I like the little badass brother and the humor.
The mechanics are so simple but it works so good.
I wish it to play it with climbing and hit sounds. :)
It was a really relaxing expierence for me. Thank you. :)
I like the sounds and I love that feeling to be more and more tinier when the room grows to the next level.
But I tested at the first try all the buttons and the Q and the Z button are buttons to move and with the M button can you grow the room. Was this your intension? :o
I love the art style really much.
And at first I thought 'how can I escape the room' and than came this sad story about her dad and the tragical ending.
I like it! :)
Well that game represents a bad life. It feels so depressive to live in such a tiny room...and your food is a cube.
I also love/hate the work on the computer. It is an interesting idea to compare the letters with the text.
And the beach where I cannot more buy because I am poor through the work.
Great experience. :)
Simple and great game concept.
I like the camera shader and at first the sounds reminds me of Lavender Town of Pokemon Red/Blue. Than I watched in youtube after this Pokemon sound but it was not like your sound. But the strange feeling what I got at the time I've played your game was the same as in the past in Lavener Town. :D
Well that was a funny narrative. The plot twist with the second demon was wonderfull. Great work dudes. :D
It took me 13 deaths to win your game. Was harder than a Dark Souls game. xD
But sounds would be nice.
Well that was an unexpected experience.:D
At first I thought 'It's Saw and I know what will happend whith his hand.' and than came the adds. It was so strange and funny.
And I like the Mr Freeman achivement.
But in my opinion could have the character more pixels. More Details. It breaks a bit with the well painted background.
Well that was a nice old school feeling what you gave me. :)
I think it can be a bit harder. My half room was qickly filled with these weppons.
The sound was as great as the art style. Nice Work guys!
I would play more of these tactical games.
The humor with slapping penguins which steal your life are great.
And the hook reminds me on that alien creature of Prometheus. :o
By the way. I have changed my downloader on my game page and you can download it know from itch. :)
It's great to see that you used your own engine.
The zombies were to the end to many for me. Or the room was too small for these number of enemies.
As I picked up the big box in the middle of the room I fought I can hide me in it because the camera clipped trough. xD Would be a nice feature to hide yourself for the zombies until you are out of their view.
Damn I died in the first try.
But after I realized that I can jump was it easy. :D
Nice short game.
More types of attack animation would be cool.
I made a X and finally this game. Yeah! :D
Youre art style ist wonderfull. But I think the ambient occlusion level can be less.
As I saw your galow I search after an other way to escape and than came this little bomb.
And your game exit with your escape was a great idea. :)
Well that's challenging but I like it very much. :D But what would be the end boss? A black hole because of his huge gravitation? :o
The link works now. :)
Yeah. :/ I wanted to draw more but at the end there was no more time left fo this. The programming part was much more important.
Awesome game. I played it with a friend and it was really challenging. Sometime the ball was stucked in a loop between down and up. I also liked the fish eye effect with the glass sphere. :)
I love this combination with 3D and really raw pixel art. :) And the bunny can fly a bit right? I wanted to fly to this strange black thing in the background and I also tried to jump on these huge rocks but never succeeded. For your first jam it's cool.
The art style is wonderful. I liked also the idea of multiple small world with an rotation when you are a bubble. :) But the music stoppted when I was in the second world. :o I want to play more difficult worlds. :D Keep on guys. :D
Well that was an interesting experience. I had had no clue what I have to do. And I always read all the these messages. At the end the game shows me the plottwist of these strange messages. That surprised me reaelly. :) But I think the player should pick up some of these messages. Maybe not all but some of them and they will fill his energy a bit but never complete and than the player dies. And when more guys play your game than would be more in your game world because they died. And only a few player will get enough energie to win the game. In this way the plottwist would be much greater. Or can you pick up these things? When yes I have not figured out how. O.O Thanks for this game expirence. :D
Nice Point & Click. It reminds me of 'Day of the Tentacle'. The idea of calculating exponential numbers is smart. I also liked the graphic style but the light of the car don't fit in. Sounds would be great.
Great game. The music fits perfect to the art style. I like the way how the text in bubble was shown. But to the beginning I don't figured out who the antagonist is. At first I thought it has to be the crow because he wants to teach the students one day more and more and more ... xD I enjoyed the the gameplay. Thanks guys. :)
Your game looks awesome. I preferred the fast gameplay with the sword. :) But is it possible to buy something in your shop? Because I clicked several buttons but nothing happend.
