Awwww was really hoping there'd be some upgrades to spend all that train cash on. Interesting start on an incremental game, could do a lot more than other games since it's got physics to it.

Good job on pulling it through! I actually felt like the bandits were controlling themselves most of the time heh. Maybe add a bit more control :)

Fun theme, I felt like the audio all went together well. It seems like this gets a decent amount of gameplay out of two buttons, I had to keep deciding which direction would keep more guys on the train (even though they were hard to control haha!). I wasn't sure how to deal with the guy with the gun.

Hi there, Liked the game especially for its gameplay. Would have loved to have an online score and some lives for comparison. Plewase play and rate our game aswell: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/nanonator

wow nice game

amigopadilha 2017-12-05 16:57

Nice game! I felt like it needed some more controll, but it was fun to play! The most I got on the train was 4 bandits =) Great job!

vottivott 2017-12-05 17:14

Cool gameplay concept of controlling multiple characters with the same controls!

shimmen 2017-12-05 19:35

Simple little game, could be very suitable for mobile. It would be great with some upgrades and additional levels and such. Really great sound design and music!

gerardb 2017-12-05 19:46

Original and cool mechanics. I enjoyed playing. Congrats!

kix334 2017-12-06 09:19

I really liked the sounds, the music is very westerny

pedro-miranda 2017-12-06 12:18

Nice entry! I like the mechanics and the sounds are fun :D

lucas-ferrantelli 2017-12-11 10:02

Nice game dude ! I like this mechanic, good entry !

frederikja163 2017-12-11 10:14

nice game, nice design idea. I wish the robbers where a bit more predictable, it felt nice and difficult to controll them but they were just a bit too unpredictable after my taste

A simple but interesting game, which does justice to the theme. I like how it becomes more and more difficult to juggle the bandits as more and more of them board the train.

It was not entirely clear to me what were the conditions for the guy with a rifle popping out of the engine room and shooting your guys. Does he appear regularly with a fixed delay and is there something the player can do to avoid him?

In terms of mood and mechanic I think you did a very good job.

It was especially interesting for me to look at your game since my friend and I also made a western-style game about train robbery, but one where you try to protect the train (basically playing as that guy with the rifle on the train engine). Maybe you'll also be interested in trying our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/desert-express

Quite interesting! I like the simplicity of the gameplay and that you start playing right from the start. I would have liked to control many more characters at the same time, they sort of kept coming with a low frequency. Good job anyways!

I like the balancing act of having a bunch of bandits! I think there's a lot to explore here, and I think some improvements could be made like adding a medium/slow projectile to the driver's shot since that would give an opportunity to dodge and keep more bandits around. Another thing is there should be a loss state like having all of them die, and maybe allow the player to summon extra bandits by spending money. This way they can make a long term investment if they're good enough at balancing. Another minor tweak I would recommend is to slightly randomize the bounce of the bandits so that they aren't always in sync, since this way players could control them individually if they're good enough. Very charming game and the core gameplay is solid so it gets a thumbs up from me :)

Good concept and good mechanics, a lil tutorial in the start would have helped. Overall well done and all the best :) Feel free to play and rate my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/split

Good idea and worth expanding on. Good job!

redbirdmenace 2017-12-14 08:09

Really cool game! Only suggestion is if you expand the game following LD is to include instructions in-game. Also some kind of high score mechanic!

pcmxms 2017-12-14 09:13

Interesting mechanics. I also suggest expand a bit (maybe some collectables, maybe a longer train, maybe a way to dodge the bullet).

Cheers!

tinis-games 2017-12-14 11:18

The idea of controlling all bandits at the same time is interesting :) Maybe you should add an ending? (timer, limited number of bandits,...)

sorlok 2017-12-17 17:26

Excellent use of the theme! I liked the use of the train operator with the shotgun to balance your band of thieves (did he come out more often if you stayed in one place?) Seems like this could be expanded into a fun incremental game (or phone game). Great job!

magicdidac 2017-12-22 17:28

Cool idea! I'm falling in love with the cowboys!

Congratulations and good luck!

conrad123 2017-12-25 15:14

Nice job! I feel that the difficulty level could have increased as you got more money. Also, the characters could have matched the other art a little better. I hope you keep working on this, because it is really solid!

zirrrus 2017-12-25 16:14

The presentation makes the gameplay even more fun, neat ideas!
