Pretty funny, as a farming junkie i just had to get all the gear. This has great potential ^^ All that is needed now is some form of goal for the character.
It's a really cool idea using the letters "S,N,O,W,M,A,N" in order to control the character. However, it felt really awkward having to hold your fingers on all the spread out keys at the same time. This made the controls a bit of a double edged sword. As for difficulty i feel you know my opinion already, holy crap it's so hard, i made it a few meters at best. But thanks to the ability to very quickly retry and instantly be in action, it motivates you to keep trying, which is really neat! All in all, it's a cool game (pun intended).
I like the trick of using the magnifying glass in order to get pass the boundaries that the theme imposes. You need to think about what motivates the player to play the game.
I'm not really sure why, but i didn't find the "fun" in this game, maybe It's just me that lacks an understanding of these kinds of games. One thing that could enhance the feeling in the game is to add some music. Kudos for size of the game and variety of items, good luck in the contest!
The humor is just my type, kind of reminds me of an old game concept i made. It's not only well made with consistent quality, you could actually call this completed. Of course there is always things you can improve on or add etc. but it looks way past the minimum viable product. So kudos to you!
I love the snowing effect, the gather snowballs animation, that there was a (kind of) day and night cycle. It felt really hard hitting the enemies with the snowballs, which was nice in it's own way (takes me back to the nes era). If you were to redo the game I would advice you rethink your priorities.
It's like rock paper scissors, but way cooler, and actually challenging. What needs some work is the overall feel of the game, one way to improve this that i thought of is by implementing some sort of dynamic music that scales in intensity as you progress. Good luck!
The graphics looks really nice, it's a shame everything is so zoomed out. Could this be fixed by placing the areas differently and increasing the resolution? Really great job on making so much content for the game (considering it's just a 2 day project).
Cool! This really deserved to win : )
I found it entertaining! It was nice that it was more of a complete game than a playable demo. If you want to continue working on the game I'd recommend working on the USPs, all in all.. well done :)
The Web version doesn't work, but the Download EXE does.
Anyways, I see one major flaw with this game, and that is that it's super zoomed out, which only makes it hard for me to see what I'm doing, and it seems like a waste when your featured screenshot looks so nice. This could easily have been avoided by simply increasing the resolution.
I personally dislike talking about bugs in reviews, but if you're not aware of it, it needs to be said. I was walking around for a couple of minutes trying to find my way around before i realized the world was randomly generated. There was a seed where i was locked in, unable to fully explore the map. I like the over all feel of this game, kind of reminds me of dwarf fortress, and the music was really great. Good job over all, and good luck!
Cool! I love the fact that it's more or less a complete game, it's also got good and consistent quality, good job :)
Interesting zoom mechanic but I'm not sure it works, I feel very restricted when playing. If you were to continue working on the game I'd recommend looking over that aspect. And also take a look at what motivates to player to play the game. I love the graphics though, feels very sonic-esque.All in all I'd say that this game is in the top 1/3 of all entries, good job!
One of the most entertaining games I've played so far. I'd love to see a complete version of this with more variations and hidden secrets. Good luck in the competition!
At first I didn't understand how to kill the enemies, but I'm guessing the text in the top left keeps the text if something is equipped. If you were to continue working on the game that is something i would recommend making a bit clearer, some music would also be neat. All in all I thought it was pretty neat. Good job!
If you did everything by yourself you deserve a big pat on your back, this is probably the best game I've played so far, a shame it's not in the compo : )
Is a cool way to deal with the themes restrictions. Can't believe you had time to make it all not just the 6? mini games but also kind of a console that they all play on, Well done! Other than that I think you know as well as I do what needs work and what doesn't.
I love the concept. Because of the games title I initially thought you were going to control the asteroids and try to destroy the ship, when i realized that wasn't the case i thought you (the ship) would have astroid properties (i.e. breaking apart into smaller controllable parts.) That aside i still thought it was a neat experience, well done!
One of the best uses of the theme I've seen, well done on that! Over all i thought it was a solid concept. The thing I'd recommend you take a look at is the controls. Maybe using the mouse for aiming the canons and clicking to shoot will feel more natural? aah, best thing is to test different things out I guess. If you decide to keep working on this, send me a message or something when you've got a new update, I'd love to follow it.
Interesting way to interpret the theme. But damn, the game was harder than i thought. The gameplay itself were pretty standard so if you plan on continue working you should check over the actual gameplay. And really go into the nitty gritty parts and ask yourself "why" from time to time, for example why are you collecting fish, what does it bring to the game? Over all i think you came a very long way considering the short time you had developing this, well done :) A final thought... Are you the player playing the character or are you the player playing a player playing the character?
Damn, that's some groovy music, well done!
If you were to continue with the game I'd recommend that you up the graphics and take some time making the enemies behave differently. I'm all for this, so send me a message or something if you are gonna continue : )
I loved all the colours on the screen after playing for a minute or so. The music creates a very unsettling mood which is cool, but it can get a bit repetitive after a while. If you were to continue working on this I'd recommend working on the feedback which will let the player know when they're doing something right or wrong. All in all, thumbs up!
It's mesmerizing looking at the colours playing around and getting mixed. The overall feeling of the game was really nice, but what i found lacking was the gameplay itself. If you were to continue on the game, you should ask yourself if you can increase the level of fun through gameplay.
I'm beginning to question my existence.
5/5 toasters. 1/5 Overall score.
As a fan of rhythm games, I can safely say that this was satisfying :) One thing that you need to work on if you plan on continuing with the game is feedback. Just something that lets the player know (in realtime) when they hit the right notes or make a mistake. Good luck!
Interesting mechanics, i did something similar once, planet mechanics are so much fun. Anyways if you plan to continue working on this game I'd recommend you to look over the part that makes the player want to continue, essentially what keeps the player excited. Good luck :)
Cool to see some C++/SFML, hopefully I'll feel comfortable enough to try it out some time.
This was a cool little game. The only thing I'd recommend working on gameplay wise, is making the notes sync up with the music. Well done!
I love the fact that this is a complete game (of course you can always improve what already exists and implement new content), so well done on that! I also think that this game kept a consistent quality level across all categories. (This is the first entry where all categories have received the same amount of stars.) If you were to continue working on this game I'd recommend letting the player learn the controls though playing the game instead of having a list of instructions in the game screen. Well done!
I thought it was cool. It kind of reminds me of five finger death punch. The main thing i would recommend is juicing it up a little.
This is pretty neat, I love the aesthetics that the music and art gives rise to. If you were to continue I'd recommend looking on how you can improve the feedback (ex, highlighting the square you're on, or showing possible moves etc.) Good job!
