This feels very well made. A fun and creative little game. You did a real good job on this.
Very well polished. Nice job. The particle effects are great, the screen shake might be a bit much. Also the intro/instructions flashing hurt my brain.
Very fun and stylish game, I don't really see the theme in it though, I might just be missing it though.
Superb. I love the tiny little player sprite, and the general look and feel. Nice lava and particles. And, most importantly, it's a fun game. Like Super Meat Boy it tends toward the brutally difficult, but I think that works for it. Superb job.
Very well done game. Goes to show that detailed art isn't everything.
Awesome game, really like the simple but clear graphics, it's a pretty hard game to get into, would be awesome to see gamepad support on this one as it would feel a bit more immersive to run around and fetch the "powerups". Other than that the game feels really solid from start to end! Always nice to see a game that feels so complete! Great work!
It's a very fun game, very easy to pick up and play. I loved the in-game music, the title and reset music not so much. I found that the edge-warping was more frustrating than anything, though it was helpful in some cases. And I agree with Ham and Swiss above, good particle effects but too much screen shake.
haha I love that little sprite :D The dashing feels good, and the game is fun overall. Visuals are great, and the sound effects and music are spot on.
Well done - really liked this game - particularly the in-game music. I'm always a fan of simple graphics/gameplay and you made it fun. (Though I'm guessing that's more a consequence of the pico-8 target!)
The gameplay is very polished, I found it fun and challenging. The best end game strategy seems to be throwing yourself into the lava after grabbing as many presents as you can as red presents exploding over the lava can quickly eliminate all your progress.
Really well polished and nicely executed.
Every tiny detail such as death sound, getting present sound etc makes such a difference.
Loved it.
Felt really great. I struggled a bit with the jumps at first, but once I got the swing of them, I struggled to put the game down. The really great learning curve help a lot with that: I kept doing better each time and wanted to see how well I could do.
Fun little game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0hdEq4T8dE
This is such a fun game! The gameplay is simple, intuitive and really enjoyable — I could easily spend a lot of time trying to beat my high score. Both the graphics and the music are wonderful, and I think that it really nails the whole 'retro' feel. Great job!
