AH ! Finally! The Game has been submitted. Its 6:30 AM in the morning and I NEED TO GO TO SLEEEEEP... :p

But yes we had loads of fun making our first game for Ludum Dare. Me and my artist friend Alex are the only two persons working on driving the zombies off our neighbourhood.

Although we did use some 3rd party royalty free assets like 3D models and Game Music from Unity Asset Store and OpenGameArt.org

I will post their links soon in another comment. But a big thanks to them for sharing such awesome works for free.

For the game we have used the following tools:

Unity Engine for the game ofcourse

Audacity and Bosca Ceoil for sounds

Adobe Photoshop and Pixlr online for the 2D artworks.

Off to bed now. But soon will return to play what you guys have made. Can't wait for that ;) Cheers!

That was interresting. However, I have found the laser very difficult to control. The gyroscope movement was a nice touch, though ! I'd say, it has some real potential.

@vfabien21 Thanks for the comment. We will try to make the controls smoother

@roxter08, by the way, I realise that you have very few ratings. You know that the most reliable way to get votes is to vote and comment other games ? This sends you directly to the first page of game selection, until you get some votes.

roxter08 2017-12-13 19:09

Sure thing. I just got stuck with some other work. But now I guess I should start playing other games and comment on them :)

I can't get the application to run on Android x86 (7.1-rc2). Could you, please, build a Windows version, if it's not too much work?

roxter08 2017-12-14 20:02

sure @m-1. Even better I'll try to make a web player so no time wasted on download and install . Wait let me try to make a quick setup !

Great game you have here! The graphics are good and the sound adds to the atmosphere. The gameplay can get a little tedious though. I would suggest making the laser do more damage but also having the zombies move faster. Right now both the movement and shooting are just not at a high enough past. If you create the sense of urgency than it feels more entertaining.

Overall great job and goodluck!

Check out my game if you like! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/virus-detected

thanks for the review @illabom :)

Hey guys...made an HTML build with some updates on the level design.

Check it out. And please dont forget to rate and comment.

Graphics look VERY nice, good job! Camera control and aiming work very well, my only complain is that it takes too much time to kill the zombies, maybe the first wave(s) should die quicker.

roxter08 2017-12-15 19:05

Thanks for the comment @totsboy. Will surely improve the level design.

frederikja163 2017-12-15 19:18

Controls are reversed what?? why?? when i press A it moves right but when pressing d it moves left, also the game feels next to impossible, if you want to further develop this game you should work on some balancing

nnnikki 2017-12-15 21:28

I have a theory that this game is impossible. The zombies have too much health. I'd recommend that you should add different types of enemies, getting more powerful after each wave, and also maybe powerups that would give you move damage, health or power.

m-1 2017-12-16 15:38

Nicely slow-paced action with nice and simple graphics. Using the *"zap the zombies nearest to the house and try to hit more of them if possible, also try to stall them before they attack"* strategy I managed to reach 7th wave with just 4 zombies left.

Some tips/ideas: - reduce the waiting times before next wave after killing all zombies - swap the keys A and D - increase the firepower of the laser - shooting the house should damage it - add a possibility to change the altitude (to be able to zap more zombies in a row) - add a possibility to land (for faster recharging or even disable recharging when in-air, maybe also for pickups/upgrades or for setting zombie-traps) - increase the stall time after hitting a zombie - discharge the battery when moving (A/D) - add more weapons! (upgrades? EMP? stronger laser pulse, which would need to be charged?) - add more levels of destruction to the house model - the game got stuck when the house was destroyed (Animations stopped, but no end-game screen was showed. I could just move the laser, but firing or moving the drone did not work)

Thanks for the WebGL build. I'm glad I could play it!

The concept of the game, with the rotating camera is awesome. The art and audio are also very good.

To keep things interesting maybe add more weapons or upgrades. And reduce the waiting time between waves. I thought I had broken your game after killing all zombies in wave 2 :p

Keep up the great work, congratulations!

Tower defense isn't really my thing. But it was fun to zap the zombies. Some comments:

* The mouse aim didn't really work well except close to the house. (This could have been helped by hiding the cursor). * My house kept loosing health without there being any visible zombies in sight. Anyone behind the house? Or invisible zombie? * It would really have been nice with a score or some kind of win / loose condition.

arron-fowler 2017-12-18 09:53

I could see this being great fun with a few tweaks. Looks and feels quality.

roxter08 2017-12-27 18:28

First of all Thanks a lot guys for all the suggestions. I would surely consider them and move forward with the development. Sorry I was out of touch for some time, got tied up with some freelance work. But anyway I'm back with you guys now ! Lets ZAP THE ZOMBIES together :D
