I made a white creature and the from then on could not create creatures of any other colour. Nice concept, but the creatures just walk away and dont come back.

Thanks for the comment adventureloop, can I ask which browser and operating system you were using? The creatures do die (and vanish at an alarming rate) but they should be bound by the edges of their habitat.
cool concept and fun! i like how its kinda like the RGB mixer anyways after a minute or two it gets kinda boring but still cool game.
An interesting idea, and a cool simulation of mutation. I had a little trouble understanding why animals grew and why they vanished, and which ones were mating and when. But it was fun to watch, and the mutations were also a good time. To be true evolution, it might be interesting to add food items, and restrict the animals to eat only colors of food resembling them - that might show natural selection and be kind of cool, especially if you could control the food color.
Fun app, I wished they could grow bigger.
Not really much of a game, but you get points in theme, it was an enjoyable simulation.
Also white critters are hard to see, you may want to change the background into a checkered pattern or something.
It was pretty amusing to fiddle with the settings and see different results, but I wish there were more variables to tweak and check your results.
Perhaps some kind of loose goals or "things to try out" would have been a neat addition.
Overall,I found it to be an interesting project.
@DaveDobson
The creatures mature and die at predetermined random times and mate when they come into contact with another mature creature (they also have a mating cool down period).
You're right in that there currently is no fitness function, so their DNA does not have any influence on their life span or mating chances. I was playing around with a few ideas like having DNA that produces colours closer to white have longer lifespans so over time they'll get brighter. But in the end didn't settle on anything.
@Everyone
Thanks for the comments and ideas!
If you put their speed on zero it just turns into a big incestuous orgy.
Well this kind of game is all about watching what do the creatures do, and your creatures do quite interesting things.
Well done.
I like it!
It's very similar to mine concept, the realization is way more complete and interactive, or without the "way more" :P
(are you Italian?)
These games with little independent actors are the best.
Nothing to realy do here. Due to background color it is possible to create creatures that are very hard to see
Interesting sandbox-game, but I feel like it's not interesting enough to be fun right now. Could probably be turned into something that's enjoyable with some additional features and work.
It's a neat sim, fluid animation, would have been nice if they had traits other than just color and speed though, since all they really do is blend the colors with slight random variation. Not much of a game though, there's nothing to really do and no goal.
Love the simple style, would have been great with a little audio.
