Your itch.io link is giving a 404 error!
yeah, I'm getting the same 404 error for itch link
@towerhufham,@cubeeo Oops! Should work now
Starts on linux but it does not react on clicks so you can't start a game. If you want to shut it down Alt F4 does not work. Neither did a normal kill or killall. Only kill -9 ended it. Pressing keys does not work either.

Even though it doesn't look polished and is extremely simple, I think it was so far the best game I played this jam, fun wise. Sure, graphics, audio and mood aren't that good, but in the end what really counts is the fun you have. I also really liked the curved look! Good job man!
The controls are pretty smooth, but in my opinion, the speed could be much higher, seems very easy. You could also add jumps, this could add some extra difficulty to it. But overall, well done!
Fun game! If you add a soundtrack and some pleasant sound effects, the game could be quite fun. I couldn't stop until I got a decent enough score. Nice job!
Great game. I didn't get the highest score, but I really liked the trade off mechanic, and it had a good twitch factor to it. Controls seemed tight which is important for a game like this. The sound and graphics are the big thing I'd consider improving.
Interesting but too slow... It's too easy, so you get bored really fast.
It's really fun. I think you hit the theme very well and the curved road adds so much to the gameplay. Also the graphics is the best possible version of "programmer art" in my opinion. Good job!
Ugh.
I'm glad you fixed the link, because this was surprisingly enjoyable. Obviously, this game is not about the graphics and audio, but it's got real playability, and I think that's important. Too many games with this theme make the game super difficult, with no option to make it easier; the games that succeed give you a pressure relief valve on difficulty, which you did. Also, to anyone above saying the game is too easy, they obviously didn't try to go fast enough. I'm saying this as the person who just took the 2nd spot on the leaderboard, with a time of 39.147s. It's easy if you don't try to go fast, sure. But, that's the point, you want to get to the end as fast as possible. This was well done. I think it was smart to focus on gameplay mechanics over graphics and audio. Not that it looks bad, plus that can be improved later. In short, it's a simple, fun game. It was difficult to close out of the game, at the end, however.

I took first place! Really fun game, great concept. The graphics and audio are bare minimum, but the cool idea and tight controls made it fun to play.
Great! I love that you have to actually make a decision about whether or not to try to hit blocks AND health and that the answer to that decision isn't always the same. That's really nice. I really like the curved track; it does a good job of showing you what's coming in a reasonable way. It felt like I was playing on an Atari again in a good way. It was just fun. Good job.
This is so much fun to play! Love the risk/reward gameplay as the take on the theme. The graphics are also very nice. I like this a lot and I'm sure I'll play some more to climb my way on the leaderboard ;)
This is so fun. With some cool characters and soundtrack, it would be perfect.
This was really fun and creative. You clearly weren't focusing on graphics and audio but I liked the climbing effect. I liked the leaderboard too, it motivated me to try the game a few times. I managed to get 57.
Very simple (mechanically as well as graphically) but a ton of fun. As others have said: a good soundtrack and some better graphics and this would be fantastic.
Simple, but very fun game. The gameplay of having to balance going fast and not dying was good, I think the addition of a good soundtrack would really make the game great.
I need a 6th star to score for innovation. like others said some nice music or at least 3-4 melodic notes collisions sfx would add a lot to the game. I also found that reading health was difficult because top right is definitively not thep lace you want to look. Maybe that changing block colors when you are 15 or below would have help ( your block or why not all other blocks too ). Backgrounc color change would also work great. The view is also very clever, make the road reading very pleasing.
It just doesn't get boring. Determined to get on top of that leaderboard.
Really great game. Simple mechanic, but the fact that you can choose your difficulty make it really great ! I made several runs to try to get a good place on the leaderboard ;)
Nice! Pretty basic but really fun, great use of the theme. I managed to get the top score at the time, 36.465, after 10-15 or so attempts. The leaderboard made it really addictive. Might be cool if there were a few unavoidable blocks in order to force you to go faster/manage your health to make it a bit harder. Good work!
Realy nice and simpilstic game but i would like a more visual representation of your health and closer to the center of the screen since it was a bit annoying looking at your health to see if you had the right speed. Also the visuals and the audio could need a bit of improvement but overall realy nice and good experience. Also for a game with highscore based on time i think the controlls where a bit irresponsive (response time was too big) in a game like yours they should be as smooth as humanly possible
I had great fun trying to beat the highscore (ended up around 8th) it's a simple concept but really enjoyable. I'd be nice to have your current health more centralized so you can glance at it easier but the mechanics are solid. Great work.
Nice game! Although the life would have to be better visualized I think ;)
Pretty nice, I like the mechanic. Some music would make this game really good. Congrats!
At first I was really confused. Then I realized the mechanics of the game. THEN I realized the genius of the game: to get a good score you have to be stupid! I played this a lot trying to get a good score, and I had to really tear myself away from it to play other games. Extremely simple but effective mechanic. Nice!
I had a lot of fun with this! The high score was a fantastic idea and nearly made me late for work because I wanted to improve my spot :)
Nice game ! The mechanics are cool, and would make a really cool game if there was a bit more polish (models for the bricks and player, and a music); Cool entry :)
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. My only suggestion would be to make visual feedback 'juicy' and to make is a more musical experience. Not by making it a rhythm game, but by turning the sounds of colliding with the blocks into musical notes of a song, which would of course increase in tempo as you speed up.
holy moly what a fun and cool concept - in order to win you have to really put your life on the line. it's like the russian roulette of audiosurf clones
Very nice take on theme. Game is fun even though there are almost no visuals. Cool risk/reward mechanic makes me really like your game. Good job!
I looooooooooove this game. At first I thought 'nice, cool gimmick, fluid execution, just needs some non-placeholder art'. Then the online high score hit for massive awesomeness.
This game is very fun, I found myself replaying to try and place on the scoreboard. The more health you have, the slower you are mechanic was very interesting and made this a very unique game. I found the balance of health vs speed very hard to get right, but I still tried over and over again because I was having a lot of fun.
With some improved graphics and music, this could be a great game. Good job!
Great game! Thanks for suggesting it :D managed to get sub 35!
It's a simple concept but it works so well. I love that the green tokens end up being both a life line when everything's going too fast, and also an obstacle, slowing you down when you don't want to. It's a great challenge, very difficult at the top speed, but the more you play the slower everything seems, kind of reminds me of how Super Hexagon feels.
The curved track was much appreciated too. Gives a very clear view of the upcoming obstacles.
I'm definitely going to give you a 5 for fun and theme on this one :) I would really love to see this game with a few punchy effects thrown in when you get a speed boost, maybe some lines appearing at the side to indicate the scene rushing past.
Nice one!
Game was a lot of fun! I think you really nailed the difficulty of the game. I probably played for at least 30 minutes. Like people said above, if you polish the graphics / music, this could definitely be a bigger game project, in my opinion. Awesome game!
Nice game! Good job!
Our team does a weekly indie gamedev podcast called Nice Games Club, and we just did a Let's Play episode where we played thirty-six (!!) Ludum Dare 40 games, including yours (which we liked more the more we played it)!
