Hard but fun :)

torfi 2017-12-04 23:52

A lonely starship sometimes seeks company in asteroid friends but too many and you won't get anywhere. 5 stars.

talisra22 2017-12-04 23:54

Nice idea! but it was too hard for me

matthew-di-mare-miller 2017-12-05 00:06

I thought the music and visual assets were nice but the game was too difficult due to too many obstacles and the ship being too large/tough to maneuver.

neandertal 2017-12-05 00:12

@torfi Thanks a lot, your feedback is very appreciated !

@talisra & @matthew-di-mare-miller It needs a bit of practice, but don't give up :)

leandre-renouard 2017-12-05 00:15

Loved the graphics and the space ambiance is great! A little bit difficult for me but still a very good game. Good jobs guys!

sgadrat 2017-12-05 18:52

It was hard but I loved the concept of goldish asteroid, they increase your score but make you lose... I want them all! Gold gold gold!

gerardb 2017-12-05 19:03

I love the style and the idea of the game! And it has quite a lot of polish for being a jam game :) The spaceShip felt a bit too floaty for me though but I really enjoyed the game anyways, congrats and good entry!

sir-magic 2017-12-05 19:06

Very neat concept and executed very well. I liked the idea of the golden asteroid as it had an interesting spin on the game. The voxel style seemed to work very well for this type of game.

To Improve:

There didn't seem to be a way to get rid of the debris. I also didn't like the gauge because it was rather instant and I didn't get the feeling of the ship gradually getting worse. Perhaps a more interesting approach to it would be to make the spaceship slower with more asteroids and have certain types of debris that can kill the player, meaning that the more debris, the slower the player, the easier it is to die.

joel-rochon 2017-12-05 19:07

This is one of the best looking games I've seen so far. Great work!

niborious 2017-12-05 19:10

I really liked the graphics and the ring spin effect to get the debris off

The acceleration/deceleration on the ship made it a little to difficult to navigate through the spaces. The price of the second ship seemed way too high given how slowly you can get gold.

Nice game!

Best game I played so far :).. really polished feel. Add some story and additional features and I come playing again.

happy4488 2017-12-05 19:10

@Sir-Magic : Thank you so much for your feedback ! We wondered if we should make the ship slower as he gets more debris stuck, but we were afraid that it would make the game even more difficult than it was already so we chose not to as we were running short on time. I agree that some mechanic would be nice there. :p

@GerardB, @sgdrat & @Leandre Renouard : Thank you guys !

synthphonia 2017-12-05 19:10

Really cool game, sounds are loud a bit, and this game is hard as hell :)

thesoreon 2017-12-05 19:16

I have to say just "WoW" game looks amazing and i very like the gameplay, it's pretty hard at first, but it's very fun to play it! Nice job guys

nick-rafalski 2017-12-05 19:18

Great game!

Really good interpretation of the theme. Lots of polish and adorable art/sound. The ship upgrades are really cool and surprising for LD game.

I agree that it is too hard though.

marine-furlan 2017-12-05 19:19

The idea of kipping debries on the spaceship if we hit them is really cool and smart ! But wow its hella hard aha, so much asteroids ! Good job guys, I like it +++for the idea again

blakemcdeezy 2017-12-05 19:28

Fun game guys! I really liked the concept, the art style, and when things stuck to the spaceship it made me laugh, haha. For me, I found that you are launched into extreme difficulty, with everything all at once! I think it could have maybe been improved if it started off easier, then gradually, more and/or different types of debris got introduced

sawtan 2017-12-05 21:21

Great take on the theme, the game was almost a bit to hard from the get-go, would love to soften up a bit before I got all the rocks attached to me, managed to get some coins and jump some hoops, but in the end I failed critically, had a second go and it went even worse hehe, great lil' experience though, and a nice score for getting it to feel so complete! Great work! Cheerz!

gris 2017-12-06 10:24

Really good graphics and take on the theme. Love the music too. I would've liked it to start easier since it was a bit too hard for me. Congrats!

jordan-neff 2017-12-06 16:50

I like the concept and execution, but I wish the difficulty would ramp up a bit more slowly. Things get out of control a little too fast for my tastes and I'd really like to be able to dodge debris and aim for rings for more than a few seconds before the entire screen is filled with debris! Even still, well done! :)

harusame 2017-12-06 17:18

Cool game with a great mood ^^ I enjoy graphics, sounds and music.

A bit hard for me, maybe less asteroids during the first minute could be better.

I've just reached 184 pts. (I played 6-7 times)

secretpocketcat 2017-12-10 16:01

Looks very polished. I'd have preferred if there were less asteroids, but they moved faster and if the start was a bit easier. (My best try was around 480, which I assume is not very good). Also, the second ship seems too expensive, at least for a jam version. (If you decide to go for a full release, than the 2K might be alright).

tinis-games 2017-12-12 11:36

Wow! It's really very hard! I really like reverse "power up" mechanisms :)

gaming-night 2017-12-12 15:59

Super hard, but fun to play ! I liked the graphics, and the originality of gameplay regarding a classical shoot them up. I also felt a good sense of balance in the gameplay, as sometimes, even when I wanted to focus on avoiding the asteroids, I couldn't help myself but collect the coins, putting myself in danger. Well done! However, I'm not completely sure you respected the theme. I understand that the more you have asteroids, the harder it gets. But in your game, since the beginning, I felt completely surrounded by obstacles. I don't have any sense of gradation in worsenity. I guess an initial phase with less asteroids would have done the trick :)
