Great game! Instructions are needed but i eventually figured it out.
It's beautiful, in a way.
I love the interpretation of the theme!
It's fun, the graphics are cute... What's not to love?
You shouldn't be able to turn without moving.
This is the kind of game I would like to see more of on Ludum Dare!
The graphic are weird at first, but it's a fun game!
I like how the snowman gets bigger when pelted with snowballs.
The music fits great!
You should allow fullscreen in the ludum dare plug-in. Also, the monster only shoots right.
Fun but a little hard.
The graphics look great!
Great game! It's a bit confusing at first, but otherwise, great job!
The music seems happy, but the gameplay is not...
The control are really glitchy on mine. Might just be me.
Very hard.
@undef Hacking is a crime that makes people lose their money, lose their jobs... It can terrorize the population in the same way that a 'real' monster can.
There are some ways where the story goes on forever.
Best game I've played here so far.
Wow. Nice job! The graphics are great!
Looks like a nice idea. Unfortunately the main game text is glitch in my web version, so it's not working too well. But great job!
Great game! I had a lot of fun! It's certainly a really cool idea!
Nice job! The graphics look great!
To say that I didn't have fun would be a lie. This is certainly a winner in the humor category! The music is perfect. :D I think it needs some graphic work though. But great job!
Great job! The animation is incredible!
This was very good! It made me laugh. A lot. The controls take some time to master, and with my sticky trackpad it's kind of hard. But the artwork is great!
Wow. This is the best game I've played so far! My only question is how did you make this in just 2 days? All of the islands look great, and the statues and plants add some flair. It's very funny too! After the first island, I held the space bar and went up and up, until I became one with the clouds. It was beautiful, in a way.
Nice job! I got 137. The transition are really nice, and the idea is great! One interesting problem that I noticed was that the background moved to very bright shades of red during parts of the game. My display was so bright, and I had to focus on the gear as it sped up, so my eyes started watering from the intense color! I'm not sure if others have this problem, or if it's just me. But great job! This is an awesome entry!
This game was really fun. It was hard to get at first, but once you got ahold of it, it was immersing and fun. I suggest that you make the computer a little easier. Even when I was spawning as quick as I could, most of the action was taking place in my half.
Nice job! This is a really great platform, and the drone is a great idea! Two thumbs up!
This is super cool! I'm not very good at it though. XP
@wheerd @dwhiffing Adding physics would be a great idea, though you would probably need another type of projectile (rocks don't bounce too well). I might add an ice projectile, which would slide and wipe out all the opponents before hitting a wall. But it might be hard to find a projectile that bounces and still stays within the Ancient Technology theme. Maybe you could launch cows, and they would bounce. :P
The music and background in this game are incredible! And the asteroid looks so realistic! I loved this. It would be nice if you could take the transmitters with you, that might be something cool to add. Nice job!
Woohoo! Another catapult game! :P
This game is pretty fun. It's difficult, but it looks nice and it's rewarding when the cats congratulate you when you finish a level. What confuses me is that the clouds go over the map instead of staying in the background. Was that intentional?
This game is neat! I love the water animation, and the artwork in general is fantastic. Great job!
This is really good for 48 hours!
It says that the executable was not attached.
Nice! I made it glitch on a couple levels near the end (I was able to go through walls) but this was nice!
"Press the spacebar to lose again." :P
Nice job! This looks cool. It's hard though!
Nice job! This is hard!
@nicruo @SimonHutchson @sfje-team @HolyBlckCat @Kazik_210 @timgarbos Whoops! Try now. XP
@Uliana Galich what links are broken?
@kleinzach I know. Personally it would have been cool if there were more levels, but I wanted to fit the theme. More levels = more rooms = no theme. In my first LD, I didn't follow the theme, and it definitely hurt. I agree that there could be more, but I was happy with what I put up. I made the single room look nice.
I should probably rate a game that has the same name as mine, or at least view it. :P Yours puts mine to shame though.
Nice graphics!
Wow. This game is amazing, especially for a solo effort! Great job!
