Urban Sprawl by TheGamingProject 2012-08-28T01:10:00
I didn't make a town center first time and was stuck. The second time however I had a better experience. If there was sound I did not have any. Thanks for the game!

I didn't make a town center first time and was stuck. The second time however I had a better experience. If there was sound I did not have any. Thanks for the game!
Not really sure what the controls are or what is going on. I click the planet, see two dog things a block and then lose. Please update the game page with a paragraph about what is going on and I will come back and play more. Thanks.
I had no problems running the game on win7 64 I didn't boot into GNU/Linux yet to try it.
I like the music a lot and the animations. I felt like the AI was holding back because it had 1000+ food when I was winning. but hey 3 days is not that much time.
Thanks a lot I had fun.
I feel like I am playing minecraft, minesweeper and sudoku WHILE trying to collect starts on mario 64.
Nice game I had fun and I will be coming back to this one after I review some more!
Looks like the linux files are not marked as executable which will de-rail ubuntu/mint users.
"The file '/home/tigerj/Downloads/linux/Start_LD24.jar' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit."
Enabling permissions to run the jar as a program removes the error, but nothing happens and nothing loads.
Running Mint 64 bit GNU/Linux.
When I get home I will play your game on windows.
hmm I tried on Linux and on Windows 7-64 and it will not start for me. :( let me know (@tigerj) if you have any fixes and I will check back to try again before the end of LD24
There is no download link
Thanks for updating the link I am downloading now!
If you read the game is a lot of fun. I had a much more enjoyable time after reading over what was going on. Going in blind was a little bad and not recommended.
Thanks for making this game!
It keeps crashing in the menu for me. win7 64 bit.
Thanks for the early feedback! I probably will not have time to adjust much of the controls though since it's Monday and I have to work on other stuff. Post LD I wil examine this and see how it effects the difficulty ramping. Also the controls tend to feel better after you have started evolving and can accelerate faster. Maybe I should adjust the decelleration inversly to the amount of possible DNA... eh I'll play with it after the JAM. THANKS AGAIN!
@Raptor85 Thank you for your feedback. i just tested in FF 14.0.1 on Linux and it was REALLY JERKY. if you come back try it in chrome or IE9 and I think it will be a much better experience for you. I don't want to touch anything internal to the game until the judging ends.
Next LD I'll have to be sure to run the game in FF versions > 3
@whilefun can I ask what browser was not delivering Audio? I've tested in FF, IE and chrome. I have not tested in Opera or Safari on mac.
I like the mood you have going on. I think mood was a hard thing to tackle for most submissions and your entry is refreshing. nice work.
I liked your use of levels/checkpoints a lot. Looking back I wish I had some penalty/checkpoint system in place instead of making my players start the game over. Nice.
My favorite so far. NICE!
This game was great. I was having really awesome flashbacks to grade school when my friends and I would make"video games" on construction paper with pens. we Always had some maze thing going on and you needed to get a gun and a key and kill badguys.
This really hit home for me. Thanks for this game.
I had problems first with win7 but I looked at the settings in security and unchecked some crap. Here is a screen shot of what was stopping windows 7 from "dealing with it"
http://i.imgur.com/LuD9I.png
I had fun playing, loved the mood, art, sound.. all high marks there! I would have liked to see more of the evolution theme come out. I hope you add more after LD I'd be interested in seeing how it turns out.
This is a very good game. At first I was really wanting the pacing to speed up, then I relaxed and just enjoyed the story. I think you hit the theme well and the music you found was good.
I like that you gave full credits to your sources as well.
Great game and impressive.
just played this on Kong and had a good time. Wasn't sure how to reset after losing so I hit f5.
I'd like to play a souped up version and I hope you pursue this idea further post comp.
thanks for making this.
I had a blast playing this. I did not think it was that difficult to play. It's challenging and takes a couple tries to know what is coming at you.
I didn't realize i had a double jump right away.
Some bgm would be a nice touch post LD if you continue to develop it.
Thanks for making this.
TigerJ
The mood is perfect for the sfx+bgm. I like the retro filter you have going on also.
Played this on my phone just now. It was really fun and I think the touch controls were intuitive for their complexity. Nice work!
It was broken in google Chrome for me but ran fine in ie9 64bit. I liked what was going on here. I also did not hear any sound if there was any.
I think the tutorial should be mandatory, or at least show the 123 keys on the buttons. It tooke me a second to get that. Otherwise AWESOME fun game!
I had a very hard time clicking the clusters.
Unity Web Player
The Unity Web Player is not currently compatible with the operating system that you appear to be using.
You may want to put your web link under Mac/Windows and not web since it is OS dependent. If you can port to GNU/Linux in the next 3 weeks I will come back and rate.
I do not use Unity but I think they have an export to Linux feature. Thanks.
I booted into windows just to check this out. It's a pretty sweet puzzler and I had a lot of fun.
My favorite thing though was to spam click the generator and create and overload. EPIC if you play this do it serious... then click the hell out of the generator and start flipping it all out like mad. really fun
I'd really like to see this concept fleshed out Post comp
threw a barrage of errors and then crashed in windows 7 64 bit. Something about Error calling finalizer closure. idk.
It just opens and closes for me on windows 7-64
Compiling: (You need Go and the libraries installed, later I'll make a windows binary release) Please make an exe for windows so I can play & dist.
Nice, Original, FUN.
The music was very fitting to the mood.
Nice game. I saw it from the impactjs forum. I think the difficulty is perfect. I like a game that I don't win on the first try but need to learn what to expect and remember to avoid/kill certain things.
Good job.
I am getting an SSL error when trying to download https://www.mortalpolitics.com/treeEvolve.zip SSL connection error
Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don't have.
Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.
BRAVO, This is one of my favorites. Musice was GREAT. art was GREAT. theme was good and I having a story was refreshing from all the previous games I have been playing. Nice writing. Nice Game!
it looks like your stacking several canvas elements on top of each other for layers. I think you can use css and zIndex to handle most of that and use a single canvas.
this will probably improve a lot of performance and maybe some other browser issues you were experiencing.
If you like JavaScript you may want to look into another framework to help build games. I use impactJS but there are a lot of other ones too!
I like the art a lot and hope you continue your development!
I like the concept. It is not really fun to play alone and without a login I can see it getting really popular and being full of players.
I used my imagination of what it would be like in a group maybe with camera support too and I can see it being REALLY fun.
cool concept but has some barriers that keep it a lonely experience
I really like the art style. I hope you do make more progress on it later on. It was pretty cool
Pretty fun shooter. good work.
I like how you restart immediately when you fail. I also really like your background.
really fun!
If you dev it further it would be nice to have a WASD move and arrow key shoot setup like binding of isaac style. I have a touch pad so it was real challenging.
Awesome game had fun playing it.
I'm also stuck on the 3rd level and can't figure out what to do after I blow up the first rock.
Really fun, good work and I like the music.
really cool game. brought me back to crayon physics mashed up with a bunch of other speed intense games.
I really liked it and the music. games are art and yours is really beautiful.
pretty fun concept I would like to go back and undo moves and also use WASD to move around. maybe spacebar to run the game. I'm not big on mice.
this is hilarious and your art is amazing.
I'm not good at this type of game but I really think it's good for the people that like it.
I like the artwork and effects a lot.
nice and very simple. I like the different labels you used. Geopard was the best I received. cool stuff.
very unique entry. I like the premise and the style of your game. thanks.
Looks really great.
Sounds really great.
Plays really great.
I hope you continue to develop it in the October Challenge
really cool concept. i like the originality that you entry has.
Pretty fun and challenging gameplay.
Really awesome, really pants. nice job!
nailed mood. the rest of the game is really cool too. I like the concept a lot and probably would throw money at a bomb ops sim game.
nice work and a refreshing entry.
I really enjoyed this refreshing entry. nice job.
very unique concept. i really like the spin down camera work and the rotating guys right before they bust you.
@dekart thanks! if you start using impact and have any questions let me know twitter: @stalkjimmy
thanks @N427 I will take that into consideration when I update the game in November!
@larb I'm going to add more levels and mechanics in November
thanks for the feedback!
@kirbytails7 yeah I talk about that a little in the postmortem. I just ran out of time (typical LD excuse) thanks for playing!
@dew thanks! I hope paper maze is developed more. I really was having a blast on that game.