Wow. What a complex game. :o I love these strategy stuff. But it would be more enjoyable if I could see what are the abilities makes direct in the skill tree. Because to switch every time to the help window is contra productive for the game flow. Thanks for this long gameplay. :)
Hah the devilish disney green? :) I'am really impressed by your great level design and the explanation through the game world how the game mechanics of the player works. The only thing I not like is the movement with WASD. It was sometimes confusing for me. Maybe it could be better to control with the mouse? Try it. :D
The music is so fantastic. :D In the beginning I didn't realized that I had a rocket boost but after this slow motion start it starts to feel great. And all these different types of enemys are really cool. I liked the tentacle things because there were two ways to interact whith them. One of my favorite game submissions I have seen. :)
Great work. I like the idea of these connections. And the art style of these robots are also nice. :) The physic was really crazy sometimes. And I think the loading sound of the robots is too muffled. Could be higher so that you can expect a charging and not a discharge. And is it your own engine which you used?
Interesting gameplay to hold a key down and release him to jump. But I missed in your game a kind of obstacles or any feeling of surprise or reward. :o And I think (like many others) that the music and art style fits together very well because it gives you that moody ambiance which is great vor your slow gameplay. :)
I love the art style and especially the little dying animation. But the music could be more intense. And it could be a bit more challenging. All in all, it's a really great game. :)
Nice game. I tried to win the game with no shooting but than came the last Enemy and I was too nervous so I shot him down. xD Yay, I beat the game with one Enemy dead. Soundfeedback would be cool. Keep going. Was a lot of fun. :)
Great first game. :D It would be more challenging when the uncharged things would give more feedback to the player. For example the fridge starting to drone. Backgroundmusic would be nice too. I loved to play with the batteries and at the end I have build a chimney on the roof. xD
Note: I have upload a Post-Jam version of my game. You can enter the door now. :)
In the 4th I was really frustrated. I was more then one time soooo close to the next level door. At first I thought 'nope no more I give up' but then I tried again and I was so addicted to the following levels. I love the soundtrack and your leveldesign. :D But: In one level it was possible to jump the wall up and I could see there was a small way filled with coins. But through the wall slide I wasn't able to get in this tiny path. :o
Nice Idea. I got it so close to the first corner and than ... Boom ! Dead again. xD Yeah, fix the collisions and it would be great to play.
Great game. Was a lot of fun and really challenging. :D The art style is nice and you builded a menu too, that's awesome.
Interesting gameplay. Your art style and especially the music tracks are great. :) Keep going. By the way, I have uploaded a post jamn version of my game. You can now enter the door. xD The next level wasn't finished at the end of the jam.
At first I thought it is a kind of memory game but than the game said to me game over. xD After this mistake I playd your game in the way it should be. But it's never ending right? Really simple concept. It would be on tablets or smartphones more enjoyable as with the mouse.
Well that was an interesting experience. I like your visual style and also the storytelling part through new discovered satallites. The music tells the player great where a next orbit is. Well done. :) But once I stucked on the surface of a tiny planet and I could not get away from it.
Btw: I have added animations into my Post-Jam version. It contains also a much bigger level than the original Jam version. :)
The AI of your minions is great and evilish. :D It's really funny to see how they interact with the world. But they also steal your Oxigen. :o But at some point I couldn't figure out what I have to do. e3re.png Have I jump on some of the minions when they steal the oxigen? I bet something I have overlooked . :/
That's an awesome art style dudes! I love the animations and the humor. I also played your version 1.1 and I it's now much more enjoyable. Great work. It feels now better when you have many enemies to shoot and the screen shaking is well done. But I think the movement is have a specific destination like a boss at the end of the level or a highscore you have to reach. I hope I will see more? :D I love it!
@elfcirynn the connection to theme were the missiles. I added a maxium possible count of missiles. But I guess not many would get to this point. xD And yeah, the controls were bit strange. Do you think the inverted controls were a bad idea? Maybe I add in the next version a option to change the controls.
Verry simple gameconcept but works so well. :D My eyes are hurt. I had to focus on so many cars. Was funny. It would be interesting to see other kinds of vehicles like buses or motorbikes. :D
I love the idea that you have to manage your space with the cubes because they can kill you. I think it would be more enjoyable when youre cube combination is not only 3 horizontal or 3 vertical. Maybe it would be interesting when it comes to bigger combination of formes like in Puyo Puyo or Tetris? I also like the minimalistic concept. At first I thought it could be boring to have no backgroundmusic, but I guess you wanted that the player is more focused and that's good. Because too much sounds could stress you and the tiny cube sounds are really enough. Great work dude! :D
After I drove a few laps I noticed that the whole town looked like after a bombing attack and I saw in the corners of some collapsed buildings that some cars are stucked. I helped them so that they could find their way back to the road. Then I decited to do the opposite and I tried to push some building parts on the road ... but they were too many cars. Was a lot of fun. xD And yeah, it would be great as couch co-op. Because than you would have a real opponent and you both would try to reach the goal or lap count. Do it dude and we see us on the road. :D
Your game concept of bying things which give you speed and juming height to avoid the negative effects of your world is interesting. At some points it was a bit annyiong because I stucked on the ground. But for your first plattformer it wasn't bad, especially that you created this all in 15 hours. :O I like the level design that you have so much things to discover but I never get it to point where I can buy the WTF bracelet. After I reading what it does it sounds not so useful. xD
I had some similar problems like you in my last LD the 39th with my game GREED. Yeahr, the name is quite similar with yours. It was my first platformer too. :D I think if you create a game where you will punished for only beeing in the world or waste too much time, there has to be a higher reward if you overcome it. And I think it would be more gracious if you don't loose the item bonus when you die. Because you collect so much coins than you lost them and you have no option to get the same coins back.
