LD19 — Discovery

Impatient Archaeologist by Hellfang 2010-12-22T17:27:00

Echo audio comments. It's a little too easy as well. However I found it to be very fun and the destructible levels were cool. The game could benefit from pickups to change your weaponry and different dinosaurs to avoid but it is a really solid game. Nice one!

Q-Bers by recursor 2010-12-22T19:14:00

Wow was not expecting that. Nice idea and very well presented. Difficult spike is definitely there though... I was so close on number 16. Loved the voice over when you fail though - top notch!

Life on other planets by AbelToy 2010-12-22T18:13:00

I liked your game a lot. It's missing a goal or win condition and obviously audio. The enemies are really hard to kill and too fast considering the speed you move when you are firing. Apart from these things it's a perfectly solid game. Your control system is pretty awesome too.

Prophecy by PaulSB 2010-12-22T16:55:00

I enjoyed the game. It's the most different I've played so far. It definitely could have used music to speed things a long. Some customization on the warrior's appearances would have been nice as well although I know that is a very tall order in 48 hours.

The concept was interesting however whether you win or not seems to be down to luck as much as it is to skill, especially with the 5 turn time limit. Also having some sort of animation for an end cutscene would have been nicer than text but that's another nitpick.

Prophecy by PaulSB 2010-12-22T16:57:00

Oh yes I forgot to mention. Even if you don't change the interface please allow us to scroll the people by holding down the arrow keys instead of having to press the key all the time over and over. <3

Solaris Prospectus by varun 2010-12-22T18:02:00

I found it interesting however you can win by just holding down the button and circling until you find everything. The enemies seem a little eager and you can get swamped very easily. The audio is pretty bad. It was really boring to listen to after a couple of repetitions. The graphics are also kinda weird, I didn't expect the stars to travel with you as you moved.

Not bad but needs more of a hook.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-20T00:08:00

Thank you very much Kory ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-20T10:18:00

Thank you Elegwa ^^

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-20T12:56:00

@Draknek. S and R need to be bought first, I'll make that clearer in the instructions.

Quests: I didn't have time for as stated at the bottom of the website page.

Enemies too fast? I didn't think they were but maybe my computer was running slowly? :D

Thank you for the feedback.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-22T17:07:00

@pythong and Endurion and huhwhozat: I am planning to update the arrows substantially in a later release. I like the idea of a radar or minimap but I worry that it will take up too much of the screen and still be too small to have meaning.

@Squax: Thank you for the compliments. I'll have a think about using a previous type of motion for the enemies - it was a lot more "floaty" and could possibly be what you would like.

@stevejohnson: DISCOVERY!!! XD No really, half the game is kinda missing from this. I am going to have a plot line holding it all together in the end.

@r4m0n: Thank you for that point about the combat. I'm not sure how to make it more interesting besides adding in bombs and different weaponry and the like however.

@ranklar: Thank you for the compliments I'm glad you enjoyed the game ^^.

@huhwhozat: I did try to make it so the spawn points would vary in range so some would come from off the screen whilst others would jump you close to your ship. Perhaps you were just getting more of the later. I am surprised however that you found understanding the mining though. I thought that the instructions were clear enough. I shall look at them again and re-write them if needed.

Thank you for all the feedback, good and bad. It helps me make a better version of this game after the competition.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-22T21:37:00

http://sarah.draknek.org/Games/CompactDiscovery/MostRecent/

I will be using this link to host the newest versions of Compact Discovery until the end of the competition judging. After that I’ll be merging the original LD submission with the newer copy.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-23T16:47:00

Thank you k_wright for the feedback. You are right, the combat would be greatly improved by having a way to reverse at the same time. I'm not sure why I chose mouse input as a control scheme, perhaps no reason at all. I intend to experiment with the controls a lot and perhaps change it to arrow keys instead.

Compact Discovery by Starspell 2010-12-28T15:16:00

@badlydrawnrod Thank you for the kind comment.

@Jerm I will address the combat and speed of the enemies asap for you. Thank you for the positive feedback as well.

Where am I? by Benn 2010-12-21T20:53:00

Man I've got a smile on my face from that game! I really enjoyed it. The audio is just right to be a signal that you've gone the wrong way and not be annoying at the same time. I enjoyed that the sounds were "spoken" in the levels as well. In fact I started thinking those words when I crashed into the appropriate walls.

I'm not sure what I would change. I did think a clear goal to go towards... but in hindsight I actually think it's better without that.

I also loved the end XD

Disco? Very! by Tom 7 2010-12-22T17:39:00

Great idea for the theme. The music is really very good. The controls are a little bit floaty and there are bugs in the LD Compeititon version to be sure. But I really enjoyed this game - especially the end boss. Well done! XD

Disco? Very! by Tom 7 2010-12-22T17:42:00

Oh btw I would occasionally get stuck to the floor after jumping up or down to the room above or below. I don't think that's been mentioned from the posts above.

Get Out by dsv101 2010-12-22T19:32:00

The graphics, music and floaty/lack of friction controls are not brilliant in this game. I enjoyed that you put in wall jumping however.

...You Are A Duck! by KoryWazHere 2010-12-22T19:19:00

Ok so you are a duck... ++
You made it in 3D... ++
Discovery? ummm....

XD I liked that game it was cute and it actually ran on my piece of crap laptop which is unusual. However I really couldn't get it to do what I wanted. I don't know whether it was because it was lagging on my end but I could never get the duck lined up how I wanted.

Attack of the time travelling pygmy from outer paleolithic (aka Time Pygmy) by deepnight 2010-12-21T20:43:00

I really liked the game. The graphics are really nice and the animations are smooth. The audio is very nice as well - putting in the raindrops for example was a nice touch. However whilst there is re-playability in the achievements it would have been nice with more areas to explore and more items to use (but I guess that just goes along with the game type).

Cardboard adventure by bmfs 2010-12-20T17:40:00

The graphics are lovely. I liked the running motion of the stick man. However that sound effect from the rocket really doesn't loop well. I found it amusing though ^^

Let's Science by Hazel 2010-12-20T17:58:00

Oh no! The text isn't rendering on my computer!! >< Black boxes away!

Here Be Monsters! by ethankennerly 2010-12-20T19:03:00

I really enjoyed the game - enough to get to 77%. The game needs sound and music. However, most importantly, it needs a button to toggle on an overlay of the map you are making. I can only imagine that if you were stuck at 99% and only were missing a few square somewhere in the map that I'd be too frustrated to find them.

DISCovery by bmcgames 2010-12-21T20:25:00

Congratulations on your first LD (same as me). I liked that you took the theme in a different direction and the core of the gameplay is interesting. However whilst it's a nice implementation of a game it's certainly not an original idea ^^;.

Liked the audio for what it was however ^^.

The Dreamer by johnfn 2010-12-22T19:01:00

I really loved this game. I had played something very similar on Kongregate not too long ago with the same kinda of basic mechanic minus the shift key. I really enjoyed this game although I was annoyed that I couldn't find where the last guy was hiding.

Ghosts and Gemstones by _wdh 2010-12-22T17:18:00

Wow I really liked playing this. I got really tense during the first few levels and then the boss hit and I was just running around trying to shot it for a while before I realised what I actually had to do. I think this game has a great concept and it was executed very well. The only thing it is really missing is music.

Code Monkey Trials by Rolith 2010-12-22T19:41:00

I actually disagree with the others. I thought the tutorial message boards were good - but the levels that the tutorials were in to be too easy and boring. It felt weird learning a new thing and just reading text so that could just light one square up.

I did like the set pieces - especially the gravel.

Terra Nova by BadgerPriest 2010-12-20T17:55:00

I enjoyed it quite a lot. Bit of a horrific moment when I got to the pole and realised exactly why you needed the markers.

Needless to say we all died... a lot. The controls are a little strange. Why does pressing Up move you Right on the screen?

However I really liked this and I'm sure it took awhile to get it to this point. Well done!

Discover19 by Suyo 2010-12-20T18:10:00

I liked the game a lot - especially the way the music gets more complicated as you do better. The little intro was nice.

However jumping on the jump pads is almost impossible and I was annoyed by the game respawning me directly into the path of an unavoidable block.

Land of the Fishies by EricTheCoolDude 2010-12-20T17:47:00

I liked the graphics, music and the crazy dialogue. Slight error when you click on one creature to talk to and then straight to another in that the text from the previous one doesn't go away.

Look forward to seeing more!

Wysp by Sythiri 2010-12-22T18:08:00

Congratulations on making your first game for the competition. The physics are well done for 48 hours but there isn't much to say about the game in general beside that. I suggest using a library to help you with the core of the mechanics next time. Then you can concentrate on the game aspect of the game.

SPACEMEAT DISCOVERY by AMT 2010-12-21T20:15:00

I kept on playing this game. It's just great. I managed to get Legendary Explosion and a x9 combo and felt great.

The graphics are really good and I liked the audio a lot as well. I especially liked the generated names of the planets and how nothing stays in the same place. Awesome stuff!

It's A Frickin' CAVE by Hempuli 2010-12-22T19:25:00

I like this game a lot. It would be more atmospheric with music however and I would have liked (instead of invincibility at the beginning) to just not have enemies spawned near me at the beginning.

The player sprite is really well made and the enemies have a good variety to them.

Mother Robot by increpare 2010-12-22T17:54:00

Wow this is a really challenging game! I loved the level design and the puzzles. The graphics are alright and the audio is pretty cool. Not sure now I would connect it to the theme but the gameplay makes up for that. XD

Mother Robot by increpare 2010-12-22T23:13:00

I forgot to reiterate what others have already said change the jump button to the Up key please!! C is a really bad choice as that part of the keyboard should only be used for controlling the beam, not movement in general.

Ominous by gsw 2010-12-20T18:15:00

Like the concept however the fade out time is way too fast or shouldn't be there at all and some of the levels are broken (got to level 4 and blank screen).

Light Source by flashkick 2010-12-22T16:36:00

More instructions would be nice i.e. that the burners replenish your light source.

The audio was really annoying and the controls are very flaky. You keep on moving after releasing the button and that combined with strange level design means that you hits walls which you knew were there. I expect this was supposed to be a grid like game put the levels and movement really don' reflect that.

