fun to play hahahah!!!
Definitely a catastrophe when more and more babies to feed.
Very well done! Awesome!
That's some annoying babies to feed xD Nice game that responds perfectly to the theme, and funny pixel art for the graphics too! Too bad i ended up wanting to shut the sound down with all those cries, but heh, that's part of the "worse" haha
Found this quite amusing, could be nice if later on they had more needs as well. Also the sound seemed to go a bit strange when there where too many babies crying.
Best parent simmulator I have seen!
This game gets pretty frantic really quick. It's well done and the graphics are great. The sound of the babies crying is grating in just the right way to evoke the theme. Nice work!
Wow not what I was ready for. The tension was epic. I was pleased to keep 6 alive but my wife was losing it in the background. Really captured the new born cry craziness. Great job.
Check it out! https://youtu.be/ZRqywUmMqgs
@indie-gaming Hey! Nice, thanks for playing! The mouse button can be held, so you don't have to click so fast!
Good to know! :)
But you DO NOT want to keep them alive! XD Good game!
"The game is the real life!"
The strategy is really simplistic, but this was at least entertaining for a bit. Interestingly enough, the only way to deal with a huge family is to just cycle attention between each child on a regular schedule and ignore all of the others until they are about to die. Hmm....maybe that's a bit too realistic.
Unfortunately I can take a formulaic approach to playing through it, just going from one child to the other. (Not sure what would work in real life..) Would try to focus more on your game design next time! (Moving babies, having to wind them, some more needy/hungry than others, etc.) The sound and humour is great though, and holds this entry together nicely.
erf, i want them dye !! :) their screams are so annoying !!
Ever been to a pig slaughter house? Me neither, but I imagine it pretty much sounds like this.

A fittingly frustrating and exasperating game. It's a thing of beauty. I loved the art, and the intro music was very catchy. And when it's time to play, well, the sounds are what you'd expect in a home full of hungry babies.
If you manage to continue playing through bleeding ears, this game is fantastically crafted. Simple in execution, yet it adheres to the theme so well, and it's very polished.
I like to see that you're still updating it. I can only wonder how far you're willing to take this game. You might want to get your ears checked from all the constant crying you're probably subjecting yourself to tho. [In behalf of my team](twitter.com/whalesandgames), we're looking forward to seeing your future projects! Cheers! :whale:
It's a nice detail that the children scream in different pitches. It makes them stand out more as individuals.
The idea is pretty cool! But it's stressful at the same time. This game proved to me that I'm not ready to be a parent yet haha
Oh no, it's enough for me to be a parent in real life. But according to the reviews, this game is just as hard as living with a baby. But to be honest, it's impossible to imagine what it's like to be a parent. It was impossible to sleep well in the first year, but it gets easier with time. Especially now that my daughter can play toys without my support, and I even bought her a wooden playground on this website https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seije/snake-ladder-climbing-playground-for-kids-1-7-yo?ref=d77866&utm_source=goodevas_gl&utm_medium=post , so she would be even more entertained, and now I can just sit and watch over her, but in the past, I'd have to be right next to her to make sure she does everything right.
I want to take the child from the orphanage very much. My husband supports me in this, but he does not understand children. It's like he's never seen a baby. I think this simulation would help him tighten up his "parent" skills, and maybe I should try this simulator, too. The adoption agency: https://fosterplus.org helped us to enroll in the courses for future parents. My husband said he would not attend these courses because he thinks they are stupid. He thinks being a father is easy, but it's not.
