Kick ass graphics!

Stinky Pete by Dry Tree 2011-12-20T19:22:00

Great game w. good start tutorial and theme! Love the concept!

Cyber Shield by zapaman 2011-12-19T01:00:00

Excellent! Many kittens will die from me trying to best the Asian bots! :D

A Whisperer in Darkness: The Game by Sawtan 2011-12-20T20:39:00

Nah, I had to cut a lot of features and plans the last hours, so that's pretty much what I managed to do! I'll try to make it more skillbased when the voting is over, like giving the player a 1 sec peak before starting the shooting!

A Whisperer in Darkness: The Game by Sawtan 2012-01-08T10:38:00

Stargoat: hehe glad you like the gfx :)

caranha: Yeah, first time speed dev'in, so I had some issues with time planning to make the game an actual game and balanced.

Killing people is good, they are the agents of the evil Mi-Go's and need to be put down for their own good, the people carry additional loot and if you get them you'll earn more life at the end of the round! :)

Alone Creature by DSidhion 2011-12-20T19:41:00

Great little game, I would like to see the flashplayer centered on the page though, was a bit awkward to play it all stuffed to the left, Got a great mood over the game!

LD37 — One room

13 jellyfish by Four Quarters 2016-12-13T20:31:00

Lovely setup, graphics and sound are all making it feel like a solid make, the theme is stretching it a bit though, but the game itself is amazeballz! Great job!

levelone by dietzribi 2016-12-13T22:40:00

Really creative take on the theme! So full score in that category! Great job!

Creeping Darkness by sunesson.emil 2016-12-12T11:01:00

Damned it's hard! I got like 1.35 or something like that ;)

PacTwist by Prospero 2016-12-12T11:05:00

Wow! Superfun game, and innovative as well, it's a wee bit hard though, seems like there's no thought where the ghosts appear in relation to the coins, so you die a bit to early, perhaps reset lives when you clear a level? Love the graphics and the audio! Great job!

SpaceBeaver by OWC 2016-12-17T11:03:00

Solid gameplay, solid graphics, maybe a bit to easy with to little variation, I think you could down the health stats some to make it a bit more interesting, or up the enemycount earlier! A solid entry! Good job!

The Growing Room by eerongal 2016-12-12T21:15:00

Yay I won! Really great game, a good deal of fun and it was hard to let it go at all! Great job!

Xenopunch by Pietro Ferrantelli 2016-12-16T21:53:00

Super awesome game, would be awesome to have gamepad support on this ome!

One Hotel Room by Risse 2016-12-12T17:08:00

Neat concept, could work great on a bigger scale, like a hotel sim game of sorts! Great job!

sweet dreams... by Jan Peter (jpdev) 2016-12-16T23:29:00

Hehe fun little game, simple mechanics and innovative point system! Good job!

One room apartment by hunttis 2016-12-12T10:58:00

Good times squishing them bugs, it felt nice to swing the axe around like that, the game would perhaps be easier to lend your eyes on if you scaled the graphics up some, perhaps 2x the pixels :)

SANTA'S ONE ROOM by cjke.7777 2016-12-12T11:09:00

This game is hilarious! Love it, kicking the elves around as they deserve, great overall feeling on this one! Good job!

Gogol by BeardyBard 2016-12-16T23:26:00

Nice entry, great graphics! Controls were a bit hard, but other than that a great entry!

Professor Killalot by Ourson 2016-12-12T17:02:00

Great game, got solid physics and good pace, I only reached 23 at my go but might try it out a bit more later, so many games to test right now! Cheerz!

One Room Hotel by TerraCottaFrog 2017-01-01T11:45:00

Lovely, I loved Sim Tower back in the days, and this entry sure have some SimTower vibes to it! :D

Arena 3000 by automatonvx 2016-12-12T21:07:00

Hey, we had the same basic idea for game I see, the controls felt a bit hard though but it's classic for sure, great job on the compo!

INFINIROOM by Patacorow 2016-12-13T20:23:00

Really awesome entry, can see this at the top position for sure! Great job!

LD38 — A Small World

Sky Roads by BloodJohn 2017-05-01T18:03:25Z

Really great simple game, good mechanics and nice atmosphere! Loved the graphics, and cute audio as well! Good Job!

SLINGSHOOT by chaoclypse 2017-05-01T15:06:32Z

Yay! Great fun to play, Love the score board, and innovative mechanics!

The World of Zolcraft 🌎 by nervous-composers 2017-05-01T17:56:35Z

Hehe fun little experience, not much gameplay as it seems but a good go at the jam! Cheerz!

Karma is a Bitch by drmargarido 2017-05-01T17:44:25Z

Nice graphics, it was a bit hard to get the keys to work on the html5 version, but after getting it to fullscreen it worked out nice, I died by a platform spawning whilst I was at the door, not getting the platform on me really, so that was a bit of a let-down, but otherwise a great game!

Globe Guzzler by Eli Delventhal 2017-05-01T18:16:25Z

A Great little game, always nice with hungry planet monsters, kept good with the theme! And always nice to hear the anguished screams of planeteers getting whacked into smithereens! Cheerz!

Greedy Pigeon by jmborden 2017-05-01T17:38:51Z

The audio felt smooth and nice, I had some problems getting along with the controllers really, It's pretty obvious what to press when you look at the manual, but when in the game it didn't feel natural, other than that it felt complete and nice! Great job!

Attack on Smolwurld by smiley 2017-05-01T18:07:47Z

Nice game, we almost got the same idea there https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/attack-of-the-planetary-vampires good sound and gameplay, love the power-ups but it almost felt a bit to easy. Cheerz!

It's square to be a cube by Khorm 2017-05-01T14:49:27Z

First compo went great! Love the level progression, it teaches you the mechanics of the game in a great way! Will be a blast to do LD39! Cheerz!