As a game concept I think it's a nice idea however I don't think this execution is right. I also second everyone else saying that the last burner/battery you get to should be your next spawn point - especially since you don't know which way is the correct direction.

Dinosaur Dance-Off by Draknek 2010-12-20T17:36:00

Very funny and a really nice game to play around with. Needs an in-game code input to dance off against other dinos and a reload button of some sort so you don't need to refresh the page all the time.

Also where is the dino head I was promised? A good update would be to have different types of bones in the ones that are dropped. Not just normal bones but curved bones, pelvises, skulls, hands and feet. Then it would look totally crazy!

LD25 — You are the Villain

Le Chasseur by Quarry 2012-12-17T18:19:00

Unfortunately I the game won't run if I double click on it. I've tried to run it from command line and I get an error:

org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated

I'll try it again later on a different computer

Doctor Spandex by Cássio Eduardo 2012-12-19T12:15:00

Took me a while to get working because the text on the main menu doesn't render on my computer for some reason ^^;

The graphics are fantastic and the audio is good too. However the gameplay is somewhat frustrating. Melee is impossible and I wish there was a way of turning off the alarm - I didn't see one.

Pretty a pretty accomplished game overall!

Horrible Horace by berkano 2012-12-18T19:41:00

I get a Pixel format not accelerated error on the web version. And from the windows version I get an UnsatisfiedLinkError in the loadLibrary function.

I'll try again later on a different computer

Obamapology by SuperDisk 2012-12-19T12:01:00

That's the funniest game I've played this competition. Made me smile from ear to ear.

Of course there are gameplay issues - the collision detection is quite bad in places.

I don't care though. It's really good fun.

Spread by mailman105 2012-12-18T22:15:00

I'm getting a Pixel not Accelerated error. Probably my computer. I'll try this on another computer later on. Looking forward to trying this one!

TAKEOVER by ahm99 2012-12-18T20:05:00

It's a shame you didn't get around to finishing your idea - it could have been really interesting. Unfortunately as the game is it's not really a game, the graphics aren't brilliant and there is no audio.

I'd like to see where you would take this idea after the competition though.

Dracula's Treasure by 01010111 2012-12-18T11:21:00

That's a really cute game. I love the idea of it - even though I think it's pretty much impossible to beat (which is fine). The graphics are great and the audio is awesome.

The only thing that bugged me was that jumping and falling was a little too floaty for me - but that's just a nit-pick.

Fantastic stuff!

Revenge Bear by dek 2012-12-19T11:52:00

I try to run the game but nothing seems to be happening. I'll try again on a different computer later on.

Hunt by someone 2012-12-17T19:45:00

Tangential comment: Cheers for teaching me the word "prevaricating" :D

Hunt by someone 2012-12-17T20:00:00

I'm amazed you got this much done in 48 hours. The graphics are really good but caused some problems. It's very difficult to select a tile behind another character.

I don't know whether some classes are more powerful than others or are better at attacking other classes. It would need explaining if there was.

I managed to almost kill all of them. Two were left at full health and two were running away from being almost dead.

Could also do with better audio to tie the game together, but very impressive!

This Is How It Ends by Ted Brown 2012-12-19T15:29:00

Interesting take on the theme and always good to see a narrative-driven game like this. Not my kettle of fish really but still interesting.

You Are The Ghost Beta by boxerbomb 2012-12-17T19:46:00

I seem to only get a grey box loading up. I don't even get to something like an opening I'm afraid. I'll try again later on a different computer.

The Twist by amassingham 2012-12-19T12:05:00

What a cute little game ^^ I like this interpretation of the theme.

I found the circling mechanic hard to use at times - especially with larger circles. But on the whole it's a solid fun little game.

Metal Minions by Elemental Zeal Games Studios 2012-12-22T23:59:00

Doesn't look like my computer can run this. I'll try a different computer when I can.

Dig for Me by Logan 2012-12-23T00:13:00

That's an amazing game. I love the graphics and the gameplay and the idea in general. It's such a shame you did add sound to it. It would have been even better.

Fantastic game though.

The Unforgiven Wanderers by AlexFili 2012-12-17T19:19:00

I'm having the same problems as the others running it. Will try on another computer later on.

Code Thief by Zelen3d 2012-12-22T22:48:00

That's a really cool idea. It's actually I pretty fun mechanic. It's a shame you couldn't develop it further.

Escape by mokujin 2012-12-17T13:04:00

Tried to run the windows version. After installing .net 4.5 I tried to run it and it crashed with this error:

TypeInitialisationError for OpenTK.Audio.AudioContent

The Adventures of Tim Burr by Josh Riley 2012-12-18T22:36:00

What a nice sweet game. The game is lovely and a great idea. The graphics are lovely and the controls are fine.

The only problem I had with the game was the caught audio. It burns the ears! :D

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-18T17:00:00

Can't play on Linux I'm afraid. Will check back later to see if there is a port.

The Torture Chamber by fr_automatik 2012-12-22T23:23:00

Not a game in the traditional sense but tonnes of fun. It's a shame it didn't have more/better audio but everything else was very nice indeed. Well done for getting that out in 48 hours.

Troll Bridge by donmilham 2012-12-17T10:34:00

I liked the art style a lot! However there always seemed to be a delay between my key presses and the actions. The kick is really slow, but that wouldn't be a problem if the kick could hurt the animals throughout the motion.

Besides that little nick pick it was a pretty solid game. I liked the fact that you could fall off, it made me very nervous about going near that edge.

28 Kills ^^

Swag by feltip 2012-12-17T11:41:00

Unfortunately my computer can't seem to play this game. Will try on another one later.

Angry Purple Monster by ramoncb 2012-12-18T22:46:00

Unfortunately I can't run this game fast enough on this computer to play it correctly. I'm going to look forward to playing this on a different computer when I get the chance.

Killer Crusade by Loginaut 2012-12-18T17:08:00

I don't seem to be able to play this. I get nothing when I click on the file. When I run it from command line I get this error:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError : coreLogic/Driver : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

Will try again to play on a different computer later in the week.

PsyGoat by SecondDimension 2012-12-19T11:41:00

For some reason using the laser eyes crashed my computer ^^; . I'll have another go on a different computer when I get the chance.

The rich get richer by Prealpha 2012-12-18T13:09:00

I like the idea behind this game. And it's certainly unique - haven't seen another stock exchange game this LD yet.

However I'm not sure how you are supposed to be able to win. You never seem to get any money back from your investments which means you can't buy more.

Interesting idea but you might want to explain it a bit more.

Loan Shark by Skiddings 2012-12-22T23:27:00

Unfortunately the game crashed for me. I'll try it again on a different computer.

TEK45 by JakeAnstey 2012-12-17T20:35:00

Unfortunately I can't play this game at all. A unreadable message box appears and then it crashes. Will try again on a different computer later.

Demons in Dungeons by blay09 2012-12-17T11:49:00

Nice idea for a game. I'm so glad that you put in some instructions. But those instruction only tell you a little about what you need to know. It doesn't tell you how to build, how to move your bugs, what the different people do or what the different parts of the interface mean.

I like how you've put the game together however. The humans move, for the most part, in a sensible fashion and the graphics are ok. It's just playing it that's very difficult ^^;

Zombie Tower Defence by Julgodis 2012-12-18T20:10:00

I tried to run the game but it immediately crashed. I'll try again later on another computer.

Twisted Minion by Justin Kibbe 2012-12-18T19:47:00

I kinda see what you were going for but this game really needs some polish. Basic graphics are fine but everything is grey and so is the floor.

Decommissioner by Crowbeak 2012-12-19T15:48:00

The story was quite interesting. However I'm not sure that the player counts as a villain in my eyes, the people that you meet in the second part of the story are much more the villains.

And I'm not sure that they would really put you to work - rather they might as well just kill you.

Interesting concept, well executed.

Second Skin by MrAmazingSocks 2012-12-17T19:41:00

Really liked the ideas in this game. It could really do with better graphics - it was hard to know where your main power could reach to.

That aside the skinning power was great and the powers you had besides that were great to. A very ambitious game to make in 48 hours though.

Silent night by krutech 2012-12-22T23:30:00

Unfortunately the game crashes when I try to run it. I'll try again on another computer when I get the chance.

ECHO CHAMBER by Loren 2012-12-19T16:29:00

Very interesting concept. I like the audio and graphical style. However I think the game would have been stronger with a greater challenge and with an overarching goal in mind.

I was playing for a long time and didn't get damaged once.

Necrusio and his Machine by agumaster 2012-12-17T19:12:00

I like the idea of it and for the most part is executed really nicely. The music is pretty nice and the graphics are colourful.

My only two problems with the game are that you can't shoot in any direction - which would be fine but enemies can walk down towards you cutting you off. The second problem is that I kinda expected to get life back from getting the people into the machine. You really don't have enough health for the levels, especially once the green soldiers are there.

Overall a pretty cool little game.

Project Lightning by dark_hunter 2012-12-17T20:58:00

Really impressive idea and graphics. I love how much effort you put into it being cinematic.

However I feel the actual gameplay suffers from the key bindings. I've never seen attacks mapped to the Del and End buttons before - and since you don't know where these will be on all the keyboards the game might be played with I think it is a bad choice.

Additionally it would be much better if you could aim independently of your movement. It would make the game easier (I found it very difficult) and you would be able to aim more precisely.

Also I'm surprised that your shots can collide with the shots of others. In the boss room this meant I could barely get any hits off.

But overall a pretty interesting game. You should think about developing it further.

Micro Mob by chrismwaite 2012-12-17T21:20:00

I can't seem to run the game. When I double click the .bat file the cmd window opens up and slows down my computer a lot, but nothing seems to happen.

I'll try again on a different computer later on.

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-17T13:06:00

Aww thanks for all the great comments so far everyone! My best score right now is around 12000. If you get rid of all the currently blooming flowers the sun's power will decrease. I'll add that as a note.

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-17T19:42:00

Yeah I do really need a preloader. I've never made one before so it'll be fun to try. ^^

Thanks for the comments you two!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-18T10:01:00

@ Draknek: If you didn't see the change then it's likely that there were still some blooming flowers around. The level goes back to being dark and the music comes back so it's pretty obvious.

@ 01010111: Nice one, that's about as high as I can managed.