Nice game. I wasn't a big fan of the left control to jump, however. It felt awkward. I would have liked to have used the spacebar instead.
This was an interesting idea. I sort of used spray fire for the first few waves, but soon my population was so big that it got hard to control outbreaks. Good work.
This is a really cool simulation. It's good for a compo and it could go places.
Nice job. This was really relaxing. However, it could be better if there were more gameplay options. Right now, there aren't too many different snowglobes you can make. It would be great if there were more. Nice work!
If there were votes for names this one would be at the top. :P
@random-storykeeper I can't believe you finished the game! Thanks for the incredible feedback. Yes, the difficulty level of this game can definitely be improved (it's way too hard). I agree with everything you've said here. I haven't made a platformer before, so this was a good experience for me. But the only way I can improve is through feedback like this. Thanks a ton!
Nice job! I really loved the audio. This really diverges from what most people used for the theme, and I like it. :)
This was actually a really nice game, to be honest. The painted graphics worked well with the game. Nice job!
Nice job! I got stuck behind one of the rocks, however, so I had to finish early.
Nice job. The music was great. I don't think I will end up working as a planet thief anytime soon, however. :P
Nice job. I was really bad. :P I was playing in the web version, so I'm not sure if this is true with the other versions, but it would be nice if the tutorial didn't repeat every time.
I thought that more people would end up going for a circular platformer so I chose not to. This is a good implementation of one, however. Nice job.
I really like this game but it could include one improvement. Sometimes, when I was just standing and waiting for enemies, one would spawn right on top of me, with little or no time to react. This game is really good but if you could fix that it would be even better.
This game is pretty good. Unreal doesn't like my graphics card, but that didn't matter too much. I would add some things to your game. It would be cool to have some drift at high speeds so that I could make long turns. Secondly, the game feels empty. It doesn't feel like a world because there isn't much in it. Maybe you could add more people and some cars or something like that. Finally, the game ended for me when I flipped my car. If there was a car reset button it would be very useful.
This is a really cool and funny game. Good job. The one thing that I would suggest would be to make the graphics style more consistent. The player doesn't really match the ball. But good work nonetheless!
Nice Game. Interesting background. The sounds effects don't really match your style, but the individual components of the game are great.
Nice game. I agree with @cogcomp about the beginning display size. Maybe you could have made the game a little bit longer? Just some thoughts. Good work.
This game is great and very creative! I had a ton of fun playing it. Unfortunately there aren't a ton of people in the twitch viewing area so it's usually just 1 on 1 fighting. But great stuff!
A very good game for only 10 hours of development. It's cute. I would have liked the microscope to be bigger, however. I understand that you're trying to make this world seem small, but the mere fact that we're seeing these bacterium is good enough. It would be nicer to see more on the screen and have less whitespace.
Nice job. I thought that it was a bit slow, but it all made sense in the end.
This game was pretty good. I thought that the game mechanic of repeatedly jumping was way too difficult, but that's just me. All of the graphics were cute except for the thorn bushes. Their repeated flashing was just annoying for me and hard on my eyes. The character animation was really smooth though.
Nice concept. A little buggy with the astronaut spawn but good work. :)
Nice intro. I thought that it was a bit slow. I didn't get the feeling that I was stealing anything. Also, it was hard for me to tell if I was going up or down stairs. The player animation could be improved. I liked the humor, however.
Nice job! I thought this was stretching it on the theme a little bit but otherwise nice work!
Interesting experiment with procedural generation. I sort of just clicked my mouse the entire time, and because there's no ammo reloads I got rid of all of the enemies. The jumping is tough though. I usually died.
Nice job. I love the graphics.
Brilliant. Reminds me of the Little Prince. One thing that I would change would be to clear up the movement between planets. There's no directions on that.
Wow. This was a great game! It was quite intuitive. Good job!
Nice game. It wasn't as relaxing as I wanted it to be because my browser was running at 1fps but I still liked it. Funny how things work.
This game was pretty good. I like the planet animation. However, you should make it so you can bounce planets off of walls. Much of the time there's no visible target for a planet of that color. Bouncing might fix this, and it would add a new gameplay element as well.
