Great entry, really liked it :)
Models were great environment was neat! Lots to pick up from the controls screen xD but it was a good experience. A nice tutorial would go a long way with this game
Running Windows 10, got an error: "The program can't start because XAPOFX1_5.dll is missing from your computer." Not sure if that's an issue on my end or yours. Your game looks really nice though, I wish I could play it.
Nice game. I really appreciate that you put in a god-mode - the scenery was really lovely and I enjoyed just exploring. Great job!
The controls are a bit weird. I think you smoothed the mouse movements somehow but that made it harder and more frustrating to control the camera. A "mouse sensitivity" option would have helped, but I think you shouldn't do the "smoothing". Also, the game was already playing while I was at the help screen, so I had to read it all and reload the game so I wouldn't die reading the controls. :P
For some reason, some of the trees I collect can't be planted. I have no idea why. Also, some of the trees have no fruid at all. I don't know if that was intentional. The control screen let me believe I should harvest the plants and then eat them, but I shouldn't harvest the plant to eat it: I just stand in front of the plant and press the button to eat it. At last, the mouse isn't being released at the "game over" screen, so I had to Alt+Tab to release the mouse and close the game.
Anyway, interesting concept! I think it lacks a little motivation to keep the player going, but with some goals or milestones it could be fun. Good luck with it! :)
@joe-cowman try running the prerequisites installer under **Engine/Extras/Redist/en-us/UE4PrereqSetup.msi** - let me know if that works!
Great use of the theme. The BGM really helps the survival mood. I think there should be some way to eat what is in your hand; I ultimately died by accidentally harvesting when I should have eaten. Overall, great job!
There's no mac support? Aww...
@studiocraftapps-developpement Apologies! Compiling UE4 for macOS requires a mac computer itself and none of the team have one! Perhaps in the future it'll happen or Epic will add a cross-compiler to the windows/linux editors.
Surprisingly eerie, cool mood and looks. Not that much to do but all in all pretty good :)
Visuals are ace, interesting concept! :)
I couldn't find out how to get more oxygen, so I just starved to death :/ Very pretty and atmospheric game though! I like having the ability to plant more food for later, that was a very nice touch. The graphics were clean and quite good for being so simple.
Nice visuals. Good mood and atmosphere. Had fun running around the world picking up plants and replanting them. Nice particle effects on bursting the water bubbles too that was nice.
There's a slight delay on the jump that I wish wasn't there. That's a small criticism.
Loved that I was able to move around a small world. Good interpretation of the theme.
I'd like to second the comment that a tutorial would really be helpful. Planting a nice little farm was fun but I never figured out how to get more oxygen. There is a lot to take in on the controls page but eventually I sort of worked out how to play.
That's a beautiful game. The graphics and sfx are clean and sober which creates a strange-but-cool atmosphere.
Pretty graphics! I found the music to be really stressful, it really gave a "survive" vibe. I have to admit I couldn't focus well on reading the help menu when the music was basically telling me I was going to die in a few seconds. I would have personally appreciated it if bringing up the help menu paused the game. The controls were a bit finicky, with the jump having a weird feel and my character sometimes getting blocked when walking into plants. For some reason, some crops couldn't be planted and some plants couldn't be harvested. I also didn't understand how to get oxygen and I eventually died because of that. There's also a bug when you die: you can press Escape and still play the game for a second, then the "you died" menu appears again, then you can press Escape again, etc. I'm criticizing a lot but that's in hope you fix these little things, because the game was a nice experience and I'd love to play an updated version of it! The god mode was a great touch too, keep up the good work!
Pretty good game. It is fun to play which is the most important thing about game and it looks good.
Sadly my old computer had a hard time handling this game (it probably was around 1-3fps). But from what I've seen from the few minutes I tried to play it looks quite nice. I did notice the text was cut off on either side so I couldn't read the text completely.
Kind of chill survival game. I enjoyed building my own little farm. The only recommendation that I have is that it could maybe have been made clearer that you get different resources from different plants, so I agree with as some others have mentioned, that a tutorial of some kind would have been nice. The sound is very interesting and different and ads to the feeling of being on an alien planet. Good job!
Nice Game! I like the mood.
Interesting game! I was doing ok on health, harvesting and water, but I couldn't work out how to get more oxygen, so I died... Liked the graphics and eerie music as well.
Thanks a lot for sharing, well done!
Survival game! I don't know why, I didn't fins Oxygen in the two first game. But then, There were every were! Yeah!!! It's a nice game, but the concept is a bit limited. You just have to plant max of food, water and oxygen at one point and that's all. But the game is well done, audio relaxing and Thank you!!! Is very cool to play with a controller!
Great mood and gorgeous, stylized graphics. The whole thing reminded me a little of "Mirror Moon EP". I played this with mouse/keyb and two things were driving me nuts: First, the overly smoothed mouse behavior made me quit the game because that got me sea-sick pretty fast. The other was that the jump get triggered on key-up, not on key-down. I just wished there was a bit more to it than just carrying crops around and watching bars slowly expire, like some kind of mechanics-feedback for the player's condition, e.g. slower movement when hunrgy, blurry(er) view when running out of oxygen, etc.
I really like the mood, the sound is kind of eerie and the visuals are interesting. I wasn't really sure what to do - i could harvest and plant, but what for? What was the difference between plants? In any case a beautiful entry, nice work!
Definitely an interesting game. I found it a little difficult to understand however what plants related to which attribute. I eventually ran out of oxygen, I don't think I ever found anything to refill my oxygen at all. Great looking game though.
Really great looking game for just a weekends work. Audio's also great. Gameplay is interesting to get the hang of. If i could give one suggestion, it would be to display the controls as little hints when looking at one of the plants/trees etc instead of listing them. It would just make the learning part of the game a bit shorter.
Again, well done, this is great.
I really like the game, good work. I realized that when you starve, you can simply press escape and the game runs on.
I tried several times to survive lack of oxygen, while I failed every times. I reviewed almost all comments above, without seeing developers explain it.
Although, a pretty survival game indeed.
Really like the ominous music and the really clean low poly art style.
Thanks for all the feedback guys - I'm surprised that people aren't finding the oxygen plant - the random initial plant spawner might be unluckily not making any of them so I might alter it so it gives a rough split between them on game start. I'll look into the other minor bugs too.
Thanks for the feedback on the lack of a tutorial / the text being overload - I totally agree! To be honest it was all I could manage in the time we were given but in the next game we make we'll be sure to incorporate that sort of stuff as we go along!
Great graphic and audio. The oxygen flower and lonely atmosphere reminds me of No man's sky and Astronteer. Great work!
画面和氛围很棒,氧气花和孤独的气氛让我联想到了无人深空和异星探险家。
Nice graphics and great atmosphere!
A lot of confusing labels on screen at start, depressing music, even after a few tries a haven't fidured out how to find water %) sorry guys, it's beautiful but... It is the most frustrating expirience from this LD.
Graphics are gorgeous, theme fits 100%. I find the UI/mechanics could be simplified a bit - making eating/harvesting context sensitive would be one example, *not* listing all movement options (since they're typical FPP fare) is another.
Also, props for the giant flaming stone head!