Thank you everyone for the great feedback and comments!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-18T19:52:00

@Justin that's strange. You shouldn't "download" anything. It's a play in browser game. And it certainly isn't pay to surf. Try clicking on it again or typing in sarah.draknek.org/Games/Troll into your browser.

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-18T22:17:00

Cheers guys! Fantastic comments.

Thanks for pointing out the ladders Schwiggy. I spent ages getting the ladders to collide nicely and help the player around the level. It's no fun losing because you got stuck ^^

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-19T09:34:00

Thanks everyone! It's great to read all of those comments. I'm so happy you like it!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-22T23:28:00

Cheers everyone ^^ I'm glad you are all enjoying it.

@fr_automatik after the competition I'll be working on this and adding a little bit more polish to it ^^ Clouds and/or birds are a must!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-22T23:42:00

Yeah I either thought, "I've got to go nasty and trollish to match the gameplay or catchy so you want it back when you stomp on all the flowers". I decided the second one was more desirable ^^

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2013-01-07T10:54:00

Cheers guys. Thanks for playing!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2013-01-08T08:39:00

Cheers everyone for playing and rating. Very happy to place at 142nd. Fantastic competition.

Managing Morder: The ground is always blacker on the other side. by Bensonance 2012-12-18T13:02:00

I agree, the font makes it impossible to read anything, especially when it is curved around the circles.

I'm not sure whether I was playing it right but I obviously screwed up when I decided to build tons of spawners and we very quickly ran out of food :D

The eye beam being the cursor made me smile, as did the rest of the game. Lovely idea.

Speedrun by jmk 2012-12-17T13:17:00

Not sure why but it seems to be running extremely slowly on my computer. As such I can't really play it correctly. But the sounds, the graphics and the game idea is really cool. Well done on your first entry!

Multigon: A story about an unloved mesh. by zompi 2012-12-17T21:13:00

Wow. Well that was different. Probably the most interesting concept I've seen today.

Drawing your own character is fantastic. And the idea behind the game, as a narrative story, is great.

Unfortunately there isn't any challenge to it, nor any real goal. I really had fun playing it though and I'm not sure how I would adapt it to make it more challenging to be honest.

Once again, great idea.

Hostile Nebula by SkyWolf 2012-12-17T10:52:00

The game looks quite nice and I really like the idea but has a number of flaws I think.

You really need some kind of introduction / tutorial explaining how everything works. I was expecting, when clicking on a grid, for the ships to appear exactly where I clicked so I could stage an attack better.

I would have also used number keys instead of letter for the hotkeys as they are more readable - the font you used is somewhat strange ^^

Not a bad game though at all!

Firepower! by cwilloughby 2012-12-22T23:38:00

That's a really interesting game. I love the mechanic!

I almost lasted 6 days. The audio is great and the graphics are fun. Nice little interpretation of the theme as well.

Well done!

Patient Zero by grouchotron 2012-12-18T13:14:00

I can't run this game either, but it does look interesting as a concept. Rather like Infectionator.

Quiet man by foksa 2012-12-17T11:39:00

First of all this game needs explanation in the form of a tutorial or just text either here or on the website.

I like the idea of playing a hitman and I think the gameplay is executed reasonably well. The sound is nice but the way the people peek out is good.

It would have been nice to have been told what the different people were at the beginning though. Well done for getting it completed!

The Dragon's Treasure by MALHCat 2012-12-17T19:34:00

As has been said before you really do need hotkeys for this. I also don't really see the need for the fireball. Yes it hits an areas but there is a massive delay in using it. In general I found that my clicks weren't always firing off the attacks even when I could use them.

But besides that it's a pretty solid game. I liked your graphics and the sounds. And I like that you took time to make the coin pile go down over time. A nice little game.

Cow Stealer by ParaPup 2012-12-17T10:58:00

Congratulations on your first game and well done for using Stencyl! Obviously it's going to be pretty basic for a first game but you did pretty well.

There doesn't seem to be an aim to the game however, there's no challenge as far as I've played. You would probably want to add different cow types that move, or fly or people to try and stop you stealing cows. A high score number would also make it more enjoyable.

I also don't see why you can move up and down - left and right seems to be all you need.

But great job getting it out!

You are Bankster! by Deril 2012-12-18T22:07:00

This isn't really a "game". It doesn't have a challenge if you are careful and there's no real sense of achievement.

Did you create the graphics yourself? Whilst very nice they don't really fit the theme which makes me wonder if they were made for the game or whether you made them and then put them into the game regardless of idea XD

The audio is annoying but kinda funny. Not a bad job overall I guess.

You are the Evil Overlord by Worse 2012-12-17T19:29:00

I really liked this game. It was a text adventure in style and the choices made me keep playing over and over. Whilst there were no explanations about the timers you pick it up really quickly when playing. I also liked that you had to only almost kill him and control your minions to run away at the right time.

Great stuff!

You're the Boss! by Claite 2012-12-22T23:12:00

I can't run it. It can't seem to find YoureTheBossGame file.

I'll try again later on a different computer.

Ninox the Nightbringer by Dining Philosopher 2012-12-18T21:58:00

I have never used pygame or python before so I'm not going to try to figure out how to run this ^^; .

I'll be back later to see if the files have been updated - sorry.

UREVIL ENDLESS TD! by Saisaith 2012-12-18T20:02:00

I agree that this isn't a very original idea but well-done for completing it. However a wave speed up button is really required for these games as waiting between waves with nothing to do is very boring.

The one thing I really loved was the rain - it was a great effect!

Dracula Super Goat Hunter by lur 2012-12-19T12:18:00

My anti-virus really didn't like your game whatsoever. I'll try it again later on a different computer.

Villain's base management by har_g 2012-12-19T16:17:00

It's a fine game but it really needed a load more polish - including a tutorial.

Die Block by patricklorio 2012-12-17T14:24:00

Wow I really liked this! The puzzles are interesting and the concept is quite unique. I had great fun on it.

My only nit-picks are that it could have done with more audio and that any level where you can fail within the first few seconds without action is rather unfair.

And that it doesn't have much to do with the theme - but who cares! Great little puzzle game.

the BRINK by radmars 2012-12-23T00:26:00

Beautiful game. Got a tad annoying in places with the hearts and walking near corners, felt a little clunky too - but these are all nit-picks.

Nicely done.

Space Breaker by Troyan 2012-12-17T20:34:00

Not really a game but still fun. The devil cat was enjoyable. ^^

Hubris of the Bone Lord by awppy 2012-12-22T23:50:00

Really nicely polished entry. It needed a health pick up, music and some kind of celebration at the end of the level. Otherwise it is top-notch!

The graphics are great, the level is put together really nicely and the gameplay is pretty good as well. It doesn't suffer from the side-scrolling beat-em-up syndrome of being slightly too high or low to hit.

Nice job.

Who stole christmas by StMatn 2012-12-18T21:39:00

I get a UnsupportedClassVersionError: gui/MainFrame error when I run the game. I'll try again later on a different computer.

A Night in Arkham by gty 2012-12-17T18:22:00

Your game says I need to download unity web player when I already have it. Additionally my anti-virus program didn't like your site. I'll try again later on a different machine.

Villain on a train by pinion 2012-12-18T22:40:00

What an interesting game. It's small but nice to play and kinda fun. That music at the beginning is really loud and very out of place. However the recorded choo-choo-choos were really lovely.

The gameplay was very nice but it would have been nice to have had a bigger end to look forwards to.

Not a bad game at all.

Kill Kong by shaneshanekavanagh 2012-12-22T22:45:00

This is the best use of unity I've seen yet. You've used it for a purpose rather than just "whey-hey 3D". The style of the game is great and I like the idea.

Gameplay wise, it's a little tedious and easy. I'd love to see what you would do with it with more time.

Minion Master by h8urf8 2012-12-18T12:52:00

If I try and click on the game to run it it doesn't work. I get an error when trying to play the game from command line.

ERROR:Pixel format not accelerated causing a LWJGLException.

I'll try running it again later on a different computer.

The Legacy by Swofl 2012-12-18T17:39:00

Not sure what to make of this one at all.

The atmosphere is really something and the graphics really draw you in. But I didn't find anything to interact with, I only could see trees, not people.

Splendorman by raubana 2012-12-18T18:45:00

I can't seem to run it. It gets to rendering fonts and then errors:

OpenGL.Error.NullFunctionError : undefined function glBlendFuncSeparate, check for bool(glBlendFuncSeparate) before calling

I'll try again later on another computer.

Scary Chicken by Joncom 2012-12-18T19:50:00

The graphics in this game are great. I love the animations and how bright it all is. The concept is also nice.

However the jump height needs to be higher and the audio is pretty horrible.

Corruption! Get out of my town! by maiev 2012-12-17T20:59:00

JASPrincess by dreamwalker 2012-12-18T16:58:00

Really interesting game. I loved how fast-paced it was. Nothing wrong with the game apart from the level generation. Some, in fact most, of the walls at the edges of the level did not meet the screen edge. This makes you think you can go through them when you can't. It's really frustrating to get caught out like that.

But a pretty fun game to play.

Zzard by Peping 2012-12-18T19:10:00

This is a great concept and I love the idea. Not really fitting directly with the theme - but who cares.

The graphics and audio are great. I can see you put in a load of work into the view paths and the wheels and instruments of the rover - it looks great.

My biggest problem with the game is that it's sooo slow paced. It would be fine as a default speed but really, you need a speed up button.

A day in the life of the Minotaur by jfroco 2012-12-19T13:49:00

The graphics and the audio for the game is pretty ok. It's good that it runs smoothly and I would be interested in seeing what you would do to take this game further.

However the premise of the game is kinda flawed as there's nothing you can do but wait for a good roll. I don't know whether the ship would have helped change that but there you go.

Goat Factory by nilstastic 2012-12-22T23:18:00

Unfortunately it crashed when the window started to appear. I'll try again later with a different computer.

Red Legion by DeathBySnail 2012-12-22T23:41:00

Unfortunately the game crashed when I tried to run it (Windows). I'll try again on another computer later.

Noble Weapon by Meep 2012-12-19T11:50:00

I love the concept of this game and I think it's pretty well executed.

I don't like the audio, it was pretty harsh on the ears. However the graphics are nice.

It's a shame you didn't have time to extend the idea further as I think it could have been turned into something amazing.

