Nice game, i realy like the concept however i dont realy see the fit with the theme might just be me tho, also it was realy confusing when the sheep would hit me and when they would go into my stomach :P but overall nice sounds and nice art and nice mechanics. Also it would be a bit nice to move faster imo.
Realy fun, i like the style of the graphics and the audio, it seems like a 90s game to me i think the game im thinking of is called keen. It looks very inspired by that game, but overall realy nice game
probs just a problem for me but it randomly froze for me in the start so I couldn't realy play the game
Realy nice and simpilstic game but i would like a more visual representation of your health and closer to the center of the screen since it was a bit annoying looking at your health to see if you had the right speed. Also the visuals and the audio could need a bit of improvement but overall realy nice and good experience. Also for a game with highscore based on time i think the controlls where a bit irresponsive (response time was too big) in a game like yours they should be as smooth as humanly possible
your links are not hyperlinks which makes it a bit annoying to open the webpages
Nice concept and nice graphics, the cannon was realy hard to hit the enemies with tho, I would also like a way to move using the minimap or the availability to see my boat on the minimap but realy nice game overall
Very nice and interesting experience, i realy like the way the game felt, nice and difficuly but not too difficuly. However it took me a bit of time to recognise i had to go into the galaxy things
ty so much for the feedback oliverec franzeu and rature i appreciate it so much :)
ty so much for the nice feedback guys, cubeeo ty for telling me about the stone and log description I must have missed that at the refining point
@elemel ty so much for the awesome feedback, i will definatly keep this in mind... btw im designing a 3d version of this for post ld now so you can look forward to that game in a few years... :) @yohoho-games-2 like i just said, im working on a 3d multiplayer version right now, i hope i will see you playing the 3d version aswell :D. @cayleblucas ty so much im also so proud of the visual style since i made it all myself :D even tho many people dont realy seem to like it :P. @wakka2 ty so much, there is stone in the bottom left cornor of the island and if you had found that it would tell you, you need to craft a boat to get off the island.
@junjunlowpoly and @brycetaylor ty so much for the post ld game im not going to include the weight mechanic either so look forward to that :D. @satyr i would realy like to see this game fully polished aswell in the future so i am going to keep it up :D :D :D @jack-maxwell ty for the awesome and constructive feedback, i will keep everything you said in mind when creating the game, which btw i am going to do
@mrtroy ty so much for the so nice feedback, that is by far the best feedback i have gotten and as a special ty i will go play your game imidiatly after writing this :D, one of the main reasons i did the car controls is that i couldnt figure after 3 hours how to do my controls properly so i just did A and D to rotate and W and S to move, also for the weight numbers you just had to click the items and then info, almost like dropping. but yeah again, ty so much for the nice feedback 5/5
@nekoballs ty so much for the awesome feedback i apreciate it and hope you will play the bigger game.
good idea... the sound was realy annoying tho i had to turn sounds off on my pc because the way it loops is just annoying and there isnt enough variation either. also at the start i found it difficult to find what controlls i had to use.. maybe its just because i tried the arrow keys and for some reason they didnt do anything tho... what do i know.
Very nice game, it covers the theme and its alot of fun, however i think the movements are a bit weird and it feels weird being a square instead of a circle when able to move diagonaly, also the way you orient which way you are looking i find too difficult aswell. Also another thing is... the entire game is being playd by keyboard but every time i want to play again i have to lift my hand from the keyboard and onto the mouse, this is a easy thing to miss. But in general great job
Realy nice game, i like the art and the audio alot the design it self was a bit hard to understand at first tho but once you got it, it was a nice experience. Keep up the good work
Graphics are pretty good, the mechanics are really good. I like the overall design and feel (including mood) of the game, the controls were a bit weird tho. I had to read the instructions because I couldn't figure out how to jump intuitively
Controls are reversed what?? why?? when i press A it moves right but when pressing d it moves left, also the game feels next to impossible, if you want to further develop this game you should work on some balancing
link still not fixed
Realy nice game, only thing to put a finger on is the way the objects just keep sliding out of the screen. Would have been nice with a few updates to the objects movement. Ex. you could make the objects not just slide but be moved by some kind of conveyor belt and you could make them fall to the ground and be broken once they reach the edge. Those two small things would have made the game a small faver. but all in all very nice job
nice game, nice design idea. I wish the robbers where a bit more predictable, it felt nice and difficult to controll them but they were just a bit too unpredictable after my taste
Great game and nice concept! You have huge potential here, if you just give this game some nice polish remove a few bugs, and playtest to figure out what levels are easiest. I think also a port to a mobile app would have huge potential. Definitely give this game some more work and you could earn big money on it.
