Cool artdesign and mood!

jefvel 2022-04-04 21:11

An interesting game! That weapon is so strong! It's fun to just shoot it into the corners of the level to clear almost every enemy at once. It would probably make sense to give it some kind of limitation, like the bigger the triangle, the less damage it does or something like that. But it's very fun to be able to be so powerful :)

Great job!

arscene 2022-04-04 21:25

I love the concept of the attack, drawing a triangle is very unique and it works really well with the design of the level. The weird little sounds that the enemy make are pretty fun. You made a really cool camera effect when sprinting.

This game has a very nice concept, the downsides I see are: The controls could be a bit more snappy Some people seems to spawn horizontally There are some z-fights between the triangle you draw and the floor

Nice job !

luquio 2022-04-05 03:33

Very innovative! Great work!

nardandas 2022-04-05 05:56

What the heck was going on!? Super innovative way to kill things. I found the movement patterns I adopted becoming quite regular, but the gameplay remained super super fun. Perhaps making sliding a bit easier on the hands would be nice...

2022-04-05 08:31

Love the cover art!! The game is good too. Maybe a bit variety for the map (multiple cores etc)

danonino 2022-04-05 08:39

@arscene Thanks for the feedback. We unfortunately ran out of time to fix the horizontal enemies bug.

danonino 2022-04-05 08:41

@jefvel yea definatly would need to add damage fall off or maximum range on a bigger map. We made the weapon so op because we made the enemies unfair too. thanks for the suggestion!

hackergreg 2022-04-05 09:54

I really like the art and mood of the game. The controls feel really nice even though I played with a trackpad instead of a mouse. I think it was very fun, inspiering stuff!

tigerj 2022-04-05 12:15

I like the triangle concept. It is very unique! Here is the best run I had: Capture.PNG

lolopupka 2022-04-05 12:24

The post processing is GREAT I really love it. Main mechanic is very unique and interesting it was very fun to play this game!

danonino 2022-04-05 12:49

@lolopupka Thanks for playing!

niklas-zhaga 2022-04-05 13:54

I dont' understand why my in-game mouse sensitivity so high, so I couldn't play it in the convenient way =( But game still looks fun, guys, great job!

rufus 2022-04-05 14:09

Very innovative, very fun, a little bit too chaotic and buggy (sometimes enemies launched me through walls and attacks didn't register for some reason), otherwise a really good game that fits the theme perfectly!

minusc 2022-04-05 14:18

Game looks really great, love the "TRON" vibe or something. It's hard, i cannot go further than 1000, but still I like the idea, and it works very nice. Good job !

slowline 2022-04-05 14:34

Interesting Game Concept very hard tho :D

ildenh 2022-04-05 14:36

Very inovative "triangle" weapon. Feels like i am traping my enemies and blasting them off with the final point. The health bar for the player feels kinda useless as the enemies only attack the core, so i never died before the core died.

timur-bahadir 2022-04-05 14:41

I love the vibe of the game ^^ The weapon definitely has my vote for most overpowered of all time xD

epu 2022-04-05 14:48

the triangle weapon/attack is very unique but took me some time to figure out but was great once I got used to it

I also love games with high speed movement like titanfall 2 or get to the orange door so I quite enjoyed this one also the menus felt very responsive and high quality. I am honestly quite surprised that making a game of this complexity (especially in 3D) is even possible in 72 hours lol.

tailow 2022-04-05 15:30

@epu Thanks! Titanfall 2 was definitely one of my main inspirations for the movement in this game so I'm glad you liked it.

lvl99chicken 2022-04-05 18:26

Really unique triangle weapon mechanic and post processing brought the simple graphics much more to life. The music got a bit repetetive but did the job in setting the mood and pace. Overall enjoyed the game! And nice job having a main menu with convenince settings like volume and sensitivity.