SmallWorld by arg410 2017-05-01T17:33:49Z

It's a good start, but needs some sort of goal or score system to get me more engaged.

NO STEP ON HYOOMINS by makenai 2017-05-01T20:17:08Z

Hehe had a lot of fun playing this, I realized after my second play through that you was supposed to kill as few little hooomanz as possible whilst I was aiming for as complete carnage as possible! Makes it a cool game, either get as high time "score" as possible or try to be a nice guy and go for the low score. Great job!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Shipbuilder by Emil Sunesson 2017-08-01T10:32:14Z

That's a really cool lookin' ship you have there! Cheerz!

Esoteric alteration by Khorm 2017-08-01T10:21:03Z

Great fun, and you managed to get the difficulty levels in place to make it a great challenge! Still haven't gotten past stage 5 :D

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-01T19:28:44Z

Lock n' Load Gentz!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-05T21:50:56Z

Hehe, no-ones blaming you for it @jlreymendez, the pedestrians are literally asking for it! And make sure to collect a free car-wash token on the road to get excessive gore off of that windshield! :D

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-05T22:04:51Z

Here's a challenge for you guys, can anyone take my highscore? Post your score in the comment thread! :D

CARnage-highscore.png

CARnage by Rolle 2018-04-12T08:27:48Z

@pkenney Reading your comment is bliss! You understand where we wanted this game to go, sadly the time frame is a bit tight for going full metal on this one. It would be nice to take it the whole 20 yards post-jam, but none of us have that much time outside the jam (work, family and whatnot), so those 48 hours are our only dedicated playtime when it comes to game creating!

We'll try to keep the bar at a right height next time around to get the core feeling a bit more true. Not long till the next jam now, we'll take your thoughts to heart and try to deliver carnage for real!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

Larry Kroft and the Temple of Booze by thomz12 2017-12-07T21:05:38Z

Hehe now here's a character I can identify myself with! Need to find the lost booze and save the day! Really great game, I had to restart a couple of times, and I just wanted to go further into the tomb and finding deadlier traps the further I came! The graphics is great, and the controls are super solid, which is really important in a game like this! Great job on this one!

Super goblin tower by uchiro 2017-12-07T20:47:15Z

Hehe this game had all things going for humor points, and I wanted to rate the audio high, the start voice acting was hilarious! Love all the goblin variations, and the story is gold! A great submission! Cheerz!

Return of the Evil Veg! by dreadzilla 2017-12-05T21:48:29Z

Nice go on doing a multiplayer, though felt the controls was lagging behind a lot at times, got stuck in the corners a lot and the shooting was a bit irregular, are you feeding the controls through the socket and do the movements on the server? Might be good to check if the server gets overloaded and perhaps move some of the logic to the client? Anyways, a fun play through! Good job, cheerz!

Hellrena by LeFayGames 2017-12-07T21:16:29Z

I love me some top-down shoot-em-up, I actually made one of these a couple of LD's back so I know what goes into them. At first I had a good time, but then the controls started to get stuck, and the shooting and reloading didn't really work as well, so it was a bit hard to get into the grove. I also think a game like this could have worked with a smaller arena space. Makes the action come a bit faster and you really need to be tactical on where you take down your enemies. You got the theme down solid, and I like the fact that different enemies leaves different kinds of hell's for you as they are taken down! Good go! Cheerz!

super rush boyy by frescogusto 2017-12-07T20:41:29Z

Awesome game, really like the simple but clear graphics, it's a pretty hard game to get into, would be awesome to see gamepad support on this one as it would feel a bit more immersive to run around and fetch the "powerups". Other than that the game feels really solid from start to end! Always nice to see a game that feels so complete! Great work!

Kill The Dragon by kromeboy 2017-12-07T21:09:58Z

What the game lacked in mechanics it compensated with catz! Always a plus in my book hehe

The People's Army - a lite rock paper scissor TBS Game by Zapakitul 2017-12-04T22:19:07Z

Awesome comeback! It's a fun game, a bit hard to get the rules at start, but the smashing of cities feels marvelous! I will play it some more when I'm less super tired! We just published our game and our energy levels are super low :D It was a great round though!

Ketchup Quest - Endless Arcade Fighting to Protect Your Saucy Stash by samboyer276 2017-12-07T20:57:20Z

Hehe this was a great laugh, so high on the humor point, it was a bit hard to steer when using the mouse for shooting, I always thought I would shoot at the same angle as I had my mouse pointer, but after a while I understood that it was the way the character was heading that was the right angle. I think the game would have been easier and a bit more fun if you were able to shoot backwards while running, or else it was a bit hard to get the shots right. But overall a great game! Really enjoyed fetching them ketchup bottles, and I managed to drop Ronald down the building before he could do too much damage! :D

Capital Hell by Kapura 2017-12-05T21:10:08Z

Ahhh kamrat Marx! Do tha tango! You totally nailed the theme, was hard to shoot those pesky commies with all my cash blocking my sight, but then again, it's always nice to keep it down and real with the Burn! Great social commentary! Cheerz!

Save_Starship_R2D48 by R2D48 2017-12-05T20:51:02Z

Nice game, it could have done with some enemy variations, and perhaps different spread off the bullets when you gain additional guns. I managed to survive at the first try, I guess a highscore system would make it funnier to replay, maybe some combo of how much damage you took and how many times you fired your weapons? Anyways, great job! Cheerz!

Robo Tomb by Xacur 2017-12-05T21:37:53Z

Really nice little game, The mechanics gave it a great strategical edge, and it fitted the theme perfectly as the gnomes got more and more vulnerable the more you got, Super nice graphics, and the sound was top notch! Cheerz!

Mo' Gold, Mo' Dragons by tvance 2017-12-05T21:16:01Z

Nice game, I had some difficulty to steer at times though, perhaps a more asteroids like steering would work better (W to accelerate and AD to steer right and left). Wasn't able to make the dragons collide even once, but I guess I'm a bad dragon tamer ;D Cheerz!