Nice Game! I like the mood.
This might be the coolest take on the theme that I've seen. Unfortunately the implementation could use a lot of work. I understand that you are under a time crunch, but the mechanics really didn't make sense for me. What posts should I do to boost followers? How do I boost my mental health? And most importantly, how do I earn more money? I always ended up losing because I ran out of money. I didn't know how to make any! It became frustrating just to watch my money slowly run down, with nothing I could do about. And often, when I would try to post, the menu would go away! This seems like a small thing, but as a player, it's really really frustrating. It's like the game is trying to work against you. However, each of these things can be fixed, after the constraints of the jam. I trust that, if you had more time, you could make a really amazing game. I wouldn't give up on this idea!
Really nice music. I like the idea of using a dodge game for the theme, as it fits well. The tree graphics were very good, but I didn't feel like I was "in" the forest. The character was too simple, and the back-and-forth movement that gradually sped up had no real premise. What if you were a bird, flying away from predators? Or what if you were a person running away from an ever-increasing horde of zombies behind you? A premise like this would really get me into the action. I don't really know what the blue dots do for you; I was always going too fast to pick them up. Again, they don't really add to the premise either. I think that if you improvised on the idea here, and added some reason to be running, and to move forwards, then the user would really be enveloped in what could be a really solid game.
Two other tips: 1. If you spawn the trees on a curved surface, like how the earth is curved, you won't have the weird spawning out of the shadows that you do now. 2. The itch link says windows but there is a web player too. Let people know that you have a web game because some people won't play games they have to download for some reason. Just so you can get more plays.
Nice work! You could make a really cool app out of this if you stuck with it.
Thanks @kasper-dissing-bargsteen @satyre @jason-kennedy @kodiqi for giving these awesome reviews. I'm assuming you saw my post on the main page. @kodiqi The quit button is meant for when you are playing the downloaded button on a screen that isn't windowed; it's the equivalent of ESC. But thanks for the awesome review; that's exactly what I wanted. I'll return the favor.
This was a really awesome game, and I mean it. The art is great and the waves sounds really give you the feeling that you are on that ship, that you're the one undertaking this challenge. One problem that I noticed was that you must right click the bow to aim, but left click to fire. I have an apple mouse here and I can't use right and left click at the same time. If you made the controls click to aim and release to release that would make the game a little more fun for me, just because I can't use the bow right now. But that's really the only thing I can take away from a really solid entry.
Nice job! There's a couple things that you could polish up, but I encourage you to keep on working on this! The emoji guy at the end made me laugh. :P
This is a very, very solid compo entry. The graphics are great, the feel and the mood is awesome, the sound is perfect. I love the sheep that has the weird voice; every time I traded with him I laughed. The game doesn't really seem to fit with the theme, however. There's nothing about trading that makes it worse the more you get. In fact, it's the opposite! Also, the game doesn't really get much harder. Once you find a deal, it's always a deal. I would simply buy the voice changers from the sheep and sell them to the giraffe and make $40 each time. If the giraffe had said, "I've had enough of those! I need tacos," or something like that, then I would have had to find a new deal. Otherwise, like what @zee said, it just gets boring. But this game is still really really cool and I encourage you to continue developing it!
Great game. Thought the audio was really annoying but I love how the controls change as you drink more. Good job.
This was a really cool game idea. i always love games with undead people! :P The main issue with the game was the fighting mechanic. The enemies came too fast for you to kill with clicks. If you slowed down the spawning, it would be easier at the beginning. I think it would have been better is you attacked when you first pressed the mouse, not when you released. Also, the zombies really don't go away when you damage them. It would make more sense if they just died the first time you clicked.
I've made compo games before and I know how hard it is to balance difficulty in 48 hours. Putting that part of the gameplay aside, this is a good game, and I had a lot of fun playing it! My highscore was 750 I think. Keep developing this, because you could have something really cool on your hands!
