I love this game! It is the funniest game I've played so far out of all the submissions.

Oh deery me, what a predicament.
Very funny meta story. Everyone killing everyone in order to save someone... Crazy world. I wished there was some sound to go with the game, as well as better defined tree boundaries. At one point in the map there seemed to be a narrow tree passage but I couldn't get thru.
Fun game! Lots of humor ;)
Good humor, adequate graphics. Really liked the story and the fights. The last one was tough, needed at least five tries. I wish there would be some audio. Good job
Nice job. Really entertaining & challenging fights, story is funny (maybe a little predictable after a few encounters). Just the map could be smaller, lots of walking/spinning :) around...
Quality game, funny and genuinely enjoyable mechanics. Congrats on this submission!
Dark but wonderful at the same time. Well done!
Really like your entry pal, good job with Löve2d pleasant ambiance just guess miss some music but nevermind well done ! keep it up !
Very cool game with a good storyline! I enjoyed it a lot playing it!
Good humor, and game, but the environement need more detail
Wow, great job! I really like your sense of humor, especially when I found snow-white, I laughed a lot! A cute game from the beginning became a massacre of innocents souls! The game was amazing, I really enjoyed art, plot and your dialogues! Great entry! :) PS. I appreciate you made checkpoints because I died two times xD
Nice job dude, this game is fun :). Only the sound was missed, but the rest was okay.
I liked the idea of a game centered around humor like this, but I'm missing some music and SFX.
Maybe a little too much walking back and forth along the same path, but it was a great game that made me smile. Combat mechanics were actually quite good and as many have said before me, the humor was spot on!
A very funny game, indeed. I loved the nonsensical nonplot very deerly.
Just really missed some music and sounds though.
The combat was very simple and straightfoward, but effective and engaging. Just two actions but a very satisfying experience. Especially the boss!
I'm also really happy to see soemone using LÖVE in Ludum Dare XD
Nice entry) I like your dark humor and postmodern approach to storytelling. I understand why you choose such simple graphics but I'd recommend you next time to try keep all pixels of the same size on screen. That way graphics would look more consistent. Combat system is simple but quite challenging and has it's own charm. Hope, you enjoy our game as well) Good luck!
That was a funny ending. I loved the silliness of the dialog :stuck_out_tongue:. The final two fights were intense. Especially the final boss. Some sound effects and a soundtrack would give it a little more spark. Also, it was nice to have checkpoints!
I really enjoy this game. It is like originaly Grimm's dark story without happy end.
It really was deeply unsettling - in the meaningful way. Good job on wrapping actually very hard topic in funny writing and setting. Mechanics were super nice and i loved the diversity in enemy behaviours. The last battle was a little hard, it could be useful to show many times you need to hit the guy to win. Also very cool art!
This is a real gem, I had no idea what I was expecting going into this, but it for sure was a pleasant surprise. The dialog started out great, and then just kept getting better. Just really clever all the way through. I **really** appreciated the fact that when you died, you got to start at the last encounter. This allowed me to play through the entire game and enjoy it.
Really cool to find other people using Löve, and making such amazing games. Well done!
Nice one, very funny! You somehow managed that I never got lost in the samey forrest, that's great. However I would love to have some checkpoint in the game, it's still plenty of going back and forth through stuff you already know and did. Also it seems to me that the difficulty spiked a bit too much. The combat would very much benefit from some audio and particles.
However I love the 8-directional movement and the artstyle is simple yet expresive and very neat and nice. The player character feels very good to control, which is superimportant! Overall I had fun, thanks for that! :)
Very funny game, and I loved the controls. The invincibility frames and ability to move through enemies with your dodge roll helped make the combat feel good.
Would have loved some audio for the extra immersion in the griping story but overall well done. :)
Such a noble game, good sir. I admire your game design manners.
Funny parody of the typical quest RPG. The graphics were pixel but still very good. I especially thought the forest maze looked good - it wasn't just a grid of the same tree sprite repeated forever. I liked the save points - it would have been hard redoing all parts to retry the final boss.