@Kitsumeda WOW nice score
@sP0CkEr2 I have a friend who does my music. He's really talented. I believe he uses que'base.
This game looks really awesome. I'm going to play it on my mac later tonight. Thanks for making the video. It's nice because I'm in the other room on my main PC (linux)
My memory is pretty crappy today, probably because I am running on low sleep.
Great game had fun playing it. I love the music!! It makes me feel like i am working out with my brain at some hip beach brain gym
Really nice style and a challenging game. All I do is loose. hoping to get lucky as I play some more.
TY!
really interesting concept and idea. the graphics were real cool. nice work.
I like the graphics and the story a lot. I'm glad your going to update it. nice entry!
amazing.
I'm not seeing the theme so that was really the only low mark. I'd love to hear some sound. I hope you continue this game after LD27. I'm a big fan of shooters and economics.
I love TD! nice job, bullets seem to need some shorter range for more strategic challenge.
Really great work here! polished entry.
really crazy fun. the images and icons are great.
Man, that is real intense. the pivoting was real touchy. I'm not joining mars one now. Thanks.
Seriously that was a real cool take on the theme and some pretty cool physics work with the whole concept. nice work and great entry.
I really like what you have done here. I especially like your sprite and the backgrounds.
If you continue to develop the game it would be awesome to see your pictures and share them after a level (facebook/twitter). I could see myself playing this for a long time when it has more depth and more areas/creatures to explore.
Thanks for making!
Great work! I had a lot of fun playing this. I just wish the overlap didn't happen until a later level. It made it hard to click what i wanted with a touch pad.
I love the music and concept. this was a real fun play.
A lot of depth for a compo really impressed.
nice game.
brings me back to pipe maze in the beginning. I really like the sound effects you used too.
This is the best looking match 3 I have ever seen.
Well this is an amazing entry. hands down really funny for anyone using git and been in conflict hell.
Thanks for making this. I love the idea, the art and the music.
Was very hard. I also used the browser zoom and almost won a couple times. I bet I can do it and I might come back when I have more time to perfect it.
It's one of those games you have to be perfect at to complete, which as a niche genre that I am part of.
Overall good work (aside from the technical size challenges). it's not for everyone but I like it.
wasn't the best experience with a touchpad. I'll come back and play again with a mouse.
I like the style though and can see it being pretty fun.
Getting a 404 as well. contact me @stalkjimmy on twitter if it starts working. I will check back often.
I revisited today thanks for updating us on the 404!
I really like the game (it worked in chrome but wouldn't load all the way in safari for me)
I love snake (especially on the nokia phones of yesteryear)
so much fun. great work and nice game. I like the colors too.
i had a blast with this one, but I have a thing for defense games. Nice balance and scaling!
This will be my example game when people ask me about mood.
Good fun game.
I like the cheat mode. I really would like to see this developed more after the comp. It's a real solid concept.
I really like the art style and the feel of your game. My score seemed a little erratic but the gameplay was fun. nice work.
This was really incredible.
really cool music and gameplay.
Pretty cool game. I've never been able to do anything close in gamemaker. Really nice concept, story and use of the theme.
I hope you develop it more I know some people who LOVE bears and will play it a lot.
@pg The only thing I noticed grammatically is that I kept stumbling trying to type "an opportunity" instead of "a opportunity" in english we use an if the next word begins with a vowel. a banana, an apple.
I like the gameplay and the concept. the scenes were really cool too!
I like how you have to jump right in, like a real emergency.
RRRRRR's cover music of the album PPPPPP is amazing. I like everything you did. good work.
I like the speed this game runs at. it's intense and really gives you a rush.
I was really impressed with your graphics and the amount of detail.
If you continue development a brightness slider would be really great.
overall I had fun shooting up some baddies. nice work and nice game
Yomi comes to mind.
really cool concept. It would be neat if some of the abilities had cooldowns and some worked better than others against different types. for example jumping and firing does less damage, and ducking takes lest damage than standing or jumping.
overall a real fun play. nice game and good job.
I really like the artwork and that the game keeps going and there is no stop in play.
thanks for making.
I really like this. Did you ever play work time fun? there was a job on that game called Pollinator that pretty much had the same concept but not as developed as what you have here.
Nice entry!
I have no idea what the answer is. I think I have a clue but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else. Creative entry.
the music and artwork is great. I really like your take on the theme. very creative idea.
Pretty cool game. I like the colors and set designs a lot.
for a compo it's really impressive. It felt like box2d almost. great work with the physics.
I'd get sfxr/audacity and get some sound involved. a little noise can go a long way for the experience.
nice work and a real creative concept. I like it a lot.
that music is epic and the puzzles were fun.
It was really hard for me to control the player. maybe it was because I am on a mac. I am going to try from my linux box later tonight when I get home.
I like your concept.
58 seconds. was my best time
Nice game I like it a lot. Post your best times with your comments so we can get some competition going!
Real arcade feel!
i had some real slow weird bugs in safari, I played in chrome and it was better. nice work.
really challenging. I like the concept
This is a really awesome entry. I had a lot of fun, wish it was a bit larger but other than that I have no complaints.
the art and sprites is great. So is the music and the sfx. really fun entry.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I like how unlike so many other games I played an action happens in 10 seconds instead of the game being over.
I made my own game up about seeing how long I could survive without getting to the gate and without dying. I liked trying to see how many times I could jump into a new body.
Here is an idea for some story if you decide to keep working on this after the comp (October challenge hint hint)
You want to body swap to steel the memories and experiences of each person. which are a currency on your home world. The more you collect before leaving the more stuff you can buy or unlock.
Some intergalactic people are chasing you because what your doing is illegal.
Man I could keep running on about this game. it was great!
I really like the visuals going on, I couldn't read much of the text that was coming down though. maybe it was me.
This game was really hard at first. I really wish I didn't spend all my bamboo on multi shot because I was hoping it would fire at an angle instead of 2 bullets in the same direction.
I had fun playing this please keep up the great work
I'm kinda addicted to this game.
WOWOWOW my brain exploded I just got the theme wow. and I almost won. so close!!!
bookmarking this one for late! nice game great work!
Like super monkey ball on steroids. Really really fun entry. had me playing longer than most.
Good work!
Man that is really hard for me, but it's a nice game and impressive for how much time you had. I wouldn't have been able to even draw half that stuff in 12 hours.
Good game nice work. I'm glad you said below your going to keep tweaking it. I will check it out some more later.
A refreshing break from the multitude of high stress and pressured entries that this theme has generated.
Top notch writing and an excellent story. good work.
I had a ton of fun with this game! it's one of my favorites from LD27.
I had a real hard time at first and then I read your steps on what I should be doing. It cleared everything up and I was able to make it pretty dang far,
Great work.
This is a really excellent example of a perfectly executed puzzler based on the theme. I will definitely be coming back for more!
I really like this game. One of my scrapped ideas was a traffic light administration sim. I'm glad to see part of my brain in action.
thanks for the game. good work.
this was really fun and had excellent skill challenges.
I like the voices too.
Nice work and glad to see more html5/browser games in the LD
Awesome and bonus for ImpactJS! nice to see another impact dev in the LD!!
great work and exceptional humor. really fun!
I might be biased on this one because I love mazes.
I like the pressure from the music and the time counting down.
Nice Game!
I played a little on Wine running on linux. I like how you mixed the artwork. for your first game it's an accomplishment to just finish.
Keep up the good work and you'll earn a lot of experience in the process.
my first game was some REALLY WEIRD geometry shooter in flash.
Nice game! very challenging. I look forward to playing this more when I get home from work!
That music is awesome. I had a lot of fun playing this game!
harder than it looks. A great challenge. I made it to level 3 after about 10 tries. I'd like more levels, a faster restart/respawn and some easier levels on the way to some of the harder ones.
Really nice concept and execution of the theme!
I really want to continue from where I lost because I was real far :(
Maybe a check point after a few levels or each level?
I really like the concept and the comedy. funny and fun game.
I really like the cuts in between the puzzles especially the elevators.
I was placing the cogs trial and error. not sure if I was missing something or that was intentional.
Nice work and it looks really cool
music and gameplay we exceptional. an all around fun and challenging experience.
The colors are awesome. The super skill jumps are great too. I played this a lot! it was great. thanks for making it. I had a lot of fun.