Maybe this is now a bad example but in dark souls you can collect souls from enemies and they die, but if you die you lost all your souls but the eneemies respawns. So you have ever the chance to get the same amount of souls back. It's often a balancing thing and maybe it is something what you can use in your post jam if you intended to create one. :) I would play it!
Hehe. I love your space ship fish design. Or space fish ship? xD I think this kind of gameplay is more for a co-op. Do you know 'Brothers A Tale of two Sons'? It has the same controls. But it was nicer to play together with a friend. And yeah, overlapping is a good Idea. After that I managed to defead the boss. And great placed enemy waves. Did you put sounds in the game? :O
Wow, that was interesting. I had a lot of fun after I realized wich weapon has which abillity. Sometimes it was a bit annoying because I didn't know if I made currently some kind of progress in the labyrinth or not. I mean, I didn't know where the door is and so I'm running multiply times through the same places. But I'm impressed how much you have done in this short time. :0 The gameplay is great and also the art style. I love the tactical aspect and the atmosphere was really alien. :D By the way, my first encounter with this red guy was short and deadly. I guess I will play it aigain later for revenge.
Really good. I especially liked that you have a long feeling of 'you do not know if you arrive somewhere or not'. This insecurity has contributed much to this rather sad and depressing atmosphere.
And when I played it through and saw the deer lying on the floor, I thought that was my former body. I let myself be killed, but that was not the case. You could still do that. The more often you get shot, the more depressed it gets. However, this would probably lessen the feeling of not knowing if you arrive. Because everywhere you could see the corpses as points showing a progress. Hm. Maybe you can just try it and see what the reactions of the players are.
At first I like the Zork intimation and also the humor in your scenes. :D But I couldn't solve any of your riddles. Maybe because I'm not the best in the english language. The only puzzle I've solved was the one which you spoilerd. xD Anyway, I love your world and that was enough for me to be happy. I like also your soundtrack. Is really old school but that was maybe your intention.
@iceeye @rodrigo-molina @player-2 The link works. :D
@monetai @joschi I am really sorry for this. D: Usually something would have been activated at the altar by the balls. The problem has now been solved. It was just a missing tick on one of the prefabs. Chek it out now. Everything should work.
@iokin We will check it out. :D And a mac build is coming soon.
@noah-beckman Thank you. :D Well, we wanted to create a more 'walk around and try things out' experience, but It can definitely improved. If you have found the new created thoughts than you have reached the end of the content. And yes, we planned to work a bit more on this project and want to do more beautiful stuff. And I will check out your game today too. :)
@plopsis What for errors? I had never seen something of this before. Could be problematic if this happens more often. D:
Yeah, maybe the theme is not so obvious. We wanted to take more the abstract idea of 'Running out of space' because it's often related to physical situations. So we wanted to go in a non-physical direction. It is the space in your mind. :D
@marin0104 Yes, you have to fire these stars to create new thoughts. :D
@landberglife Really thanks for that advice. We will improve this. :)
@talia Tank you. That means a lot for me to hear that I have become better at making games. But you also.:D
@tuism Not yet but we will upload one soon. I inform you if that happens. :)
@xarras Thank's. :D Yeah, at the beginning of the Ludum Dare, we planned to implement much more storytelling than we currently have.
@aayush Yeah, thank you. But how you did this and what happened exactly? Do you mean this thin thing in the sky? :o
@kokonaught Yeah, maybe the theme in our game is not so obvious. We wanted to take more the abstract idea of ‘Running out of space’ because it’s often related to physical situations where things shrink or become less. So we wanted to go in a non-physical direction. It is the space in your mind and some thoughts takes sometimes too much space and blocking us in our daily life. :D And thank's for the QWERTY advice. The funny thing is, that my keyboard is a QWERTZ. xD
@aayush Ah, I understand. I will see if I can fix this. Thank's for the bug report. :)
@kiirohanabi Haha. The funny fact is that I didn't knew that a meteor shower was on the weekend. I found out only yesterday about that and was very surprised by this coincidence. :D
@n-feofentov If you have found the new created thoughts than you have reached the end of the current existing story. And thank you! I will improve it by time. :)
@coomzy Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, the graphical aspect is something we could'nt fix at the end of the LD. But we will do this in a later version. :) And yes, it's true that we used some sounds from this page. We only made the soundeffects by ourself but not the nice ambient background music. We were not sure if we should accept a rating or not. So, you are probably right because the most of the people have rated in this categorie because of the nice ambient track.
