The music and the art for this game were awesome! However, I agree that the spikes blended in too much, I died a few times without ever noticing they were there.

This was a fantastic entry for it being your first game! It played really well and I liked the camera zooming. I thought some of the levels seemed a bit out of order in difficulty, and they also started to repeat without warning, but great job!
thank you all for your comments they mean a lot to me!
@oparisy all the night-time does is transport you back to your home and regrow all the flowers, so there is no way to "survive" it. The goal of the game is to make it to the end in a single day (which is why the teleporters are there to help). Glad you liked the rest of it though!
Running into the players many times in a row was pretty frustrating. Great idea for a game though! Also wall jumping, did I mention the wall jumping? The wall jumping was great! Wall jumping wall jumping
(also I didn't know you could double jump until half-way through)
Pretty awesome game! I loved the animations and music. It took me a while to figure out you could walk on the rafters and accidentally walked into the light way too many times but that's on me. Overall it was fantastic
I'm still so confused how this game knew what my name was at the end. Nice job!
I really like the idea of a monster going around and setting up the level for a player! The movement was really hard to control though, it seemed like you didn't start moving until a second after you pressed the key and then you immediately started moving really fast. It was also hard to tell what exactly you were supposed to do but it seemed like there was a lot!
The graphics are pretty darn gorgeous, however the movement is really floaty and it's hard to tell what to do. Also I fell off the edge to the right and had to restart the game. Clever idea making them go left though!
This was a really cool idea for the themes! A few times I got really long stretches of concrete that I don't think were possible to survive though.
This was a really good little game! I liked the main mechanic and the use of the theme. My only two complaints were the jittery camera and that it sometimes didn't recognize clicks.
Awesome job!
This was a pretty cool game. I really loved how the vine slowly turned grey when you ran out of water
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. A very nice little game that will be great when more is added to it!
Good little game! I really liked the graphics and the music/sounds. It started out a little difficult but got really easy after the first wave. I eventually just filled up the whole land with towers and waited out the rest of the game. It's a great start though!
Great voices and take on the theme!
Great look and graphics, and the camera movement was very smooth with the quick movement, but like those above me, it was hard to figure out what to do, and after a period of time I could no longer select certain entities
Very fun little game, I agree that the difficulty ramps up a little too fast though, it's hard to come up with a decent strategy before you're already being overwhelmed by monsters. I really like the idea though and the game feel is on point
Absolutely fantastic text-adventure game! I wish I could have put more time into exploring the different options and learning the language a little better, but what I was able to get through was wonderfully written and very engaging.
Really great game and experience. Loved the music and the voices, loved the graphics and the gameplay. I always ran out of energy and died no matter what I did though, but still had fun!
A very good mechanic and use of the theme. Extremely challenging but gets easier with time
I really liked the music and idea behind it. I couldn't figure out how to get back out of the cave each time I tried, but it seems like a great start to a project that just needed a little more time!
After a few tries I was unable to move the duck at all as well, it was a very interesting idea though and was pretty fun and challenging before it stopped working on me.
One of the more original ideas I've seen from a jam game! I enjoyed the audio a lot and playing through it was great
Very cool concept, I would be excited to see what it's like when it's more finished. I really like the water effects and the kinds little cart!
Fantastic jam game! I loved that you could still shoot an arrow when your flame ran out and that it only lowered while you were moving. Level design was wonderful and it was fun to play. Only suggestion would be that I wish there were more levels, but I know the time probably limited that!
Very good little game, I enjoyed the theme and the feel quite a lot. A few of the level passages seemed to be traps as they were long without many flames to keep me alive, and some of the enemies seemed almost entirely unavoidable. But overall I enjoyed it a lot!
Not bad at all for a first game. It was a neat idea and executed pretty well. My only real issue is that it was pretty easy, and I found it odd that upgrading the objects in your office was significantly cheaper than repairing them, I would think it would be the other way around!
@nillard @selftitled Thanks for the comments! We were planning on adding in more weapons and a clearer direction for the map, but we were working straight to the last minute on just getting a base game finished! If things turn out well maybe we'll make a post-jam version with more weapons and maps!
@silas-reinagel @wheybags @rodel77 Thank you very much for the feedback! I have decided to upload a version of the game with fullscreen to the page, it was our original intention to have fullscreen and it was a simple checkbox flip in gamemaker to allow this :) please feel free, everyone, to rate the game as if it lacked a full-screen mode however!
Fantastic job, and not just for your age! The difficulty scaled up very nicely and was fun to play. Keep at it my dude!
Very good little game once I figured out what to do, it was a little difficult to figure out at first. I'm a little disappointed the plant never caught on fire too! I managed to do pretty well after a while, and I really like some of the small touches like the soil color and flower color changing based on the stats!
Great jam game! Originally it was very difficult but got easier as you figure out a strategy. Improved graphics and this game would be awesome
This kind of game is definitely my style, but it was so difficult to keep up with the train! Also, if you lead the train off the edge of the map, it gets stuck and the end game button doesn't work, I had to exit and start the game over again. Overall it was a pretty good execution of an idea that I really like! Nice job
Pretty fun game, I'm impressed you were able to add in a whole shop in the time limit. I did find it very difficult from the beginning but was eventually able to make it a good amount through the game. I think the enemies move a little too fast relative to your speed which can be a little frustrating, but overall it was a good time
Great little game, I loved that you can pick to protect a little prince or princess. Maybe I'm just bad but I found it extremely difficult, I'm glad the shield option was there!
Not bad at all for 7 hours and your first game! It was a little hard to figure out even with the tutorial, but after I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun!
Maybe a little too much walking back and forth along the same path, but it was a great game that made me smile. Combat mechanics were actually quite good and as many have said before me, the humor was spot on!
The graphics and feel are great! Picking up items is sometimes difficult if you're not facing the right angle but otherwise it was a fun little challenge. I did manage to win and lose at the exact same time and both the win and lose screen popped up!