Nice game, with a really thought out tutorial.
Would definitely benefit from some description of an overall goal you would have to do. Like others have said, i stopped after playing for a short while because i wasnt hooked at all. It just felt like a lot of random events following each other, and my impact on the story didnt seem immidiatly obvious.
Congrats @PixelatorGadzy, i think you are the first person to beat the devscore legit. I tried for like 2 hours but i couldn't do it. I had to cheat in order to beat the devscore to test if the little mystery message even appeared correctly.
Nice game, however it was pretty much unplayable with the sounds turned on. There is some weird high pitched noise in the music that became unbearable after the second level. Otherwise good job.
This game reminds me a lot of my own submission.
A little tip: Dont just place text at the beginning you have to click in order to start the game. I tried running the game from linux through wine and i couldn't figure out how to start the game because the cursor didnt swap sprites correctly. Wont rate as i never figured out how to play the game.
A bit hard, but i think that was on purpose. It reminds me a lot of that game were you sit in a cauldron and try to climb a mountain. Graphics are meh, aswell as the innovation and the theme was not really present at all.
Link doesnt work
Simple concept, not too great execution. But if you only made this game in 24 hours then its pretty nicely done.
Too long loading time at the beginning for a game that is "refresh to retry". Otherwise great idea. (I even have a really high end pc, wouldn't wanna try this on a laptop.)
The only thing i didnt like is how much the particles on explosion obstructed the view.
You cannot just put unstable in the title to get an unstable game. This game has nothing to do with the theme
Really interesting concept. And GREAT execution too. From the voicelines/audio and graphics, to the coding. I suspect pretty much everything in here is made to be physically accurate too? Like how radioactive each element is and the reaction chains. If it is physically accurate this game also has some great potential for education.
Nice thought to use roblox as an engine, unfortunately the game was bugged for me beyond the point were it was playable.
Very nice game, the intro is especially nice. The only two things i can really put my finger on is the english level isnt 100% perfect, which is completely fine but it is a negative none the less. The second thing is that I COULD NOT BUY NUCLEAR POWER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, in real life like 100% of our energy problems would be solved by nuclear power, but in this game i didnt start with 6m to buy it and thus i went bankrupt, even though my country is millions in depth :(
Anyways those two things are really minor, nice game in general. Took a bit of getting used to, but i got there in the end and finished the game.
@vixenmink thanks a lot for all the feedback, that is definitely usefull and something i will keep in mind if i ever get to making this into a real game. Writing out a detailed comment like that takes a long time, so thanks for taking the time to understand, play and rate the game.
Very confusing game, you have to explain when i have to click in a game like this, and provide some feedback to show that clicking doesn't do anything.
The experience currently is just that i click and sometimes it does something and other times it doesnt
Well... its a nice although short animation.
It is a good game from an art and audio perspective. It really gives off a nice mood with the screen shake and music too. However from a design perspective it is a bit questionable. There isn't anything interesting here, little to no explanation is given, and finally a lot of the stuff is just confusing at first. At the end i dont even know whether i won or failed.
You should put a little thing in the corner telling people to press ESC in order to upgrade. The guide and all other text is too long for some people to read so having a little something in game to hint on how to upgrade would go a long way. You could also make it so we can click the earth to upgrade and make sure we know we can click on the earth etc.
Small things like that to give you information while playing the game is great.
@aesaire i think you need more farms, the farmers are only good if they have farms to produce on. I fully understand if you dont want to go back and try again though. But it would be appreciated.
Impressive colony, in play testing we usually got up to around 30 ants, so its nice seeing someone liking it enough to go as far themselves :)
Very fun and nice game. At first i was hoping it would just go on forever. At the end it felt a bit repetitive though. I also feel like the beginning was a bit too hard compared to the later levels. I would have liked it if there were no resets and instead you played the same level all the way through the monsters just increased. In order to still have some sense of progression within the game you could lock the small towers behind wave requirements.