@namnam Thanks. :) In the coming days I will also explain how I did the clouds.
@virtual-turtle-studio Oh, that makes us happy. Not many see the LD theme in our game because we have used it maybe a bit too abstract for a jam. xD And we will make a polished post-jam version of this in couple of days. Will not so much bigger but maybe more beautiful as now.
@nam-nguyen Spoiler: Once you have found the "secret", you can shoot the stars from other positions. ;) And yes, we will do a post-jam version.
@toboggan Thanks for the advice. We will make the UI more handy in the next version. :)
@rayne Maybe soon. :D
@lndrstrll We are really proud of these clouds too. We will make a tutorial soon how we have made these. :D
@tuism Thanks man. :D Yeah, we changed really often something in the leveldesign and at the end we simply missed to bake it. And maybe it would be looking different as now ... so if we do it now it would maybe influence the graphical category and because of this we doing this in the post jam version. :) And the secret lies in a ... secret place. xD I can link you if the Post Jam version is released, if you want. Then you can try it again. ;)
@anastasiats The only "goal" for us was more that the player explore this world and feel good by wondering about all. You can create new thought and read them and that's it. I think games are more experiences which we create for other peoplse and sometimes they have no goal no end only the feeling to be in this creative world. (I know thats really abstract xD)
@wrenpirate Thank you for your advices. :D And there is no really story in there. Because to the end of the jam we had not so much time left to implement all thoughts. And it's only about these thoughts, about the thoughts everybody has sometimes and which block us in our daily life so that we have no room for other thoughts and things we could do. Hope that explains it a bit.
I really liked the game. Escpecially the art style. But after you know the controls it's a bit short because if you have a good reaction time you can fly quite directly to the last point on the map. There was no need for me to get the extra life points. A bit more challange would be cool. Maybe every level is a bit different and some of them are really hard and others more easy to get your life back. The flying feels great and fluid. The zoom could be bit more slower. Because the jump from normal speed to high speed was a bit too fast. Overall a good game. :D
It touches my heart. Thank you really for this because it has addressed issues with which I can identify well. It's really magical how such tiny games can touch people. Maybe because they are made with so much heart and express the own experience, the own struggle with life and they are maybe a mirror for the one who have created that. That may be the reason why we do and like art. To express ourselves and to find ourselves in that. I have a bit this feeling that I can see the human behind this story.
Anyway it's overall a great game. I have only one thing which I found improvable. I had the impression that the memories with Camilie are the most of memories which exist. But other thoughts seemed to have no obvious connection to others. So I had many slots wich I used only once. Maybe an indication how many connecting thoughts you got and how many more you need could be good. Nice entrry. One of the most loving stories I have read so far at the LD. Keep doing such things!
By the way, we have had a really similar concept. We have also done a game that plays in the mind, but it's maybe more abstract I guess. :D
Really great design. :D At first I failed really often. Than I realized thad I only have to build as much metal factories as possible. After this it was really easy, but also creates a kind of flow. Build factories. Build metal cubes. Build factories. Build metal cubes.
Maybe it could happend something in the late game that challange the player a bit more. Like an event like rocks who crashed with your island and trough this 3 blocks instead of 1 blocks are falling down.
The Soundscape makes a lot too. And your artystyle is really cool but I knew this already because I've watched your posts while the LD. :D
I think the idea is really great to use only the numbers to go further. Has a touch of a couch party game where everyone has one try and than has to give the keyboard to the next. And the art is also really well done. I like espiacally the design of the the alien. :D But I could't beat the second level. These spikes are not good for my mental health. xD That's because I said it could be a good party game. Anyway, I like it. Well done. :)
I really like the art style of this game and the soundtrack but it is currently a bit too hard. Maybe you can make a post jam version soon because it's nice but I don't want to get too frustrated to start with zero after dying. :D
And what also was a bit odd was the inconsistency with the interaction. Because you interact with the npcs with E but after that you have to click with the mouse. You should avoid switching between inputs while you do the same thing like interacting with npcs. Anyway, great game idea and I looking forward to more. :)
Well, quite long after the start I realized that I can create a shild. I'v played also at the beginning with an xbox controller. The controls with him feels much better and creates a better flow for the player. You should definitly put the spacebutton an one of the controller buttons. And I like also the simple background music even if it repeats irregularly. All in one a solid theme fitting compo game. Thank's for the experience. :)
I like it. Especially the simplistic style. It's short and and gives a really nice misty feeling to the player. I felt a bit lost (in a good way). The only thing I found strange was the offset of the waves. Sometimes I got a bit of motion sickness. Maybe reduce a little bit this or change the camera movement is enough. And a big praise to the componist. Music makes so much. Love this simple track. :D
You've created a really heartbreaking story. :( I like it but I felt me so down after I read the last screen. The single screens has also a really good design. Good job. :D
I have only some advices for you. It was not so pleasant for me to read the text if it was not horizontal. Another thing is that the music could be in a loop because some people are not the fastest readers and then a lot of atmosphere is lost when the song stops in the middle.