For the gameplay the only problem with what you have is the lingering powers (like the tornado) killing princesses.

Not bad overall though.

Dungeon Mastermind by 7Soul 2012-12-18T21:55:00

Really unique idea, executed very nicely.

The only problems that I have with it is the interface - which is very slow and a lack of tutorial.

I did also have a graphical glitch where all the interface seemed to be replaced by mangled sprite sheets - but I expect that's just my computer.

Fantastic entry.

Evil Monkey by laaph 2012-12-19T12:06:00

Looks like an interesting game. Too bad there isn't a windows port.

Stubbs & Staircase by Schwiggy 2012-12-18T22:24:00

I can't seem to get this game working. I get past the cutscene and the first level starts, but then I just see two clouds and nothing seems to happen. Any ideas?

Grand Wreck Auto by naufr4g0 2012-12-18T17:28:00

The game doesn't work for me and I have the redistributable installed (as far as I know). Additionally trying to install the redistributable I got an error on that.

Will try to play it again later on on a different computer.

Welcome to my dungeon by Scrapworks 2012-12-18T18:53:00

I really interesting game. I like the concept a lot and the graphics are fantastic. The audio is good too.

It's a little slow though and it was frustrating that you can only fire that fast. I also got stuck a couple of times which was annoying.

I love the random power-up mechanic - it was probably my favourite part of the game ^^

Neutral Balance by koller-digital 2012-12-17T10:39:00

Unfortunately with my laptop being a load of fail I can't run this game :_:

Liar's Lair by madmaw 2012-12-17T11:10:00

Looking forward to having a go at this later. However I'm probably going to write them out instead of printing them. I would print them if there was an image containing all the images in a batch ready for printing. I can only find the basic cards.

Also yay! more physical games for LD please!

The Banker by qualia 2012-12-22T23:08:00

The more you have on screen i.e. the more you render and draw the slower you move. You really need to optimize that ^^;

The game is kinda tedious but I managed to get to the end. Not a bad idea.

Evil Chopper by Per 2012-12-19T16:02:00

I wasn't able to play it because it just showed up as a white screen. I'll try again on a different computer when I get the chance.

Escape From Prison Planet by gameXcore 2012-12-17T11:02:00

Unfortunately when I try to run this game, either through setup or the application it crashes and says that it has stopped working. No error messages I'm afraid.

Acidman by Stavu 2012-12-18T19:23:00

Doesn't fit the theme but that doesn't matter much to me. I love this game. The premise is fantastic and I love the graphics. The backgrounds are beautiful.

Unfortunately the game seems to run extremely slow for me and the lack of audio, beyond the acid, is a bit of a let down.

Splatter by Tsuk13 2012-12-18T19:27:00

I get a Pixel not accelerated error when I try to play this one. I'll try again on another computer later.

Legacy of Hamelin by Draknek 2012-12-17T14:33:00

Really cool concept Draknek. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing for the first few bits of the game. The idea that you move the rats into the houses/block, then the major tells you to drown them, then you steal the children because you aren't paid is fantastic.

The puzzles are fun too although there are lots of ways to solve them and it's not too challenging.

The graphics are awesome and I like the audio being your movement.

Considering you only had 14 hours this is great!

Deadland by yokcos700 2012-12-17T20:29:00

Best game I've played yet this competition. The graphics are nice (although animating the monster would have been great).

The gameplay itself - just wow! You had so many ideas and you actually managed to execute them all. The level design was good as well and I was surprised how many levels you managed to do.

The only big problem with the game is the lack of meaningful audio. It's such a shame because this could have been an amazing game.

You should definitely work on this game and try to extend it after the competition.

Hero Must Die by CireNeikual 2012-12-19T16:07:00

Unfortunately I get a black screen as well. Shame because I've worked with NNs before and I'm really interested in how you used them in this game.

I'll try again on a different computer when I can.

Dig-Dug Dungeon by bigbadwofl 2012-12-19T12:44:00

I really interesting little game. The mechanics are really interesting and spent a lot of time playing this.

The music you made is quite nice after you get used to it. And I liked how you represented what was going on in the game.

Not bad at all. Only thing I would have added was the ability to kill your minions - you are death after all.

Shorty & The Big Deal 2600 by Suese 2012-12-18T16:48:00

It took me a long time to work out that x for y actually meant you got what was on the left for what was on the right as payment. To me I instinctively took it the other way.

Man the audio was really painful! I know you were trying to emulate the Atari 2600, but perhaps that was a bad thing to try and emulate!

The idea behind the game is an interesting one - especially if you could have linked it to how much of the city you "owned" etc. But it is really hard to remember where anything is and not too rewarding to explore as you are usually only searching for one item.

The graphics were the best part of this by far. I loved the background and the sky.

Plebs vs. Mobs by Kurt 2012-12-17T20:49:00

This game isn't particularly well explained. I never found the house with the heart and the health bar, I did get really confused about the different people. For the first few runs I couldn't tell who was on my side. And even when I could I didn't really know what I should be doing.

The graphics in the game are quite nice however.

HenchManager by Maato 2012-12-18T19:37:00

Nice concept but way too easy. I just got everyone in the building together and sat them all in front of the closest outside door and gunned anything down that came in.

The graphics and sounds were pretty nice but it was all a little bit too slow-paced.

Oh and a couple of times my guys got confused about going through a door and got stuck on the walls.

But you should definitely take this and polish it up some more, it could turn out really nice!

Unhappy Holidays! by GeorgeBroussard 2012-12-22T22:55:00

Pretty nice game. The graphics are great as are the particles. The gameplay is pretty good. The audio could be better.

Unfortunately there is a bug in the game. I finished the first level invunerable. After that I never took damage again.

Bad Ufo by dsoft20 2012-12-18T19:19:00

Quite an interesting game. I liked the concept a lot and it was pretty good fun to play. Unfortunately I used up all my cow juice early on and got shot down.

I love the graphics and I kinda like that the explosion almost becomes a balloon and flies away.

ANONHACK.EXE by BarrensZeppelin 2012-12-17T11:36:00

Kinda impossible to play with collision problems that bad. A great additions would be checkpoints. The animations on the character were something, but the game in general is not particular good to play. It also crashed on me a lot as the collision resolution threw me out of the level ^^;

I would have loved to have seen how the game would have developed.

Home Massacre by aeveis 2012-12-18T22:30:00

This game gave me a really big smile. Whilst it's not really a game as such it is really fun.

The graphics and animations are the best I've seen in the competition - bar none.

The audio is great too. The controls are a bit floaty but that's really a nit-pick.

The only problem is that it's too short!

Poacher by kulhajs 2012-12-17T10:45:00

When I download and run Setup or the game application I get an error:
Unhandled Exception: System.DllNotFoundException Unable to load DLL 'open32.dll'

Baboom:The Villain by celsyum 2012-12-17T11:30:00

Nice idea for a game. However buying upgrades doesn't really help you past the first buy - you still move about the same speed and for the same length of time. Keeping your mouth open doesn't give you a very big boost to your speed, not enough to really make picking up anything worth it.

Some of the people and goats spawn could never be picked up which was confusing and occasionally everything would some rendering for a time.

I did however like the monster's animation and the buildings. Shame that people didn't fall out of buildings when they got damaged.

The Day Before Monkeymass by Lashiz121 2012-12-18T16:34:00

I don't think my laptop can handle this. It crashed as soon as I clicked Start Game. I'll try it again later on on a different computer.

LD26 — Minimalism

Unknown by runonthespot 2013-05-01T19:26:00

Really innovative game. I love the idea behind it (although I'm not very good at it). Managed to get down to 45 and my boyfriend got down to 35 or so. Makes me want to try more. The only thing I would change would be to add a little bit of sound and to make the balls that are clickable highlighted very gently.

Dark Black by Purplescape 2013-05-01T19:43:00

A pretty long and content filled game for a LD. The graphics were great and the music was pretty good. Overall it was a pretty good game. I was expecting an explosion at the end though.

Way Home by CAukamp 2013-04-30T21:24:00

Best game that I've played thus far. I was in stitches every time I fell off. The idea of changing the gravity is great - love it! I think the camera could be in a better place, perhaps a little higher? Nice a smooth, interesting if silly physics. Nice one.

Zenboy by feyleaf 2013-04-30T20:39:00

I like the idea of the game but it's not executed particularly well - there doesn't seem to be much reason to have the water and the sand is only a little bit useful. There are a few collision bugs and the game is kinda boring. However I like the character designs - particularly the images when you get hurt and well done for making your own audio.

Don't paint me, I'm busy by Wish I Was an Astronaut 2013-04-30T20:55:00

Music is great. The humour is fun as well. The game play and graphics are pretty good as well. The lowest level of enemy probably should have less health as they take forever to go down. I liked the introduction of other enemies throughout. Could have done with a little more variety. Nice job!

Mini Malice by Yann 2013-04-30T21:17:00

The game lagged like crazy for me and only seemed to update whenever I gave input to it. But that's most likely my computer's problem. Despite that I really enjoyed this game. I was searching for my own game when I found this one (the names almost identical). I like the premise and the sounds and the animations. Got a little repetitive but still nice to look at. Got caught under the physic blocks /a lot/.

RGBism by Hyaku 2013-04-30T21:00:00

As others have said the sound volume needed leveling. Other than that this is an interesting game. Took me a while to figure out what was going on but I like the idea of this game and the way it's presented.

Ant Commander by kernel panic 2013-04-30T20:34:00

A really interesting take on the theme. It's obvious that a lot of work went into this. I really liked how it was presented but it would have been nice to have some definitive goal to drive you. Would have been nice to have WASD key control as well as Arrow Keys for better two handed play.

The Super Fair Trial Show by Gabriel 2013-08-28T15:12:00

I have a feeling that this is because my computer is awful but I have a strange problem: http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/8925/occl.png This image is rendered on top of the screen and I can't seem to get rid of it. I also get a bit of text drifting down every so often which reads "text". :D

The game lags a little on my laptop and I've had graphical problem before on this laptop so it is probably my end.

Thanks for the request for the creative mode on 10 Second Happy Rocket. The mode is live now from the game's page. ^^ Thought I'd let you know.