Nice work, especially for having just learned Unity. I have barely used Unity before and I had to code some of the hardest stuff in our game :P. I really like how the NPCs navigate around the houses. It's a cool detail that really spices up the game. I feel like you should have instructions on this page, just so we know what we're doing when we start to play. I didn't understand how the game worked until I saw the first comments. The game is hard at first, but once you get a few things set up, it's really easy. There's no exponential population growth; if that was the case, things could get really interesting. If you added more things to place down, that could really spice up the game as well. Maybe you would need a hospital to support the sick, or a military to protect the city. There's a lot of potential in this game, so I encourage you to keep working on it!
This game is incredible. Need I say more?
I like the idea. It really fits the theme. However, I found it annoying that I had to click twice, once to pick up a block and once to let go. Once you put the box in the hole, it would be nice if it could just disappear. It would also be cool if you could pick up multiple boxes at once, and dump them in the same place. I encourage you to add more to this game!
Nice game, especially for the time you had! The idea, animations and the feel of the game is all quite good given the constraints you were under. I really didn't feel how this connected to the theme though. I understand that maybe you move faster when you have more stars, but that doesn't really make much sense. Also, the collisions on the player were quite unsatisfying. I would lose but not be anywhere near a block! You may not have had time for skeletal collisions, but maybe you could have made the hitboxes just a little smaller. Great job though, I had a ton of fun playing.
You should feel quite satisfied with a compo entry like this. I love the mood. This game is begging for more to be added and I hope you keep working on it!
I really like this game. A lot. The one thing I would change is the background - it hurt my eyes. But this game is incredible. I love the mood.
I really liked this game! I thought the idea was cool, even if it got frustrating at times. The only issue that I experienced was that when it got brighter, you could see through the blocks at the mountains in the background. I also wish this was longer, but I understand you in a time crunch. Nice work! I encourage you to keep developing this game!
For 5 hours, it's incredible! I will give that to you. The AIs do their job, the mechanic is awesome, the level is impressive for the time you had, and the gameplay is addicting. Not to mention the awesome innovation and take on the theme you had to do to come up with this! It's really impressive. I'm going to be picky about things though, like you were for me.
The graphics are good, but they don't fit. The bricks should, at the least, have some stroke to them. They look out of place. It might make more sense for you to use a solid color there, for the walls. Not sure how that would work but when I first saw your game those popped out for the wrong reasons.
Most of the people have been talking about the difficulty, and how, when there's just one gun, it's really hard to do anything. I do agree with that. However, it's something that's hard to change. It's more of a idea issue than a straight-up gameplay issue, and it's hard to think of a way to fix it. Maybe you could press buttons that rotate your gun 45 degrees either direction. Or maybe your gun is aimed towards the mouse. It's something that needs to be tested, and it's a preference thing in the end.
I thought that the camera was really annoying, and didn't show enough to the side that you were going. The edge of the camera scroll function is too far away.
Sometimes "jerks" would spawn right next to you. This was very annoying, and it led to me losing when I was in an otherwise great position. Sometimes they would spawn in walls, too, and get stuck.
I feel like the camera jolt is just a little bit too strong, especially when you have all 8 guns. I like it, though, and how real it feels.
I really really hope that you keep developing this! It's a great idea!
Really funny, if a bit glitchy. The whole concept made me laugh. Good job!
I really liked the graphics for this game. If you kept working on the gameplay you could have something really solid and marketable.
I had a lot of fun playing this! The graphics need a bit of work, but this is a really cool game. Nice job.
I love this idea! the one thing I'll say is that it really doesn't stick with the theme. The more you have, the worse it gets but you don't ever get more! If it got more difficult over time that would really be a fun challenge. Good work.
I suck at shooters but this is incredible. Wow. I always love ideas like this.
I really like the graphics in this game! Both the graphics and the audio really help establish the mood. A couple things: The audio wasn't very loud, and I didn't even know that the game had sound until halfway through (I had my computer volume on a little above half). Also, I didn't know to press z at the menu to start or after death to respawn.
The main thing I am going to have to bring up is the controls. If you are running away from a monster, you can't fire at it! It's really annoying; as soon as you turn around, you lose. There's no way you can recover. If you made firing WASD instead, that would be a lot better. Then I could press UP to go away from a monster, say, but press S to fire at it. Then you could also add more enemies, and more difficult enemies. Otherwise the game basically got reduced to hiding along the walls and sniping.