@megalink @kiirohanabi I think a narrative category is really difficult to handle. Because the narrative can not only be a text. It can also be the audio, the graphic aspect (tell a story through the enviroment) or can be told by the gameplay itself because a action in the world give you response about the world and the character(also have all games a narrative, more or less). And I think the narratavie is already to seen in the ratings. Because it influence the mood, the theme (you have got the most stars from me there) the fun and the humor. And maybe many people will not see a narrative if there is no text.
Really nice car physics. :D It was really funny to destroy everything. But the Cows have a really sad ending. Their body parts tear apart ... But at the end I had one problem. I don't know if you fixed it in later Version, because I've only played the original LD submission. At the end when you have again all you bus houses on you I have not found a single child. D: So I was only in chaos mode and destroyd every house. xD
Really simple game and i like especially the simplistic visual style. My highest score was 795. And the movements of the enemies are not random I guess? Because I saw very often the same pattern in the movement. So exists an end? :o
sabsgame2.png
And I've found an another genre in your game. Hide and Seek. Where am I? :D
Dude, I like your game especialy your colors and your sounddesign. It's a really good feeling for me when I collect something and put it on a place and then hear after this action this long hall sound. It has also a kind of mobile game touch. Would work as well.
To the controls: I can agree with the others and I don't agree with the others. I think it's hard to say what's better, because it comes by the already existing experience of the players which controls they prefer and which not. The only thing you can do is to make two options to choose for the player, but that's something for later I guess. And than it depends also if you play with the keyboard or with a controller. I tested it and with controller it feels a bit weird but with the WASD Keys it works for me.
And you said it would be a really relaxing game, but I disagree to 50 percent. What it makes relaxing is the soundscape and the whole presentation of the game. The gameplay itself is to the end really challanging. What works against a relaxing state. BUT it is a good combination of it in your game because of your delicious sounds.
That's all. :) And please make more levels. Maybe in a post jam version(?) :D
@antoined73 Oh yeah, I know these games. I've only played Flow and Journey but the others I know as well. :)
What all these games have in common is that they have no time pressure or a lose state. It's all about you and to be in this world. About the wondering and exploring. I'm inspired too of these games. That's the reason I wanted to do a relaxing exploration games in this Ludum Dare too. But I also inspired by Dark Souls. Not by the combat system more of the exploration and wondering of the world and leveldesign. :)
Anyway, I think you should not quit this direction your game goes, because I think it's a really good game because of this challange factor. But If you want to do only a really pure relaxing game than you should throw a way all the time presure and make more exploration and tell tiny stories through the enviroment maybe. Maybe you explore more a giant sea and take peaople sometimes with you and bring them to other places or to other people and they are a kind of happy or gave you a story hint about the world. You can make blockades for the player so that it's harder to get to these stranded peaople. But do not do a lose state!
And get a controller and try the controls out. It is really more enjoyable with it.
Btw, I really want to see in which direction you go with your game. Have you a twitter account so that we can follow each other? https://twitter.com/NORRIMO I will continue the work on my game too and change some things a bit. :D
@antoined73 Haha thanks. I've followed you everywhere too. xD You are welcome. It's for me as well good to give these comments. I think that people learn so much about what for games they want to make while thinking about good game critism. You ask yourself what was good or not and WHY? That's mabye the reason why I've currently spend more time in the writing of comments as to play the LD games. But thats ok. I have fun with it. :)
And I found this. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/lighthouse Check it out. It need ratings and maybe it inspires you.
**This boss fight was great, but I could not beat him. I wonder what comes next. ** ;)
Well done. You have made me that I waited at the end felt 5 minutes. What wasn't so bad, beacause I really enjoied the soundscape.
**Spoiler. Don't read this. Play the game at first:**
But I wondered why I've waited. Maybe it was because the introduction into the game was well placed or the music or the simplistic art style. I thought at the beginning that this texts about a extraordinary adventure could not be this what they seems to be. And so I was excited what comes next. And I realize now that you have plant a kind of curiosity into my mind so that I wanted more.