Chrono Switch by dlan 2013-08-28T17:44:00

A very interesting concept and great use of graphics. I liked seeing the two world's side by side. The game seemed pretty slow moving though, either it was lagging on my computer or the jump and movement controls are very slow. Also I found there was some dodgy collision detection going on with some of the platforms, the rope and the button. A more in depth tutorial would have been nice too.

Overall I really liked the idea and the world, the characters are great. Just wished the experience had tighter controls.

Castle Clocksworth by My Sweet Whomp 2013-08-27T19:55:00

The text scroll on the opening screen is really very slow. The game itself is incredibly polished. The animations and the characters are fantastic. However, unless I missed something, I found it impossible to get through the 2nd room. There are just too many of them to kill. Nice overall concept however.

Run, Bun, Run! by jsspiegel 2013-08-27T19:11:00

This game made me smile and laugh. The game itself is very basic, but it doesn't need to be complicated. The graphics are very nice and the music is fantastic. You should be proud of managing to get a game out in a pretty nice condition like this. Also, pure genius having the random water level. :D

Red alert by graytest 2013-09-01T15:46:00

A pretty smooth game. There seems to be something wrong with the rendering of the surrounding tiles. The player seems to slip under the tiles and blocks don't appear when I can collide with them. The audio is ok but I think the font is pretty hard to read.

The use of the theme is pretty nice, leads to good pacing. The controls are very nice to use.

TimeOut by chaosBrick 2013-08-28T18:44:00

The game didn't quite render correctly for me - my laptop sometimes has trouble with 3D games. However I did get to see how nice the animations were on the player character. And I managed to see a game where the character just floats around amongst the stars as the floor didn't render in - it's was actually quite soothing and relaxing. :D

DecBin by DanteZack93 2013-09-01T15:18:00

The graphics could be better as they are quite harsh when seen all together. It would also be nice to have the different enemies have different behaviors, instead of just chasing you.

I like the game overall though. It's simple and could do with more but a very good first effort.

Count2Ten by mboaj 2013-08-27T20:11:00

What a great idea for a game. I only played it with two people but I could see with four or six that it would be great fun indeed.

The aesthetics are fantastic and everything is well polished. Nicely done!

You Missed A Spot by john_conder9 2013-08-27T19:21:00

Cute little game. It's pretty unforgiving when it comes to clicking and really needs a tutorial / explanation. At the very least put the controls and basics in the description on this page - that might help :)

The music was great and the different stains and cleaners were cool. Perhaps putting the different cleaners on the number keys would have allowed easier swapping too.

You Missed A Spot by john_conder9 2013-08-27T19:21:00

Also 2500 - not bad I hope :)

BombUniverse by Lidfrid 2013-08-27T12:26:00

I have a feeling I'm going to be playing hundreds of bomb diffuser games this LD.

The graphics however are very good, the way the screws and plates slide off the device is fantastic. The audio is good, though repetitive, but with a play cycle time of 10 seconds that's to be expected. I didn't manage to find the way to diffuse it. Different things worked at different times and I assume there is some big trick to it. Not bad overall, probably the best diffuser I'll play today.

Subject 127 by Dohan 2013-08-29T19:53:00

I got through a lot of the levels. Most of the time the platforming was alright - especially wall jumping from wall to wall. But the jumping is too hard to precisely control and the level design needs a bit more love I think. Doing the same task a lot of times in each level is tedious.

Overall not a bad game and the animations on the player character are good. It's in desperate need of sound though.

Poppy vs. the Night by SecondDimension 2013-08-27T13:20:00

Unfortunately the game lagged on my computer very badly so it was pretty unplayable. What I did manage to see was pretty interesting though.

SecondsXsecondS by SaintHeiser 2013-08-27T13:03:00

I've never given 5 stars in everything before. Congrats! I'm still suck on the second level, that last jump... I'll be trying to beat it for hours though! :D

I love everything about this game. The concept is original, fun and completely understandable and accessible. The platforming is tight, sensitive and rewarding. The powers are well thought out and fun to use.

The graphics and audio are great too, however sometimes I had difficultly telling the difference between what was and was not a background platform - it really isn't clear.

As for the difficult - it's obviously challenging, but I believe it is fair. It make you think about your power-up choices and exactly when to use them.

All in all, great game, great concept, great entry.

SecondsXsecondS by SaintHeiser 2013-08-27T18:52:00

Oh yeah - wanted to also say thank you for putting in the auto-remember list of power-ups chosen last time. Fantastic idea and extremely helpful.

Boxer's Seconds by madk 2013-08-28T15:51:00

The game is really interesting and I had fun matching up who would be ok with who and whether it was better to choose a different group. Unfortunately when I signed the invoice (which was a great touch) the text that appeared was all the letter A. I assume that's a bug and it would normally tell me how well I'd done.

Very innovative concept, well done!

10 Seconds to Lose by moltanem2000 2013-08-27T20:03:00

That made me laugh a ton. I won the first one easily and then purposely tried to come last. Seeing them all line up at the end was brilliant. Fantastic stuff. The graphics are great and the sound is good too. I seemed to have yellow bars on the sides of my screen though which were distracting. Anyway, really funny little game. Nice one!

Also just realised how you got the theme in there. That made me laugh too!

RGBaY by Temich 2013-08-28T17:58:00

The resolution is pretty hard to fit onto most people's laptop screens. I finally got the idea of multiple clicks on different circles but I'm not really sure that ten seconds is that fast. I wonder if you are using a fixed number for the seconds which is reached at different times by different computers.

The game itself is pretty basic but it is a bit different and the graphics on the start button were nice.

Don't sink by Doctor Broccoli 2013-08-28T18:07:00

The game crashes whenever I try to play it unfortunately. It's a shame because this sounds like a really innovative game which looks good as well. All I could think looking at the description and screenshots was Wetrix for the N64.

10 Second Dash by SneManden 2013-09-12T14:17:00

I have no idea how to get faster than a snails pace in this game. I'm not sure whether there's a good steady rhythm in there or whether I need to just go really fast.

I do like the polish on the game though. The loading screen was a nice touch and the graphics and audio is nice as well.

10 Seconds Per Meter by antonijn 2013-08-28T17:59:00

My computer says that the jar file is corrupt when I try to run it :S

10 Seconds Per Meter by antonijn 2013-08-28T18:03:00

Ignore the last comment. Managed to get it working.

The game is really nasty on the ears, it cuts in and out all the time. I didn't see the goal of the game itself and it was strange in its physics some of the time. If you go fast enough you can leave the screen.

I did however like the graphics, except for the font which was kinda unreadable.

Smoggy Seconds by TheCze 2013-08-27T20:06:00

I can't seem to play this one. Even tried it from the command line and it seems to do nothing on my Win 7 laptop.

10 Second Happy Rocket by Starspell 2013-08-27T22:33:00

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments everyone! I'm glad that you are all enjoying it so much. I think a creative version would be pretty fun as well to put up so tomorrow I'll post another version without the time limit for fun.

10 Second Happy Rocket by Starspell 2013-08-29T20:24:00

Cheers for all the wonderful comments guys!

10 Second Happy Rocket by Starspell 2013-09-12T14:24:00

Thanks for all the feedback and compliments everyone. I'm glad everyone has been enjoying the game. I do intend to spend time developing it into something more after the competition.

The 10-Second Rule by hissssssssss 2013-09-01T15:54:00

The overall game is fine and it's nice to see a different take on the theme. However the difficulty curve is not great. It takes forever for enough to be falling that it becomes interesting - and then in a split second it's just raining food!

I really like the graphics and you know it could have needed audio. I also found it difficult to put things in the trash... wasn't sure where to click for that.

Ab Solanum by doonay21 2013-08-27T18:39:00

First off I think the music is pretty catchy. I didn't particularly like the controls, it would have been much easier to control the movement of the player using up, down, left, right as directional input and using the mouse or another system for firing. I also agree with others that the graphics need to be crisper, at first I had difficultly understanding exactly which way my character was pointing. Finally, unless I missed something, I wished there was a way of disabling cameras - I thought that would lend something to it.

Nice good though ^^

Slices of Life by epiplon 2013-08-28T18:39:00

I was enjoying it til the opportunity screen came up. A little too hard for me and I'm a pretty fast typist. An interesting idea for a game.

The Burning War by MegaMasterX 2013-08-29T19:56:00

Can't play on my computer either. My archaic graphics card doesn't seem to be up to it.

Power Surge by timothyolt 2013-09-01T15:35:00

My laptop is unable to play this game. Shame.

Dodge These by Destroyer40k 2013-08-28T17:39:00

The game lagged like crazy for me but it's probably just my computer being slow. One thing that was annoying was that the screen was so tall that it was difficult to click on the start button!

From what I did manage to see it was pretty good! I'm not sure movement with the mouse is better than keyboard but the mouse wheel for modifying the speed of the ship was a nice idea.

The Aliens Came (10 seconds to choose) by porglezomp 2013-09-12T14:23:00

A very nice little game with good visuals. I like your use of the theme. The only things I would change would be to make it a little more obvious when you had infinite time so that you could sit back and read slowly and to add sounds.

Nice to see a good text adventure which was actually engaging.

TenSecWep by DesignerNap 2013-08-28T18:16:00

I like the graphics and the effort you put into the intro. I laughed when I read "metropolis of Guildford" as I used to live in Guildford, UK.

The collision detection at times was somewhat annoying. It would be better if the resolution of the collision detection allowed you to smoothly move past objects rather than getting stuck on them.

I also had no clue that you could move up into the room for a really long time.

Overall an interesting game, nice one.

MegaPunch by Nick Weihs 2013-08-29T19:35:00

What a great game. Unfortunately nobody seems to be playing right now but this is very impressive indeed. Nice work all of you. The graphics, mechanics, audio - everything is top notch.

Dungeon Crawling Simulator 2013 by MrBlade 2013-08-28T17:26:00

There seem to be a host of bugs in the game. I kept on getting pushed into the tutorial a number of times at the beginning and there were times when the game would not register my commands correctly. The game itself is alright but you don't really require any problem solving, thought or skill to get through as it seemed to be completely linear.

The humorous aspects were great though and it is nice to see a different game like this. Well done for completing it!

Lion Racing by TammiLion 2013-08-28T18:35:00

I thought this was a charming little game. First off the music is nice and the concept is great. I also like the faces of the animals. I like how stamina effects training and progress in the courses.

