Nice work, the game feels really polished and the sound design is great. Fun to play. I do wish the gun was closer to the character to allow for close-range enemy killing.
This is a really fun game. Did have a problem where I would move diagonally while only holding one direction though. It happened after I held two directions then let go of one of them, then would keep walking diagonally instead of only the direction that I was holding. Other than that I loved the game.
Love the arcade feel, amazing difficulty curve to keep the game short and the end feeling inevitable. Great work!

I love the graphics style, it's clear and appealing. The gunplay is fun as well, it's satisfying to get upgrades stacked and feel more powerful. Others have mentioned some wonkiness with diagonal movement, I experienced a little bit of that. Really fun and simple game though, nice work!
Nice little bullet hell shooter, but I would definitely disable the player/enemy collision.

I really like the pixel art and the overall gameplay mechanics felt well polished! I really enjoyed seeing the different types of guns you could get and the bullet hell feel came across well. It definitely fit the theme in terms of getting overwhelmed but it seemed to all maybe go too quickly from easy to hard? It maybe felt like this because of the small size of the game world, which I appreciate might just be me because the smaller size of the game world gives across a cool retro feel! Overall, I enjoyed playing!
Very nice! One thing a little annoying is that sometimes the bullets won't fire. I don't know if this is my mouse so it might not be a problem

Nice game, the difficulty curve is brutal I consistently died at ~2:10 mark, I do wish I could choose my own weapon at some point there are so many weapon drops I automatically switch weapon every second :P Had fun playing it!

This is a really fun game. Seeing the shotgun powerup show up had me ignoring all safety concerns and run for it. It gets very difficult real fast, but it is satisfying having a super speedy shotgun and shooting hordes of bats while I still can.

Very nervous, very juicy, very fun ! For a little while I actually believed I could hold them off since you loot very fast and you basically turn into a walking turret XD But I eventualy became completeley overwhelmed by the number of ennemies. Great work :)
UPDATE: The new highest time that I've seen is 2:26! If anyone is able to get to 2:30, you should post a screenshot!

I love the graphics and music in this one. There's a cool selection of power-ups and I liked how quick the gameplay was, it didn't feel like I was waiting around to get a power-up and you could feel your character getting more powerful. I think adding a bit of momentum to the movement would improve the feel of the game, and it'd be cool if the enemies didn't just move straight towards you. Nice job! :)
Your game scratches that certain itch of replayability. Simple but clean graphics. Does really well as a short break game.

Actually played 3 or 4 times. Noticed that I always lost around the 2 minute mark. The powerups were fun and added a lot of depth. Wish there were way more of those.
Nice work! I got 2:18 on my first try. It's really hard to move and keep aiming correctly! Also, I kept thinking the eyeballs were part of the background. Well done.
This is a hilarious game. The humor sets the tone right. The music is goofy and funny. I also like the mode where the game just tells you the mode as it progresses to get difficult. I managed to get to "How are you still alive?" in just 2:42. I saw a small glimpse that the shooting mechanic is a bit goofy as well. Instead of just shooting from the gun's hole, it's shooting right at the center of it. It's just a small mistake, you can fix it later. Overall, it's a great game. I love it!! :laughing:

This was a ton of fun! My only major complaint is, why make us hold down the mouse button to shoot? We never want to stop shooting anyway so might as well auto-shoot! My best time was 2:20

Big Vampire Survivors vibes, which is a good vibe to have. Love how thick and fast the upgrades come, and especially love the shotgun. For anyone gunning for a high score, I think a decent strat for when it gets impossible around 2:20ish is to find a shotgun and turtle in a corner.
Nice game!! Manaaged to survive for 2:30, it became imposible at that point haha. The game feels very polished and responsive, it's a simple but effective idea. Nicely done
Entirely underestimated the difficulty until around the 2 minute mark... Loved the little Risk of Rain-style difficulty ramping.

Really nice game! Gameplay is simple but fun, great sense of progression with powerups. The gun is a bit to far from the character hitbox, so sometimes bullet don't hit ennemies that are too close. Other than that, I had a great time, it's a very good entry! Well done :)
Really enjoyed trying your game! Around 2 minutes in I thought I would be able to do it forever but suddenly got swarmed maybe 10 seconds later! Definitely inevitable!

