Some kind o f tutorials would help to understand the mecanics of the seal, and their interaction, wasn't really sure of what is was doing. with a little polish, this is a nice concep, would like to play a post-jam version!
Lol, the concept is very nice, however, at level 2 i only add one ingrediant, which makes it impossible to complete the level. the audio was very nice and it's graphiclly nice too :)
The Graphics were super nice, sound effect we nice too! the game is neat and there's even an option menu! great work!
Damn this is the most fun entry and humoristic entry i've played so far. One thing, the scream at the beginning is really lound. Otherwise, great work :)
@mirakazumi we made everything from scratch during the 72 hours period of the jam. Thanks for the comment! :)
@fupi thabks for thé feedback! If you look carefully when you enter the cave, if you look down the void, you will see the main island, it doesn’t change scene ;), also we wanted to make an end, but didn’t have the time in 72h, the main loop theme is in the corpse mecanic. We know it’s sad when t doesn’t really have an end. But kinda funny that it fits the theme haha
@philstrahl haha yes you had it open twice, that’s why you were having both music played at the same time :p thanks for sharing your review :)
controls are weird, I was getting stuck unable to move at many spots, had to reset levels many times, which it kills the fun. however i must say the idea fits the theme pretty well and the graphicsa are great :)
Haha, nice one!
No ennemies appeared, so i can't properly rate the game :(, also the music is kinda lound
that was so fun and the upgrape mechanic got my grind going, couldn't stop. Great game overall :)
Art is superb, jump is kinda weird, it sometimes doesnt jump, even tho i should be jumping in the loop. the idea of an action loop is great! good job :)
nice game, having perfect pitch makes it easy tho hahaha ;)
Great guitar playing, but sound effect are lacking, so is music in general. I didn't understand the gameplay of some task at all and couldn't get the hang of it because of the timer, so i found myself in a non-engaging gameplay. However, the art looks great. Good work!
OMG, i must say you deserve that 1st place in humour, just the way the guy enter than open his mounth and the sounds it does make laugh so hard XD. Great Work!
nice game! however i got stuck between 2 blocks beacuse i didn't get the logic of a level and i couldn't get out, i was just stuck there. i just had to reset the game. But overall, it's great!
Great game, had a lot of fun, also i really enjoyed the music, was it an OST?
I loved the art and the idea behind the game. i think it fits the theme quite well. However, i think the music was kind of lound and not really well mixed, the repetition of the high notes were becoming annoying, it would ahve need compression. (audio engineer talking here), some sound effects were missing to bring the world alive. On the mechanic side, I would have liked if there were some challenge incoming while flooded. Example woods coming down the river that could potentially destroy your raft. However i know it's a game jam game and we don't always have the time to do all we wanted to. You did a great job tho, Congrats!
Really liked the turnbased idea, but I didn't get the theme, maybee i didn't play enough? i did three fight than quit because of the lack of action, graphics would have helped. For the music i got that you were alone, but man this music is allienating. In my opinion it didnt fit the game thematics of fantasy world and there were no sound effects on action either. Well, those comments may sound harsh, but if I had to make a game alone in 2 days, i would probably have acheive the same as you did as I just started programming a few mouths ago. And i judge more of the sound aspect cause i'm a sound designer... Well if you have had graphics and more interesting sound design i think it would have propel your game a level higher i would probably have played it a longer time. That being said, thanks for your entry!
Ok that was shorter than I expected. Gotta say that you did a god job on the cutscene. the unstable mechanic of you being in anger mode vs normal mode is a nice concept that you could have develop more mechanic around it and what's nice is you don't control it, so it is really unstable. Also PLZ dont use the word unstable in the description of your ability in the cutscene. People can see what is unstable by themself. If you feel the need to explain what is unstable, than it's probably a bad concept. Themewise many people have done the concept of emotion but handled it differently, i can't say it's super innovative, but it respects the theme :), On the Audio part, if you didn't make the audio yourself, you should opt out of the category and not be rated for it.Finally i must say that your character is so ugly it made me laugh ;)Thanks for your entry.
I really liked the combination mechanic to cast spell, the art was nice too. the only thing that really bothered me was that it was so hard to aim. i think the gameplay would have been better if we could aim with the mouse and have point and click movement or if it was controller compatible. Aniway i still really enjoy your game. Good work!
Nice level design, liked it a lot!
Oh god so much text to read! I honestly didn't expect that kind of game, i think that its well made for a game of that type, expecially with the time constraint. In my opinion, a tutorial would have been great, because i had to read all this stuff x). Otherwise it's a good entry, congrats :)
nice entry, i had fun, awsome level design!
Those voice made SFX literally killed me XD i was so not expecting that. Nice entry, it would have been interesting if those bugs had some AI to move or something that would have propel the game to a next level. thanks for your entry!