I like how fast you can restart. it gives it a real hook. nice game.
well I am last but I've been partying.
speed dating (sim) lol kinda awesome. I like the name choice to as a closet Evengellion fan
I really like your controls and concept. the art looks good too.
My only suggestion is to add an indicator other than sound for when to move the cursor out of the box.
Fun game thanks for making!
really fun and original entry. Great work.
really funny entry. nice job.
it was real hard until I dumped all my points into attack.
I had a fun time with your entry. nice work and the music was over the top awesome.
and that dick kick is going micro viral among my friends at the bar.
really amazing concept. fun and rewarding play.
Very interesting concept and I like your story.
The controls are difficult. What did you use to make the game with?
I like the art and sprites you made too including the ghost animations, they were my favorite.
I mean wow. Great stuff. I really think this can go far beyond LD. Please make this into a full game. I'd gladly give you money to play an expanded version.
Think of this: after a month goes by a review process lets a board secure more money based on your success. you can use the money to upgrade the room(s) and facility.
It's a great concept. I am jealous i didn't think of it. This could be the next Papers, please.
Sorry to hear about what happened. I hope you complete it and update it later.
Really awesome game!! did you ever play echos on the playstation? really has the same addictive charm. good work!
Music is great! I like the gameplay too! very wild!
add some sound effects when you develop it further
Man did it take me a long time to find that last gem I missed.
At first I thought it was a maze until I died..
then I thought it was a survival game until I found a candle..
really nice concept. good play and good game.
well someone is 5 staring innovation tonight.
really awesome concept. refreshing.
Really creative. nice work. This was a real fun concept please continue to work on it post LD!
wow this game was intense AND I learned I don't know where "J" is on the keyboard...
nice game!
For some reason the music stopped playing after the first level for me. (safari Web)
I like the responsiveness of the controls and I really like the music. For your first jam AND first game it's good that you finished (I know so many who don't).
Keep jamin'!
A lot of potential here, please continue it post LD!
Really fun entry. nice work for a comp! Love the art and audio. Controls were tight and felt good.
Very Unique and Original. I fun and enjoyable entry. Nice work.
the intro was amazing. watch my S car go! I need an S car.
challenging game and it gets a hardmode with beer!
I really like the style and the music. the lighting is really cool too.
very interesting. very skill based and really impressive art. Not my taste but I have some friends i will share this too and it's right up their ally.
style is amazing. I had a hard time adjusting to the controls but once I did I had a lot of fun.
Nice game!
very crazy and cool game. It felt like a real experiment in the medium and begged the question of games as art.
I really enjoyed the experience.
really basic and looks really cool I really had fun with this one.
I had a blast with this. Can't wait to see more from you in the future.
I love the I can save more button. thanks for adding the kong api too. I will be back for the leader board.
nice game good work
This game is great. excellent fun stuff.
man this is great. I really liked this and I won! And it was really FREAKING CLOSE. came down to 1 vs 1 dancing around the hay. really awesome work.
I really like this game. really cool concept and work on the theme. you have all the components of a good work here.
I found a bug if you run into an item while the time runs out of the same item you can have the item with infinite time. an example: have the torch above your head. run directly into the torch from the left side. when the timer runs out you will have infinite torch until you change items.
keep up the great work. you must keep working on this after ld27. it's very fun.
I really like the concept you have going on.
I like the style this game has. It's a fun concept and I like the levels. Pretty challenging and fun.
REALLY FUN!! I like the random challenges and had a lot of fun with this game. the pattern match is brutal!
It took me a couple of plays to really find out what I was doing. Really creative and original idea!
goog game. nice work!
I like the icons for the ingredients. The mood is really good too.
I had a real blast playing this. I did twice through and each time was great! First as the boy scout and the second time as the granny. I dumped all my points into speed.
thanks for the game it was great!
I wish the timer didn't start until you gave some input.
Other than that I had a fun time playing.
thanks, good game.
All 5's from me. amazing entry. great music, sfx, the parallax clouds are amazing (I have a cloud game and spend weeks on drawing clouds).
I like how you discover the alarm clock and then are able to skill it later. it's genius. really amazing entry. great work.
nice concept and nice job with multiplayer. really great effort at pushing the technical bar higher.
I really wanna try this game but it's crashing on my mac osX 10.8.4
I will try it on my linux box at home later today.
I like the geometry a lot. I may have liked the player more as a flat color.
this would make an excellent touch game if you dev it further. nice work.
man this game was fun. I really like the style you have going.
top rating. amazing game. thanks for hitting up my vine post and mentioning your game. It's excellent.
I once wore a hole into my palm on challenges like these. nice work.
really crazy stuff here. I like the camera work and colors you used. A fun fast shooter
pretty fun and challenging. I'd like to play this more post comp!

Strait 5s Winner of "Best in Show" your game will be linked on my channel main page: https://www.twitch.tv/tiger_j I really struggle to find any criticism. maybe the j/k buttons could be smarter and a single button but it works either way. Seriously fantastic game. Here is your segment from the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=01h01m59s
This game is great. It's a fun refreshing take on the theme that left my mouse sore! I actually worked up a sweat playing! You have been awarded Most Physical game for Ludum Dare 42 and will have a permanent link to this page on my main channel page. Congrats! Here is a link to your game on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=00h16m39s

Winner of the TigerJ 2018 most realistic LD42 game award! Here is the segment from the stream with all my feedback: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=02h35m51s There is now a link to your game on my channel page under the Hall of Fame section. Congratulations!
Love the story and the crazy gameplay really works with your implementation of the theme. Here is a link to your segment on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298453024?t=00h48m28s
I really liked this game, I am not sure what I should or can purchase with the blue and green resources. here is a link to the segment from the stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=01h16m46s
This was solid fun that took some honed skill to be able to complete. Somehow I missed that you could grab the walls in the beginning but once I realized that I was able to move forward without too many issues. Nice refreshing game and funny ways to end up floating and die to boot! Here is a link to the segment of your game on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=03h16m28s
I thought this was innovative and really well drawn! nice work! Here is a link to your spot on the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=01h20m20s
Here is the link to your segment! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=00h29m40s
I liked the shake. Glad that video games are subjective. Here is your link thanks for coming by the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=02h07m03s
Here is a link to the segment of your game on my stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=00h07m41s
I had a fun time playing this, I like all the detailed sprites and art that you made. I think the difficulty was pretty high as I died a bunch on the first few rooms. Maybe ramp the difficulty a little smoother so the player can get used to the enemy pattern and attacks slower, my first room had a jumping spider and a bunch of bats, it was overwhelming in the beginning. I hat the ball dudes, they felt broken to me as I died a lot and never was able to kill them.
Nice work very impressive compo. I found your use of the theme creative as I did run out of space during some of my kiting and had to switch to the hammer to get more space which I had ran out of. I felt it was creative.
Here is a link to my feedback in your segment from the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=02h50m31s
I re-streamed this when I wasn't so tired to give it a proper run through. I really enjoyed the mechanics and the physics of the black holes. I think the animation/effect of colonizing could be a little faster (I was eventually just running out of the area before the planets faded out or had bubble stuff put on them). Here is a link to the re-stream of your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=00h29m42s
wow just an amazing game. loved it. I have given your game the creativity award. you will have a link to your game under the hall of fame on my main channel page. Here is a link to your segment from the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=04h23m50s
Nailed the mood with this one. I found this incredibly fun to play and will be revisiting it soon! Here is a link to your segment from my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=00h25m17s
Check the countdown on the channel page for when I will be live! you are added to the queue! http://bit.ly/2Oz2frE https://www.twitch.tv/tiger_j
I love the art style and music. I replayed this one over since the first time I streamed it I was too exhausted to really provide any value. Please enjoy a better run of your game here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=00h12m38s I love the art, the skeleton bones should spin a little like the purple spells do. I was able to get into a pattern of running around the outside. Trading off trophy space for mechanics was very innovative and unique.
Winner of the best soundbyte award! you will have a perma link to your game on the front page of my channel! DATARUNNER It played a lot better locally than it output for my stream. Not sure why I think I have a video card issue though. here is the link to my play through: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=02h32m26s
@acronaut I read your comment just now and had to say it out loud again DATA RUNNER
love it.