Maybe curiosity is one of the greatest drives to play games. So, you have something beautiful done. Keep this ability to make people wonder. But sometime it would be also good to reward the player for the curiosity, because it could be happen that you could be disappoint the player. It's a hard balancing between rewarding and only let him wondering about the situation. For me I can say I was really curious until I reached the 5 minutes mark.
Anyway. I loved the complementary combination between your art style and the music. Keep doing such games and have a nice day. :D
Was a really funny game for me until I reached the 'Nope' Level. I guess it was lvl 6. Than it becames really frustrating. I think the fall speed was a bit too fast or the drag controls too slow. Anyway, the art style is really cool and it it has a lot of humor. :D
What have I played??? xD You people rock. This was the most humor game I've played so far in this LD. Thanks for that. The music fits great too. And I liked also the dialogues of the apple and the pear with the cucumber(I guess?) In the end I wasn't able to beat the hot delicious potato. But that's ok. I had my fun.
So many dooooogs! :o ld_dragonmaze.png
I really like the idea behind this to avoid at first the most of the enemies but I don't know really how long I have to do this until I get to the next level. You should show the player how many waves are left. I've played until wave 8. xD
And what I found strange was this twitch link in the game. I know as a streamer you want to get people who are wanna watch your stream but you should avoid this as a game designer. Because a game is an experience and thats irritating if you click on the a link by mistake and than you have to go back into the game to play it. It really reduces the experience for the player. Keep this in mind. Make good games and than make outside of the game a link and than people will follow
Hey I wanted to play your game in the browser because your game is no longer available in the dropbox but it lags too strong so that I couldn't enjoy it enough to get to end. Can you please upload your game on dropbox again? I really want to play it. :D
Thanks @saering the game works now. :D Was a really scary experience. I really like these depressing corridors and that you not really know what's going on there. At first I was happy when I found a new room, because I expected to find something game relevant. But after a few rooms where nothing really happend I decided not to open more doors. But to the end of the game I started again to open the doors.
Keep in mind that the player always expect something important when he hears a knocking can open a door. But he never found anything interactable in the rooms. And that's not a huge enjoiable experience.
The jump scare were really well placed. Reminds me on P.T. and I not like so much these jump scares (<- every player is different) And so I have done the same thing like in P.T. I walked the most of the time with my face to the ground. xD And I like the part when the wall behind the player appears so he has only one way and that guides him to the elevator. Was a good level design decision.
Fun fact: I played with headphones and when I heard the knocking I thought someones is knocking on my house door. :D
I really like this microscopic world. And the the growing world fits the theme perfect. :D And at firt I thought the particles are exists too long in the world because they only lay arround after you have shoot them BUT then I has constantly shoot against the core while I was circling around him and that was a way more effective because your bullets scattered in all directions and hit all the enemies.
A background sound would be also great. Sound make games more enjoyable especially those shooters. And it's sometime a bit difficult to see where you are after you got hit and spawn again(I guess) because the color of you and the enemies is the same. The player should always can distinguish who is he and what is the enemy. :)
To the end it was more difficult, but I enjoyed the fight against the mars.:D The only thing I would give you as an advice is that you should probably more think about if it's a good idea to have two hands which controls two gameobjects to the same time. Because it can confuse the player (in this case me) which gun he currently uses.
Anyway, I like especially the little stories between the gameplay scenes. Was good humor. :)
Your visual stuff is awesome. xD But I don't really figured out how this crafting and modding works. O.o
It's a really interesting game concept. I really like your alien design. The only advice for I have is to make a smoother camera zoom because the jumping from on to the other camera position while zooming is too hard. Good Ludum Dare start. :)
Nice short game. An advice advice for I have is to make maybe a option that the player can choose an invert or non-invert control. Keep in mind that every player has different habits. And maybe reduce the amount of pillar because you want that the player play as long in a enjoyable state as possible. :D And I really like the sound and the framing when the walls come so damn close. Looks really cool. A ship in a long hallway. :)
ldscreenspacegame.png
Really interesting experience. I like the idea of moving like a real fish and that reminds me a little bit of Abzu. :D
But I have some advice for you. At first, I thought that near each bubble would be a pearl. But often the bubbles did not lead to a pearl. What does not be so bad, because the player thus more explored the area. But unfortunately I also had problems with the orientation. What you should pay attention to in your next games is to show the player where he already was by dividing the look of the level into different sections.
But I also have to say that I liked your level a lot in terms of discovery. Everywhere there were tunnels and small hiding places. That was very good. :)
Really cool game! And really crazy with lava and zombies. Is it randomly generated or have you build the levels by yourself? Because it has a really fair gameplay feeling but the tiles looks random placed. I love especially the funny walking animation. :D
But I have one advice for you. While I'm playing I didn't know when would be comming the 10th level because I had no relation to it. Would be nice if the player could see a progress.