Great game, but I have no idea how anyone managed to get to 2:42 xD 2:20 is the best I could do.
Fun little game. I only managed to get to 2:12, after that it became too much to handle. I like the ramp-up in difficulty and the firing speed of the guns is well balanced.
I would have loved to have a little clearer audio feedback when I got hit because I didn't have time to keep an eye on the health bar.
Also I think a game like this would benefit greatly from a little bit more juice. I always recommend this presentation. It is a bit old but still very relevant. Not everything may apply to every game's mood but it is definitely good to know the things as options:

bullet hell, loved it. the controls are unbelievably smooth , i believe a lot of effort went into that.

really really fun! I managed to make it to 2:17 on inevitable mode, it was insane lol! Character speed felt just right, and the AMOUNT of upgrades you get made me really want to keep going.
I liked the shotgun WAY more than the machine gun. Having another weapon with more spread would have been fantastic. Also, a little randomization of some kind to the enemy movement would have been nice.
Overall really great entry!

Super fun little shooter! I don't know how the world record's 2:44, that seems absolutely impossible! My best was 2:22, which, while satisfying, was already really really hard. I think at the end the scaling is a bit wonky, and maybe some of the upgrades could be communicated to the player better, but overall really good
Yooo lot of fun to see the game genre we worked on be done in all sorts of ways. Managed to get to 2:17 before dying. Game gets pretty brutal at that point. Kinda wished I could've kept my shotgun all the way through, because it felt much stronger, haha

I said it before and i say it again. You can never do anything wrong with a simple but well done Twin-Stick shooter. I wished there were some comfort functions like restart and stuff. And a wider view would have been nice. Still, well done.

I thought I would suffer a lot more than I did in this.
I think it would be a lot of fun if the character would wear the boots after picking.

In fact inevitable, I tried 3 times but couldn't bet this time :c. Very well polished game, is pretty juicy and satisfying to kill those bats. I found the shotgun with high shoot rate amizing to play with. Nice work overall, no complains.

A really solid shoot em up. I wanted to do power-ups like you had for my own entry but I had ran out of time, but I was glad to see them in yours! The power ups kinda remind me of DX-Ball for some reason, so I initially avoided the damage up/health up because I thought they were bad pickups.
Great game.
Simple but fun game. I like how it ramps up over time, both in terms of enemy spawns and player abilities. A lot of games this jam have made this mistake of just staying stagnant and get repetitive quick, but this one keeps you on your toes. It does feel like it could use an extra mechanic of two to really make it shine, but it's a solid game overall. Nice work!

@shreemp Ha, yes! This is a thing. It's because `setInterval` runs in background tabs! For jam-y reasons, I didn't bother handling this properly. I thought it would have been really fun if I added a little easter egg when this happens, like the Grim Reaper comes and drags the character up and off screen or something.

Simple, but fun! I would have loved to see more weapon or upgrade variety. I thought the game was too easy and that I could just last forever, and then suddenly at the 2 min mark an absolute horde descended on me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Great game!

Bro I SWEAR I will come back on PC and annihiliate that record of 2:42, cause now i got 2:10 on a laptop trackpad and fricking want to defeat that top score, but yeah really addictive and simple, i like the small play area and the balancing on the difficulty is pretty much perfect. IMO the sound effects could've used a little improvement, but it was nice to have some sounds at least!
Graphics are pretty self explanatory, nice and simple pixel art :thumbsup: Mechanics worked great, i loved that you could sacrifice some health to go for extra firing rate, speed etc. but yeah i swear i will come back and post a thing of a new record 8) see you soon! (EDIT: I forgot to add it was simply a lot of fun, which is pretty much the point in LD games haha)

Addictive gameplay and very responsive controls. The Power-Ups felt amazing!
Really solid core game loop, good controls but I feel like being able to play with controller, as a dual stick shooter, would have been perfect. Pretty much all the content you needed but one or two more weapon types and 1-3 more enemy types would have taken this over the top.
I had the same idea as you! :D I just wanted to try solo 3D entry. Nice graphics, solid gameplay. Pretty easy until it was impossible. I had some balancing issues as well. Different weapons was a nice inclusion. Overall good stuff :)