Respect! I too made a cargo/warehouse style/crane game but yours is fun! I really appreciate what you did with your rng and positioning. It's a very cool game and a blast to play! I will probably refactor my code and make a method that will calculate x/y positions for my crane based on your input near the end. Here is a link to your segment on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=03h26m26s PS the color changing walls were so cool
This was really fun to play. I had a blast streaming it and enjoyed the implementation of the theme. Here is a link to your segment from the show: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=00h48m40s
Details in Stream: (twitch video does not embed) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/296647577?t=00h05m37s
Here is a link to your segment! the game played very smooth locally on my machine, just the stream output looks choppy. I think there is an issue with my video card when I play 3D games on stream. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=01h04m03s
@antoined73 I forgot to mention that you won most impressive application exit! I added you to the hall of fame section on my twitch channel. Some people just call Application.Quit() but not you!
I really enjoyed this one! I think the power ups are difficult to keep up with, as a player I want to keep my eyes on the action. The AI should not see me when I am dead and deciding where to re-spawn. i should not see where the AI is going to pop up with their lives. full feedback: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=00h05m15s
@spacemonkey those are very creative solutions (invincible and shields) great work!
@arron-fowler Thanks for reaching out! I gave it a special play tonight when I came home from my friends house. I appreciate you taking the time for explaining the turn mechanic more and all the hype for my stream =D here ya go: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299535551
@tom7 how many times did it take you to get 13? I am so jealous. my best was 11 (which should have been 12) This game was addictive and fun. I had a blast. Here it is on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298453024?t=00h35m52s
@artbohr wow that was fast! thanks so much! It has a few quirks but I really gave it my all. the compo time limit is so_much_harder thanks for playing! I will add your game to my stream list for twitch https://www.twitch.tv/tiger_j you can see the schedule on the channel page :)
@squirmonkey I know that bug :) I had it happen a few times myself but I had to submit :)
@omniorcus thanks! It has the action and excitement of a shipping warehouse!
@gaoyuan-chen understandable! I will do better next time to have additional controls and/or options thanks for your feedback!
@saoi-games WOW thanks for playing it! Your feedback is great and matches what I was struggling with before the deadline. This is the first game I have made where I was not fond of the entry. If I had more time I would have refined the controls and timing of the game more as well as allowed the player to queue up commands in sequence. I really wanted to have a system that would let you for example: action button on a green package, have it move and still be smart enough to pick it up when you queued up the movement to drop it off. Really sad I was not able to deliver the experience I wanted to in time.
Thanks for streaming! I will give you a shout out tonight on my channel :)
@jasperarmstrong yeah, I thought learning the belt timer would be a "skill" that the player would acquire but it ended up just being an annoyance. This is my least favorite of all my jam entries over the years but I feel it has given me the most reward in personal lessons with players. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
@mikethewayne wow thanks so much for the high praise and for playing! Buffing the health up was a compo hack to make it easier when I had little time left. I’m going to enter optical jam next week on itch.io and update the game. I’ll probably use your feedback and reduce the health!
Thanks!
@lexyvil totally busted! congrats!! @bustosman yeah I ran out of time to do some of the other ideas I had. One was to connect them side by side with matching colors and have a larger pad to send them off with. Another was to ignore color all together and use shape based mechanic imagine Tetris shaped peaces that would lock out certain patterns on a 3x3 grid of pads. essentially playing Tetris on a 3x3 playfield that has a cooldown for each section. Ambition got the best of me though and I had to scrap the prototypes for a color matching game. damn compo time limits!! ;)
@chadrbanks 10-4 will have that soon during optical jam in a couple days thanks! @adonisdevs wow thanks a lot! yeah it is harder than I had hoped, in the end when I ran out of time I just threw extra life instead of balancing (ran out of time story of my LD life)
@chadrbanks Optical jam (hosted by https://tdelarosa723.itch.io/ (@troyD)) this month has a theme to take a previous game/project and rework it for 7 days https://itch.io/jam/optical-optimize I will be streaming all the games :) @radical-dog very specific feedback with regards to the mechanics I really appreciate that and will take it into consideration next week as I update a fork of the game.
thanks @pennycook sorry about the bugs, I had someone also manage to lock themselves out of the playable area, ah nothing like jam games.. Nice note on the white boxes, I think I will drop them when I update the game this weekend for Optical Jam. I appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback! Have a great day!

Lots of fun, left me thirsty for more levels which is a great sign. here is a link to your video segment on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=02h45m04s
I particularly loved being able to scan around different objects and let my mind wander like I do in real life. Especially in the doctor's office scene. that was so incredible immersive. I have a personal connection with this disease and appreciate your efforts to expose it more to the public. It was very difficult to stream. here is a link to the segment. I will export this as a standalone video soon for you all. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=03h35m51s I have also given your team the "Most Serious" award and this game now has a link on my channels main page in the hall of fame section.
I think you really nailed this game. I had so much fun playing it! all my feedback is in your segment on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=02h16m23s
I loved this game it was so addictive and fun. I need a leaderboard added so I can set some goals! here is a link to your spot on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=02h08m44s

@akros certainly. I can give you raw video files if you need them. Just message me in discord https://discord.gg/heMYnmC
Loved it! I had a blast playing it on stream, I think I started to gain space though, probably because I am so amazing! here is a link to the video: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=01h42m42s
Here is a link to the feedback I gave on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=02h45m15s Thanks!
This was a challenging delight I enjoyed the difficulty and the art style. I had to turn my keyboard to be competitive and wrap my mind around the controls (probably because I was starting to fade due to all the games I had been playing) here is a link to your part of the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298453024?t=01h01m00s
This was fantastic. It reminded me of one of my favorite jam entries this year, farmalot. I think your sprites need to have their layers ordered. I also think the blue camera bg in some scenes feels too engine stock compared to how unique everything else is. Thanks for making this! Here is a link to your spot on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=01h28m33s
Had a joy playing this on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=02h52m02s Also have a permanent link on my channel page as you have received the red tail hawk award! ;)
Very nice and cool game. I have not see a lot of pico games this time around, I wonder why? Maybe I have just been missing them? It was really cool and innovative I like your take on implementing the theme with Clod. He's super cool and the puzzles were well thought out! here is a link to your spot on the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=02h33m00s
LOVED the art style. so nice and different. here is the gameplay from my twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=02h53m57s
I had a lot of fun shoving these robots into the walls! I think you could dial up the movement of the walls a little to increase the feeling of running out of space. Very unique and innovative gameplay. Please explain what all the power ups are and what they do, maybe you did and I missed it somewhere. here is the segment from my stream with your game! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=01h36m58s
Superb and strategic. This game had me really thinking hard about my decisions near the end. Here is a link to the segment from my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298453024?t=00h04m54s
I felt like I could wait for a long time before needing to run to kill stuff. I felt like I was waiting for ammo a lot and new mechanics were not being added with a ratio that kept me wanting to see what is next. A user watching my stream mentioned it would be great fun if it were two player and someone else could control the cloud. The art is super cute and overall you have a nice game, just reduce the downtime! Here is a link to your segment on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=03h02m12s
I cannot embed twitch highlights, here is your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=00h43m23s
If anyone has ever nailed mood, this game really does it. Especially if you have worked in the business software space. Congratulations on your first entry. make sure to rate some more games in order to get 20 ratings in a category. (If you don't get at least 20 ratings in a category it will not rank you) Here is a link to your segment on my stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=00h38m49s You have also been awarded "Most Businessy LD42" and your game will appear on my hall of fame: https://www.twitch.tv/tiger_j
Sound effects for those cop sirens would really make the experience POP! nice work on the game it's fun and very innovative. I have never played a car stealth game before. This would have even worked well with LD41 (combine two incompatible genres, car sandbox and stealth game). well done. Here is a link to the feedback segment from twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297300090?t=01h47m18s
This was a fun game, the slimes would get very dense near the middle of the platforms and never patrol to the edge making it easy to just stand on the edge and defeating the purpose of having a score. I wanted to go and explore the rest of the level it looked so interesting! The art was beautifully done! Here is a link to your spot on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=01h28m33s
So so pretty and So So hard at the same time. here is your game on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=00h04m26s

What an excellent game! we should hook in a twitch integration so the whole chat spawns in the game! Here is the clip from your spot on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=01h16m41s
I loved the dual controls and achievements that added to replay. It was a really fun experience. Here is a link to your segment from my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299088812?t=01h01m58s
This was sweet I hope you refine it and add in some more pressure from the enemies. Here was my full feedback on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298451826?t=01h54m11s

@iseeicy Hey I think when I go on break tomorrow I will play this again and let people come up with their ideas while I am afk. Might help give more people an opportunity to play it. @james-leib and @acoto87 thanks for mentioning my stream!! Feeling famous now :)
It was fantastic as a streamer btw.
