The mecanism is great and would fit well within a bigger game. I also really love the 2D zelda like graphics. The regular music is OK, but somehow it broke a bit the mood for me. The increasing difficulty is nice (Hey, by the way : the girl really loves Robert the robber, as even if you escape with 0 cash, she will marry you ;) )

I love the graphics!!! Like alot, I would definitely do a HTML & Mobile port if possible

harusame 2017-12-05 15:37

Thanks for the comments. We will probably do some portages in few days.

@vfabien21, I'm happy someone notice that she says yes if you escape with 0 cash ^^

talia 2017-12-05 15:39

haha I tried it many times. I really like the graphics and the animation and of course the music! awesome!

daragonis 2017-12-05 16:37

A game with a great concept and very fun. I also like the graphics a lot, and I really appreciated the fact that the city's security is increasing as we commit robberies around the village. Is there really a score from which she ends up saying yes ? Or the only way to get Robert married is to be honest and not steal?

vfabien21 2017-12-05 17:38

@harusame : oh, I hadn't noticed that she says no if you have stolen something. That's great ! I have added some more points to "theme" for that. (and my apologies for initial double post...)

antoined73 2017-12-05 19:16

This is the best game i played on this session :O Great pace, difficulty level, anought safe places and i really like how we decide to end the level. "Maybe i can steal 1 or 2 houses more before leaving? :p" The leaderboard idea is great ! Honestly i think it's perfect, but maybe a little less PNJ spawnning when we finish a rob ?

plepletier 2017-12-05 19:59

Great job!!! I really love this game and the idea of be a thief and conquer the love of your life! wow!!! \o/ congratulations.

kariamoss 2017-12-05 20:28

Really great game ! I'm too greedy and every time I end up catch haha

rature 2017-12-06 10:31

Awesome !! I love it. Easy to play and very well balanced.

al19890604 2017-12-06 12:55

I love the music and the scene when the girl said "NO" hahahaha that's funny. Also, the art are cute too. Nice game!

linky439 2017-12-06 15:03

Simple and super effective idea! The graphics are nice, the music is awesome, the game is really addictive. It is hard to restrain yourself from stealing one more house and then getting caught by guards...

Really really great game, and the leaderboard adds a nice touch. Congrats!

2017-12-06 15:20

oh congratulation! Nice art! Can I follow it also on indiexpo? Do you have also a page there? This looks great! I looked for the games that used the #LDJAM but I don't find yours. So good luck!! I will hope to make a video about it!

harusame 2017-12-06 15:47

Cool game, nice art and music! Very fun to play! Good job!

fluidvolt 2017-12-06 18:20

Cool idea! Loved dashing around and breaking into houses. Love the old-school rpg graphics. The music is well made, though the main theme seemed a bit too bombastic for stealing music? Maybe just me. The chase music fits well. Great work on this!

reality-blind 2017-12-06 19:57

Nice game and nice graphics, well done !

andreas-ragen-ayal 2017-12-06 21:13

The music is pretty cool. I like how it transitions to let you know when you're not being chased anymore.

I also like that the moral of the game is NOT to steal. Bonus points for that.

diffty 2017-12-07 18:41

Clean graphics, slick stealth gameplay ! Plus it totally fits in the theme, it really gets more and more difficult to hide and act safely as citizen come out of their home, but not in an abusive way. A real pleasure to play! Well done :)

Fun to play, with good graphics. I would have liked to be able to choose on which side of a barrel/haystack I get out, I lost all of my games because they stacked up on the top of it and instant grab me. Also as it's a stealth game, the AI pattern could be improved as they basically walk in a random direction and bump into walls. Anyway I liked the idea of robbing houses to buy a ring (although i'm always too greedy to ever escape).

2017-12-08 20:51

Smooth graphics, good and responsive gameplay and fun idea. AI felt a bit lacklustre but overall, pretty good!

zenmumbler 2017-12-09 16:00

Good look and feel, nice music and setup. The NPCs are a bit too unpredictable to really use a strategy in the game. Sometimes I would rob a house right next to a guard and nothing would happend and sometimes a guard just decided I was evil while I was walking around. Great entry.

jaimuepe 2017-12-09 19:58

Very cute game. she said no the first time :( the second time i played i didn't steal a single house and she said yes, even without ring, which was very wholesome. Good job!

That was a very quirk, funny and interesting take on stealth... robbing! I really liked the experience you guys set up here, from the original gameplay to the cute graphics and fitting audio. The gameplay was very easy to understand, the controls working with a controller were also a much welcome addition! The networked scores were also a very nice touch too, and I personally got the 6th place at the time of writing this. :moneybag:

Although, despite the very simple gameplay and controls, the one mechanic that left me a bit head-scratching was how the hiding worked. At first I thought it could have been a small music issue because I wasn't being followed by anyone and the high-beat music still continued, but later as I played more and more I found myself start being chased by dogs and guards almost in the opposite side of the street and getting caught in the process.

This adds up with the guards and random movement patterns. They definitely spiced things up and made it a rough-like experience, but while attempting to escape sometimes, I would find myself stuck between a wall and a guard, or bump into a dog I didn't expect to see in that specific zone. I feel some level design changes could have made these issues much less recurrent. But again, regardless of this harsher feedback I really liked the game here!

Although that's one very needy girlfriend though if I must say so myself, at least based on the first ring I gave her. [In behalf of our team](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames), thank you for this great robbing experience, and we expect to see more from you in the future (although I see you already have quite the _Ludum Dare_ experience!) :whale: Remember kids, get someone that loves you by who you are and not by the ring you get them! :ring:

Loved this game, really smooth and fun gameplay! Nicely done, only downside is probably AI, everyone moving completely random can be a bit boring, some pre-defined patterns chosen at random would have been better probably

Fantastic job nonetheless, keep it up!

The game is very nice! I love the atmosphere too. I was a little sad about the script, but fortunately not stealing anything makes the girl marry her anyway. So romantic! :)

linus 2017-12-22 15:26

Fun game with interesting mechanics. The controls were simple and it was easy to remember. Some games have really complex controls making it very hard to play the game.

The graphics were nice and the in-game tutorial is a good addition as it was very clear what to do. The NPCs were not very smart but worked nevertheless but if you had more time, this would be something that could have been improved.

Nice addition with the scoreboard too. Good job!
