Very good, i really like the glowing effects
Very Cool & Fun, and even funnier when you figure out that you can bounce in the walls!
And very nice GUI design too!
Simple but very funny, i took a lot of force and then i fall haha  nice music too!
Very good, i love the art, music/sounds and those tricky pieces, they saved me more than once!
Where i can preorder the Gemtoy? haha
PS: I recommend you upload the builds in itch.io (You have analytics, multiple builds support and even built-in web player), instead of this weird thing
@ithildin @5you said that the Game A contains some bugs, you should test the Game B, i played a lot in B and i didn't see that bug ;)
Very good, this method of punch penguins legally its unique ;)
I see you in every stream i enter today!
Very good art and sound, like everyone said the physics are a bit messy but even so its fine
@squatch @hoogmin thanks for report it, the link its working now ;)
Thanks @squatch i will try to reproduce it ;)
@squatch again the evil lua, struggling all the time, just a error with map instances modifing, in theory now its fixed with other minors bugs
@nillard its something with lua random number generator, i will see it i can fix it tomorrow, now restart the game and see if the level change
@noah-beckman Thanks ;) Currently i am writting the post mortem of the game, but sure i will test it later
@renan-prates you should test others maps by restarting the game, if you want different difficulty (The difficulty its not everything its a ludum dare, there is more things to see like graphics music, and effort i make the game blindly and at the end i don't have time to balance it perfectly, just try to hide some times instead of shoot and shoot), the more turns you have, the more turns the bot have too, its very easy to see the theme
@draperdanman thanks for the feedback, i tested you game some time ago and i really liked it
Yeah, i was out of time, but it could be more cool with something like shields, ability to break the crates etc
@happysloth oh, to much thanks, ya i was planing too much things, like multiplayer, more actions, more levels and settings like volume & stuff, i didn't do it cause the time, i had some troubles with the internal stuff and that make me waste a lot of time, but ya, probably i will release a complete version in the future
@lazzor thanks! i am noob making music haha, in this entry i tried to make something better than the last, but always i am better on coding than art and music haha
@fluidvolt thanks! it was based on fidel dungeon rescue and other stuff, like i reply to lazzor, i am new making music, i will try to learn more about it to my next entry
@@ariake81 to much thanks ;) a real sense its always cool!
Very funny, score: 900~ it will be nice if you publish the code in github, to see how you do the ai
@noah-beckman oh, thanks! Another thing that i learn from ludum dare
Very funny, nice conversations
----- - "My pc won't start" - "Press the power button" - "Oh, thanks" -----
- "They help to find myself"
Awesome, i really like the controller!
Very Good, i love voxel art, it will be nicer if you display the score in the death screen and if you add a highscore system, in unity you can do it using [playerprefs](https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/PlayerPrefs.html)
Very cool, specially for a java lover like me haha
I have some suggestions: - Add outline to important objects like the snowball, the trees & stuff - Add fog to hide the object popping (Object apearing far away)
Very Good and fits perfectly with the theme, i got 35 crystals
Very good, arcade style graphics and gameplay
No, i don't like brown color!! haha, interesting idea!
**I have one suggestion:** If you make a web game, host it, don't put a link to download the entire source code, i think you can host it in itch.io, shared hosting or in a heroku app
Its just amazing, the soundtrack is beautiful, the art and the story is pretty cute
Just one minor perfectionist detail: I would recommend you leave a little space between lines on the dialogs, some times is a bit hard to read
@leon75 I uploaded a new version called "delta" to the itch.io page, its now using delta time on the background
@raogs I am glad to hear it! I think is the best framework/engine for 2D
@jupiter-hadley as always, thanks! :heart:
Also thanks for the reviews @drunkardwolf @super8bitrafa @steventrouble and @nikki93
You still have time, try to finish it... this can be a really cool game!
Very nice! Hope to see you in next ldjam!
My favorite for now!
Super cool game, loved the art sound and arcade gameplay. Just wanted to suggest some kind of feedback when you attack an enemy, that would be badass and perfect for the game style.