Feature Creep by Garur 2017-12-07T21:37:04Z

Hehe I gave this game my full attention, right down to the fatal error! It was a great story and fun times to give the narrator some obscene answers! The graphics are neat and the theme got covered really nice! Great work on this one! Cheerz!

Wasted Space by Happy4488 2017-12-05T21:21:46Z

Great take on the theme, the game was almost a bit to hard from the get-go, would love to soften up a bit before I got all the rocks attached to me, managed to get some coins and jump some hoops, but in the end I failed critically, had a second go and it went even worse hehe, great lil' experience though, and a nice score for getting it to feel so complete! Great work! Cheerz!

Neon Hell by SirPumpyJam 2017-12-07T19:47:51Z

Awesome submission, the music and sound are awesome, shaders are of the scale and the game play mechanics are really addicting, at first I got really massacred, but after a couple of rounds it went a bit smoother, and you started be more strategic about how to use the boost in the best way to keep control of enemy fire. Would love to see some gamepad support on this one, would be a great title to just blast away on from time to time and keep a local highscore tab!

LD42 — Running out of space

TrackBlasters by paulloz 2018-08-15T16:53:14Z

Now this was a pure treat to play! I loved Micro Machines back in the day, and you put a nice spin on this one to get the theme in there nice and solid. Everything is pretty much top notch from sound to graphics to feel! Lovely entry to the jam! Great job! :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-13T19:22:34Z

@2lol555 Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to add more enemies and even a bossfight, but you know how it is, some things just aren't doable during the time constraints of a jam! (We had to spend most of today at our dayjob as well, so I only had time to publish the game t'day) Cheers!

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-14T06:34:03Z

@pkenney Thanks for the brilliant feedback! And yeah, the boomstick together with a healty amount of rage is a keeper in all situations! :)

The lava sure is unforgiving, especially if you snag a speed power-up in mid brawl and have a general direction into doom and pain.

We went for the safe mechanic this time around, usually we are more than 2 guys, but this time around everybody was out on vacations and such, so playing it safe and do something tight became the priority, paned out pretty good in the end.

As usuall we wanted to do more with the game, but had to cut some features short (a boss fight would be great, better floor mechanics has been discussed as well).

Thanks for the playthorugh and we'll meet in the trenches! Cheerz! :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-14T19:18:49Z

@popdaddygames Hehe it's a treat combined with Rage! :beers:

@team-gaivot Many thanks!

@ezra-lafleur Ohh that makes my day to hear! Super glad you enjoyed it! Cheerz!

@sam-estep Thanks for the nice feedback! We'll try to reproduce the bug behaviour that you mention, and see if there's any needs for fixes. Great to hear that you reached Wave 8, it get's pretty hard at the higher levels, always hard to balance games during the jams, but this time around I think we keep a fairly smooth progression on difficulty. We wanted to do more enemies (gun turrets and boss fight), but time just ain't there for during a weekend :D Anyways, lovely feedback, thanks a lot for playing! :metal:

@devwithmartinus Ahh lovely to hear! Glad you enjoyed it! :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-14T20:21:06Z

@freso It's hard to keep track of the floor when the enemy is at your gate, the devil sure is a tricky player! Thanks for testing it out! :)

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-15T06:12:58Z

@laura-estep Hehe thankx, and yeah, the two of us are avid beer fanatics during the jams, so it felt proper to tie the knot proper! ;) Cheerz :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-15T16:33:56Z

@awix Yeah, we opted out the music category this time around, all my tries att music failed, so we just spun up the good ol' Srfx for sound effects! By chance I've actually already tested and rated your game, an awesome entry, loved the terminatorish title screen! :D

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-16T10:04:40Z

@jjcp Ahh the save the Dudes game! Was a cool game, I think sfxr would have given it a boost for sure! But now you know till the next time! Was a cool entry without the sound as well though! Cheerz!

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-17T09:42:22Z

@linky439 Hehe yeah, you know how it is during these things, both us in the team had to take care of dayjobs at day 3, so we didn't get the full jam time either.

We should've done a arrow key binding as well i guess, felt, to oldschool though, I used arrows and ctrl for shooting back in the Quake/Doom days (was a total late bloomer of the new "Mouse look" thing).

Music would have been great, tried to get into the groove several times, but it just wouldn't come out, we're going to try to find an audio guy for the next jam, so let's hope it goes better that time around :)

Thanks for the great feedback! Cheers!

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-17T09:46:45Z

@outstar Hehe yeah, same here, I've been in love with the ol' double barrel since doom 2, was my favorite gun of choice in Doom 2016 as well (with a nifty rune combination) and you are totally right with the lineage on this game, it's totally inspired by the old-school shooters, the "Get Psyched" is a blatant tribute to the opening in Wolfenstein 3D that started my love for the genre.

Yeah, snatching one of them speed bottles right beside a border is pretty much death from the get-go, it's fun at times but frustrating if it happens to much. We did get some good ideas on how to make the floor mechanics a bit better, but the time to fix it just isn't there sadly :/

Anyways, thanks for the great feedback! Cheerz! :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-17T09:49:14Z

@alex-lutay Would be cool to have a beer-shotgun as well, right?! :metal:

Yeah, a free pass over lava power-up would be a great addition to the game actually, you have it in store till you touch the lava and it's active a second or two before it melts away again, would've been pretty easy to implement as well really.

Thanks for the feedback! Cheerz!

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-18T10:40:21Z

@kr4ft3r Ahh, you understand the conundrum of the thing for sure! We started off with orange bullets, but they got lost in the lava glow all the time, so the blue was our next jump, I think you're right though, I should've made the bullets in the same color as the crosshair perhaps, it pops out pretty well in the game.