Video from first stream on twitch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345206364
I really loved this once I realized right to left. I don't know why that did not stick when I read the instructions. Maybe a box, or number near the items to remind the player, maybe I just need to do a better job reading lol. Thank you for sharing your game on my stream.
This was amazing are you all near each other or were you working far away. I could barely hold it together on twitch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=02h50m27s
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345748006?t=03h03m18s
Fantastic! I am fairly sure you received my feedback on stream. Loved it!
3:30 something. You can re watch my struggle here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345748006?t=03h11m27s
Awesome. Was very fun to stream and I found it difficult to give any feedback. It hit all the right marks for me as a player. Maybe show the level change to the user somehow, I felt like my session was all level 1 and I was thirsty to player more!
Thanks for submitting your game to my stream! Sorry I sacrificed you but it worked out in the end right? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=05h00m06s
I like the way your game looked and the controls felt great for a platformer. Eventually I ran into a spot where I didn't know what to do and I had to question what my goal was again. As I clearly did not have enough health left to get all the medicine. I will player it again to see the other endings soon. Thank you for sharing your game on my stream.
Here is the video from my stream. thanks for submitting! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=04h46m25s
I loved it, even after I had infinity cow.
@adroitconceptions oh man so sorry! I don't have a linux machine to test with, It seems to be fine on my machine(s) (said every developer ever). I'll see if there is something I can update thanks for reporting the problems!
@amanda-priest it hurts mine too. Crunch is crunch :) thanks for checking it out! @numeralien 2/3 or so it's bad. I underestimated the time it would take me to write all the stories and multiple options and multiple resolutions to each option. This ties into @tylerstraub 's feeling as well. The idea was to weight the RNG on a curve for the responses and options so sacrifices would alter what choices could be made and what random related results would return. The code was in place to handle it, but the creative mind to write all the dialogue/narrative trees ran dry. I grossly underestimated and until today underappreciated writers for short video game narratives/dialogue trees. When I looked at the clock and the first story took me about 1.5 hours to pen I knew I was in some trouble. @monkeedude1212 what's funny is before I put borders around them I never tried to click them, and then when I was overstretched for time on the final hours I even started trying to click them.
@jimbly THANK YOU and @mrjoshuamclean loved your play through! @lenny-sirivong and @kddressel Thanks it means a lot I have never put story or narrative in any of my previous games. This has been a very motivational comp for me. All of your comments about the music is great too. I always save sound for last and it was a rush to get it setup in time. Thanks!!
@peachtreeoath thanks so much for such a wonderful detailed response. My main goal this LD was to push myself and add a story, environment, narrative into my game. I usually make arcade-esk scoring games but wanted some different skills to "level up". I appreciate all the complements. It was a blast. This whole LD has been one of the best in a while. SO many wonderful takes on the theme. I adored your game, it's soundtrack and my inability to stop a limo from text-720-ing into a school bus.
@spacemonkey thanks for the play!! I'll continue to work on my music!
@justinmullin Thanks! I am elated that you had a good time. The frogs was a limitation from another game jam running at the same time which had a western theme and a requirement that you put frogs in your game. It brought out a lot of creativity due to the odd mashup. I feel entering the mini jam pushed me over a creative hill I was climbing. There is a bug somewhere in one of the calls but the code was rushed and is so messy I might not find it for a while :)
@dbongames I have to get better and scoping and give myself time to proof read. I was so burned out in the end I had time to play through a few sessions but I didn't even wanna look at the game at that point. Ah the joy of crunching.
I love the humor and dialogue of the opening part of the game. It was also fun when I maxed everything out to get some cool action shots. Thanks for bringing the game by my stream to share.
This was fantastic https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=03h36m05s
I found the mixed character control delightful and challenging. I wish I had someone around this late to try it again with two player mode.
Games like yours are the reason I stream jams. I love the individualism that gets expressed by your work. Keep it up. It was a pleasure to stream. I will probably stream it again soon and try to beat it. Thanks @dk5000p
Here is a link to my play of your game! Thanks for submitting it hope to see you again soon! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=04h27m29s

here is the session thanks for submitting it to my stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=00h54m43s
Wow first solo and second jam! You are getting your jam legs for sure! Check out itch.io sometime for a list of jams that are running all the time. Practicing will help with scoping out your ideas and getting a rhythm.
https://itch.io/jams
I liked your game it has a cool blend of 2D and 3D, I felt like the camera was zoomed in too far for me to avoid enemies approaching from the south.
mood 5/5 so great thanks for submitting your game to my stream. Here is a link to my gameplay https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=04h18m07s
You create some of the best experiences I have had playing games this year. I am immediately immersed and intrigued by my situation and surroundings. Keep up the excellent work. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=02h20m21s
Nice work! Here is the session Space submitted https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345748006?t=00h10m58s
Put that song somewhere we need it https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=03h18m58s
Great game I love seeing some pico entries! the background was lit.
I like this game and the gameplay. I wish there was a clock adjustment to speed up the time, but it is rewarding after waiting for things to get collected and built. Nice entry!
Loved the voices @dk5000p I wish it was longer but I know you did not have a lot of time. Thanks for sharing it! The brain artwork was great!
I loved this entry. It reminded me of one of my favorite Vlambeer games. Everything was well done. Great work!
Good game! I like all the sound effects, it felt very cohesive and well connected. I think I broke it at one point my dude disappeared but enemies were still attacking me, maybe I died. nice work!
I had a good time giving this many plays. The first play I stuck to the wall a lot, but after that I bounced off pretty regularly and had a bit of fun trying to dash. Congratulations on your first game + game jam!
It took me a while to get the release attack down but once I did I had a lot of fun. My first few plays I was just using the alt attack, but then I understood how to properly charge attack and change my directions.
Nice lighting effects!
It took me a bit to get the big drop area but when I did I fully understood the mechanics I was dealing with. I wish there was a collectable to achieve or feel some extra reward. Love the puzzle platformer and highly innovative gameplay. and NES! what! very cool.
Fascinating combination of crafting and rogue. I enjoyed the concept and the uniqueness of your build choice (react)
Loved it. And that's about it ;) The narration was awesome. I like the changes in music and color for each biome. Good pacing for a jam entry also. well done!
Was fun to stuggle through that forest. I have a pretty dark screen already so it was difficult to see the "sweet spot" of where to go with the small light. I also had to use spacebar to read a sign that told me about using spacebar, maybe start with that tip present first to get the player going. I also could not dismiss the text at first I had to find that esc would release the dialog/pause/sign. I do appreciate the tutorial though!
Really loved this. the fast restart had me addicted. the bomb dude was so intense in the first encounter with him! I did not beat level 2 but I enjoyed this entry nice work!
Good job on finishing! Congratulations on your first jam! I always love when there is another sucker *ahem* jammer joining the mix. I'm sure there is lots of feedback above so take it all in! check the itch.io jam calendar and you will continue this journey wherever it takes you friend.
I LOVE THIS CONCEPT. One of my favorite games of the jam so far.
I love this game and I will get to the bottom Saturday. Crazy awesome! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=02h22m08s
I don't really have anything to critique as it is a great game.
It's a very creative twist on this style of mechanic. I had a great time playing it on stream. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=01h26m59s
Audio, Graphics, and mood are great! I love a good tower defense, after round 9 I just stopped getting any economic gains although the waves kept increasing. I made it to 11 but did not gain anything after round 9 to upgrade further.
I had a good time with this. Very ambitious for LD with the complex battle system. nice work! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=06h36m51s
:taurus: You have something really cool going on here. I was happy I kinda reconstructed Taurus, kinda, hahaha. Thanks for brining this by @jason200101 and also for helping people submit their games during the stream. I might bust this out on Saturday to play with for a bit. I enjoyed the UI a lot, it reminded me of papers please which is a game I am terrible at. Interacting with the objects in such a way adds a lot of immersion into the game.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=03h07m41s
My hand is tired from spamming space. No my arm is tired. HA! fun game.