You've said yourself that you would have liked to put in jumping training. It did need that because the races were quite tedious to watch. Some manner of input from the player during races would be good. For instance choosing at what point in the race to give your lion a boost of speed at the cost of saved stamina etc.

Overall I liked the game and it was something a bit different. Make sure you polish it up nicely in the future, there are spelling mistakes and you aren't trimming your decimal numbers to short numbers.

Ten Second Dungeon by Jimanzium 2013-08-28T16:08:00

A fun little game. I found it a little confusing to figure out what I needed to do. Also the addition of auto-fire if you hold down the mouse button would have been a great addition.

I actually like the aesthetics in the game. I didn't find the scalelines overwhelming. Not a bad game overall, but I've played plenty of 10 second maze games this LD already ^^;

Ten Seconds Assasin by redo 2013-09-01T16:01:00

Made it to level 9, laughing at how silly it got. It's pretty good fun and the way you used the enemies to attack was good fun. I didn't see much point to punching though and never used it.

The sound effects are great. It's good to hear spoken sound effects instead of blip and bloops sometimes. The overall presentation was good too.

Next time I would say to host the game on a website or give more instructions on how to play a swf file though. Not everyone will know to open it in a browser.

<<Rewind! by NIGIC 2013-08-28T18:19:00

Doesn't look like I can play this one:

Probably because my computer is a brick. Never mind!

10 Second Waves by Erigitic 2013-09-01T16:04:00

Not a bad game. It's basic but it functions. It could do with a ton of polish in its graphics and adding audio. The controls could also do with a tweak.

Not a bad effort.

The Adventures of Lars by Dan 2013-08-29T20:17:00

An interesting, and very ambitious, idea but needs a little more polish. The platforming is a bit off and as you know the 2nd level has input issues.

Unless I am very much mistaken the Zelda sprites seems to been taken from the real games. Try to make your own graphics next time instead of using copyrighted sprites. This may be a jam entry but it's always better to make your own. :)

Look forward to your next LD game.

Royal Defenestrator by BasmanovDaniil 2013-08-27T18:59:00

Really funny game to play. The graphics are basic but they look good. Good choice in music but I really shouldn't give points for it because audio is supposed to be made during the competition by the developer.

I love the concept though, the humour and the controls are very smooth. Nice little game.

Ten Second Clone by Dream Of Sleeping 2013-08-29T19:37:00

An interesting take on the theme. I liked the little worms-like voices in the audio. Pretty nice idea ^^.

Ten Seconds by motty 2013-08-27T19:32:00

Like everybody else I was really confused at first. And I also had to look at the source code *shame* to get an idea of it. Clever little clues in the hints. Very cute little game.

10 Seconds to Apocalypse by donfabio 2013-09-01T15:25:00

The game isn't taking input or rendering for me correctly. The dinosaur is just a white square. However I did at least have a good look at the game.

The opening takes a really long time to get through and the music is quite grating. However the graphics I could see did look nice ^^.

Blobb has enough time by bitowl 2013-09-01T15:27:00

My computer can't support the graphics - as sad as that is. Can't play it :_:

The Legend of Jarrow by Vasileiadis 2013-08-28T17:31:00

Firstly I love the graphics and the camera work when moving. It was really smooth and great to see. I didn't like the mechanics of simply button-mashing - it's tiring and not all that interesting. I would have preferred to have held down the appropriate button and then release it when the enemies came close.

Overall a pretty interesting game and well done on the smooth graphics!

Lepton Epoch by Jacob123 2013-09-12T14:04:00

Unfortunately the graphics don't render correctly on my computer. However from the screenshots I can see that you drew them all from scratch which is nice.

The audio is quite harsh and it did feel a little slow but it was pretty fun.

GO AWAY I'M EXPLODING by sirtetris 2013-08-27T12:14:00

Fun little game. I was thinking that the game would be a bog-standard platformer but I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of thought had gone into the level design to turn it more into puzzle platformer. There are glitches in the collision detection in places and the use of acceleration, rather than a steady distance per frame, for the movement code was a little bit of a shame - as well as the lack of any audio.

But it was a really fun game to play and figure out and the concept was quite funny. Well done!

10Shots by JALgames 2013-08-28T18:47:00

It doesn't launch for me either on Win7.

Count by Tap by justi 2013-08-29T19:38:00

Shame I can't play it. Would like to see what this game is ^^

There's A Hook by Glockenspiel 2013-08-29T20:04:00

Mine eyes and ears! That background just burns my eyes when I'm moving through the air. The audio is really harsh and the music is at odds with the sfx.

The platforming is good and the character design is cool. I wish the effects didn't last as long as they did and that the zoom one didn't exist at all - it's not fun to make leaps of faith constantly.

Well done for getting it out there though.

Disminer by tnorman 2013-08-28T17:50:00

An interesting game. The idea of a bomb diffuser has been done a lot but this is a different take on it. The aesthetic choice is great. The interface is bright a fun. It took me a while to understand the game. I wish that the colours on the panels would be shown to you a little faster. I could see an extension to this where you match patterns, and then coloured patterns to increase difficulty.

An the intro - amazing. Didn't think you'd get some much out of so few pixels.

10 second unicorn by robbe 2013-08-27T19:35:00

Such a cute little game. Love the concept and the graphics and sounds are great. Nice one.

10Life by SkyTheCoder 2013-08-27T18:46:00

First off I'm looking wholly at the video since I don't own an iPad. The graphics look good but the speed of the game is incredibly slow. It also takes forever to kill enemies. The bullets also seem to be going through the enemies, which is odd... unless they were LASER BEAMS!

Well done for getting in an entry, looks pretty solid. Just a shame we can't play it for ourselves.

Will you beat 10 seconds? by Urfoex 2013-08-29T19:19:00

Pinokio and Juliet 2113 by kibertoad 2013-08-29T20:23:00

Unfortunately none of the versions are working for me.

awoid by robb 2013-08-27T22:30:00

Obviously missing the timer means that it doesn't follow the theme. Everything else is pretty good. The interface is good and easy to use. The rules are difficult to grasp at first but overall it's pretty good fun. A nice innovative set of rules.

Dungeon Run: Gauntlet by N427 2013-09-01T16:09:00

I doubt the second level is even beatable but it doesn't really matter - you did say it was endless.

The graphics are ok but the controls aren't particularly well suited to this kind of gameplay. You really want something fast and sensitive.

Not bad overall, just needs more.

Starlit Shoot-Out by NiallM 2013-09-01T15:20:00

It crashes for me as well - under similar circumstances. Passing -debug doesn't give a error message unfortunately.

Ten Seconds Lifespan by Mlle Eole 2013-09-01T15:33:00

An interesting game. I found it a little confusing telling the blobs apart and quickly forgot the rules and had to re-read them. I think if you added expressions to the blobs to show when they are unhappy or happy it could help fix it in my mind. Also the addition of audio and particle effects would helps with feedback.

There also seemed to be collision issues between the creatures and the middle section of the screen. I would have loved to have seen different stages.

It's a really cute game and well presented. Just needs a bit of tweaking I think.

Lab of Broken Time by Kaslai 2013-09-12T14:13:00

This is a great little game. I was thinking that the ten second looping would be like all the other games here. But I was gladly surprised.

It's really polished! I love the touches like the reversed motion at the end of the run (which is actually helpful to the game and not just an effect as well!) and the camera bumping.

The animations are great and I learned from this game how just using the animations to pause movement after falling from a great height really adds weight to the character and the fall. I will certainly be using that trick somewhere down the road.

Level design, music and animations are all great. I'd love to see a fully polished and complete game of this. You've got a good thing here. Well done!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Growing Sakura by ripatti 2015-12-16T04:22:00

I couldn't wait to try this game. Unfortunately after installing it on my Android tablet it wasn't working. All I could see when playing was a black screen so it didn't seem to be interfacing with my tablet's camera correctly.

ZX (3 in 1) by myachin 2015-12-28T17:11:00

Congrats for having three games in one submission. I like the style of each of them and I think that they are all interesting.

However its pretty criminal that there is no explanation for the controls in each game. It's really difficult to understand what's going on, which means that you die a lot, which means you never get to heard the cool music in the game.

The game I was best at was the green game (but best is only a relative term). I'd love to see a more user-friendly version of this game because it really is the more innovative game I've seen here.

Lands of TSR Lore by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2015-12-28T16:16:00

The graphics are excellent. I felt there were a few robustness issues though. For instance I could try to pick up something and then another event would go through, like an attack, and the text would scroll past what I'd like to see. For those not familiar with Legend of Grimrock etc. I'd imagine they'd have trouble with playing the game. Great achievement for a Jam though.

Saneedling by commanderstitch 2015-12-17T04:40:00

I don't really understand the game but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it! High score 2260.

Just an Beaver by lekiy 2015-12-18T01:57:00

Wow. I managed to get up to 2/6 trees - but only by planting them way in the corner and then standing diagonally across from them and mashing the attack button. Beavers everywhere!

I like the concept. The controls really need explaining better - I didn't even know you could attack at first. The tress also need proper health bars so they don't get destroyed the moment a beaver touches them - I think that's way too hard.

I liked it overall though - especially the cute jumping animations.

In the beginning by Liam :D 2015-12-21T03:02:00

For a while I couldn't figure out how to get trees on the planet but eventually I stumbled across them whilst free playing. One thing to fix is to stop movement of the buttons when clicking on next in the tutorial. In fact clicking and dragging probably would have been nicer than click to select and then to move. Graphics too could have had a little polish as it was difficult to tell the buttons apart, especially when selected. A couple of icons would have gone a long way.

I do love the style though when you get everything right, the atmosphere joining with the trees and the water looking really pretty. I'd love to play it again once it has had more work on it.

Turbo Pig by Crazi456 2015-12-21T03:15:00

I love the aesthetics of this game. The dancing trees are really cute. However there are some issues with it. In a game like this it is criminal not to auto-restart on falling out of the world and the level design is pretty long in a trial and error game like this. A better design would be to pause the pig's movement at the beginning, let the user place all the objects and crayon down that they want and then allow them to start the pig rolling when they want. Then if they fail you take them back to their last plan and allow them to edit it. Without this it's really frustrating to place until a time constraint - especially when the camera moves up and down with the pig rather than staying the same vertical position.

