Holy shit this is insane! The graphics are really nice, the music and sound are absolutely perfect (the end music blew my ears off), the game mechanic is really neat (and that first level with the music that starts oh my god it's really cool!!!), the level design really works, I could only wish for more. I *DO NOT* regret following you guys from the last Ludum event because you definitely delivered! Congratulations for this wonderful entry :)

So well done. It's difficult to get a game this balanced in such a short time (something I always fail at.) I really liked the merging of action and puzzle, strategic use of firing the bow, especially with the jumping and moving enemies.

I would love to see this expanded upon. I feel like the only critique I can give is that I want more game to play! This game has wonderful style, tight controls, great sound, and lots of juice. The gameplay has a perfect balance of challenge and the overall difficulty curve is really good. This game is brilliant, awesome job!

Oh wow, the game feels so dang good to play! This is some of the best sound design I've heard in a long time; that feeling when you die, but an arrow lands and saves you... *perfect*.
My one critique is that the level design didn't feel particularly inspired, I didn't feel like the mechanics were fully explored. But tbh, that's me digging for something to critique, it's pretty hard to say anything bad about your game! :heart:

This is the first LD46 game I've come across that I've actually wanted to come back and play again! Simple yet creative gameplay and the music is great as well. From one Matt to another, great work!
Absolutely incredible entry! Such a fun and fast-paced twist on classic platformer gameplay. Graphics were great, very stylish. The sound design and in particular, the walking as your flame gets weaker was just perfect! One of my top picks for sure.
Damn, art is nice, audio is nice, levels are not easy. Love how the sound change when the flame decrease. Still not understand why you can still shoot an arrow when you are dead but hey it's magic ! Amazing work for an amazing game. Hope more levels and boss fight will come later
Fantastic jam game! I loved that you could still shoot an arrow when your flame ran out and that it only lowered while you were moving. Level design was wonderful and it was fun to play. Only suggestion would be that I wish there were more levels, but I know the time probably limited that!
Impossibly frustrating and yet I can't stop playing it. I think you are on to something great here!
The mechanics are incredibly interesting, and the visuals/audio create a fantastic mood.
My only criticism would be around the very first level. Felt it could've been good to have the candle visible on the first half of the level so that it could've been immediately introduced as a mechanic - or maybe have a level 0 where that was simply shown, and then proceed with level 1.
It became quite confusing when I was shooting the arrow (trying to aim at the candle) with the candle being off screen - and upon seeing that was not helping my own light, I thought I had to do something else - to realise eventually that I was right and had indeed to shoot at the candle BUT it had to be on screen. - This probably wouldn't have happened if I knew for sure that was the actual mechanic and my intuition was correct. Not sure if any of that makes sense. :see_no_evil:
Anyway, overall it's an amazing entry. Don't let my long piece of text above imply otherwise. It's clever, it's pretty, and everything works together very nicely.
WOW I think you have something truly special here, this is a very unique mechanic and I think it's a lot of fun. It has a catchy title and logo, the music is WONDERFUL, the character is charming. Great job. Absolutely blown away.
probably one of the best games I played. the only issue I had was for some reason when I first played I couldn't even make it to the fire you shoot so I kept dying over and over and I was like I do not get this game. I restarted the game and then bam I had enough flame to walk to it. I dunno how to reproduce the glitch.
Anyways the sound effects and music and graphics and mechanics just all shined very much in this game. I feel like this has the potential to be a full game.
This was great! I absolutely loved the overall atmosphere, and the graphics were spot on, but the gameplay itself was fun and challenging enough that it compelled you to keep going. The whole core concept of keeping your little-candle self alight is wonderful, and I'm really impressed with how balanced you managed to make the levels feel considering the time restraints. Well done.

Great execution! Fit the theme really well. Puzzles felt good. The art was well done, the flame effect especially. I think the music and audio effects really make it stand out for me. Was really anticipating a boss at the end there! :P