Technically impressive for LD! gave me memories of the psp mini game echos. it was a fun play!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=06h23m06s
@eli-delventhal ahhh the shield.. whoops  ! things may have gone a lot differently. This was one of my favs this time around. well done man.
This was so much fun! It was a total blast to play I love the unique design you came up with for the theme. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=03h29m05s
Once I figured out the opening worker flood strategy it was a bunch of fun! I don't think you should be able to overspend in the beginning and "lock yourself out" of creating settlements by mistake, one small thing that happened to me during my play throughs. Overall this was a lot of fun and very creative/unique compared to a lot of other submissions I played. I very much enjoyed it. Thanks for bringing it to my stream! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=00h47m28s
Well that is a set of strait 5s. seriously I don't have any idea how you all did this so well. Thanks for coming by, sorry my chat was all jank from hosting/raiding. So much talent. The only mechanical feedback I can give is spamming chainsaw shouldn't penalize you. but I mean it's such a small thing and only a problem if the player is crazy like me and spamming eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=00h07m30s
So.. after streaming this I think some of my community members had to take the top spot. It was just that much fun for everyone to checkout. I love the art and animations as well as the game style and concept. Plus I was able to bust out my favorite drink cooler I've had for 23 years. Procrastinate Now! Here is a link to your game being streamed: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=01h09m40s IMG_1343.jpg
@velvetlobster after my meetings today I may have to do this.
I see where you were headed. For 12 hours in the compo and a tower defense it's impressive. I love tower defense games but I have never tried to make one for a jam due to the balancing challenge.
I had to force myself to stop so I could play the rest of the games submitted to the stream or else I would have kept right on playing. It has that "just one more" thing going on. Fun game!
@the-neon-shark thank you! we definitely ran out of time to tweak the player controller more =D it is high on the post LD list of stuff to do. Thank you for playing and the feedback!
@filipe-leal YES! TY! good feedback I totally missed that during the jam!
whole song is here: https://soundcloud.com/tigerj-1/ld50-starline-rescue-squad
@conradoclark I am so happy about that! As I was playtesting I was making "ooo money" noises from the top down TJ&E. @jitspoe thanks for streaming it!
@tahamimarlar indeed, it was a tough balance between good controls and the feel we wanted the game to have. Bad controls are not necessarily a (good) mechanic, but a pilot that has been partying too much shouldn't be a great driver either. Thanks for playing! @danonino wow we didn't get a wall bug, but there are plenty others  thank you so much for playing! @ruruie :fire:
thanks @bougiebirdie :rocket: !
@velvetlobster yes! we were joking with that calling it "the terminal velocity issue" not really a bug but I never governed the velocity and you can go so fast you slip by the proc gen colliders. (it generates the level during runtime) @jcg yup intentional and I made them slightly better before submission after the first few comments were focusing on them. I've been thinking about it, when they are too good the game isn't really as silly and loses it's feel. when they are terrible it's just annoying and hard to get a good session. I think they are at a sweet spot now, there were a lot of tweaks. glad you noticed. Thanks for the update on the splash text! I'm pretty sure we're gonna spin this one into a full game after LD ratings are over. All the feedback is appreciated.
@kszaku indeed this is great feedback thankyou! I'm noodling on adding some exhaust effect for when thrust is being applied and a menu to adjust the controls a bit. post jam though. :) @jonrei thank you! I rarely do my own music but I had time this time due to having a teammate. means a lot man!
@joselor thanks for the comprehensive feedback!!! all great points, thanks for the positive note on controls. We're working on a post jam GDD (game design doc) now, so your suggestions are very helpful.
@vivyhasadream ty! @lerc great idea!
Very insightful feedback @peachtreeoath ! Thank you for playing and your detailed notes. We may have forgotten to place extra fries in the “chunks” used to proc gen the levels. You are spot about the jam balance there, was too hard on first play and too easy when you get the hang of it.. I bet a tutorial level would fix all of this hahaha. The items falling off is a bug, I’m going to dig into it after ratings and reviews is over and I have more time to dev.
@alexhonor thanks for the feedback, the reason to not use a gameplay button or key to restart is that some players like to monitor their score or progress, if they are in an exciting moment of gameplay they may accidentally bypass the score screen.
@steve7411 thank you so much for the play and for swinging by the stream! great times!
I thought this was awesome and very unique. It's a very creative cool game. I enjoyed each puzzle and the secret at the end :smirk: Overall this is one of my favorite submissions and was a hit on the stream.
highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=04h45m02s
P.S. I also realized I streamed your LD43 pig headed pirate and LD44 jump coins.
I'm working to migrate the database over to my archive page on itch, they will be available soon (highlights and links).
@shawn-moore it's really cool. great job.
I loved it! what a unique source of inspiration! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=01h24m45s
This is one of my favorite entries so far. I wanted to keep streaming it but was running out of time and had to play more games in the queue. Thank you for making this crazy fun game. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=02h15m56s
Very sweet game, we really enjoyed this one on the stream. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=06h14m12s
I think it is perfect. I do not have anything constructive to add unfortunately. I enjoyed the underlying commentary. It almost has a twilight zone -esk feel to the story in a good way. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=03h26m33s
I am overtaking @jitspoe Saturday.
This has been one of my favorite entries for LD50. great work. I think I was getting pretty good. I hope you will bring it by one of my Saturday streams again sometime! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=02h45m57s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wt67ThzpL64
This was a ton of fun. I would suggest checking out "Magic Pengal: The Quest for Color" it was a ps2 game that had similar mechanics wrapped up in an interesting story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Pengel:_The_Quest_for_Color Here is a highlight from the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=00h17m17s
This game is beautiful and fun despite a small amount of continuity hiccups. Loved streaming this and I was very much attached to the pets. Thanks for sharing it with the stream! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=00h55m50s
This was a fun play for sure! great work.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=03h19m04s
I thought this was great! I plan to come back and play it again after the jam. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=00h07m32s
Well pairing the icons and colors was a challenge but once I got the understanding down it was a pleasant challenge. Thanks for submitting the game to my stream I enjoyed playing it! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=02h02m47s
Strong missile command vibes. The 3 houses on the east side clearly bribe me as I tend to focus on trying to keep them alive. The split mechanic is challenging, engaging, and sure to defeat anyone. well done.
I feel like I was very bad at this game but I can imagine a more skilled player enjoying the challenge of staying on. I did make it to a new platform eventually, it seemed that if I rolled a level where I didn't have to jump soon I would get further. I feel like jumping is much harder than just running which is odd that the two mechanics don't seem to be ramping/set at an even skill level. Like, if I just have to run I am having a good time and feel like I have a chance, as soon as I need to jump I just feel like I am destined to lose. Again, might just be a bad player here haha. Thank you for brining it by it was a cool looking game for sure. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=05h55m07s
I love every puzzle except breaking the door down. I kept dying when I was rushed on both sides, so fast I thought it was the inevitable portion of your game. Overall it was a great time and pretty cool/creative mechanics. I also enjoyed the art style. Thanks for brining it by! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=03h08m40s
This was a blast! your abilities to craft a cool story AND make a game during the jam are wonderful and rare. Also I am biased as this relates to two of my favorite movies of all time. Thanks for bringing it by. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=01h50m31s
This is one hell of an experience! Thanks for bringing it by the stream! Highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=00h09m14s
Gave me the double dragon/beat'em up vibes... streets of rage! I couldn't find a good way to dodge the face punch. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=06h07m18s
I love the camera and controls. Our game was also an errand style mechanic. It was fun to play and stream a similar style game! I liked dragging all the people around :)
I love a good arcade style game for sure! This was a blast to play on stream! I like the very snappy controls, they are perfect. it's a cool game. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=01h08m51s
This was a real joy to stream and many of the viewers loved the audio easter egg. Thank you for brining it by! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=01h40m17s
It's been a long time since a game left me sore. Kinda felt good tbh. Mario party 64, contra on the nes, those games would leave you stronger, changed, a different person. great work!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449896005?t=03h41m54s
It was so much fun and so silly! Here is a link to the gameplay from my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=01h51m10s I could not stop thinking of this video when I was playing and I was trying hard not to just start cracking up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49EhuzrRj8I
One of my favorites this time. Great work. Highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=02h16m09s
Congrats on your first jam! O never found the exit but I found some interesting comms and a bed!