Thanks for the neat feedback! Cheerz! :beers:

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-20T06:22:25Z

@paulhocker Thanks for playing it! Cheerz!

@ogma That's awesome to hear! $171k isn't all that bad, I don't think I've reached much higher than that either actually, so it's totally acceptable! The source can seem a bit rough, being made with a tight deadline and all, but I do think it's somewhat comprehensible. Great feedback to start off the workweek with! I salute you! Cheerz!

Space Scrap! by Alex Lutay 2018-08-15T16:44:48Z

Really nice entry, the graphics were amazing, and the mechanics felt interesting, if maybe a bit to complex for a LD game (I think most people tests a game for a few seconds before deciding if they understand it, and if not they proceed to the next game, ratings need to be made and time is always a jerk! ;) ) Feels like this game could be expanded upon and get a real release for sure! Cheerz!

A Blob's Life by pkenney 2018-08-14T16:04:17Z

Nice compo piece, at first go I went all in for the shr0oms, but on my second run I tried my best to savior the nice nice meat. Didn't go super great but I got me some servings at least, you nailed the theme on this one for sure, was a bit hard to know how the blob would act, but I managed to suffocate some of the little bugs at least! :) Nice and clean graphics, and informative sounds! Great job! Cheerz!

Flesh Packer by nervous-composers 2018-08-14T20:05:11Z

Haha! I giggled all the way through this one! The music really drove it in and everything was pretty hilarious from the get go! A great entry to the jam and exactly what I needed for the moment, need to pass this one on for sure! :beers:

Bag Man by GeorgeBroussard 2018-08-14T19:54:01Z

Hehe, a fun entry for sure, loved the simple yet effective graphics, I never got all 16 bags of gold though, came up to 13, but then it was all empty space, guess I needed to backtrack to get the last couple of gold stashes! But it was a fun experience never the less! Good job!

Evolucity - Build as high as you can! by Mazzletov 2018-08-14T20:15:31Z

Hehe such a nice take on the ol' city planner genre, I was a pretty lousy mayor from the get go, tried to play it smart but the game beat me each time, harder than the previous play through, guess I should stick with programming and put my mayor dreams behind ;) Cheerz!

Pre Alpha Build by PlusMinus 2018-08-14T16:50:11Z

Great entry, really nice graphics, loved the title screen, got an oldschool terminator feeling over it! The music was also right on, and the game got a great atmosphere, the mechanics was interesting and put it right on track for the theme, overall a great entry! Good job! Cheerz!

Invasion of The Jelly-Aliens by Cosdots_HM 2018-08-14T16:40:31Z

Nice game, a bit to hard for me though, I think getting off on a soft start would make it more accessible, always got blasted by candies that bounced around on the ground and totally wrecked me! :D Great music and graphics, an all around good entry! Cheerz!

TCGD AntiVirus '98 by Allen Oliver 2018-08-14T16:20:50Z

That was a treat to play through, great way to show progression with the memory bar, lovely to stumble upon a game that has an ending as well, you got a good feel for the progression. The gameplay could have gotten a bit more interesting with more power-ups, but I understand that this takes time and effort that one just haven't got in a jam! Loved the music. All around a great entry! Great work! Cheerz!

Hell's Highway by magicera 2018-08-14T16:10:38Z

The steering felt a bit to much on the slow side, I don't drive so I guess it's hard for me to connect with the atmosphere of the game, felt like it would be nice to have a clear goal, maybe get a level system in there, and perhaps a game over state if you get superstuck, Loved the soundtrack! Cheerz!

Plant's Conquest by Sam Estep 2018-08-14T19:43:10Z

What a weird kind of experience, it was a bit hard to get my head around when I got to the second screen, but after I experimented some with it I got to understand how to proceed! Got all the way through to the credit page, was worth the journey for sure, the music was a great way to use for feeling of progression (and dire panic) and the whole package was a treat! Great job!

Save the dudes by jjcp 2018-08-14T16:26:33Z

Was a bit hard to hit the mark on dropping and picking up, also didn't understand that I could drop of dudes at bigger icebergs, but I can see that this brings a good mechanic to the game and makes it shine as a puzzler! The game would have been a bit more amazing with some stock soundeffects! Great job never the less! Cheerz!

After the Future by Bichodust 2018-08-14T16:35:02Z

Great atmosphere, the graphics and music really plays well with one another, it was super hard to get into getting them letters in the right order, I work as a programmer, so I thought I would be great at it, but nope, I pretty much sucked! But a great experience never the less! Good job! Cheerz!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-06T09:35:44Z

@ragtagradical That's the best of comments to play, I think I got stuck in the early 90's when it comes to game graphics, I just can't get away from that nice SNES/Amiga palette that I learned to love!

Good to hear that you prefer this to math problems! :beers:

Death Wish by Derek Volker 2018-12-05T07:14:46Z

Solid overall feel here, and who doesn't love the death wish franchise, the big question here, is it Bronson or Willis?

The Noble Asparagas by anderskristo 2018-12-04T09:57:43Z

As Rolle, I'm also a superfan of bloom! This was a great treat to play, easy to start and get into, and hard to master (I have a tendency to miss my color, it's easy to get used to jumping them boxes, and after a while it happens automatically even though it's your color). Great job! :beers:

LD45 — Start with nothing

Attach-It by recursor 2019-10-10T20:42:20Z

A hard game to master for sure, but a very innovative entry! The music worked great with the overall mood, and I think you nailed the theme for sure! Great job!

Fakestroids by Rolle 2019-10-10T20:16:16Z

Master Blaster! You got the power of the funk tunes for sure! I was pretty bad at this one, but I will try it again and again and again until I reach a good score! Classic, hard and addictive! Now go rate some games you lazy lazy you ;)

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-08T06:27:31Z

@danielcmcg Ohh thanks! :)

@le-dav Thank you! That makes us happy to hear! Cheerz!

