Just one of my favorite games of this Jam. I love graphic rendering and gameplay mechanisms. An excellent puzzle game!

Just one of my favorite games of this Jam. I love graphic rendering and gameplay mechanisms. An excellent puzzle game!
I love drawing and general graphic rendering! Maybe too easy to win? I didn't need to use powers in my game. But I had a lot of fun and the work really impresses me (only 72 hours to do everything, don't forget!) :)
I love the connection with the theme! That's an excellent find! It's not easy for me to master, but it's one of the most original games in the concept I've played for the moment.
The idea is excellent. I love how everyone drives any old how :p I got the 7 gifts too, but nothing said if I won or not.
For the "Compo" entry while the music was made by someone else, it's an real interesting question. Is it enough to not being able to vote for the Music category ? I think the only people who can answer that question are the organizers themselves.
Inception ? Love the idea and graphics. The screen is probably too big, I need to scroll to see the parameters.
I really like the selection of levels, it's original! I confess that sound would have been a more appreciable one. However, I don't think it was necessary to have so many levels, and to give preference to other aspects (sound, power-up,...)
I like 8-bit rendering with Pico. And for a Compo, I think it looks good. Compared to other comments, I don't necessarily find the controls complicated, but I feel more like it's a collision problem. Sometimes I only have 2-3 pixels of a triangle tip sticking out and I fall.
Like @wibblymat, I pressed "Enter" thinking that I had to press it when the screen says "Enter key for interaction" :p
Nice game!
Good job ! Hard to play for me, but it' fun :) Maybe you should make a html version to facilitate access to your game ?
As already said, I like the idea but I don't think it is really related to the theme. Right now, the more bees, the better. I'll be curious to see your game with the evolutions you wanted to add :)
I think you might be interested in this other game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/home-raider
The game is very nice! I love the atmosphere too. I was a little sad about the script, but fortunately not stealing anything makes the girl marry her anyway. So romantic! :)
Interesting concept. Nice work on sound and drawing ! :)
I don't know what to say that hasn't been said. I'm impressed. 48 hours to make this game, that's crazy! The idea, the graphics, the atmosphere, I can't find anything to blame him :) Well, I confess that I also spent a lot of time after the end watching cars crash :p That's where I saw that the smallest details had been thought out, with the lampposts crumbling.
Interesting. Too bad that the explanations of the keys are too high, you can hardly see them. However, I'm not sure I understand the connection with the theme. It's pretty good that there are lots of clones, right?
I really like the idea. Maybe we need new costumes more we advance in the levels? Anyway, I like having a mini tutorial, it's a nice touch :)
Very good idea, original and funny! The difficulty is quite strong, but it's challenging. Perhaps it would have been interesting to set a minimum threshold to be reached per level?
Good job ! I love graphics in introduction. Just, it's hard to know where you can move without falling down.
Nice idea, but the hitboxes are very weird. Sometimes I get touched by a guy after he's gone :/ I love music that slows down more we drink, it's a detail that pleases us: p
Too hard for me, but... You know... WOW ! :P
Very original! I really like dialogues! I think it would have been useful to be able to click directly on the object, rather than drag-and-drop it, or to have the "drop zone" closer to the seller. And I will have seen also objects like "Blue Fire Sword Killer of Dragons Of The Night +7" or other double-barreled name :p
That's a great idea! I must confess that I didn't find the controls very intuitive at first, many of them are not useful, since you can move an object without putting it back in its box.
I got fooled thinking that the map was wrapped around :p Simple and fun game!
I am impressed with the work done in such a short time :O The fusion of mushrooms is an excellent idea. A few collision problems and sometimes problems with the controls to report.
A very good management game! The graphic rendering is awesome. Really impressed by the work in 72 hours. I did not manage to exceed 8 days for my part :p
A shoot' em up! Cool! Very original idea given the theme. I reached Eggman but some of the boss's phases are getting mixed up and are too complicated for me. You should make an html version so that people can play it more easily.
Cool game! The tutorial is very useful to know what metal is for. I would have seen a little reminder in game, included in the interface.
Wow! Impressive! This is the first NES-style game I see for this Ludum Dare, and what a game! Nice, well thought out, an excellent tribute to the console! I love details like transitions between levels. Anyway, nice work!
Very good job on audio and pixel art ! I love humor too but... I don't have the feeling of playing, more the impression of looking and seeing what it does.
Very good arcade game! The points system is very well thought out, which forces you to take risks in order to get as many points as possible. I like it !
Nice. Why not put the same system of pop-up menu to recover water and food, simply by clicking? Maybe add a timer that serves as a score?
Nice game, the basic idea is interesting. For level design, I find houses properly arranged, expensive objects that can be stolen are not easily accessible. The problem for me is that the objects reappear from the level, it is useless to risk the blow to go very far. Perhaps it is necessary to have several entrances (doors, windows) which would be blocked at each passage in the house?
60 for me ! I like the progression precisely, even if the game for me becomes interesting from 3 knives ^^. I play on a AZERTY keyboard, I don't know if it helps or not :p
Links doesn't work :(
The sound is excellent, but as I'm not English-speaking, I confess that I don't always understand everything. Some subtitles would be welcome (or even for those who play without sound). The atmosphere is interesting, I also think (no spoiler) to have understood the link with the theme.