To improve, I'd say the final boss was a good difficulty but in some of the wrong ways. Seemed like I needed to circle strafe around him to dodge the gun but beyond that I don't really know what I did wrong/right to win/lose to him but eventually I did win.
Finally, good final dialogue and good end screen.
This game's humor is drier than a bucket of sand sitting in the sun with no water.
This has got to be the strangest soulslike I've ever seen. It's definitely the most unique coat of paint I've seen on a soulslike and I don't know how to feel about it.
Overall, sure okay whatever it was chill I guess
Dude. I loved the humour and although I didn't make it past the first large group of enemies (damn archers) even after 2 attempts, I saw what I needed to see.
Yeah, it's simple visually but it was funny as hell and a joy to play. I see it is your first entry as well and it's honestly a pretty good first entry! If you want to add voice acting in the future, hit me up and I will see if I can dedicate some time to it (the first day of LD is usually pretty empty for me anyway)
I look forward to your next LD entry!
I hit publish twice and created an empty comment... ignore this
@langotriel oh wow, remembering how good the voice acting was in your game, I actually feel honored! I'll think about it
A silly, almost trippy experience, very dry humor lol. I think I almost made it through save for the last red dude with the triple arrow shots, that was a bit too much. But I like it nonetheless, cool entry.
Also the medicine is best used on wolves anyway :3
This was quite cool!
Reminds me a bit of the old top-down Zelda-games and such.
---
The story didn't make much sense, but I guess it really wasn't supposed to either.
The combat system was surprisingly well put-together. The abibility to roll was really fun (it was my default way of moving around).
A defense/shield mechanic would probably be an interesting addition to this.
I easily defeated all the first batches of enemies, but the final encounter caught me by surprise. I didn't lose, but it actually required some effort to evade the arrows.
---
My only complaint is the repetitive environment graphics. The minimalistic pixel-style is otherwise nice, but I would have wished for some variation so it wouldn't have felt I'm walking amongst the same generic patterns.
Keep making games!
Very enjoyable! The game kinda reminded me of Megaman Sprite Game. Good humor, the arrow pointing to the next objective was very very helpful. All in all, a complete package. Nicely done. :)
I had a blast. Worth the time:)
Good job on the game. The combat was fun and the writing was amusing. I really enjoyed the final fight.
Great game, I got killed trying to bring Snow White's heart to the deer . :)
very pretty and fun
What?! Hahahahahah. Another savior.

Analysis...
1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow: The mechanics of exploring the place (forest), fulfilling objectives, while fighting enemies (and "random" people) to "save a poor doe" (speaker) ... was well implemented (in my view). Learning how to play was simple and fast, as there were few buttons and they were readily explained. Becoming good at the game (to the point of concluding) took a little longer (I died once during the final confrontation). The game flow was good, in my view, even though I died once (hahahahah). PS: Glad you have a check-point.
2 - Graphics, Audio, Narrative: The graphics were really simple, but they were enough to convey the narrative. I missed a bit of a trail (for action mainly, and forest setting, perhaps); as well as I missed some sound effect. The narrative was fun and funny, despite having a hint of "criminal".
3 - Culture: It makes diverse cultural references and (also) makes use of metalanguage. All of this with a hint of humor.
4 - Monetization: I believe that the game could be extended a little longer (in a post Ludum Dare version) if you want to sell on itch.io or in other stores.
@gustavo-christino thanks, cool feedback!
I loved the humor, my one gripe is that the sprites are not confined to a pixel sized grid, causing subpixeling. I would also recommend against rotating sprites in increments other than 90 degrees. The final boss was challenging, but I suppose that is the point. All in all, good job!
Dude, I didn't expect this game to be that good at all just from the screenshots. I was dead wrong.
I loved the humor in this, and it felt really good just rolling around everywhere. The combat was simple, but it worked really well. The final boss was a little bit difficult, but I absolutely loved this. I'd love to play a longer hack and slash rpg type thing made in the same way as this.
Hilarious, good work with the writing! And it's a good take on how games have you kill so many enemies to reach a goal like saving one person.