Regardless of that though I enjoyed this game. Its style is cute and I would have liked to have seen more of it.

The Last of Egg by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2015-12-18T02:57:00

Ladder Grow by One Seed Fruit 2015-12-18T02:25:00

Not sure I call the game over sounds easy to listen to music but that was an interesting game. I liked the smooth climbing animation. Not sure how to get pass the red door with the monster though.

Ball Crusher From Neptune by Stending 2015-12-28T17:22:00

I cannot get past 12 no matter how hard I try! This game is great! It's so simple and so easy to play and yet so challenging!
I love the music, the graphics, the movement, the little touches like having your previous highscore remain on the planet and the overall text positioning and style.
I have no idea how you managed to get to 71(!) even though you are the developer!

GeometryTwo by Gornova 2015-12-21T01:58:00

An interesting concept. It would have been great to have non-pixelated scaling on the main ship as it grew. As others have said, it gets pretty difficult very quickly.

Wesh Grow by SamH 2015-12-21T02:37:00

I enjoyed the game a lot. The music made me really have some fun with it and get into the silly mood. I got to a level however where you need to slip through a crack between the pink and normal tiles and then pick up a power up. Once you get that power up you then can't get back because you are too large which is frustrating. Also whilst your movement speed / force increases as you add parts, and you are adding mass, you never seem to fall as a realistic rate.

Buttons for Christmas by RoseNinja 2015-12-16T04:34:00

The music is very Christmas-y and cheery. I'm not sure that it was working correctly though as the reindeer didn't actually hurt me.

Growing Ties by drludos 2015-12-28T16:10:00

Excellent game. I love the concepts and the use of the themes. Very impressed with the graph statistics at the end.

Fortress Hunt by Funske 2015-12-17T04:28:00

I found the jumping controls to be surprisingly enjoyable at times, although not always precise. I also like the RPG elements you included. It made me go out of my way to collect coins. Whilst the sound is there it didn't hook in with the game too well and the graphics need a little bit of variety. For instance the harder enemies that take more hits should probably look a bit different to the other enemies. Not bad overall though!

Seicho Boru by Robert 2015-12-18T02:31:00

I love the idea here and the style of everything. However the streets are far too small and I managed to get stuck between too buildings and couldn't move any more.

Grow Pandora by Shivur 2015-12-21T02:41:00

I think that your game's economy is kinda broken. It's very hard to make enough money to proceed. The music is great however. What program did you use to make it?

Cyclopi by akirassasin 2015-12-18T02:47:00

What an interesting game. I love what you've accomplished. It's a very satisfying game. I think if you added sound and a few more mechanics it would be an excellent little game.

The Complex Tarthus by Ancient_Pixel 2015-12-18T02:41:00

A nice little game. Couple of bugs though: I died on the first level and when I restarted the music was gone. I also got an Out of Memory error as well.

I like the shifting of the camera - I wish there had been a bit more use of that. Also some feedback or display show what you can and can't do at any moment would be really helpful - it's hard to know if you can charge or throw a ninja star.

Finally I think you should have a short pause when entering a new level to show where enemies are because it's a little unfair when you just load in and then get rushed by a whole bunch that haven't spawned just next to you.

I'd like to see the concept taken a little further though.

The Complex Tarthus by Ancient_Pixel 2015-12-21T01:54:00

I got the out of memory error after maybe five levels? Not much other information I can say.

Recnac by thedashdude 2015-12-17T04:06:00

This is a great concept for a game. I have to say though that whilst I appreciate you fitting in both themes, the game's platforming controls are really being let down by only using two buttons. I think that when you concentrated on puzzling level design rather than a lot of precise jumps the game was at its best because of this. In addition a little bit more visual signals to say what is dangerous and what is safe would have been helpful.

Overall I really like the concept and most of the level design. I'd love to see this taken further.

Complete Control by Mikhail 2015-12-16T04:46:00

I think it's very daring to try a simulation / strategic game in a game jam. I like the idea of what you had here. The graphics and the audio could be better, I didn't have much idea of what was going on from just looking at the game. I also wasn't able to conquer any other countries, even when I had double their power and income. Maybe I missed something there.

Overall a brave concept needing some polish.

Snowballin' by Frenchie 2015-12-16T04:52:00

That was really sweet. I love the graphical style and just how fun it is. Needs a bit more sound support and better performance optimization but overall very nice.

My thoughts during play:

"Awww yeah! Getting pretty big now. I can take down anything! ... What's that? A forest of giant trees that I'm not quite large enough to absorb but too large to avoid!? NoooooooOOOoooooooOooo!"

Imagetchu by DoppleDanger 2015-12-21T03:20:00

Oh my god the audio in the game is fantastic! So much giggling. What a funny little game. I liked the graphics too. Great stuff.

Slower Than Sound by danielilett 2015-12-16T04:07:00

I like the idea of the game and the background artwork. I think I got glitch-stuck in the game but I made it through some levels. I not sure what Q did however, there didn't seem to be much of a difference between weapons if there was one.

On a more technical note you probably want to turn off fullscreen in your unity player settings for building next time as your sprites and central line aren't placed in their correct places on fullscreen.

Winter Wilds by Bastienre4 2015-12-21T02:07:00

Great little game, really enjoyed playing.

One aesthetic bug: When you beat the game trees can poke through the end of game UI.

Feature request: I feel as if I should be able to kill hunters. I managed to completely sneak up on one and was sitting on top of him for a little while before I realised I couldn't hurt him.

Colony XG-29 by juxipolo 2015-12-17T05:04:00

This is a great little game. I had two goes at it. First time I didn't get my supply chain set up correctly. Second time I didn't have any money coming in. Lovely little idea. Just needs a couple of extra mechanics to help along players that get themselves stuck, a little bit more to do and sound.

Nukaland: corruption by Mirch 2015-12-21T02:14:00

I like the idea of this game, but it does have a few problems. Like others have said the AI is too unforgiving. They move too quickly and outspeed your normal speed.

I say normal speed as you seem to be handling diagonal movement by summing the vertical and horizontal input together. You need to normalize the resulting vector and then apply your speed to that. Otherwise you end up with what is present in the game: double the resulting movement speed in the diagonal directions than in the vertical or horizontal directions. This faster speed is the only way to avoid the enemies though.

Tripper by Frozen Stick 2015-12-28T16:40:00

I have the same inset window glitch that others are getting. Most likely it is due to resolution. A windowed build with a set resolution would probably solve that.

As pretty much everyone else has said: nice graphical style, good music, interesting effects but the gameplay suffers for them.

Curse of the Slime Queen by mike.cullingham 2015-12-16T04:28:00

I liked the concept of the game but I don't think that the gameplay is easy to pick up. There doesn't seem to be a way to escape losing. I think if there was a tutorial to clue you into some the gameplay ideas it would have helped. I liked the overall idea though.

Go On by Sean 2015-12-18T02:21:00

What a lovely calm and beautiful game. It's so rare to see people try something like this. The graphics and the music are excellent too.

Centi-Snake by utoxin 2015-12-18T02:07:00

High score: 499716

I found that pretty fun. I appreciate sticking to the classic style but it would have been fun to have seen what you could have done by upgrading the graphics and the sounds. There was a lot of information on screen and it wasn't always easy to see what was going on.

In the end I was stuck in between the outer wall and my dead body parts so I had nowhere to go but couldn't get hit.

Pretty fun though.

DoNotFeed by Kentoro 2015-12-28T17:04:00

An interesting game. Gets way too hard and at some point you have no moves left and you just lose. Would have been nice to be able to switch the sweets on the left and right hand sides around.

Little Big Dash by Evannex 2015-12-16T04:13:00

This is a cute little game. I like your idea of growing and shrinking but I don't think that the player has enough control over it. Growing takes a long time. Additionally I don't think that the game gives you enough lead time to decide how to proceed. Also whilst I'm glad you went with a pattern of obstacles I think your difficultly curve needs a bit of tweaking, or at least a dedicated starting pattern to get people into it.

All in all though I thought it was a sweet game and congrats on your first LD!

Nybble Nybble by Hybrog 2015-12-21T02:45:00

"You done died" :) Well at least I lasted 30 seconds on my first attempt. Reading your description I was worried that it was going to be unplayable, but it really wasn't. A nice simple game with a semi-interesting idea put on it.

NanoBit by Weeping Rupee 2015-12-28T16:24:00

The like the idea of this game. I feel like what is letting it down the most is its level design. It's way too easy to get stuck and be unable to continue. I feel like the pools should not be finite usage items.

Also it was very hard to run and jump at the same time. I feel like the input logic is incorrect there.

I'd love to see what you could have done with the level design with more time.

Help!!! IM A CACTUS!!! by RadianINC 2015-12-21T02:52:00

So first off - that much water is going to kill any cactus out there ( 0/10 realism :) ).

The concept for this game isn't very new and the execution doesn't really come off as polished. The audio is pretty grating and the graphics, whilst clean, are fairly basic. I also had trouble using the exchange button, no mater how many coins I had it never seemed to work.

It is a complete game though and not everyone gets that far though!

Higher, Higher, AAAAHHHHH I'M ON FIRE!!! by sharpfrog4 2015-12-21T03:28:00

I like the idea of this game. There are a couple of problems though, the largest of which is that there is no easy to use restart button (holding up and space didn't seem to work) and there is no auto-restart if you fall of the maps which means you soft lock the game as you can't recover. I liked the animation and the graphics as a simple game though and a appreciate your enthusiasm with the audio.

Not a bad first game.

Shape Shooter by powerkraut_ 2015-12-21T03:37:00

I like the "2much" score level. That was pretty cute. I thought that the game was going to be disappointing looking at the screenshots but it's implemented much better than I expected! I liked the movement and the mechanics, especially switching modes to avoid damage. I didn't find it very challenging but add a few enemies types over time and more powerups and it would be quite fun to play.

The other side of the portal by mahjong50 2015-12-21T03:08:00

I understand the concept here but it doesn't hold up that well. Whilst you obviously spent some time making the graphics a game life this, with so few interactive mechanics, lives or dies on its presentation and unfortunately it isn't enough to pull you into the game by itself.

I think had the graphics been more polished and the game expanded you could have had more of an impact.