I really like the idea for the theme, and the messages that say where we stand :) As for the real Tetris, I would have liked to see the next piece, but on the other hand, we don't know what the future is like in a Jam :p
The game is really nice. Chicken graphics and animations are cute :)
It's very hard to take care of this little invaders! I would have seen the possibility of setting up feeders, for example, to feed several chickens at once.
Oh cette face ! :p J'adore ! Beaucoup d'humour ! Chapeau !
Oh! This pixel art! I really love it! Visually, this is one of the games I tested that I prefer :) An excellent game on all points!
That's an interesting idea for the theme. I didn't understand how blisters came in, though.
Nice one! Maybe too easy to win? It's a shame that the keys disappear, I had to reload my game because I couldn't find the button to buy land.
I played the HTML5 version too, and like the others I think it's pretty buggy :( The idea is nice and funny.
Simple and effective! Finally,"simple"... In 48 hours alone, I think it's really great job!
The mechanisms are very original for this type of game, I love it! And design! I love it too! I didn't realize that you only had to pass a column to kill a target, I thought at first that you had to fill them all.
Nice game! I love messages from friends who are displayed :) A little trouble to understand collisions sometimes, but nothing that removes the fun :)
It is very rare for me to say that ads have saved my life :p
A little kindness in a cruel world :)
Maybe too ambitious in 48 hours? I've already had trouble finishing my political game in 72 hours :p Joking aside, it's great work! I'm curious to test your game with all the features you wanted to implement to see ;)
Cute game! I really like the zoom effect to see where the cracks are before repairing them.
To @dokalfar, @vfabien21, @rongo-matane
Thanks for comments and bug report, I'll try to change it soon. I don't know if I have the right to correct after submission.
For the market, my first idea was to be able to exchange "everything for everything", with different rates depending on the resources of the countries and their speciality. But that meant developing some form of A.I., and unfortunately I didn't have time. As I would say in the feedback that I write, I developed the game alone, when we should have been 2 coders. I had to simplify by fixing only one speciality per country (food, research, gold). I think I will work on this aspect in a future version :)
To @jackson1, @kromeboy, @schu :
Thank you for your comments! Yes, I had several feedbacks regarding the overload of information. A little tutorial could have been useful, because many aspects of the rules can be unclear. Afterwards, I also don't want everything to be explained and let the player guess the logic behind it. I find it more rewarding, but it is true that it is difficult to balance between course/learning and some information could be clearer, like "+" or "-" next to the parameters to know how they will evolve in the next round.
Spoiler on arable land, industry and home renovation: as the number of citizens increases, the more housing land is needed, and therefore inevitably the number of arable land decreases accordingly. Where else can humans build housing? The funding of "home renovation" makes it possible to slightly reduce the number of "housing land" needed per inhabitant (the old abandoned houses are basically habitable again). Industries earn gold, but each industry is built on land that could have fed the citizens.
To @kothead : Thank you ! This is exactly the idea at the grassroots, a forced mutual cooperation to finally be able to move forward !
To @gozz : Thank you ! As I said above, some information could be clearer, like "+" or "-" next to the parameters to know how they will evolve in the next round. I had tried Ludum Dare 34 in Compo, but unfortunately I had to give up for family reasons. I trained on the remnants of the project before this session, I'll try to finish this game too ;)
Thank you for your feedback ! I'm working on a new version, to insert several ideas that you suggested to me or that I didn't have the time to do in the deadlines :
- Add a tutorial, which explains little by little, without revealing too much about the game mechanisms either, - Review the market system, so as to be able to exchange all possible resources, and so that the market offers changes every turn, - Improve graphics, by displaying lands, adding icons and reviewing the user interface, - Display, once a policy has been conducted, the gains and losses that it brings via "up" and "down" indicators, and see overall changes (a bit like in the game "Reigns") - Add "hearsay" that I didn't have time to do in the first version (for example: "fishermen are having more and more trouble finding fish lately" or "it seems that the Richiztan made a food shortage, the tension is rising at home") that allows to give indications without revealing too much, - Add sounds and background music, - Add a menu and an end, with a "restart" button.
To answer some questions that I have not answered yet, there is no chance in the game, everything is proportional to other parameters. The game is made for wide screens (1400 * 800 px) and I don't think I'm doing responsive design.
Very nice game. I didn't find it really useful to change the side of the racket though. I confess that I also searched for the mute button :p
As I was told for my game, a tutorial would be useful ;)
I see that the inspiration led us to the same ideas ^^ I had also spotted Kenney's "Hexagon pack (310x)" for my game but didn't have time to insert them, maybe in a future version?
Simple and effective gameplay. Perhaps a lack of challenge? Very good work in 72h alone!
I'm not a fan of scary games, but I admit that the atmosphere is really good! A very nice first game!
**Warning** : you must rename "Lord_Of_Coin_Ld40_Fix_Data" directory to "Lord_Of_Coin_Ld40_New_Data", otherwise the game does not work.
The game is nice. The enemies are really hard to kill, a system of improving the effectiveness of the weapon against coins could be nice. It would force the player to compromise between the score and continue ;)
Wow! It's really very hard! I really like reverse "power up" mechanisms :)
I love the use of counsellors! It is necessary to learn by playing several times, which is a plus for me. Good work!
Very beautiful rendering! In 72 hours, it's tough work! ! I really like the connection with the theme which makes it necessary to manage its return trips.
Wow! The drawing, the animation, this work!
40 jumps for me :)
The idea of controlling all bandits at the same time is interesting :) Maybe you should add an ending? (timer, limited number of bandits,...)