Overall very fun and engaging.
I sadly couldnt get the game to work besides placing the first items in their designated spots. Maybe i did something wrong? I tried clicking the chalk and nothing happened. But from the pictures i think i get what this game is about, the art is cool and it seems like a neat little experience. Nice job
Visuals and audio is really nice. The controls feel a bit unresponsive at times, i think it is because the game is not listening for events while in the middle of two tiles. The gameplay loop is original and fun, but it also doesnt really make sense to me. What do i get after completing a level? What is the purpose of the replicator? How do i deal with the enemies? I have a sword but can i use it? If you have thought about these questions a tutorial would be great, otherwise thinking about them would be a good idea.
@owtuvammo @zoranac @themaskedman if i guess correctly you are all on windows. My game engine did in fact have some problems on windows, but there should be a windows build now. If you are still experiencing problems it might be worth a shot to re-size the window. Please let me know if you still have issues.
@studiocherno wait are you cherno from the youtube channel?
@kanagg The speed does actually increase slowly. If you get to wave 11 it is almost impossible to beat
@lone-wolf Thanks for the log, thats actually really helpful. Can you tell me what graphics card you are using, since its a shader compilation bug?
I really dont understand the dammage mechanic, i also think it has been made too complicated. The controls felt really nice, but i hate that i have to use the mouse. Maybe you could have done WASD for movement, and arrow keys for aiming.
Very very cool game, even though this is not my favorite genre i really enjoyed this game. Probably one of my favorite games i ever played in ludum dare ever. Only note i have is that the sound is a bit annoying very quickly. Everything else is ready to release with some more levels and maybe a tutorial.
Very fun and interesting game, i wish it was a bit easier to play with touch pad though.
The tutorial is a bit long and boring as it isnt interactive, but the actual gameplay is fun. If you want to make it more engaging maybe a shop of sorts could go a long way (although i dont know what happens after 1000 kills so maybe that does indeed happen.)
This game was a tad bit too 2D for me in terms of gameplay. There were not really any decisions to be made from a players perspective. I felt like i was just drawing as fast as possible and i would win automatically. If you made more decisions available to the player you could definitely go somewhere with this game. Currently it just looks like a drawing simulator though.
Ideas for more interactability: A price per summon, multiple lanes, more patterns, using memory to remember the patterns instead of something you can see when drawing.
Other than that it was a really nice game though.
Pretty cool game, i really liked the art, was it really done by your kids?? I didnt really understand what words were and werent allowed though. I wrote some words that were definitely english words but they didnt give me anything. Maybe i missed something, but even after looking multiple times i could not find any rules about which words are allowed.
The only one i really remember is bulb, i also didnt find that many, i just remember a few times where i though "this is word... right??" Maybe i was wrong in some cases, or maybe i mispelled them
Nice game, it had a good gameplay loop that was very addictive. I normally only play through games once, but i played through this one twice since it was so much fun. I just had to try and max out but that turns out to be really really hard.
Very cool game, i only wish there would have been subclasses later on. Would also have been really cool to play something like a vampire stealing hp from enemies instead of just damaging them.
Gets boring very quickly, i dont feel like there is that much choice there is like 1-2 good way to place the walls and thats it. Every level is just the same after that.
The sound was a bit repetitive after a while. Cool game though, this genre of game is definitely right up my alley. If you end up turning this into a "real" game after LD feel free to let me know as im very interested. Overall it does need a bit of work though, the graphics are nice, but i would suggest instead of going completely black and white instead do a grayscale for the background, like most websites, as that tends to look cleaner.
Overall not the most innovative game, but definitely fits the theme and an enjoyable experience. Good work!
Simple idea, great execution. A bit hard to play with touchpad, but thats not really a problem. I like the visuals, and the sounds. The game seems a bit familiar to my own, i like the direction too.
I feel like this game has great potential. You are definitely a good artist, i quite liked the cute little ghosts and the skull. If im not mistaken you might have overestimated how much time you had, especially considering this is your first game jam. Its always a struggle how to manage your time, just remember you dont have to write the most perfect code or make the most perfect art. Sometimes you have to focus on getting some content or a nice gameplay loop. Overall a fun game though.