I really like this game and hope that you keep developing it! You've got a cool retro game on your hands.
I really really like this game. The art and music and mood are incredible. This is a perfectly designed and executed Ludum Dare game given the constraints. In fact, it's hard for me to find much to criticize. I feel that maybe the character could be more realistic. I know that you are trying to avoid having the player look like the NPCs, but maybe you could give the player a cool hat and bright ugly christmas sweater. Just something to set it apart. Also, animations would have made this game into something really polished. These are just small things I can take away from a really excellent game.
Nice job! I feel that the difficulty level could have increased as you got more money. Also, the characters could have matched the other art a little better. I hope you keep working on this, because it is really solid!
I'm usually not a fan of puzzle games, but this one was great. I didn't really see how it tied to the theme, but definitely a lot of places you could go with this one. Good job, and I hope you keep developing it!
@caseyh Thanks for the feedback! Definitely agree with what you've said. I think that we didn't have the time to really emphasize the idea that the main objective is to let your people escape, and that sacrificing a planet means a loss of people, and a loss of future points. Definitely something that needs to be further emphasized if we continue development. Appreciate the honesty.
Cool concept. Definitely could use some polish and some randomness - I would love power-ups or random spawning locations of escape pods or something. Music was a bit repetitive but I liked the sounds a lot. Nice take on the theme and good work!
Cool concept and nice job for a compo game. I felt that the gameplay got quite lacking after a while. Sometimes my children would get stuck and Satan would level up because of it. If you could have more interactivity, like selecting certain children to sacrifice, or being able to break them a path, the playability would be much improved. Also, a score system would be nice to judge how well you're doing and add a reward system. That being said, the animations in your game were really well designed, and I loved listening to music and sound effects. Keep working on this and you could have something really neat!
5/5 innovation for the cool concept. I love to play chess so I was hoping to be able to showcase my skills but the game was so hard! Definitely as lot of polish work that can be put into it. Also sometimes I would spawn and a knight would immediately kill me because I wasn't fast enough. I love the holes in the chessboard - they make things interesting - and the pieces look really cool! Nice job and keep developing this!
Cool idea. I like the backstory, and the music is fantastic. I think it could use a little bit of balance. The game was way too challenging for me without a lot of replayability. It's hard to squeeze in extra ships or new features in 48 hours but there's a lot of places you could go with this. Good job ;)
Cool concept. I'm usually not a fan of these types of games but the graphics and the music set the mood well and I enjoyed it. I felt that the gameplay was not very balanced and it was hard to survive and find cards that gave you the red icon. I also felt that there needed to be more cards on the playing field. Having a 2D grid, even a 2x2 square, would have been a lot more challenging and a lot more fun. That being said, you did a great job of fleshing out a unique concept in the 48 hours. I would like to see this go farther! :)
I wanted to like your game, but I couldn't. Let me explain. I don't want to come off as too critical, because there are aspects of your game that are amazing. I love the art and the voiceovers are really funny. But I feel that your game is very frustrating, and very unrewarding. First off, as a user, having C as the jump button is unnecessarily challenging. If you are left-handed, the game is pretty much impossible to play. I don't really get how the game ties to the theme. The narrative is too confusing for me to get an idea of depth, or story. I also did not know what to do, or what my objective was. This is an easy fix - you can just write something in the comments above. I get that you're trying to be deliberately vague, but it's frustrating. The cute crabs and slimes were the only thing keeping me going. There's a lot of visual and audio features that have the potential to make your game GREAT. But from a user feedback perspective, it doesn't feel right. And if I've learned anything from years of making crappy games, the most important thing about the game is the emotion it fosters. It can be funny, spooky, wacky, exciting, but it has to be fun. It has to be enjoyable both from the input side and the output side. Your game has great output, but there needs to be more of a focus on input - key controls, narrative and general gameplay. That's how you get players engaged, and then you can keep them hooked with what you already have. It's easy to see how much effort was put into this game, and you have a very good starting block for a long-term project. I'm just trying to add some things to take your game to the next level, because it is already excellent in many aspects. Hopefully you understand. Great job on making this in 72 hours and I hope that this was helpful.