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-08T21:46:10Z

@nobongo Dude, that just made my day, I'm super glad that you enjoyed the pixels, and that you appreciated the boss battle, we've had the intention to make bosses in previous LD jams, but it has always fallen short due to there being no time, well, this time we actually put that up as a primary goal, so the boss got in quite early (and one of our coders worked on it pretty much all the way through). So now we can check that off the list. Many thanks for the kind words, and Neon Void was awesome! :metal:

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-09T21:21:53Z

@justuspan *Artists waving back* Thanks for the feedback! And I'm glad that you dig the pixels! We wanted to add more enemy types, but this time around we put most of our effort on getting a boss fight into the mix, and on that point we manage to pull it though (we've had boss ambitions in earlier jams, but it has always been taken out due to priority). Anyways! Thanks for testing the game and thanks for the feedback! Cheers!

@sbtn Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! And I agree, the weapon upgrades has a nice feeling to them! Cheerz!

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-10T19:42:35Z

@keppu Many thanks, I can agree that the music moves around a bit to much, I had minimum time to put on that part, clocking in most time in the graphics, would be better to go for a more chiptune friendly soundtrack, but time is always against you on these here jams ;) A Mute button would be good in that case for sure!

Good feedback on the weapons, I like the orange more as well, might have been better to have them in a green hue, but the orange looks a bit bad-ass as well!

We wanted more enemy types as well, but the boss fight was our biggest priority on this round, next time we might give the grunts some more love and care for sure!

Thanks for the great feedback! Cheers!

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-10T20:31:37Z

@kirroyal I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the music, and I agree, a bit more variety on the enemies would be gold, but alas, time is always against you on this one!

Maybe we can make a 1+ post-ld version where the game speeds up for a second run if you complete it! Thanks and cheerz!

Soulcraft by sawtan 2019-10-19T21:12:20Z

@dodelov Many thanks! With a bit more time I believe we would have made a whole lot of more enemy types for sure, dynamics is definitely needed in shmups! Thanx n cheerz!

@recursor Thanks, and yeah, we love them old shmups (though my favorites must be R-Type and Raptor, a bit later editions to the genre). Glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

@thepiratenun Ohh thanks! I'm super happy that you enjoyed our little game! The upgrades and boss was our main focus on this LD, so it's great to hear that it's appreciated. I do agree with you about the extra life thing, I have a confession to make as well, I haven't finished the boss fight either (I'm but a lowly gfx and music artist of the group), so it's a hard fight for sure!

@0x01f0 Yay! Thanx, we do get along quite nicely after a couple of game jams together! We all are looking forward to the next one where we'll put more focus on doing a game around the theme! Cheerz!

@phoenix-fireflower Thanx, as the projectiles are I do agree that it doesn't make much sense not to fire all the time, but I don't think I would enjoy auto-fire in my regular shmups to much, it's a bit more immersive to actually press a button to activate the shooting, but I do see your point! :) Cheerz!

@dob Ahh grand feedback sir, I wish we had time to make more enemies and power-ups as well, but alas, a jam is to short! Maybe we'll make a more fully fledged shmup in the future! Glad to have been able to move you back in time and cheerz!

Fireflies Will Find My Bones by 0x01F0 2019-10-10T20:09:03Z

Super sweet, loved the music and the mood of this one! Great job and Go Östersund!!! Cheerz!

All Hallow's Harvest by SethPaxton 2019-10-19T20:57:22Z

I enjoyed the music and graphics, it set a nice mood for the game and are perfect for a late in the year jam! The mechanics could have been added upon to give it a more thrilling experience, but as we all know, jams are short and it's hard to get everything in there in a few couple of days! Great job! Cheerz!

Bob the Brawler by itsdanidre 2019-10-19T20:47:02Z

Hehe, managed to read up on the objectives of the game after playing the game and it all made sense! I love the graphics of this one, and it's quite a nice feeling beating up baddies for sure! Great entry and great job! Cheerz!

The legend of Bit by CG_Fred 2019-10-10T20:28:07Z

I'm such a monster, and the game was sure to tell me so ;) Nice little piece, I would have liked to have the sword swivel around a bit better, stabby the skellys when they're on my right side turned out to be quite a suicidal endeavor  Cheerz!

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-08T21:41:54Z

Wow, what a great game, I seldom get immersed in LD entries on the level that I did on Neon Void, the atmosphere was excellent, the music worked great to set the right mood, and the graphics, although simple, worked very well with the overall theme. I managed to get to the end and finish the game, and having a start and end is also seldom seen in LD games, so lots of kudos for that! I might be of the opinion that the game was a wee bit easy to complete, but I do think this is a necessity for LD games, if you make them to hard it tends to make people loose interest to soon to really play it through (something that has be felled my crew on several occasions) so I won't keep that against you! Great job!

Absorb by dimlight 2019-10-10T18:06:33Z

Awesome jam entry, this one captured the theme splendidly and felt like a really thought out game from start to finish, the last boss was a bit to hard for me to finish, but I enjoyed the way you had to be tactical to take him down. Loved the different powers you gained from absorbing the insects, and to have 3 bosses in a jam game, that's a tall order that you managed to deliver on well! Great job and Cheerz!

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-19T20:31:29Z

A solid experience and a fun game! Love the innovative mechanics of the game, and the sparse palette really helps to set the mood, the music is superb and lifts the whole experience to the next level, as well as solid sfx! All in all a great entry to this LD! Great job! Cheerz!

Spooky: The one who lost everything by Susumu Asaga 2019-10-10T19:53:28Z

Wooow, this is a great entry, I love the little story tidbits you get from possessing the books, and the puzzle element to the game is great! I could really see this as a commercial little game for sure, with more levels and puzzles! Love the graphics and the music worked perfectly, setting a spooky but cute mood. The Soundeffects worked superb as well, a overall great entry! Cheers!