Planets by lolgamer65 2015-12-21T03:54:00

An interesting game. I love that you went to the trouble of modelling a solar system. It's a shame that you can't see in some way the effect you are having on the planet though. as others have said you shouldn't be using floating point numbers in your UI. I liked you choice of music, remember to credit who the artist was.

push your button then punch by 525 2015-12-21T02:19:00

An interesting idea but needs some polish. I liked the idea of becoming so large that you are able to squash your opponent. However it wasn't clear what was going on some of the time. In addition the mazes generated sometimes completely blocked off the goals from one or more players which unfortunately should never happen. I think you need to build more robustness into this so that it is fair for both players each round.

Super Wall Jump by Peekotus 2015-12-17T04:19:00

This game is very hard as you say. I don't feel that you have too much choice in the game, seems more like luck whether you die or not. The graphics are nice though.

Safe or Sorry by JimmothySanchez 2015-12-17T04:15:00

Tenuous link to the theme but I don't care! Great use of sound and graphics. Very atmospheric. Not sure whether there are different creatures later one. If not then some variety would be nice. Needs a little love on the end of game screens though.

Partners in Crime by trozen 2015-12-21T01:53:00

A really interesting game! I was much better at the first phase than the second. The only criticism I have is that you say that the silent alarm has been tripped when we can all clearly hear it in the game :)

Fleshgrowth by pzeronow 2015-12-28T17:00:00

Got to 27 blocks on the original version and it did soft lock. The artwork for the game is great, it's clear that you spent a ton of time on it. However the game itself is kinda lacking. The controls were not obvious and needed at least a sentence of explanation. In general the game is far to easy too. I like the idea of scrolling the obstacles across the screen though.

Hijinks High: Orientation (Ludum Dare 34 Edition) by cjmarchione 2015-12-17T05:20:00

I don't know that I made too much headway into the game but it seems well put together. The writing is good and funny at time. Not a bad little game.

The Climbers by NirabazGAMES 2015-12-28T16:35:00

Best score after three tries: 163. This is a cute little game. I think that sometimes the physics and the collisions are a little ropey though. I'm fairly certain that I should have been hit by the obstacles many times before I actually was. Overall I found the game a little hard to grasp at first, just telling the player the two button may not be enough for those that haven't played QWOP or other keyboard twister games.

Button Quest by Henez 2015-12-18T02:16:00

Beaten in two attempts. Love this game. I think you could really make something out of this given a bit more pacing.

Bryan by LikeAstudio 2015-12-28T16:49:00

I think this game was very ambitious for the time limit but you did achieve a lot. I like the graphical style although there are a couple of problems. For example the spinning of the character looks unnatural and the trees and some other objects aren't layered correctly. However the character animation and the particle effects are lovely.
The controls are a little weird too, probably should be left mouse click to fire instead of right as there's nothing on the left mouse button yet.
Overall great job. Maybe next time write down everything you want to do and then really make sure you can handle them all (or put a bunch of them in a "nice to have but could be cut pile).

A Firetree Tale by aeveis 2015-12-17T04:31:00

I think the game could use a bit of instruction at the beginning, especially with regard to your life and what to avoid. I love your growing effects for both the main tree and the green areas and the concept is really interesting. The one feature I find lacking though is a way of looking back over your tree once you are defeated to see the cool effects that you created!

LD38 — A Small World

The Burrow by Stending 2017-05-09T02:21:09Z

Best game I've played so far. Super chill, beautiful sounds, music, atmosphere and artwork. If I had one nitpick it was that the fish didn't get as much love as either the worm or the bird. Love this game though.

Space Travel 15 by jk5000 2017-05-07T02:37:55Z

What a cute game. It's like mini metro on a globe. I think that the interface needs some tweaks but it's a fairly fun game apart from that. I think the difficulty of the game could be increased a bit, the first path of the game drags a little.

Bad Panda 2 by Pandakipu 2017-05-08T03:28:47Z

A pretty funny idea. The players needs a health bar or some hearts, one hit ko's are not very fun. Probably not a good idea to hid the weapon you need to get through the game behind the starting point of the player. A little bit more polish though and it would be a nice little game.

Walkabout by Galan 2017-05-07T02:57:21Z

A really interesting concept. I loved your art style, the lines for the scenery and the character. It's nice to see people trying something outside the norm. The only part of the game that I didn't like was the ending, it was a little too abrupt and didn't really send the game off nicely. It was a nice relaxing experience though.

Planetary Escape by w1n5t0n 2017-05-07T02:23:17Z

I like the idea for this game and that you managed to introduce a tutorial. However the game could have benefited greatly from some music and a little more control.

Going No Air by starspell 2017-05-08T03:29:18Z

Thanks everyone! Glad you are all enjoying it!

Going No Air by starspell 2017-05-09T02:03:47Z

Thank you for the lovely comments everyone! I'm so pleased you enjoyed playing the game.

Hi Pluto! by nekoballs 2017-05-07T03:10:50Z

There's some nice little bit of polish in this game. In particular I like the background, camera motion and the random sets of sounds, they really help keep the audio fresh. The game could use more though, its a pretty basic game whose mechanics have been done quite a few times before. Next time you might want to take two well used concepts from different games and attempt to fuse them together. You often get pretty interesting results that way!

Shapeshifter: The King of A Small World by Rixud 2017-05-08T03:15:45Z

An interesting concept for a game. The graphics and audio were a little basic but the idea of the world came through nicely. Reminded me of playing A Bug's Life on the Playstation.

Caelium Alpha by jishenaz 2017-05-09T02:59:07Z

What a lovely idea for a sandbox game. I used to be fascinated by orreries so this was a very nostalgic game for me. Add some sound effects and some soothing tunes and this would be perfect!

Caelium Alpha by jishenaz 2017-05-09T03:03:26Z

And for the post-LD version. Pretty much everything is awesome. It would be nice if the FOV of the camera stayed the same for both zooming out and in, instead of fish eyeing. Awesome job!

Meteor Jam by PeachTreeOath 2017-05-08T03:07:32Z

An outstanding LD entry. The gameplay is solid, the music is excellent and the intensity of the game ramps up nicely. Even though the later levels are insane because you keep the upgrades you buy and your ship's progress between deaths, you can always win if you keep trying long enough.

If I had a small nitpick its that the blocks are not the same height as the player. If they were you could move through tunnels without having to jump over things.

The Four Tribes by yoanndeplo 2017-05-07T02:50:09Z

I'm glad that you went to the trouble of creating and translating the storyline for the game. The little text boxes really added to the narrative of the game. I enjoying watching other tribes join together with me. However I found it difficult to know what to do and plan my moves. A tutorial would have gone a long way before it. I look forward to seeing another game from you!

Ellipticats by Hotchmoney 2017-05-08T03:25:15Z

Fantastic game. I love it! The music was a great choice to put with the game. The gameplay was really fun and exciting. The idea in general is just barmy and great. I laughed really hard when I saw the space cat message for the first time.

Sandelipe Boxenan by MestreRothLD 2017-05-07T02:17:40Z

I love your concept for this game. I myself have wanted to try to do something like this as well. The audio and visuals are really well polished. However there isn't really much you can do in the game as a player. It is really cute to watch however.

Asteroid Survival by obidubi 2017-05-07T03:44:46Z

Not a bad implementation of a survival game. But its pretty easy to last a long time in the game. You just need to spend all your starting production on the machines that gives you materials, then you can support yourself basically forever.

The gifs you posted help, but an easy improvement would have been to name the buttons and the machines so that doesn't need to be explained to players. It's a shame that there is not sound in the game.

I did like the player character's design.

There is also a bug that if you buttons in the top right are over a machine when you click them the machine will be selected rather than applying the buttons function.

Planetoid Escape by shockeye 2017-05-07T03:03:40Z

A nice idea but lacking polish. Your turning speed is very slow compared to your extremely fast walking speed, this makes it difficult to pick up crystals. You can run into your spaceship and bump it across the planet. Your scene is using the default unity sky box, which is distracting. And there's no sound effect or music. However, I really liked the little animations on your character and the models for the character and the rocket. They didn't need textures to sell them and were quite charming.

Gate Breaker by GrassWhopper 2017-05-09T02:54:10Z

I love the 2.5D look you hand in this. However its sorely missing music and sound effects. I'd also prefer a hold to shoot option as well. I pretty nice take on a geometry wars game.

Stardust - A space adventure by shiitman 2017-05-09T02:39:54Z

I love the graphics and the gameplay was well implemented. I sometimes encountered low FPS when I was on the left side of the spaceship. I'm not sure whether you can finish the game, I managed to get all of the pieces in order to bring and plant a tree on the spaceship, but I didn't know what to do from there.

The game also has a lot of text at the beginning which is a bit of a drag, even though it is well-written.

World Keep-Away by dracominer 2017-05-07T02:45:12Z

I like the idea here and the opening cutscene was really fun. However I had a lot of problems with the rest of the game. I wasn't able to click on the menu entry for the tutorial, I think it just sent me into the game. The game itself is ok, there are a lot of bugs in the jumping logic, sometimes I would be hit and sent a few screens into the air. The music is not really easy to listen to over time, nor does it fit with the game that much. A bit of polish and this could have been a nice tight prototype.

Eine Kleine Insektmusik by davidthelazar 2017-05-09T02:28:04Z

I love the concept of this game. It's definitely not something I'd try to make in a game jam. You pulled it off quite nicely.

However it was pretty easy, on the 2nd bonus track you can win the game without moving at all. It might be more interesting to only have hammers for notes that are used for each song, rather than all of them all the time. That would be much more challenging.

The Curator by adcrusher 2017-05-09T02:50:09Z

Really nice! The graphics are great, I especially like the starfield background - you went with colour which is so rare. The only thing I would change is the introduction of lives and controller support. Otherwise, top notch!

iwantout by zsoltbartok 2017-05-09T02:07:52Z

I lovely little game. I really liked the concept and the puzzle. I spent a while thinking that I was getting the code wrong but then I just restarted the browser and did it from the start and got it in one.

I love the graphics too.

Tiny Venture by faemir 2017-05-07T02:30:25Z

Definitely an interesting game. I found it a little difficult to understand however what plants related to which attribute. I eventually ran out of oxygen, I don't think I ever found anything to refill my oxygen at all. Great looking game though.