Wow, great game! 5/5 Innovation for sure. I've never seen a puzzle game like that before! Lots of fun.
The learning curve for the game was steep because all of your grunts look the same. Maybe if they were bigger and looked a little different it would be easier for the user to know which is which.
One of the things that really frustrated me (and led to me quitting, after I missed getting the last grunt in the basket) was the size of the basket. It was too small! Make it bigger so that there is more room for error. Or at least make some sort of visual cue so that it is easier for the user to screw up.
Cool take on the theme and I hope you keep developing this! Looking forward to seeing this go places. Perhaps the most solid entry I've seen so far.
You made a bulleted list so I'll give you one back. Here we go:
Pros:
- Art really fit the game, felt immersive
- Music was EXCELLENT, set the mood really well
- Trails for orbiting paths of ships were very helpful
- UI designed beautifully
- Lots of fun! Cons:
- Gameplay seemed repetitive after a while, not a lot of randomness or replayability
- Instructions were a little confusing - what does each power do?
- Felt slow at times - energy boost from orbiting could have come quicker
Thoughts and Suggestions:
- The glare on the UI sometimes made it hard to see what the items were to choose. Just a small thing to improve.
- The sacrifice mechanic isn't as much of a sacrifice as it is a choice. (What should I choose to have the best odds of winning?) I don't feel that I'm losing anything by clicking on the energy tabs. Maybe you could reduce your HP to get more energy, or a faster reload? Just a thought.
- To improve the randomness, maybe each ship could start with certain random features, so that players can't just use the same strategy every time.
Overall, this game was lots of fun, and there's lots of places you could go with it! Nice job and keep developing!
This was a game that I grew to like! It was *really* hard initially when I was getting a hang of the controls. I just couldn't get my guys in line! It would definitely help to have a button that aligns your robots in single file - I feel that a lot of game time is wasted lining them up. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun! The spawning of new robots at certain points was necessary and a good idea. However, I think those places should also be checkpoints. I had the most fun on levels that were more puzzle-based (like the gap one or the moving wall one) but with the levels with the hammers or the action, it was too hard to manage all of my guys, and I couldn't see the obstacles with the perspective that I had at times. The music is repetitive, but the more I played the game, the more it fit with the vibe. I think that this game could use some refining, but great job for 48 hours!
This game was really fun to play! I loved the audio. A couple things that I would say is that I feel that the game is a bit of a stretch on the theme. I think there needs to be some idea that what the user is doing is a sacrifice (rather than just being, "swipey swipey"). Maybe the developers get mad at you or something. I thought that the swipe mechanic was cool, and was well implemented, but sometimes I can just hold my mouse in the path of a building and destroy it by barely moving. Also, the powerups are very useful, but it was unnatural for me to move my mouse all the way up to the corner to click a button. Perhaps using right click would be better. However, I thought you guys did a good job with this, especially for the time that you had!
Definitely a really cool take on the theme! I loved the graphics. The gameplay needs some more work, as there isn't really any objectives. I treated it more as a simulation, and it was a cool world to explore. If you took more time to work on this, you could have something really cool.
Nice idea, just wish there was more to play. You could definitely create some cool and difficult levels with more pieces and stuff. Good job!
This is excellent. Definitely the best game I've played so far this jam. I couldn't figure out how to get the elevator to go up once I had the gear in place, which is where I stopped. Maybe a little confusing at times but the mood and the art was excellent and kept me curious. High five for this one.
Love the concept! This is awesome. Was a little easy but I definitely think that you should consider expanding it into something marketable. Great job!
Interesting game. Funny concept but not a lot to it. More levels or mixing things up more between playthroughs would make it more interesting. Good job!
Nice job on this one. I've thought about making a game with a similar mechanic. From a gameplay side, I felt it was a little slow. I think you could restart every time you mess up, or maybe there is a timer that you have to beat. I also thought the art could've been more dynamic. But this is a cool concept, and I encourage you to keep pursuing it!