Yöso by da44neel 2019-10-10T19:38:20Z

This was a really qute and fun game for sure, I love the pixel graphics, and appreciate the work put into that part, the evolution of the different enemies are awesome and the whole game felt really complete. I enjoyed the mechanics of it as well and after a while I understood that at the start of a level it's best to let the enemies dish it out on each other to soften the level up some, and then come in with surgical strikes when there's less of them available. A all around great experience! Cheers!

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-10T17:45:15Z

At first I thought "This is pretty hard for being the first level" but when I finished it and realized it was the only level it was ok for it to be hard! A neat little game for sure! Cheerz!

You Broke the Game by OlegKlishin 2019-10-19T20:38:16Z

Feels like a really well made LD entry, the graphics is solid, the music is nice, the soundeffects are retro AF (which I quite enjoy). I'll probably come back later and try it out some more, but from my first play I really enjoyed the experience! Great job! Cheerz!

Asteroid Killer by Andreas Lindström 2019-10-10T20:14:10Z

Great first stab at making a LD game! I think we've all made a classic shooter (we did this time around as you might have seen) Hope you've had a great weekend making games and we'll see you on the next one in April I hope! Cheers!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Medic! by mrbandler 2020-04-21T17:14:42Z

As the first one said, I like the concept, but it was a bit buggy, I ended up killing myself as the bullets just wouldn't hit the last soldier, some polish on this one could make it a great experience though, great job! Cheerz!

Guardian of the Rite by sawtan 2020-04-21T17:23:53Z

@rens-jan Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to do a great summoning graphics thing, but time is as you say limited on these jams (and endurance for that matter) Glad you liked the setting!

@curleysam Thanx! Glad you enjoyed playing it!

@bgamedev Features would be nice for sure, we wanted to do ranged enemies, but time is a tricky bastard here ;)

@fakefrogsonly Thanks, yeah, the idea was simple, was a hard theme to get them imaginary juices flowing, so it came to being almost as a panic solution. :)

@doodlebrisk Great to hear! And no worries, you're welcome to try it out some more! ;) Anyway, thanks for taking the time to play it! Cheerz!

@krebzor Haha right!?!? Them pesky priests just causing problems! Thanks for all the love and we're happy to get such a nice comment! Cheerz!

@cjblobby Thanks, I guess the game failed to show you the crosshair? Should be there somewhere, Cheerz!

@mneubrand Ohhh, an auto-shotgun sounds absolutely delicious! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Cheerz!

Guardian of the Rite by sawtan 2020-04-21T21:07:12Z

@mantaraytv-games Thanks, glad you enjoyed the game and the pixels! :)

@hyperbabyduck Great to hear! Glad you enjoyed it!

@jefvel Nice shooting there mister! And we're overjoyed to hear that you gave it a double tap! Thanks for the kind words, and advice! Cheerz!

Vigtafl by bwalter 2020-04-21T17:03:57Z

This really came out great! I love the mechanics of the game and the graphics and sound is polished and nice! I can see this one getting a really good run for the #1! Great job! Cheerz!

Volty's Quest by Casey Macneil 2020-04-21T16:56:18Z

Lovely game, I like the mechanics of the thing and the feeling is super nice with sound and graphic matching up perfectly. I do thing I happened upon a bug, my charge went out during one of them moving sideways barges thingamajig, and when I went to the next screen the whole thing was blank. Would love a fullscreen mode as well, playing it on a 1440 screen makes it suuuuper puny, had to up the scaling on my browser to get a good go at it! Anyways, great entry! Cheerz!

Earth 2.0 by AryanJumani 2020-04-21T16:50:10Z

Engaging game play for being so simple, could use some brushup, I managed to get stuck in the left invisible wall, could be good to mark the edges out a bit (red fog or something) so that you see the limits of the game field. Anyways, good go and Cheerz!

Polish Python by rufson 2020-04-21T16:45:12Z

That was one sick game hehe, I love how you just keep munchin' them babies, the python scream really gets you into berzerker mode. A bit tricky to controll at times, but trippy as hell! Top score for humor there! Cheerz!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Minotaur's Labyrinth by JOrbits 2020-10-12T17:53:02Z

A most splendid game! I love the mere simplicity of the mechanics, as well as the graphics, was really one of them games you just couldn't stop playing until the end (The top bar really gave you the carrot you needed to push further into the loops). Really great way to execute the theme as well! Cheerz!

UnderLoop by FadrikAlexander 2020-10-18T09:20:20Z

This definitely is one game that will go to the top this LD! Really nailed the theme in a good way, graphics are great, music and sound is great and the all around mood is perfect! Really great job, wasn't able to figure out the key combo sadly, but had a good time playing! :)

GUNWYRM by Saturnyoshi 2020-10-13T21:21:49Z

Really polished and fine figure of a game! Great job! Cheerz!

Bhoot && Toobh by pune007 2020-10-14T14:49:17Z

Super interesting game, I really enjoyed playing this one! Great job and cheerz!

[while'd] by Celuloide 2020-10-18T12:41:56Z

Lovely game! Sure got the theme right, and also managed to get the feeling of having programming issues down pretty good :D Great entry and cheerz!

Looped by Leo Red 2020-10-13T21:29:47Z

Nice entry, I would like to be able to move diagonally though (using W and A at the same time to move northwest). Other than that it's a great entry! Cheerz!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep-fry Deeper by Ithildin 2021-04-28T20:29:21Z

Well I suck at making Churros for sure, I always failed at the fast filling, but the other parts I got pretty confident with :D A super cute game with magickal graphics! Great job! Cheerz!

Descending by khofez 2021-04-28T20:02:35Z

This game is absolutely stunning when it comes to the graphics, I feel that it could have become a super great game if it got a bit more time and love (don't we all have that problem at these events ey?).