Really cool game idea. But the controls were a bit strange. I've tried a few times but I came never over 41 seconds. xD Maybe it would be also better to deduce the amount of enemy bullets or you make the player for a short time immortal against these bullets after he got hit by one. This is done in many bullet hell shooter games or plattformern metroidvanias. Maybe you saw it in a few games when the character goit hit by something and starts to blink. These are immortal seconds he got. It's important not to punish the player too much. After all a good entry. I like really the idea to change the color palette to make your room bigger. :)
What a wonderfull experience and (for me) a perfect game experience.
It has maybe not such much playable content in it like in other games here because you run only in circles like in these call of duty zombie mode games and shoot enemies but it reaches a lot of fascination through his simplictic style, atmosphere and soundscape. Make the player wonder about the world is a the best plus for a game.
These whales were my first highlight. Their first appearance drives me to play the game longer and longer only because I wanted to see and hear them. The slow shrinking room was also good because it gives the player the time to enjoy the surrounding whithout a constant fear of a fast and near end.
And than I took my headphones and I was surprised again. I heard footprints. That was a highlight for me too. And I like it that you have the option to change the colors in the menu. This gives the player a specific amount of control about the upcoming experience.
I've created in this LD an atmospheric experience too but I think yours is better than my. Simpler and more easier to read (in gameplay aspect). Well done. Thank you for this and keep doing such cool games. :D
Reached level 46. At the beginning it's looks really easy but to the end it was really hard. I like the tactical concept that you better think twice in which areas you want to plant at first. I will try it again but at this time will plant from the outside to the inside. :D
Well it's a really hard game. The common problem of making a game is that at first you self play the game again and again and that makes you really good at this game. But I think if the game is sometime a bit difficult for your self than the game is much more difficult for new players and than something sould be changed. Anyway, your art style is really unique with his bubble death splashes. I love this. :D
The narrative was really great. But I figured out too fast who was the killer. Maybe it depends on the order you ask the monsters. I loved the romance part very well. :D And I think the gameplay during plattform part was a bit weak but in the context of a monster house it was good because the traps are one thing which are involved in the murder. Thank you for this experience.
@szabe Edited. :D
Interesting concept. I think it would be better if you could break up the take a swing mode. And I guess it would be also better if you don't have to face the swing to 90 degree. The Character Animation was pretty. I love this dude. And you have created so many levels. Awesome! I would like to see a post jam version with better controlls. :D
Funny little game. Anime story about the pope -> Popes 2nd Hentai Adventure. xD
I fixed the zip folder. Now it works. :deer:
SPOILER ALERT! FOR ALL OTHERS. READ THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THROUGH THE FIRST DOOR. DON'T READ THIS IF YOU NEVER TRY IT ALONE. I WARNED YOU. YOU COULD DESTROY YOUR EXPERIENCE.
@yohoho-games-2 In the second picture you can see this round giant button thing. You can shoot at it or you can stand on in. It gives you a hint for the right melody and in which order you have to play the notes. Try it again. :D
@memel06 Thank you that you loved this experience. :D Well, at this LD my main focus was on the atmosphere. And for the Plattformer part I'm currently not shure if it was the best idea. Because I saw some friends which played my game and for them it was the most frustrating part in this game. What do you think?
And thanks for the bug report. I will hopefully fix it in the next update in a few days. And yes, I will check out your game. :)
@quentin-warnant @kevar Well, there are currently only two levels in the game. I have something on paper but it did not make it into the game yet. I want to add some more complex sound levels to it in a few days. :)
@Imphenzia well there is nothing more after you open the second door. I created only these two levels. Maybe a "The End" screen would have been good. I want to add more content in a few days. :)
@Aviland Yeah. I thought about the memory factor a bit because many friends of me had some problems to remember the sounds too. Maybe I make for the next build a more physical order. So that the sound pitches depends on the height position of the crystals in the room. But with color is also a good Idea. I try a bit at first because I think with colors it could be a bit too easy at the beginning but could help more in complex puzzles. Thank you. :D
@Bartosz Thanks. If I find the time I will add more levels because currently only two levels exist. And sorry for the feeling that the ending is unfinished. :D I thought it would be more mysterious if I told the player nothing and he can only see something foggy in the background after the second door. It's a puzzle/riddle game and that was my intension to let the player think about it. I know, maybe a really strange idea. xD
Interesting concept but I think the beat is too fast. Because you have at first to know where every letter on your keyboard is and if you hit the false than your score is instantly lost and you start new. The music is really great and I think the beat of the letters should be a bit slower so you can type more letters without failing and the player get a better feeling during the game. In the game theory it is known as the Flow. It's annoying if it it's too difficult and booring if it's too easy. And maybe it's better if you can see your highest score at the whole time so that you know you have done some progress. Your art and music is really well done. By the way the song of places runs currently in my background. Love it. :D
Well that was a nice moshpit. I wanted to mosh too in this game. xD The 2.5D artstyle looks interesting. Like paper. But sometimes I was surrounded of too many guys.
