Love it! Wonder what would happen if I choose wait for an hour? ;)

selgeron 2018-12-04 02:37

Was the final boss the kid or the dad? Either way this was a great game, interesting and had me hooked. Also pretty darn hard too! Now to see what happens if I wait an hour...

legavroche 2018-12-04 02:39

Challenging final boss fight, but very fun! Am also curious if you guys planned for something else with the 1 hour path. Really enjoyed the use of cheery art on the surface, made it that much creepier

blondeman 2018-12-04 02:40

I really liked this one. I liked that you can restart whenever you want to, and the story was interesting. I also liked how the theme slowly changes as you get farther into the game. One problem I had that really showed itself while fighting the last boss, is that the I-frames when dashing seem too low. I feel that you should stay invulnerable the whole time you are dashing, and maybe a little after so you don't feel cheated on a hit.

darylsteak 2018-12-04 02:43

The game was fun and the idea was great! It was a little too hard for though, so I haven't finished the game yet. The art and sound are very very well done.

Very nice

eidovolta 2018-12-04 02:55

I love this so much, from the moment i saw it on the front page i fell in love. Finished the game in minutes because of how fun it was! Great job guys. First song reminded me of Super Meat Boy :) very cool

verbante 2018-12-04 02:57

Wow. What a powerful story. Mindblowing aswell. Also pretty hardcore and rewarding battles. Cool graphics. Total banger.

apccr 2018-12-04 02:58

amazing!!

blondeman 2018-12-04 04:10

I'm proud to say "lol why"

doctormozart 2018-12-04 05:20

Excellent! You've caused me to have a second browser window open sacrificing time. Loved the feel of this game - you both consistently produce quality. @kajnoon Any chance you're going to upload the audio to your soundcloud?

doctormozart 2018-12-04 06:26

YouWin.png My face after sacrificing an hour! Worth. Every. Second.

falak 2018-12-04 16:49

Challenge accepted. :sunglasses: I will wait for 1 hour. :clock1: I'm doing it Just to check :heavy_check_mark: is it really working XD. Expect a rate after that hour. (TBH it is really nice idea! you caught me! Good Job!)

dietzribi 2018-12-04 17:01

Thanks for the comments everyone! I can't believe people actually do the one hour thing!!! Whoever does this can see that we didn't count on people doing it :)

@doctormozart - he doesn't have a user on ldjam (maybe it's time that he makes one though) but he uploaded it because you asked :)

@dietzribi Awesome! Thanks so much. Kajnoon's beats are always great.

Woah this game was absolutely amazing. The art, the sound, the story. My only issue was that the size of your hitbox felt way too big, it took me a while to realize it was the actual size of the graphic - because of the 2d isometric perspective of the art of the game I was expecting it to be a square just at the feet. Getting hit in the head by something that is supposed to be behind you broke the perspective of the art, it also means its harder to dodge things coming at you horizontally than vertically. It was a little frustrating to beat the final boss because of this, but I loved the game and I had to beat it, and it was easier once I realized what my problem was. Amazing Game overall! Definitely a favorite from this LD :)

falak 2018-12-04 19:16

OK I'm back! THIS GAME IS AWSOME. Yeah it's hard but it's a challange to people like me! (I love Tou Hou so...) Graphic is good. Music is great! Gameplay is AWSOME! Good luck!

swanijam 2018-12-05 00:17

Amazing job! it felt really good and had a lot of *awesome* animation and sounds in it. Loved the music a lot too. I think you nailed it with the mood and i especially loved the timing of the Happy/Grim theme flashes. This is also an impressive amount of art assets for compo! So impressed!

plepletier 2018-12-05 01:14

Realy impressive game!!! I like a lot the sound and soundFXs. The mood of the game is great and the jogability is very challenger! Good Job team!

stardynamic 2018-12-05 01:56

Hi. Saw this game on stream. I'm a big fan of the art. :) The hitboxes could have been improved though

hempuli 2018-12-05 01:57

Very nice! I'm genuinely curious what would happen after waiting the full hour - that bit was very cool. In general this was an extremely solid game; the gameplay worked and wasn't too hard, the bosses were interesting and the graphics very good. The story was also very interesting even though a similar system has appeared a couple times over the years. Great work!

nkrim 2018-12-06 21:20

Fantastic, one of the first bullet hell games I've actually had fun with. And the fact that you had to double up on the art is also impressive. Everything looks and plays great, and is decently balanced. One of my favorites this jam!

tigerj 2018-12-07 21:36

Loved all of it. I found the end very hard but rewarding. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345732966?t=00h06m42s

lohii 2018-12-08 02:15

Very nice. Everything felt complete, the switching aesthetics was really interesting and the final fight was just straight up fun.

randomphantom 2018-12-08 04:27

Great fun, tight controls, challenge felt right and the graphics were tight. The shifting between the reality and fantasy was cool and well done. Great game!

rkuhl 2018-12-09 17:25

I loved the story and the combat felt pretty good, nice game.

rohezal 2018-12-09 21:06

Where can I change the time to wait in the JS script ;) ?

http://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/1175280/html5game/TAMUTU.js?BELAC=674626213

But for real, a very nice and challenging game. I love games like Zelda and Paradious. And this game is just got bosses which are unique, got a good AI and and challenging abilities. Maybe a temporary single field blocker like fire or a burning curse where you have to jump into water would be a nice addition. But anyhow this game is awesome and one of the most fun games in this LD:). Very nice work.

Who was the final boss? The father, trying to kill the son? The son killing himself? The son in a dream, not noticing the father killing him?

matank 2018-12-09 21:28

Really cool game, I loved all the boss fights! :)

Only thing that bothered me - there's pretty much no reason not to constantly hold the FIRE button. Would be nice if there was more of a reason to be careful with when you press it (e.g., an enemy with a shield that reflects shots back to you), otherwise I just hold the FIRE button all the time and forget about it.

Anyway, really awesome game, thank you for making it!

(also, I love the name :) )

pranjalbisht 2018-12-10 04:01

Wow, great entry, you actually managed to squeeze a nice story in there. Gameplay was fun, awesome job with the tone-switching with the graphics and audio! Now just to see what happens if I wait...

pranjalbisht 2018-12-10 05:49

...holy crap that was amazing! Innocent mode! XD

theonethatneverwas 2018-12-10 12:06

Amazing game! The best I have played on this ludum yet! Good job! The gameplay is great, as well as the art and mood. Congratulations to the team

hitchh1k3r 2018-12-22 02:03

Just beat the final boss, now let me write this up with the countdown is going...

 This was a lot of fun, and the difficulty progression was perfect for someone of my skill level. The narrative was very dark and well written, with enough left ambiguous to make me think.

:point_right: I'm generally not a fan of this genre, but I think this is a bit easier, because I was able to beat it. It would have been nice to see the theme/narrative tied a bit stronger into the game.

:star: Overall excellent job, I really enjoyed playing this!

hitchh1k3r 2018-12-22 03:35

PS. ...neat. (**spoilers?**)

!> The last boss' "innocent" graphic's seemed a bit more rushed, which makes sense if you anticipate most people will not see it. !> It was really cool that there was some payoff ^_^ thanks for that!