I do think other people have pointed this out, the game mechanics could have needed some attention, being blocked by health potions because you are at full health is a bit of a bugger for instance :D And maybe the lightning effects are a bit to high on contrast, a lighter dark with some details always shining through might have fixed that perhaps?

And maybe a bit more linear level design, right now it feels like I can go pretty much anywhere to reach the bottom, and you end up dodging most of the enemies on the way down, without having any punishment for doing so.

Feels like I'm putting down a lot of criticism here, but it's only because I think this could become great if it gets a couple of days more on it's neck! So great entry all in all! Good job mate! Cheerz!

Run Miner Joe by Rolle 2021-04-25T21:26:10Z

Hehe, I like it, only reached level 5 now but I will give it a new go when it's rating time! Good to have you back mate! Hope you get to make more games from now on! :metal:

Run Miner Joe by Rolle 2021-04-28T20:12:51Z

Ahh, a hard and addictive game again, the Earthquakes sure makes me dizzy, and the panic of the world falling down on your face at the same time and all of a sudden you run upon a spike of lava, such a treat! :D Glad to see you're back in the game (no pun intended... or was it?) Hope you enjoyed the ride! :beers:

The Fall by sawtan 2021-04-26T19:22:38Z

@bloomaan Thanks a bunch! Glad you liked our little game, mouse controls would be nice for sure, but as always on these events, you have to sacrifice some options to get over the goal line! Cheerz!

@pixelportalz The source material sure gave us plenty of ideas to work with, so the game pretty much made itself! I would love to spend more time in Dante's Inferno :D Try hitting the blue guys from the side and he'll be a bit easier to kill off, and the blue guys also gives you a larger sword if it's not at full length! Cheerz!

@lehaine We sure know the feeling about the combat, we would love to have more time to implement more interesting enemies and combat mechanics, but the time-frame just puts one on the easiest path forward. But I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the experience, and made it all the way to the 9:th Circle as well! We applaud you for finishing the game and thanks for great feedback! Cheerz!

@jefvel Hey! Thanks for getting through all the levels, and yes, the mechanics could have been built upon for sure, I'd like to make that part a bit more interesting, but the time frame for the event is a bit restrictive. Maybe they should have one event that is for a whole week  When I play through I like to clear the enemies as fast as possible, but I have heard about other players going through it by dodging as well, it's a bit hard to really get a good balance that works for the general gamer, some think it's to hard and some to easy, so one need to home in on the sweet spot (the game was a heck of a lot harder on the first build ;) ). Thanks for playing in through and thanks for great feedback! Cheerz!

@n-c0de-r Thanks man! I'm super happy that you enjoyed it! Cheerz!

The Fall by sawtan 2021-04-26T21:02:11Z

@tamino-laub Thanx mate! Glad you enjoyed playing it! And we're happy to hear that you lost some time with our little game ;) Cheerz!

@wizard-sino Many thanks! Glad you liked it! Cheerz!

The Fall by sawtan 2021-04-28T20:08:54Z

@m01 Many thanks! :)

@thomas-bringer Thanks mate! Glad you liked it!

@pkenney Ahh, the classic cheap-shot to the face, I've gotten that one several times during the development process. You we're right on the precipice of reaching the throne there, Violence is the last playable circle actually, so if you would live through that one there's a nice surprise on the other side ;)

We're all very happy that you enjoyed playing our game! And many thanks for the nice words! Cheerz!

@rolle Hehe a cool gory death sure was on the top of our to-do list as you might imagine, but alas, we focused on wrapping it together with a nice ending animation and splash screen instead! Glad you enjoyed our little journey into the 9:th circle of Hell! :beers:

Just Down Jack by joewan 2021-04-28T19:30:55Z

A nice entry for sure, I liked the progression, and the powerup mechanics was a good spice to make it interesting. Cheerz!

Fishing Trouble by jefvel 2021-04-26T20:46:07Z

Hoho, this was a great treat! I got hooked pretty fast (no pun intended) and I just couldn't let go! I usually spend like 5 minutes max when I play jam games, but this one had me for over 30 minutes! I managed to pay back my debt in 25 days and upgraded everything to the max! Great feeling with the mixed mechanics, and I sure had to work my fingers to collect them eels as fast as possible! A great entry to the jam! Cheerz!

Hellfall by Tom Robson 2021-04-28T19:45:46Z

We've seems to have stumbled upon the same theme, Dante sure is the best source of inspiration for this here theme! Love the power'ups and the puzzle mechanics in some parts, at some part of the game I totally got punished for choosing the wrong shaft, but that's hell for ya! Love the different level transitions, and I can feel we've had a lot in common really! Great entry for the LD48! Cheerz!

Sweet Dreams by LeHaine 2021-04-26T20:08:46Z

Wow! This was a great experience to play though, I like the game mechanics even though they might be a bit to easy, but hey, it's a kid that needs to survive the night so it's ok! The boss fight was super nice, you got a good mood and feeling going on, and I like the progression of the environment. The graphics are super nice and cute, I always tell myself that I should go a bit more minimalistic with my graphics, but I never manage to keep it on a small scope  Maybe next time ey? Anyways, a great entry to LD48! Congrats for a job well done and Cheerz!

Goop's Adventure [unfinished] by n-c0de-r 2021-04-26T20:49:12Z

Ahh dang! Better luck next time then! A good tip is to just get a feel for the tech stack you want to work with a week in advanced so you don't stumble upon any tricky situations when the jam starts, it sucks being stuck with tech problems when all you want to do is make a game (and with the deadline and all it goes out of control pretty fast). Better luck at 49 mate! Cheerz!