@dev-dennis you are controlling the goat, not the cart ;)
@edevjogos the cart goes faster and faster over time, the carrots slow down the cart, but it cannot go under minimal speed, so maybee you got a ton of carrots and couldn't see the change ;)
that was a nice experience, but i kinda feel the soundtrack didn't really fit the game itself. It didn't really immerse me in the world, another thing is the gameplay, eggs were so hard to pick up, why just not do a pick up button like "E"? Aniway, the concept was nice and still had fun playing your game :) congrats dude :)
Maybee I was just lucky but i got the right combination on my first try and won hahaha, Really likes the graphics, props, as for the gameplay, it's working well, but once i won, I didn't feel like i should continue playing because i just had solve everything in like 10 sec? which felt a little bite sad considering the amout of effort that was put in the game on the design side. If the gameplay wasn't lacking and you had have develop more gameplay mechanic, your game would have been next level. Your mood is also really nice. As an audio designer and music composer I will specifically talk about this topic for the rest of my comment. If we talk only about the SFX, the one you have are nice, i wouldn't change them, but i would add some, for example when you pick a ghost thing, theres no sound at all, it coul have been an oppoortunity to hear a scream of a tortured soul or something. Music wise, The Theme from the menu is WOW it really propels me in the world it demonstrate your understanding of music. But then comes the super agressive theme of the game loop. Oh god my ears This midi audio is hurting a lot XD. I understand that you wanted to shift the mood to something more comic, but it's so different from the menu theme. I think it lacks a little bite of cohesion between your two tracks. The second also fells a little bite more rushed out, maybee because you spent to much time on the menu one? i dont know, but it was kind of a drop in quality compared to the first one. I dont know what software you are using for music, but if you are wrtting a score like i suspect you are doing, I would recommand finale or sibelius, than for your sounds, you should buy noteperformer. It's really cheap and it really delivers good result quickly without even haviing to mix. So that's it, thanks for your entry guys :)
nice idea with the thread i had fun playing it. However i think its a little bit bland and generic on the graphic and audio side. I didnt really get a particular vibe. I heard on stream that your brother did the audio. congrats, but as a music graduate, i would recommand he takes some lesson in composition and music theory to improve is skill. He is on a good way, but there's a long road ahead if he want to go professionnal. :) Peace!
wow such a unique gameplay, really likes it and had fun, however, i can't rate you on the audio since you especially said it was royalty music.. When you dont make the assets yourself, plz opt out of the category. taht being said, really nice entry :)
Holy this is so HARD, how does people get such high score! Oh well, maybe i'm just bad hahaha, I found my way here thanks to your post on sound design. I would say that even tho you didn't make your own sound, i think you"ve got a good flair to choose what kind of sound your game needs. I think the audio was well balance overall and the music well chosen. If you want to get into sound design, i recommand buying a quality recording mic and a sound card. Than there's a lot on tutorail on youtube to help you start :) For music, it's more complicated to make good music if you didn't study music theory except if you are a natural born. If you wanna learn music theory tho, i recommand you learn the music theory basics than start learning counterpoint and harmony. If you want advice on where to start you can contact me :) Peace!
Nice one, that was clever, really enjoyed that game, good entry! :)
haha wtf did i just play XD , great job you created an abomination!
hahaha Bird fight, really likes it, likes the art, likes the gameplay, my only critique really would be about the music. taht loop of 2 chords was... well... at some point I was like is the music going somewhere?, maybee thats Since i'm a music composer and sound designer i tend to listen more to this aspect in a game, because for me it is what brings your world to life. Your sfx were good but at the music level something was missing. If you listen to super smash bros track for example, theres always a musical theme playing behind and not that generic 2 chord progression in arpegios. Again i know you were 2 people only, and probably you didnt had enought time to make good music, so you are forgiven hahaha. Good job :)
Amazing polish, nice music, nice art. really loved all the details. Props do the chainsaw guy sound. Best SFX i heard so far!
This may seems a bit harsh of a review, but the game for me was unplayable, I had a really difficult time controlling the ship even after trying the game like 6-7 times. I didn't really understand what i should do even after reading the instructions the first time. After the 3rd trying i did get that you needed to bring stuff to the drop zone, but the purpose of why picking certain object over others, i didn't quite understand... Also the fact the ship is always changing size and colors is super hard on the eyes. On top of having difficulty to control it, I was losing sight of it... You should put epileptic disclaimer on your game....
Good job on the music tho, I really enjoyed it :)
Bro, SDL2 ?!!? What did you eat to think, "hey I'm gonna make a game in SDL" XD ?, I know how challenging it is to use this stuff. It's a great challenge you gave yourself and I must admit it's really well done. You really deliver a nice game. Good job! :) Altough a little bite difficult hahaha.
Nice game especially for a solo one, it must have been a lot of work doing everything alone. Great job for delivering your game!
@remicraft the main scene has music it was tunrned off for some reason. Now its' on thanks for your comments :)
@raptor851 We are aware of the little place not being close with the collider, we decided to leave it there as Easter egg to see if people would actually try to go there and find it ahahaha
@krzyhau OMG, this is the best comment i've red in any game I made so far XD, thnaks for enlightning me on the way of living:)
@papabirb, @mikolino is messing with you :)
@claytonrumley you definitely didn't hear “My Heart Will Go On” melody's during the game ;). Remember, it's definitely not Titanic ;).
@saintchristopher777 Like jack, jumping into the blue abyss would only delay your inevitable death ;) thanks for playing!
Liked it, nice polish and good job on writing a full story especially in a jam! , also you made me close my browser, I had to restart x) Really liked the dialog SFX, so funny haha :)
That's a nice little game you have made :), I really enjoy the music and especially that VFX sound on the jump hahaha. The only negative thing i have to say really is that it starts lagging real bad when you get far and Pc control is really hard to play, once i used a controller it felt way better. poor people who don't have one :). But other than that, a job well done :)
I loved your take on the theme, the music was well mix although a little bite repetitive to my taste. The art was great. I loved the mechanic of the grapple hook idea although it was very hard to control at first but after i few play i got a little bite better. The thing i would have like to have is a reel-in option when hooked to something as sometimes you were just stuck and even jumping couldn't get you out. But over all, great entry, a job well done! :)
Really like the idea, and your take on the theme, it had a nice aesthetic and great mood. i manage to save 69 villagers :)
