LD25 — You are the Villain

Doctor Spandex by Cássio Eduardo 2012-12-22T16:20:00

Amazing art, music and humor. It took me a few plays to understand the mechanics though. Otherwise I absolutely loved the comic book feel of the graphics and everything about the game felt really polished.

Pirate Guy by Skye 2012-12-22T16:09:00

Nice submission that is a complete game. A couple of issues that bothered me. The collision was iffy and either pixel-perfect collisions or smaller rectangles would be better. Usually in terms of design it is better to have the player not get hit when they should rather than have the player get hit when they shouldn't. Having movement limited to just y is a strange decision to make because allowing both x,y doesn't add much to the complexity yet would make the game a lot deeper.

Virus Infestation by Zathalos 2012-12-17T11:20:00

Really fun! Took me a few rounds before I realized what everything did but afterwards it was awesome. I'm curious what the behavior of enemies and teammates are.

Revenge Bear by dek 2012-12-19T18:44:00

Amazing pixel art with animations. Something that really made this cool but might seem minor is the curved level. I can't express enough how amazing the art and animations are though.

My Little Terrorist by tomc 2012-12-21T22:17:00

Got very addicting once you have a decent operation running though initially recruitment didn't yield anything for a very very long time. The pathing of the terry's really impressed me and I'm really curious how you handled that.

For the love of the king by FlowerPower 2012-12-17T17:44:00

Took me a few tries to reach the point where you generate endless money and stock. Pretty interesting to figure out the right balance at the start.

Fearless by lekochen 2012-12-17T20:56:00

Loved the presentation and mood set by this. The fade-out text really made a difference. However I think this went over my head because I didn't understand the last level where I was defeated by the villain (the entire screen was black which i assume was intended). Also I was too dumb to figure out the connection to the theme although it seems really deep.

Zombie Escape by godan 2012-12-19T15:57:00

Animations and textures are really amazing for 48 hours. Great concept although I was also very confused on how to actually play (even after reading the directions and playing around) but I can definitely see the potential here.

Evil Dragon by rubna 2012-12-21T16:48:00

Only 260 on trackpad but I doubt it'd be easier even with a mouse. The only thing that irked me (though it was a design decision rather than a bug) was to shoot at something you had to be moving at them but you couldn't get off enough shots to really clear waves. Amazing graphics and overall it ran smoothly, nice job.

All Galactic Creatures by somethingbeautiful 2012-12-19T18:36:00

Amazing graphics and animation. Really surprised these graphics were all made within 48 hours. However the game itself is really confusing; I couldn't really figure out how to play.

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-17T21:02:00

Got hard really fast once you get past 6000. Was addicting stomping those flowers and I loved the change once you are about to lose.

Weapons of Mass Construction by dan.jeffrey 2012-12-17T11:39:00

Amazing. The gameplay itself was very smooth and allowed for a lot of different solutions. I really wish the controls were mouse only.

- Bombs completely OP but were a lot of fun to use.
- Some levels felt like the solution were really simple compared to what was expected.
- I really wish the last level was longer because the scrolling large map has a lot of potential.

Devon by 100GPing100 2012-12-17T15:51:00

Got it running no problems but the game was somewhat buggy. Managed to finish the game after a few tries; nice platformer. Can be great if the bugs are ironed out and art was more consistent (even simple polygons can look great if everything fits).

-On the start screen, sometimes it doesn't run when I press enter. It takes a few tries before i get into the game
-If you jump on an enemy sometimes you propels you really really far.
-The screen shakes constantly (not sure if intentional) and same with enemy bodies.
-Sometimes when I die I get stuck with no way to do anything.

Here be Dragn by doos 2012-12-22T16:15:00

Great graphics and loved the sound effects. I assume you voiced all of them : )

One problem was that I couldn't really figure out a "goal" of the game. I wasn't really sure what actually hurt me (probably arrows but sometimes i took damage and sometimes i didn't) and there was no clear "win".

JASPrincess by dreamwalker 2012-12-19T18:39:00

Very cool maps. It seemed like a lot of effort was put into them. First tried the windows version and couldn't get that working.

Serve The Lord by galman 2012-12-19T16:10:00

Amazingly addicting game once you figure out how to pass the first 1-2 levels. I really wish the upgrades applied to already spawned units. Once i got used to the game it was really fun trying to hit a balance of what i need to survive and how much i can spend on upgrades. I havne't found much of a use for swordsmen (?) yet since I just use a couple of barrels for a meatshield then a million archers behind them

Video Games Cause Mass Shootings by hydancer 2012-12-19T16:15:00

After finishing the game I actually felt pretty bad but that really shows how the mood was well done. The recoil to finite jump is a cool idea but sometimes it was mechanically hard to do. The graphics fit the mood better than any detailed sprite art could ever do. The ending instruction is confusing.

On another note, do i know you?

Path to Death by Steven Colling 2012-12-22T16:44:00

Wow, unbelievable that this was made in 48 hours. The graphics and attention to detail are amazing. The game itself is really deep and It seems like with some balancing there is a lot of potential for strategy. However, I wish there was a guide or some more feedback on how things work because it was confusing my first playthrough.
