Cool game, very addictive!
Cool game, but god, I hate eels so much
Very cool game, this puzzle blew my mind
A very addictive game, the gameplay feels nice
Thanks so much for the feedback! @OldDog — Really happy you enjoyed the game! A boss underground is a great idea, I’ll definitely think about it. @BarnabeWild — Glad the music and shooting while falling worked for you! @Shakirovich — Thanks for the helpful notes! I’ll definitely consider tweaking the lighting, improving the ending, and adding new mechanics.
Thank you very much for your comments, I also like the idea about the lanterns.
Thank you so much for your comments! You’re right — the game could use more interesting reasons for exploration, and the option to just dig straight down while ignoring enemies kind of breaks the balance. I’ll work on improving that in the future.
The idea of the wall drawings as hints was inspired by The Binding of Isaac.
As for the “restoring the balance disrupted by darkness” — it’s more of a hint towards a possible future expansion than a concrete goal in this version.
Спасибо за отзыв, классная идея, возьму на заметку.
Cool game, it really captures the jam’s theme. I couldn’t get past level 6, but it’s awesome that the wizard gets a new ability each time.
These sounds and visuals create an amazing atmosphere — I’m absolutely thrilled by it.
I liked your game — the controls are complex but feel satisfying. I wish there were more sound variations for shooting, but the sounds are still good.
I really liked your characters—they’re super fun! I’d also like the Collector to appear more often in the later levels, maybe even at fixed intervals after a certain number, but everything else is great.
I have no idea how you managed to draw all of this. PS: the green one killed me.
Nice characters
Cool game, I already managed to lose twice хD
I really enjoyed the game — it has an amazing atmosphere. The mechanic of taking parts from enemies wasn’t obvious to me at first, but once I understood it, I really liked it because it makes you think strategically during combat. I would also love to see random events or maybe dialogues that could further enhance the atmosphere of the game. In any case, great job!
Thank you very much
Glad to hear that. I don’t have such a monster, but I actually like this idea — thanks!
Thanks everyone for leaving comments! After the jam I’ll definitely work on the balance and add the ability to rearrange placed monsters.
Wow, thank you so much for such nice comments!
Thanks for the feedback! No, I haven’t played Wildfrost. I’ll definitely add the option to view the deck after the jam. The End Turn button ends the turn and starts the battle. The fact that the play buttons also do this is a bug.
@purrseus I’m glad to hear you liked it so much — it really motivates me to keep working on the game. Is this about the mobile version (graphical bug)?
Thanks, Super Auto Pets was my reference during development.
@jim-jagers I’m glad you managed to do that — the order is really unusual but opens up possibilities for different kinds of abilities.
If you enjoyed the game, please consider leaving a [rating on itch.io](https://t4ran.itch.io/monsters-in-jars/rate) as well — I’d really appreciate it!
@bangkerpow Yeah, I’ll keep working on that.
@ranarh of course, I’ll definitely add that in the post-jam version.
@mrdumpling There's a bug where the top-left buttons start the battle, but they still work.
@koolruz The thing is, each monster attacks only once per battle — this was done so that the side with more creatures would have an advantage. While I was describing this, I started thinking whether it would make sense to add a “speed” parameter that determines who acts first. What do you think?
@kyrio Thank you for your feedback! Answering your question — the buttons do exactly what you said; however, there’s a bug that makes them also act like the “end turn” button. And yes, your creatures do return to your deck. I’ll fix the button issue later and also add the ability to view your deck so you can make sure your creatures are being preserved.
nice game, I like your art style.
The game has an excellent style and an amazing atmosphere that makes you want to move slowly. However, the jackal of fear, on the contrary, makes you rush — maybe it should be reworked. Overall, it’s a great job.
Great work, I especially like the visuals!
Cool, I've never seen anything like this before.
I'm so hooked on your game. It's really well made.
Thank you!
Thanks @juyr! I didn’t have enough time to implement that, unfortunately, but if I keep working on the game, I’ll definitely add it.
Thanks everyone! @mr-tj maybe you ran out of chips.
Thanks! @verbante I’m really glad you didn’t shut it down! @verttixpertti I also really love poker, and even though I knew I needed to simplify the mechanics, I still wanted to add card drawing but I held myself back, hehe.
@shadyshade you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a comment like this 😄
Thank you very much 😊
Hahaha, hype @krawa
@kremlebot I didn't add this mechanic to focus more on reading emotions than on your own combinations, like in most regular poker games.
Thx!
Thank you all for the feedback. @juanrod707 yes, I slightly adjusted the chances of higher combinations occurring to add more variety ^^
A very interesting puzzle, but honestly, the fourth riddle was too difficult for me. Great job!