I had a good time getting gas cans. I thought the music was good too. I wish I had a sense of progress so I could compare multiple play sessions, such as distance travelled or police avoided. I think you have something fun to build upon. Good entry. Congrats on finishing.
Well... I am kinda terrible at 1st person so there is that  It's a great entry. The tutorial and updating my settings helped a lot! I think if I practiced for 10-20 minutes I would get even better. I like the sketchy style you have going on too. thanks for brining it by the stream and helping me not suck as much haha! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=01h31m52s
I think you nail the mood and feel your are going for. It was a lot of fun to roll around and try to stay inside. I am linking the first highlight from the stream here, there is additional gameplay near the end of the stream too when I attempted to beat my score ~32 seconds I think. I wasn't sure what the blue power ups were doing at first, although I may have started to notice their effects near the end. Pretty sweet game! highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=04h33m34s highlight 2 (itsm4s came by the stream so I replayed :smiley_cat: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=05h59m59s
I am clearly bias due to your use of tigers. It's a very creative concept and different than the other games I have played. I very much enjoyed streaming this! I didn't notice the pond right away which took me a play through to discover.
I had a great time playing/streaming this! I trained my self to pre-empt the solar bar and had no problems afterwards! I think my stiff mech keys made it hard to hit the first play through. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=00h16m44s
My kinda game! nice work! I'm trying to think of feedback.. I got nothing though it was fun to play and stream. I especially was impressed by the near death mechanic you implemented.
My feedback is higher up, but I wanted to come by and post the VOD of your game from my stream. Enjoy! Also I play jam games every Saturday, usually for a good length of time. If you make updates or want to bring it by again feel free! Thanks again for making and submitting. that near death effect is cool. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447064567?t=00h39m38s
This was fantastic. Such great art and mechanics. I love the movement controls (as someone who loves a good rogue and grew up on civ2). Thanks for brining it by! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=02h26m11s Your style reminds me of these two jammers a bit: https://hyperlinkyourheart.itch.io/ https://liquidream.itch.io/
This was pretty cool! I was able to solve all the puzzles a few times, I think I may have messed up the ending but it was a fun game! Thanks for bringing it by. highlight: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1451440143?t=04h28m23s
After I learned I could shoot through the planet I did much better! I like the concept and changing lasers with the number keys. Cool idea! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=00h26m59s
Thank you for submitting to my stream! I had a great time playing and thought the old man's call outs were great! They add a lot of character to the game and feel.
I had a blast and the leaderboard is a great touch. Caused me to play 2-3 extra sessions.. *shakes fist at competition gods.
I'm trying to get a leaderboard in our JAM entry but it's probably not gonna happen because I have to work.
I love the sound effects and animations. Great work! The quests add variety. Overall this is a very solid entry. Hats off.

I have played this a few times on stream. Determined to keep trying for a great score. I love this game.

Enjoy highlights from the livestream. Thanks for sharing and making this great game!
Below is my gameplay video highlights from the live stream. I love the simulation and the minigames were amazing. Overall I had a wonderful time. Some feedback thoughts: If the player can personalize (name, assign characteristics) the pets more they will have more attachment when they die and the deaths will feel more meaningful. Also the jump scare should not fade, it is a jump scare. Do not fade it in, which is why I giggled and thought it was cute/silly and was not spooked/startled. make it loud. make it fast and in the players face. It is not the pixels/pixel art that makes it not scary, it is the slow fade in and lack of a loud audio trigger to pair. Hopefully this is not overly critical the game is so great and a wonderful experience. Well done!
https://youtu.be/zKSwIrrLCQw
@gord10ahmet that makes a ton of sense then! great work!
I had a lot of fun playing this on stream. I just exported my VOD highlights to YouTube. love the snake mechanics.

Enjoy!
I want to play it again already. https://youtu.be/1CYe-mjd5gM
I love all the different strategies I was having fun with and the mechanics and car feel is wonderful. This was fun, thanks for brining it by the stream. https://youtu.be/1CYe-mjd5gM
I could get lost in this for hours. I would love to see some expansion where the colors/pixels have meaning and affect spells/abilities/shot types/ammo or stats or something it is such a clever and creative mechanic.

I had a great time playing this on my stream. Thanks so much for bringing it by!

Enjoy the highlights and great game!
It was an absolute blast. Thanks so much for sharing this cool little game! https://youtu.be/1CYe-mjd5gM
What a great game! I like the controls and pathfinding that the fish have. They are so hilarious looking and awesome. Especially when they get the guns and spin around with them in their mouths. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful entry I had a great time. Check the chapter for a link to your specific game :)

Interesting game! Play it before you watch my stream! Feedback and gameplay here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=02h30m24s
Reminds me of a mini game from work time fun on the PSP with protestors that I played a lot (Demonstration round up iirc). I don't know why the cars turned white a couple times but I had a lot of fun sneak driving around. The environment could use a little scenery to mix things up and not feel bland. Imagine playing this game in a more realistic city design!
Really loved playing this. At first I was scared because I believed that one shot would kill my people and played it overly careful. Then I realized that I could take a fair amount of damage. I think the difficulty might be a little easy for me but I think the ramping is fair to most people playing. You really designed the additional content and exposure well. Nice work!
I had a lot of fun plaything this all the way through on my stream! I wish there was a balance in between the two health modes. I think w/o the extra health it's too hard and with it, it is too easy. Maybe some additional healing mechanic could assist in this. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=00h51m47s
twitch highlight here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=00h09m53s feedback recap: starting out I didn't know which island to control. I had a great time playing your game!
I thought this was fantastic other than a few plot issues where a couple characters referred to some Amanda stuff I did not know yet. I plan to beat this later on I had to cut it short for my stream. feedback and gameplay here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=01h23m42s
enjoyed streaming this here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=00h24m36s I think in the second game not being chased removes any pressure to perform with the left right arrows The third game is very fun but the furthest target moves so fast it feels like a luck shot. the 3rd target is perfect. I explain this on the stream. Thanks for your game it was fun.
Feedback via twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=00h09m58s
It is very hard. Maybe extra lives or a damage system so there is more of a chance to finish the game. It is fun but very unforgiving.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=00h37m18s thought this game was fantastic. I was able to cheese my way around a little hitting guys from odd bounces and also shooting them off screen. Fun game with a really cool mechanic/concept.
I loved it! what a great game. I like the SFX and the style, It would be really fun to play this 5v5 or even 3v3 with people. The AI is very impressive. I can imagine the commentary about more built out gameplay and levels. "He's going middle but there is 3 sand traps, not a great idea....
It's really fun and gives me some anxiety. I did get stuck at the beginning when I opened the shop and didn't see the close button. I think it might not stand out. I also thought clicking outside the UI panel would close or pressing escape.
Once I was able to get past that I had a blast!
feedback and gameplay here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=02h40m18s I love the art and the story was pretty interesting I really wanted to be able to strategize my cards more. We chatted about this during the stream and I think time was in the way of your design goals. The cards really engaged me as a player who often doesn't play this style of game. Good work.
Looks great, after a few deaths I was able to get the hang of it. Love the concept, art and music. well done.
I had a good time playing this once I got the hang of it. The computer did sprawl out much faster than I did making me feel a bit behind development wise. I also thing the controls selecting/deselecting could use a little polish, there were times I would keep clicking to see the status of a farm or forestry project. Maybe show the build progress in the ui above the job being performed.
There is so much here you really invested a lot of time and energy and it shows. nice work! I hope you expand on this more after the jam. I have followed you on itch.io
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=01h58m40s It's pretty challenging. I think sometimes I started with 3 bombs and others with zero so there might be an issue with the ramping. I also don't like bombs spawning where the net has already been dropped. maybe you could omit the net x left and right bounds from the spawn area of bombs to help the player out.
Nice game, I did not like the hand I had that was shoot shoot shoot turn turn. I did not feel like there was a state being maintained before each turn, once there were not asteroids and then there were a lot and I died.
I think this is a very creative concept! The music was also very fitting for the feel of the game.
Excellent! The only two things I did not like was having to start over if I died (would be nice to have a check point or respawn outside the boss room) and I noticed after everything died I could press i over and over until I had a hand I liked. It would be easier to have a default "starting hand" or load out in the deck builder screen somehow. These are VERY Subjective points I am making.
