LD24 — Evolution

Vivere by Tkatchenko 2012-08-30T22:19:00

I like it!
It's very similar to mine concept, the realization is way more complete and interactive, or without the "way more" :P

(are you Italian?)

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-08-27T00:56:00

OK, there's no interaction, completelly N O interaction. Z E R O. I made it in like... 10h, but I had previous bugs. The time before those 9h I implemented the collision system.
I made an engine. ^_^

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-08-27T10:13:00

I've noticed now that I forgot to add new files to git before commit (T_T)"
I'll add them later when I'll be at home

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-08-27T19:27:00

@FrozenFractal: I'm sorry, I'll do. You can try to download it from http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/AMD64/libglew1.7/download, put it aside of the executable and add "." to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

before running the program.

@NederfGames: It texts: "not completed" and I've written bad comments myself. What more? Free time travel?

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-08-27T21:36:00

Oh... I misread your nick NedortGames.

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-09-02T14:25:00

I'm making a video with timelapse, explaining and game (due to the non-interactivity it's like playing it :P)

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-09-04T16:54:00

@brita_: as said before it's because I compiled with that versions of the libraries and I did it with dynamic linking.

Soon I'll upload the video.

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-09-09T16:03:00

@azurenimbus: for sure! I'm now busy with my bachelor thesis but I'll certainly continue it's development.

Thanks.

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-09-12T13:58:00

Theoretically the code is portable and compilable under both Windows and MacOS, but I had no time to finish it and so no time to compile it under Windows.
The next LD I'll try to finish the game and compile it under Windows too.

E.V.o by theGiallo 2012-09-16T14:28:00

I've made the video, but with no audio due to a memory leak of OpenShot (or a >15GB memory requirement). I'm trying to add it with PiTiVi. It's in uber quality and I've a very slow connection, so it will take a lot of time to upload it.

Please be patient and wait for it to rate the game. :)

LD25 — You are the Villain

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-19T20:19:00

I've just uploaded the source code to my git repository https://bitbucket.org/theGiallo/opengl_secondproject.

@zenmumbler: what does it says?

@Gazok: I do not have that library o.O and google gives me only a page of results searching "libfreesound", this is strange. What distro are you using?

@epiplon: An error? What error? Please tell me! I'll try to correct it!

For people who can't run linux games:
It should be compilable with VS, I had no time to try to port it. If I'll have I'll try. Meanwhile it runs perfectly on a live CD of Ubuntu 12.10 (I've tested it on a virtual machine), so, for this game and others, give it a try!

@xandrew: Thank you. To make a multiplayer game without testing its gameplay is difficult and dangerous :P and it's dependent on the quality of the keyboard, but I wanted to experiment and to risk (^_^)

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-23T19:28:00

@ceronman: I completely agree, I hadn't integrated OpenAL and I had no time to make come sprites, because I spent 7h~ to try to compile it statically *facepalm*

I've just installed VS2012, I'll try to compile it for windows :)

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-24T18:34:00

There it is! Windows version!

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-29T12:28:00

@Neonlare: thank you! :D

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2012-12-30T10:26:00

@Beanably: oh yes, you have to install VC++Redist2012 http://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Hero Beat ME! by theGiallo 2013-01-01T16:58:00

Hmm... it's strange. I've tested it on another pc, and it had a bug: no world limitators. :|

Try to install the VC++Redist2010 and the VC++Redist2010Update too.

Thank you for reporting.

The idea is not bad. There is a lack of interactivity during waves, and they are a bit slow, and teh fact that it pauses when not focused does not help. It could be improved with more types of towers, that need interaction. Maybe adding thresure zone could make it more interesting.

This game is great!

Raoul V. in You Are Ze Villain! by Grungi Ankhfire 2012-12-18T16:06:00

It's dependent to your version of dynamic libraries. Try to incude them in the zip or to compile it statically.

It's saying me
./raoul: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /tmp/_MEIS3O5Lt/libz.so.1)

Voice of Fire by theGiallo 2013-04-30T16:20:00

Thank you all :)

About floaty jump: yes, I tried to make all dreamy.

Voice of Fire by theGiallo 2013-05-06T08:35:00

Thank you all :)

@rzfmzn: I tried to remove, or at least reduce, as many "meta" as possible. In fact the time, a sort of score, is displayed only at the end. I didn't wand the player to be affected or distracted by them, ruining the dreamy experience.
@GeorgeBroussard: Did you used the double jump? The jump is not really "slow moved", but I wanted to achieve a dreamy sensation, so as final effect it could be perceived so. the physics is almost as it would be in reality.

Voice of Fire by theGiallo 2013-05-06T15:58:00

Wait... That George Broussard. Whoa.

Voice of Fire by theGiallo 2013-05-20T15:04:00

Thank you. I tuned the movement very carefully.
I like the idea of the zen runner :)

Voice of Fire by theGiallo 2013-05-21T10:56:00

Thank you :D Canabalt is to me an awesome runner game :)

Of Guards And Thieves by cominu 2013-04-30T10:34:00

The best game of this LD. Shurely. It's better than a lot of games on Steam. I want this on Steam. Let's Greenlit it!

What a strange game. Or interactive thing. :|
You did the sprites? They are cool.

If you worked on Unity you have to post the Unity3D project.

Also: what are supposed to be the commands? Even the 360 pad doesn't work...

SPACEd out by Alex Camilleri 2013-05-02T14:35:00

Great entry! IT has the theme in the mechanics and in the graphics. Great mechanics! With a soundtrack it would be perfect! 8)