Incredibly addictive. I had to rage quit (I couldn't get it). It's a little simple; you could add things like a progress bar or a more dynamic background and music to make the experience even better. Good job!
Cool concept and nice exploration of the theme. Really a dark premise; maybe a disclaimer would be a good idea. Good job on this one!
Good puzzle! Lots of fun. I managed to win after way too long. You could add some music or a dynamic background in the future. Nice job!
5/5. Loved the scope and execution of this project. Best game I've played yet.
Interesting concept! I like the take on the theme. The gameplay was a bit repetitive, especially during the middle levels, but the mazes inside mazes at the end were a great addition and really tested memory. I liked the music, however, I found the movement sound effects a little annoying. Take nothing away from the concept, though - you should definitely keep developing this! Great job!
Thank you everyone for the feedback so far!
@udo 1) Generally I'd prefer it if you only rated if you played in headset but your feedback was very thorough so I'll let it slide. :)
2) I somewhat disagree with the message (at the end) too haha. I was at hour 42 when I wrote it and was on brain-dead mode somewhat. I was looking for it to be thoughtful and deep, to really fit with the figurative take on the theme. It really just needed to make you think.
Great job! The strategy system of the game is well-developed. It took me a lot of tries to figure out how to succeed! Once I got on a roll, though, it just became easier and easier. Keep developing this! It's a well-modeled system that just needs a little polish.
Respect for making a game for headset! I had to play another VR game, especially with that name. :)
I liked this one! The falling and high contrast aliasing (I was on Quest 1) did make me a little nauseous but I thought the gameplay was pretty unique. Maybe the difficulty could increase quicker over time. And I would've liked other methods of conveying score like color changes, sound fx, etc. But great job! An entry to be proud of.
Interesting! Loved the music and the vibe. I thought the art could have used a little bit of refinement - the lighting made it difficult for me to tell the difference between different types of rays. I also would have appreciated more instructions on the rules of the game - how the player moves, etc. But good job for the compo!
Note to self: Don't play with trackpad  Love the style though! Great work!
Love this idea! A little difficult to be fair, but I got a good laugh for sure. It took me a while to get a hang of the controls; I should pay attention to the text on the itch.io page, but you might want to change the font color so it's a little more enticing as well! I struggled to grab some of the papers when they fell on objects but once I got them flat, the marking controls felt really great. Definitely one of the better Compo entries I've played so far, good work!
Awesome! Lots of fun. I wish there was more nuance to the take on the theme, but the mood and vibe are excellent! Great little game!
What a cool take on the theme! Great job - I can see the time and effort that was put into this! I thought the main gameplay was a little slow at times, but the story and the humor kept me engaged. I thought the character style was really unique, and the voiceover and music set a really nice vibe. Great job!
Very... unique? I enjoyed it though. Funny take on the theme - high marks for humor. This isn't the type of game that I'm good at but it had some charm to it. Good work
Wow I really liked this! Credit for the interesting take on the theme. Reminds me a little of my own submission for this LD. It was a little too dark and I did miss the notes the first time around. Making it a little lighter would reduce the strain on the eyes for sure. Good work!
Nice entry! I love the drawn art style. Yes the difficulty was too high but I know you realized that. The collisions needed some tuning - I would overlap with the sharks at times and not get hurt. Otherwise great job!
Simple and clean, really well done! Almost too clean - I agree that there could've been more content. More of a backstory would've helped with that as well. But for a small scope the game is really beautiful! Good job!
Nice game! I loved the mood and the art style. The gameplay felt too difficult - if you could toy with the balance a bit that would help a lot. I couldn't get through the third level with the walls of meteors. This game has a lot of potential though! Great work!
It took me a while to figure out but I had a lot of fun once I did! I love strategy games like this one. Good job simulating a system that complex. At times it maybe seemed to be too much of a "clicker" - I would have liked different buttons to put down different numbers of troops. It didn't matter in the end because I still won :) great job!