borgi 2022-04-05 19:29

Very unique weapon, I really enjoyed it. Took some time to get it right but it does work! Also the graphics are supercool and the text-to-speech voices of the robots were fun :D Very nice work for this jam!

cresceda 2022-04-05 20:10

Yeah the main thing that pops out for me here is the "combat" system. Never really seen anything like it. Nice entry =)

baconinvader 2022-04-05 20:14

Triangle attack is cool, I thought it worked really well. I think the map design could have been a little better though, maybe I just didn't use wall-running enough

binaryspark 2022-04-05 20:15

Really cool idea that you can draw these triangular areas. That's quite unique. Looks neat too, bloom is great, isn't it? I do think the pacing could be a little bit on the slower side, but great work otherwise!

davision 2022-04-05 20:17

Thats a really cool idea. Almost like basic modeling used as a weapon. The simple style is also interesting. I feel like more could be done with the level desing and using it for your weapon. Like different colored walls color the triangles which then need to match the enemie maybe. One thing that I found being wrong is that I could just draw a triangle on the floor to destroy the enemies.

convg 2022-04-05 20:42

Ah, glad to see a fellow titanfall player :D

The movement mechanics were fun, more so than killing the enemies, which got pretty boring when you realised you could just draw a massive triangle. Nice game though, the graphics were cool too, and the voicelines lol

izokia 2022-04-05 20:50

A very unique "combat" concept. The game was fun and had some jaming music to it. One thing I'd say felt like a let down was that gameplay was very linear and that no matter what I did, there was no way to handle the amount of enemies from the get go. Other than that the movement was fun and I enjoy traversing the map trying to hold them off. Screenshot (10).png

thegameoverguy 2022-04-08 00:25

Very innovative!

cypherdoesstuff 2022-04-08 13:10

Games with slide mechanics are chefs kiss, love the triangle defense, love the aesthetic. nice!

his-games 2022-04-09 09:07

Had a crazy amount of mouse sensitivity, so I had to play like my mouse was made out of butter. I really liked the aesthetic, however, and the gimmick is very cool. Was missing some critical polish and points, though, so work on that.

muriel 2022-04-09 10:13

First of all I loved the start screen and the sounds there.

Interesting weapon choice, it takes a bit to master but I stared to feel quite confident after a while (at the beginning it was a paint when I was being chased as I was drawing the triangles behind the guy jeje)

Good job and solid entry, thanks for making it!

dokan 2022-04-09 12:11

Very good concept. I really liked the core light, it creates a great atmosphere

proxy-games 2022-04-10 04:22

Very nice work, overall! The general aesthetic of the graphics and the music choice works wonderfully at setting a tense mood. The gameplay is interesting due to the unique weapon, which comically turns any gameplay footage into absolute chaos due to all the mouse movement. The game does need some more polish, though, as some enemies would float horizontally for some reason? Regardless, great job!

nsadie 2022-04-11 18:45

Nice mood, music and art style! The gameplay was fun and the weapon was quite innovative.

niterich 2022-04-14 17:18

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this game. The triangle attack was very innovative, the movement was smooth, fluid, and responsive (wallrunning/jumping was especially well done and fun to play with), and the audio and visuals were very competently done and meshed the feeling of the game well.

But I just couldn't get the triangle attack down pat - does it deal damage to anything caught in the polygon in 3D space? Does it send out rays from the camera and attack anything that the triangle covers on screen? Why does it only seem to kill enemies some of the time - do you have to attack a certain part of them? And while the triangle attack and the wallrunning were both well done on their own, I don't think they compliment each other well - wallrunning requires fast movement while the triangle attack, in my experience, favours more accurate standstill movements.

For clarification, I enjoyed my time with Kalopsia and would like to see more of it in the future. I just think it needs a bit more polish and focus.

(also, yeah, mouse sensitivity was suuuuper high for me too.)

unidaystudio 2022-04-18 10:50

I just want to point out that I loved the doom style cover art. That's why I'm here. :P Well done!