To much thanks @amethystproductions @simon-rahnasto @velvetlobster and @arvejeitor for your reviews! And @jupiter-hadley for the video (awesome as always )
I also released a timelapse of the development (20 hours of footage in 6 minutes)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSeQ47FTBm4
@digitaldude555 thanks for your review, in fact the movement was even slower in the first iterations but I did got bored while testing it so transitions times were decreased, but its true that probably is still slow
Glad to hear you slayed the schizophrenic snowman, his life was a little bit hard. And about the Exspectans card: it works and avoid that enemies hit you for 6 turns (you lose the effect when an enemy is slayed) but there was no time for adding feedback effects or an overlay that tells your current "powerups"
@plagueofminds also thanks! Actually I am really proud of it :smirk:
Thanks everyone for the reviews & feedback
@nul thanks for your feedback and reporting the bugs, I will check them to know what is wrong and avoid it next time! Actually this was an idea I had from lot of time ago, originally it was a multiplayer/survival/card game with dungeon crawler too (with random generation inspired on the binding of isaac and spelunky)... A bit crazy but I had planned everything, even the name. When the theme was announced was the first and only thing I could think of. So yeah, probably will do it a full adventure or rogue like game in the future, seems like people enjoyed it ;)
Spent lot of time playing it, here are my stats:
download.png download.png
Pros: + I loved the art (the devil looks hot af) + Really like the idea of having to "sell" or sacrifice certain items to gain money and purchase upgrades + Very satisfying!
Cons, but more than "Bad things" they are interesting tips to upgrade your games: + The More Money upgrade seems to not charge money when purchase + Why add a sub-menu to the Prod buttons if there is only one option, I would recommend to instead make that when you click on the "Prod" if starts producing ingots + Making a seconds counter instead of that large number decreasing at speed light while producing an ingot (the same for sacrifice countdown, but with minute:second clock since it goes up to 60 secs) + Adding some sounds, you can use [bfxr](https://www.bfxr.net/), its free, quick and it would add a lot of feedback to the game, hooking players even more time
Very nice game, one thing that I liked is the "Vote" button on the menu, I will use it on my games from now. Also I want suggest to center a little bit the game canvas in your website.
Its so darn cute :cat: it reminds me a lot to slime rancher
It took me some time to learn the instructions (I think you can add them ingame too) but once I got it, is so fun to play, I really liked it!
Just two suggestions:
1. Add some sound, it would be nicer if the game had sound, you can just use [bfxr](https://www.bfxr.net/) to create some pixel-style sounds
2. You should mark the itch.io Windows build as it, like this (now you have only linux and macosx marked):
download.png
So people like me (nerds) who use the itch.io client can try it more quickly! (Also you can use [butler](https://itch.io/docs/butler/) that does this quite "automatically")
@whismirk yep, it can now be started through the itch.io client, thanks! And ya, I know what it is running out of time... that was my biggest problems this time haha
At first I tought it was an horror game and felt very unsafe in the darkness, then I read that it is a relaxed game so I calmed haha. After a while wandering with a torch it felt very nice, loved the sounds and I think that the voice notes where very sweet
Very nice, got a pretty reminder of Braid mechanics but very different! Definitely would buy and finish a full version of this.
Its very cool, amazing grafix, really like these kind of games, however I think the car movement is my biggest issue, probably too much friction, felt like the car takes too much time to look into the direction I am aiming but instead going towards, same when stoping.
@terderrer @huang-sicheng I know about necrodancer but never played, at first it was just a dungeon-crawler game but the disco feel was like too much obvious haha
You don't really need to click enemies to purchase stuff, only the villager a couple of times, also traps are not mean to be brought in like "preparation time" but meanwhile in the gameplay, however that is a design decision that could be tweaked a little bit.
@silas-the-dev never played necrodancer but as far as I know the mechanics are completely different.
@kazuo256 well, there is no feedback when you match the rhythm, that colors are just oscillating forever haha, but its interesting how it gave you that impression! I wish I could added all the "better life quality features" but there was no time to do so :/. Finally, didn't really notice the amount of open sourced software I use, I think I am just used to it and feels very nice :)
@offz I really enjoy games where you have to think well and not fast, glad you noticed it. I really like the idea of a critial hit whenever you match the beat and I think it would probably be ok with the current thing.
@jahwffrey @purenickery
The main issue of the difficulty probably was the lack of testing; didn't test very well the game and did sometimes with infite money trying to focus more on the feel/functionality/design more than the difficulty. After playing now I see that it is insane, so I am going to release a post-jam build that let enemies deposit some money after die so new players can enjoy the game in a better way.
Thanks everyone for the feedback, remember to test and play your games as priority #1
Its was hard to catch the idea but I've got it and won the game. Its a pretty cool concept!
Love tower defense games and this wasn't the exception, very fun to play with, however I wish I could upgrade or delete torrets and also a bit more info about the properties of each one. The graphics even though are simple, they look nice together and reminds me of simpler 3D times.
Very cool, don't really know if you were aiming to this but I fell a very DOOM-like vibe. The only fault is that you can put the game on fullscreen which makes gameplay a little hard for me (I am not old )
omg, this game is so amazing, apart from being very polished the concept is very unique and interesting.