Lord Of The Flies by PixelPortalz 2021-04-26T19:44:47Z

$1.000.000!!! I'm sooo happy! Wow! This was a great game, I love the progression and trying to figure out the best strategy to be able to reach the surface! A truly magnificent experience and journey. Great job! Cheerz

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Stir Cry by icxon 2022-04-06T16:55:18Z

Excellent take on the theme, the feeling of impending doom is ripe, and the anguish of your foes makes it a little bit more bearable, the favorite is always the shotgun when it comes to weapon choice, getting close and personal to deliver a buckshot of pain has a great feeling to it! Great submission to the jam!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

Shoal by Kerdelos 2022-04-06T19:26:56Z

Wow! No this was a treat to play, a nice laidback feeling all the way through, even when the game gets a bit stressful the slow music keeps you in balance, the whole experience felt nice and smooth, the graphics are crisp and you learn to play the game fast. And it plays well on the theme as well. Excellent job on this one!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

The Last Church by sawtan 2022-04-04T20:27:58Z

Let's start a Highscore list here in the comments if, I'll start with my Wave 7 score, not super good, but I'll be sure to get better at it when I can put my wacom to the side and enjoy the game

Stalling The Dictator by 0x01F0 2022-04-15T15:02:09Z

Quite a nice little game, the dictator got quite a funny personality, and the gameplay felt original and in the right scope for a jam! Great job this time around! Cheerz!

Virus Bash by joewan 2022-04-06T19:54:17Z

Ahh, such a fresh take on the top down shooter, was nice with the upgrade system to keep the gameplay interesting, and when you came to a certain stage the dash ability really came into full use! A great entry all in all! Good job!

Infection by kabloosh 2022-04-06T17:25:24Z

Simple and effective top-down shooter, and it's a bummer when you get so many ideas during the jam, in my experience it's good to do a idea run at the start and then try to execute on that even if it feels boring or weird after a day, the things you can adjust and tweak during the jam will make it fine in the end! Great that you got it up and hope you come back for more! Chainsaw Cheerz!

Grave Danger by Erk 2022-04-06T18:18:44Z

An hark to the classics, they say Heretic and Hexen, I say Blood which is a great classic favorite of mine! A bit hard to use the aim, but it's a great base for sure! A good fun all in all! Cheerz!

The Flower of Marasca by F1Krazy 2022-04-06T17:58:02Z

An excellent little game, really lovely simple graphics, and the different powers gives the game a nice feeling of progression! All in all an amazing compo submission! Great work!

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-06T17:13:24Z

Now this was absolutely a blast! I do think it's one of the most innovative games I've ever encountered on LD thus far, and a treat to explore. Also, the painting worked great with my Wacom (I do lack the skills for great execution though). And it was interesting to see what madness the general public can come up with in such a free space of creativity (didn't encounter anything super wild). Amazing addition to the Jam!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

The Last Savior by JustusPan 2022-04-06T19:38:45Z

Now this was quite excellent! Great fun to play through and excellent game mechanic with the different stances! Good variation on the enemies and easy to pick up gameplay! An all in all excellent entry! Great job!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

They Are Coming by PeaNud 2022-04-06T18:28:49Z

Great FPS submission to the jam, the mood is quite excellent, feels a bit dystopic all an all with a soundtrack and art style that makes me think back on the classic adventure games such as Another World and Beneath a Steel Sky. As mentioned earlier the mouse sensitivity was a bit high, not on the x axis but on the y axis (and as the old fart that I am I actually play my FPS's with inverted Y which made it a bit hard, I won't blame you for this though as I know I'm a bit odd with that one!) So a solid game with a great atmosphere!

Chainsaw Cheerz

If you try hard enough, you can win. by Rxbbie 2022-04-06T19:43:10Z

Hehe yeah, a spooky looty little game indeed! Quite fun when it gets absolutely crazy with the loot and enemies! I enjoyed the simple little soundtrack as well, a sweet little entry! Great job!

Unfaithable by Furano 2022-04-06T19:01:05Z

The art style was adorable, and the wonky feeling made it a sweet nugget of a game. The game camera was a bit wonky at times though, and I got stuck in a way that I really didn't see much of the action (centering it on the player would have been great). The waves of enemies also suddenly exploded after a short while and your inevitable doom was sure to come soon, which ofc plays into the theme :D Wouldn't mind playing it a bit longer though ;) All in all a great entry!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-06T18:52:51Z

Ahh, an excellent packaged little treat, I don't mind LD entries being a bit short, it's all about getting a mood through the graphics and sounds, as well as keeping it interesting on an interactive level, for this I think the game is a great success! Even had an emotional impact at the end with the cute little fellah powering down, he did a good job and collected all the artifacts though, so mission well executed! An excellent entry!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

Rifthoppers by Kimberly 2022-04-06T19:17:11Z

Wow, such a sweet ride! I must say the music is quite excellent! It gives the perfect beat to the killing of eldritch spawns from beyond the rift! Great feel to the gameplay, and the upgrade system gives it that extra pinch of seasoning that makes you want to get further! Absolutely great entry!

Chainsaw Cheerz!

1 Man 6 Bullets by Raphaeltan 2022-04-06T18:12:33Z

Ohh man, this was such a treat! I love the mechanics of bullet time and it feels great to be on a roll with bullets flying everywhere ready for grabs and zombies just falling into heaps of dead flesh! Excellent Submission to the LD! And a great job good sir! Chainsaw Cheerz!

The Inevitable Dominion by Kupnu4 2022-04-06T19:08:48Z

Ahh, that's a nifty take on the tower defense genre for sure, the gameplay is a bit simple, but also easy to understand, the art style is cute and the music and sounds play into the production to make it feel finished. A good entry all in all! Cheerz!

I love the twist on the good ol' story, the game was a treat for the eyes, and sure made me expel a few giggles on the way, the difficulty of the game is a bit on the low side as I've seen in the comments as well, but I treat it more as a fun interactive play on one of our most beloved characters and trope! Great job all in all, polished and sweet!