Well I had an exiting boss fight. Was really close. :D Thank you for this experience. I think you could do some more complex stuff. Like Bombs which explode after a specific amount of rounds. Or a tactical Co-op in which both players have to circle the enemy. The Idea has potential. I like it. And the simple art style works really well.
I had a problem. :O After the second wave the timer doesen't stopped and the Start for the next round never comes. So the time runs out and that's it. I've tried the Level 0, 1 and 2. The bug is in every of these levels. I restarted the game but the bug was still there. Anyway. It's seems like a great concept with a huge game deph. I like the idea of an rythmic tactical gameplay. And the sounds are really well. :D
As I said to you. Really cool. :D By the way, the shooting and moving backwards reminds me of a part in The Biginners Guide. Do you know this? It's a game from the Stanley Parable maker. When I think back it's really interesting that at first you talk as an instructor to me, but you are not more there, you are only a shadow of the past because you only have recorded your writing and than you are self writes to me and you are real again. Really strange. :D
Well, that escalated quickly. :O
This giant car thing was really creepy. The atmosphere was great too. But you have a bug in there. Even if you don't have more boost left in your bar you can boost your car. And I tried something else too. I increased the sensitivity of my micro and every time I breathed I got the boost. Maybe it's an interesting concept too if you don't breathe you get a boost and if you breathe you get nothing because this thing hears you. :D
PPP! I killed 27 bad boys. Well, I hope they were bad. xD With sounds it's so much better. I like the loading sound. Pinnball lives from his immediate rewardings and with the shooting sound you are on a good way. But I think it would be better if you can see the number of enemies you killed when you killed one. The last time I've played a Pinnball game was in the 90's ... and I had always the luck that the ball always fell through in the middle.
Nerdy Norman is great and I think the concept is also good if it would be not so hard. Maybe it would be better if only one math equation is shown because two makes it for the player too difficult. At first you have to decide which you choose and than you have to find the right number on your numpad. The time of the shown equation could be maybe a bit slower? I read that you have fixed the balanced but it is currently too hard for me. Some people are slow and some are fast. By the way, the graphic style is wonderful and I liked especially the short intro with the bully and Norman. In combination with the sounds it reminds me of these old SNES games ... but now in 3D! :D
How tragic. :O I tried the normal mode a few times and than I switched to the god mode. The plot twist at the end was great. I think you should teach the player the mechanics only once because it was a bit annyoing to read it again and again. Good short experience. :)
Well that tooked me very much. :O The bow down of the character reminds me a bit of a japanese school girl. But doese it have an effect? The best thing for me in the game was to get a heart from a friend. Was a really emotional gesture. And I think the color pick up at the start was a good idea too. Because it shows you the seperation from you with the others. I tried to give me the same color as the other people but nothing changed. xD Unbenannt.png
Thank you for this experience. The music guides me really well through the story. Perhaps you could do more music or sounds when you visit a planet. As I visit this one planet with this strange scintific name I expected that something would happen at next but there was nothing. I think you could do more short side stories in your game. It dosen't hurt your main story experience. And your background of stars could maybe have more layers. So if you zoom out the distance background stars are changing. It would gives the game a much more deeper and lonely feeling in the face of the universe. And what I loved was that I feelt that I was looking for something. Maybe it's that what humans looking for when they travel to far worlds ... answers. The short lenght of story and discription text was also well. Loved it. :D
Interesting concept. One problem: I played the web build and sometimes I got stuck in a wall. And I found the word SAU. I did not expect that I get for this word points because I thought it was just a german word. In german the word sau means sow or pig. Now I learned a new english word. Sow. Thanks. :D By the way, the graphic style is wonderful crazy. Love it.
I've played until the 3rd round. It's really hard at the second round and I think the growing of the plants should be faster. Because I have left one zombie, planted all my seeds and waited a felt long time until I could harvest and than I killt the last zombie. Nice concept but needs more polishing and balancing. Maybe it would be also cool if you can plant weapons or trees which blockades the zombies or better. Sometimes I freaked out as a zombie came through the bushes. xD
Interesting concept and a good start for a first game jam. :D I've found a bug. The dogs(?) got stuck in this area for the whole time. I stood on this position in the picture and they did not reached me. And what are these green, blue and purple squares? Unbenannt3.png
Really cool game concept and it was a lot of fun. After I realized that I can constantly push space to spam my enemies with dices it was much easier but at some point I could not more dodge the dices of the enemies. Maybe the player could have have a kind of cover if the enmies are shooting all at the same time. wererrwerwrr.png Was that the last level or could you go further afterwards? :D
