Game was pretty fun. I liked the dragon model and the sound effects were great. I was a little unclear on how the level ended so I eventually just let the time run out. Overall though really cool. Have fun out there!

Really fun concept. I could see how with more polish this could be a really sweet game. Some parts of the game seemed a little buggy, like some of the animations and the number of enemies that spawn. I have to say though, it's pretty satisfying to blow up a ton of guys at once.
Hi thanks for your first reviews.
We got a few bugs on our list we were not able to fiy cause we were missing about 6 hours caused by researching a physics bug...
The bugs I know: -flying is possible any time -bombs are sometimes flying away -maze 2 has no BG music (well kind of wanted) -Unbalanced waves -agents (technical name for enemies) should not spot through walls
BUT You can quit the game at any time by clicking the button in the bottom left corner. That button is PART OF THE GAME! When you think you can't raise your score anymore - click it! It's a modern verison of an endless retro highscore game
played and rated ;)
The movement of the dragon feels slightly off but overall the game is pretty great and where can I buy a Kurisou plushy? asking for a friend, really!
Love the way it looks! It was sad to kill so many doggos though. Also this might be a bug but I could use the Q to fly ability as much as I wanted on the first maze.
A good attempt. I enjoy the destruction physics a lot. It looks like you're planning to keep working on it which is always great to hear. Best of luck with it all.
I really enjoyed the game. The graphics are nice, with the dragon stealing the show. The background music made for quite satisfying burn'em all experience. Regarding the gameplay, the first few waves were satisfying, with the controls being intuitive and the fire fun to pull off. By chance, was the link to the theme the fact that you could easily end up stuck ? I did not really had the problem, seeing that one can fly anytime at the moment.
@jlv that was our intention. ant the fact that it gets ahrd for the enemies to move around so you need to find a way to get to then without touching them. That's why you cant use the bomb from walls or inflight. You should not be able to fly more than once per wave. That's a bug we noticed... Well we implemented flight 30 min before deadline!
@robo-chiz yes! We plan to keep on working on this. Probably even a multiplayer! Stay tuned!
@bradleypollard Those are wolves :) Probably that helps
@thatsommes What do you mean by "slightly off"? do you mean aniamtion and sound? or animation and speed?
@nerzal Thanks :)
Thank you for all your opinions! Glad you all liked the game so far!
I'm glad to announce that we will change afew things for a Post-LD-Version.
We noticed, it is disgusting that you get negative points when burning enemies. We will change this. You will not get any score when they reach you and instead lose "lifes".
We need to fix the flight bug... No idea what happened there yet but... :)
We will add a global leaderboard
Interesting concept, but I found that the bugs outweighed the fun you can have in this game, The objective was quite clear and although you had said that you can fly over obstacles once, I was able to fly around all of the levels. I think allot of balancing is needed and you need to work more on the objective and how it is presented to the player. Good simple graphics, but they got the job done. Good work.
So many dooooogs! :o ld_dragonmaze.png
I really like the idea behind this to avoid at first the most of the enemies but I don't know really how long I have to do this until I get to the next level. You should show the player how many waves are left. I've played until wave 8. xD
And what I found strange was this twitch link in the game. I know as a streamer you want to get people who are wanna watch your stream but you should avoid this as a game designer. Because a game is an experience and thats irritating if you click on the a link by mistake and than you have to go back into the game to play it. It really reduces the experience for the player. Keep this in mind. Make good games and than make outside of the game a link and than people will follow
@norrimo Thanks for your opinion :)
Yes we noticed that our scoring system is a bit too bad. We will change it for a Post-Jam-Update next week. There is no last wave. The "levels" are the three mazes. The game itself is Retro-Like endless and gets harder overt time as you have less space to act. at some point you have to give up (or let the time run out) - or the maze will be mostly damaged (orange bar)
Oh and the twitch link: Yes! Fun fact: We planned to do a short tutorial video and link this. But last minute we changed it to have a function for it as we did not get the video ready. Probably we should better have removed it entirely
@devio Yes I don't know what went wrong by the flight bug... We decided to implement the flight a few hours before deadline as we noticed the game would turn into a death trap too fast without. We wanted to add this as a last resort... I did not have alook at my code yet but I think I simply forgot a line which sets the available-flag to false...
oops @clanpartner was my old account! The message above was from me. @pov didn't you want to delete the old account? Just compare the mail addresses
Omg what a cute dragon... Really liked the game!
The link is not working for me is there a particular web browser, I should use.
@dk5000p So sorry! We got some server issue with our cloud server... Just uploading to another place and changing the links. Try again in a few minutes.
@dk5000p should be working now.
@firesplash-entertainment yep it is working now. I enjoyed the graphics. Would have been nice to have in game rules. The minimap was a nice touch.
Yes @dk5000p we planned to add a tutorial video but the time went out :D We had some issues with the collider system in unity causing us to lose about 4h...
I was an invincible dragon burning down everything. That felt great. There are optimisation issues, when theres a lot of AI in the maze. Plus I would liked it if they AI fought back and the ability to use my own firepower.
Overall, a very enjoyable game.
I hadn't read the discription and was just murdering knights and wizards and this was really fun. Me being able to fly over everything and just sowing destruction. Then I realized I was getting minus points. Came back read the description and played the game properly but to me this was actually a lot less fun. I enjoyed the feeling of being the bad guy for once. The way the theme is implemented in the 'correct' way of playing is nice but I found it a bit tedious waiting for them to come, running away...Overall pretty nice concept but if i were you I would turn it in to a dragon-destroying-everything-game haha
Found it a bit hard to move around and see where I was going and often time just automatically bumped into someone only to burn them to a crisp giving me little to no chance to react. However, I did like the silliness of the game and models and textures are pleasant to look at and after a while I stopped caring about points and went around bombing everything just because it was more fun! lol
Will be fixing a few bugs annd changing some things NOW live on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/firesplashtv
We just published the Post-Jam-Release including most of your suggestions and bugfixes. Have fun playing! http://www.fs-fileserver.de/ldjam/ld42/MazeCrusherLD-PostJAM-v2.zip
Here is a link to my feedback and gameplay from my channel on twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=03h01m49s
Graphics are really good and overall gameplay is awesome and the dragon is good looking haha. Good job man.
@tigerj sorry for not being there. Thanks for playing. I know it was a bit unclear how to play the game. You did not watch the minimap haha You were talking about the mouse problem: Yes. We noticed that we missed catching it just after release.
So the idea was not to use firebreath. Thats what the description says. Do not let enemies come too near. But we noticed the idea was not the best one... For our real game release we changed the gameplay idea entirely. Oh and you forgot about the "Q" button
Btw: Your stream ist quite silent compared to others.
Nice graphics and music!
Very neat and interesting concept! I couldn't play through all of it, but i still enjoyed it! One thing- when i pressed give up it didnt save my highscore, so i was just forced to wait it out. Overall, really good game!
@purrfexionator and @kutase thanks for your nice words. I am proud to announce that we are currently working on a game based on this idea: https://store.steampowered.com/app/885480/Maze_Crusher/
