Oh man I enjoyed this! Great look and feel, humor and that music was fantastic! Great job on this!
Solid game but I think it would have been nice to have the controls spread out a bit so 2 hands could be used, or use the mouse for aiming. Current controls made it pretty clunky to play.
This was fun! My only complaint is that some of the sound effects were very loud, a slider for that would be appreciated!
I like graphics, but I felt it a little bit difficult! :) Also, agreed with @flankstaek on the controls: two hands is a plus.
Yo, thanks for all the feedback! Just in response to the controls issue, you can actually use LMB to attack in single player but it gets disabled in 2 player. I left it out of documentation for clarity but it's back in now.
I liked this game! Two of the things I would like to be added tho would be the possibility to shoot to a different direction than the one you're facing and to show the guys behind all the ketchup you've stacked, I had like 3 guys shooting at me from there. Other than that: loved the visuals, the gameplay felt pretty good (though it's a little bit too easy to slip off the roof [specially with the dog, roof roof!]), the ability to buy stuff added more to the game and the theme was pretty funny. I would like to try it with another player but unfortunately I cannot right now. I'm sure I'll try it when I can though!
Amazing entry you have here. It looks great and very feature rich! The controls need improvement though. But other than that, great job! We used mouse aim for our game and I think something like that will work great for your game too. Excellent work!
@iojioji Thanks so much! Totally agree with you about the stack, unfortunately it was one of many little things that I ran out of time to improve on... Same with the shooting, it was pretty much lifted from the enemy AI script at the last minute >.< thanks again :D
so cute i like the way it controls aiming is a bit odd but still fun!
Very fun and engaging, tried each of the characters, Ninja definitely feels weaker with the aiming of shooting. Dog was really entertaining, trying to push shooter-guys towards turrets. Was very good indeed. I have to agree about the stack, maybe an outline shader would help without sacrificing the grandness of the tower. I think 80 ketchup was my highest with Lionhardt. Should have a sense of pride and acomplishment in it :yum:
Definitely seems as if a lot of care went into developing this game! I enjoyed it, and as a guy who is always running out of ketchup, I sympathize with this game on a deep level.
This it by far my favorite game to come out of this.
It is an incredibly complete game, you found time to put your graphics, your gameplay, multiple characters, bonus items (the shop), and even bosses! Great work, great game.
Great work! Is a very good and complete game. I am impressed that you had time to make a store and a few characters
Everything about this was on point. My only nitpick was - I would have liked to be able to shoot in all directions regardless of movement vector, other than that the gameplay felt great. Superb jam entry!
I love it, great game! The graphics are really cool and the music gives a great mood. Also, the shopping music! It was actually fun to play and i like how much content there is. If the ninja could throw into all directions, it would be a bit OP i guess, but that was initially a surprise to me. Ronald is a very difficult enemy - in my first try he kicked me to the other building, which i did not discover before, and then he must have fallen down because he was gone. In melee he is difficult - when playing Lionheart he pushed me 2 times gently enough so i could stay on the roof, the third time i was shot to the moon. Overall, fantastic game, top notch :)
Hehe this was a great laugh, so high on the humor point, it was a bit hard to steer when using the mouse for shooting, I always thought I would shoot at the same angle as I had my mouse pointer, but after a while I understood that it was the way the character was heading that was the right angle. I think the game would have been easier and a bit more fun if you were able to shoot backwards while running, or else it was a bit hard to get the shots right. But overall a great game! Really enjoyed fetching them ketchup bottles, and I managed to drop Ronald down the building before he could do too much damage! :D
Awesome game, love the concept and the art work :)
Great game, loved the art. Perfect mix of 2D and 3D and fun gameplay to boot.
Casual mechanics, very well implemented. I loved the transition between the arena and the store! Congratulations, the game has potential, especially with the addition of more visual feedbacks.
Mecânica casual, muito bem implementada. Adorei a transição entre a arena e a loja! Parabéns, o jogo tem potêncial, principalmente com a adição de mais feedbacks visuais. :flag_br:
Awesome stuff, really enjoyed it! The humor totally sells it and the graphics are very well done, love the pixelart/3D mix!
The difficulty progression & quantity of enemies feels good. The attacks seem too basic, though it's nice that there are multiple characters. I enjoyed growing my ketchup mountain. Good job. Screen Shot 2017-12-09 at 8.07.15 PM.png
When I read that one of your features was "2 whole platforms to walk on!" I was immediately sold! And this game did not disappoint. It was an enjoyable experience. I especially loved the "Sense of Accomplishment" boss. I never actually knew how many coins I had, so that's my only complaint, and take it with a dash of mustard. This is by far my number one favorite ketchup game all competition!

P.S. I found out the coin issue was because it was being cut off playing it in the browser.
This was a really fun game, I played it with @vasco-rodrigues and we had such a blast. I was the dog. Was kinda disappointed that the barking didn't really do anything so I was a useless character. Maybe sending enemies away or something, like supersonic barks. This way was just fun the first few seconds and then I just had be rescued all the time without being able to help in collecting ketchup bottles. The ninja was really cool.
I really liked the view of the game, the mix was really cool. We also started pushing boxes off the building.
Great work :)
Wish the attack button was different or I could remap it. 9/10 would bark again
Congratulations on your first jam. https://youtu.be/smSq-fFdIXA
Great game, it has a lot of fun and it has a lot of potential. Gonna ketchup them all! Keep it up, one of my favorites so far :D
One of my favourite Ludum Dare games! Humour is great! I really feel sense of pride and accomplishment.
Super fun, looks good, and even sounds good! Good job! Oh, and multiplayer too! :O My main frustration was things being occluded by my phat stack of ketchup bottles later in the game, but not a huge deal.
Our team does a weekly indie gamedev podcast called Nice Games Club, and we just did a Let's Play episode where we played thirty-six (!!) Ludum Dare 40 games, including yours (which we were bad at but loved anyway)!