"Usually it is all fun and games in Ludum-Dare-Land. But today's topic is not a laughing matter. We pReSeEnT tO yOu: tHe ChECkeN"
@ubershmekel thanks for you comment, it made my day ;)
@betamorfosis thanks also <3 I really appreciate
I am currently at a time where I start to find out how difficult relationships are, spending lot of time trying to find the "logic" behind it, making it look simpler in my head like if it was something with a source code ready to be interpreted haha. I am grateful and impressed to see how a game as simple as this one has the ability to comunicate that amount of feelings I wouldn't be able to do with words.
Also thanks for noticing the music, I was planning to do more, but didn't have the time to extend it. It was very fun to create ^^
This is way too much for a Jam game haha. You've got a perfectly commercial game here!
As a DOOM lover I can just say that is is amazing. Just one detail: let v-sync enabled by default (maybe with an option to disable, tho I don't think that's necessary), sometimes it's a little bit akward to see such a masterpiece being teared like that haha.
Amazing game, one of the bests jam games I've seen. I can see myself playing this for hours.
Very interesting concept, it was pretty fun!
Nice game, very clean graphics, I would have loved some sfx and music
Really nice combat system, tho a bit slow, I think it would be more fun with shorter cooldowns
Very fun game with nice graphics and audio, there just seems to be a problem with tasks, after sometime you can't complete them
Nice game and really clean graphics, it is frequent to struggle with bad thoughts and then getting motivated with nice things, I really like hows this gameplay shows that and makes you feel a need of populating the grid with good thoughts
Graphics are amazing, overkill for a jam game, hope to see a post jam version with gameplay!
Really nice graphics and sound, beautiful experience!
Cool game, I really liked the tutorial; how it stopped and let you push the arrows!
Nice game, just a couple of things: + Settings are not saving, sadly I didn't hear the music or audio because I cannot change the volume + I recommend shipping the game in itch.io or at least providing the zip file in drive to make it easier for players to download (or even having a web version if possible)
Amazing game, fun, nice graphics and totally polished, reminds me of friday night funkin'
Very nice game, I will just suggest to add a little bit more bright and the ability to remove orbs
Nice nerdy concept, really liked it!
Very nice game, only problem is that blood gets under beds sometimes making it impossible to clean
Wow, amazing puzzles, it really makes you think! I also love to see games built in love2d, keep the good work!
Very nice graphics! A bit hard but very fun!
Vety nice game! The music is incredible!
Amazing! I don't have the time to finish it right now, but I saved it to do it later! It is a very nice entry
Amazing! I would definitely play it if you make a full release
Very hard but nice idea and amazing game!
Very clean graphics, very nice voice over haha!
Very nice and polished. Controls could be a little bit simpler. It did take me some time to figure the jump + down mechanic
I spent a lot of time on this one, nice entry! My only complain may be that you don´t need a tutorial that long, I think the UX is that intuitive for anyone to understand (maybe just a skip tutorial button in-game, instead of the checkbox when starting the game)
I mean... it is near perfection. How on earth did you make this game for compo? My only complains would be the difficulty of the puzzles, which I understand the prioritization of dialog (very nice btw), and the movement queue, that maybe can be replaced for a "hold to continue moving" mechanic. Other than that, probably the cleanest entry I have ever seen!
Good game and nice to see a custom engine, it would be awesome to have fullscreen!
Very good! Had a really good time playing it
Nice to see a non grid or path tower defense game. Graphics are cool and sound is not bad. I just recommend you to give users a portable version instead of an installer, especially for a jam game
Nice game! My only complain is the v-sync, I think you should add an option to enable it or maybe just ship the game with it
Amazing graphics and the idea is very nice. I just find it a little bit hard and sometimes confusing. Maybe adding more error margin and making it more difficult to loose would do?
Not bad! I don't know if there is any music or sounds (I don't hear any) but I would be nice. I also recommend you using nearest neighbour as image filter when doing pixel art
Probably too much similar to Lovely Planet, but the card concept fits good
Edit: I saw some people talking about the sensitivity
I think you can add another version "Post Compo" with a sensitivity option, i personally find it too much higher, also i found that when you release any movement key it keeps walking some time and i think that gives insecurity in a platform game
The music is perfect, reminds me a lot to undertale, also the gameplay feels very good
The concept is funny and graphics are very detailed, also the music is catchy
Looks interesting, you get the "battle royale with cheese" thing from Jonathan Blow?
I like racing games, this one is really cool i made 13 miles =D
Nice concept, graphics and sound, but just to know, what you think genres this game apply?
Hey, looks pretty nice but i don't know how to play it, i open my inventory and right click in the rod but nothing happen, can you please help me? 😁
Very good, i enjoyed it a lot!