Your game was wonderful to play. Thanks everyone who helped out! You must all be part ofa very talented team to pull this off!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=01h22m32s I love the look going on and all the mechanics in the game. I thought it was fantastic. the two things that really killed me were my mouse leaving with multiple monitors and the game not pausing if I opened the menus to upgrade/shop. other than that this was very fun!
I went to the first area and walked north to the second area. I went back and forth and was told I did not have the right key. not sure what I need to do next and when I walked to the right I walked off camera. I think it needs some more guidance to the player about what the goal is. Also I think the game description should be separate from the controls as most people skim and might miss that you can dash with arrow keys.
Feedback in the stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=01h00m31s Really unique entry I enjoyed it!
Phenomenal unique experience. I really love a great game that is also expressing other concepts and pushing ideas. Games are Art and this is a perfect example of using a game to have people ask themselves other questions and create discussion among groups. Love the music and transitions as well as each mechanic. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=01h33m34s
I think this game is fantastic. The controls are very easy for me to pick up despite two different things going on. Had a great time playing it. check out @honest-dan he has a game I think you will also like.
I love that you have to use the mechanics in the beginning to start the game. your entry is one of my favorites as it combines two games I love. well done.
I played a lot of missile command growing up. This was a refreshing take on the system. If you decide to continue this game forward I think you should consider mobile as this would be a hit for casual small breaks and it is a lot of fun. Consider a timer ui display for each building when it's about to be ready for collection. Do you know how to solve your UI issues? if not reply and I can help you out with your canvas and camera settings.
Nice game!
Was a lot of fun. I wanted to keep playing but I have other people in queue so I had to cut it short. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=01h43m01s I think that the % is not counting presses that are additive to the pattern example if the pattern is right right right and I spam right right right right right with two in between I felt like those were not counted against me. I could be wrong though :)
I think this is perfect, I wish the leaderboards were working on the web version. Perfect Job. Well Done.
Had a good time, I wish each arrow moved me exactly one unit. Had a weird situation where I needed to be about 1 tile to the right and couldn't get the cards I needed to position myself there. Other than that one "bad deal" I had fun.
Oh awesome! glad you are going to keep going forward with it @AlejandrodeCea I'll follow your team and you on itch.io to stay up to date! I had a great time!
I had a really fun time, I noticed if I pressed space bar for range training it would auto win on start.
Really loved the mechanics here. Thanks for coming to the stream! Feedback and gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=02h22m41s
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bb2brtm2uiw0wqr/AnxietyHellWin.zip?dl=1 ^ use dl=1 for a better download experience. I felt the games were a little two separated unless the mechanics combined more. Feedback via stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=00h51m11s
Thanks for all the feedback! I cut a lot of things out because of time but the support makes me really want to continue post LD41! @danes1111 I am going to add a toggle setting for this after LD41 @elHombreBanana I worked on this as much as I could. the real solution is to rewrite the AI trigger and change it from using Circle2D collider triggers to something more fair for the user's specific resolution. It's on my list! @SamuelDeboni YES too short :( Follow me on itch for some updates after the jam everyone! https://tigerj.itch.io/
@Bongard22 Originally I wanted a pop up to appear and pause the game each time you picked up a spell for the first time. Also I intended to have the different spells have different color when they are loot as the spell_id variable is rolled when they are "dropped" I just ran out of time. I will probably update the game post jam based on all the feedback! Thanks!! I also originally planned on the "deck" being separate from your collection of cards with a UI to manage the deck as needed. These were all cut for time.
@PackNSlash speechless! thanks so much!
Troubleshooting this bug right now, my gf just returned from a trip and I saw it happen to her as she played it. @folex70
@coda-highland the spells need to be used with right click after collecting them (normal attack is left click) fireball needs to be aimed at an enemy where the mouse is located. I did play it a bit on my macbook without issue, it is intended for a mouse and keyboard only input like classic arpg games (diablo/diablo2)
Thanks a lot for giving it a play! I do appreciate your feedback!
@GoodKenneth Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. You are correct, even in design there are less enemies as you get closer to the boss as I wanted to make sure players had inventory to fight it since he can pass through walls. Not sure about your mouse but I am sure there is some junk code :) The card mechanic needs to be thought out a lot more.
Thank you so much for playing!
@aevek Thanks so much for the stream! you are spot on about the UX/UI/HUD! I appreciate your comment! @Zukureneno audio was an after thought and I ran out of time to adjust/test it. Sorry if your ears are bleeding :) I need to see how to use Unity UI / Canvas components on a prefab in order to put the health on the enemy. I want to do this after the JAM but didn't have time to google/implement it. So happy for all these great comments thanks!
@Coda Highland I believe I have an asset that does something similar but I was avoiding using it for the jam. Thanks so much for explaining the D3 console controls, I was actually going to google this later as I have only played the PC version! I think I need to go buy it to really experience it correctly and implement something similar or influenced by it. I've added it to my post jam list of things to look into/improve! thanks so much again for the feedback https://trello.com/b/50HxARaq/magic-and-machines
@croewens I will check out your game after work today or tomorrow (I have an office dungeons and dragons monthly game tonight). You can submit your game to be on the stream, the next LD stream I have is Saturday morning at 7am eastern North America https://goo.gl/forms/LEUph71qcnhTS8SF3
@ThatSommeS absolutely check out the windows version all the OS versions operate better than the web player for my entry. If you like it follow my itch account for updates. I’m going to build it into a full game.
@BitJester Media what version of the game were you running if you have a moment. thanks!
@Rock-Night thanks! for anyone reading this check out @Rock-Night 's twitch stream sometime! https://www.twitch.tv/rocknightstudios They are making a pretty awesome looking game and stream development
thanks @Honest-Dan I appreciate the feedback! I'm working on a lot of changes to release after LD41, adding your camera comment to the list! If you are scrolling through comments and are not @Honest-Dan you should go follow him and check out his twitch channel! https://www.twitch.tv/honestdangames
@Joror more stuff is on the way. This level and boss are being scrapped for more developed content. Stay tuned on itch post LD for updates! most of the ideas were prototypes to try out, it's the first top down game I have made so I had a lot of learning to do in limited time. @SpaceMonkey yes the camera does need work! Thanks for the tip on EMP I've never messed with Unity particles before this entry. no menu and no self made music do to time issues that is changing post LD. thanks for the follows! @StrangerYann the UI is actually being totally redone as we speak. I am waiting until after LD to update the game though. I have local build with much better layout and art. Thanks for playing!
@StrangerYann you can see a gif I just made of the update coming soon with this tweet. The UI is now centered and the enemy health is over their heads. https://twitter.com/stalkjimmy/status/995841159023951872
I thought rulers would be historical rulers. I think the theme could have been tied in better but I do like your efforts spaceface! I love the art style and the bouncy feel the game has to it. The controls and camera work is well done also. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=00h05m43s
One thing to improve the SFX would be to lower the volume a little and smooth them out with fading. I liked the effect of the tears on the game. I was not ready and it surprised me. It's neat. I felt it was two games of the same style, even though one is catching and one is shooting and catching they are very similar to each other and although related with dependencies on one another do not form a cohesive experience. the art is really cool.
I had a great time playing, even though I am immortal :) If you decide to build it out a scoring mechanic and penalty for discarding cards might be interesting. Thanks for hanging out in the stream! Here is a link to the highlight https://www.twitch.tv/videos/255427387?t=02h03m27s
I love the story you have. The script is really awesome and the pixel art rocks. I am a fan of hectic gameplay and multitasking challenges. your game brought a great mix of cooking sim (cooking mama / overcooked) and retro arcade action via the catching mechanic. Well done!
If you decide to continue dev I would try to get the UI all pixel fonts so it's consistent, I think the ramping is a little challenging and I also don't like that if the dude wants fries and the next guy wants fries and a burger I cannot queue/make both and deliver. there seems to be and inventory challenge that would make the experience even more enjoyable.
Thanks so much for submitting and being on the stream for twitch. I really appreciate your game and that you came to hang!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=02h08m05s Loved it I like the balance mechanic the more I think about it of not killing everyone just enough to let them deplete the blocks while you place them. It's a fun game. I also like how hard it is to make out the tetris pieces. all the art and sound is great. well done.
