LD46 — Keep it alive

Gophers by randomhuman 2020-04-21T13:46:46Z

Super nice looking art style and well written text, I wish there was more to do in the game, and that it communicated that to the player a bit better. The sound effects and audio did compliment the tone of the game which I liked! I feel as if the controls could be refined a bit; having to repeatedly click became repetitive quite fast. However I did enjoy the experience - well done!

XCAPE by Frozen Stick 2020-04-21T19:40:18Z

Very fast paced and hectic game, I did enjoy it but the music did feel a bit grating and the control scheme confused me a bit, especially with no tutorial. The art looked quite nice, and I liked how each level had a unique weapon, that really gave an incentive to keep playing - well done!

Protect It by Laaph 2020-04-22T21:34:07Z

Very simple game, but the graphics and audio felt a bit too simple, however the core mechanics of the game were interesting and unique! With some fine-tuning to the controls I think it would be extremely good, but I did enjoy it quite a bit nonetheless - good job!

Back to the Hell by omer1615 2020-04-21T21:38:05Z

Really spooky game - the mood is great and the audio really compliments that. It can feel a bit empty and the graphics aren't the best, but it was a very worthwhile experience - congrats!

Dragon Drop by Roelosaurus 2020-04-21T17:49:23Z

Pretty interesting concept, however the puzzles weren't insanely thought provoking (my game did crash though so I only got to like the 7th level). The art style is really nice though, and I agree with other people about music and that a tutorial would help immensely, even reading the controls here it took my a while to figure everything out initially. Yet, the game was still fun and was a worthwhile experience, so good job!

In Brothers Arms by vizitas 2020-04-21T20:02:10Z

Honestly a really good game, the checkpoints were expertly placed which I've not seen too much in this jam. Was very enjoyable, it forced me into a smaller resolution which was a bit annoying but I got used to it. All in all pretty decent submission, congrats!

Abandoned Archive by Vedal 2020-04-21T20:17:44Z

@thatsolodev I'm sorry to hear you encountered that bug, aha! Could you explain a bit where it is/how it happens, because it might be different to the one we fixed, thanks in advance!

Spawnhood by JammedGame 2020-04-21T14:24:42Z

Humour was good, the graphics were quite nice as well. I don't think the right options always made sense, but out of the games I've played, this has been quite unique and I really like that!

To The Bunker! by BBApps 2020-04-21T14:37:04Z

Honestly, really liked the game. The music was actually quite fitting and the sound effects were decent. I appreciate the difficulty option, because I've found so far there haven't been too many challenging games, and completing expert mode was really fun (and stressful)! I liked the graphics and the mechanics/physics of the game seemed to work nicely, I didn't really feel like I was driving a car, but still I very much enjoyed this!

Outta Juize by Kiln 2020-04-21T21:51:54Z

I found the controls a bit confusing and counter-intuitive, but the graphics were nice and the audio was pretty good too. After getting used to the controls, I enjoyed blasting myself around the screen and it became pretty fun, so good job!

Medic! by halflemonstudios 2020-04-22T15:08:40Z

Actually quite enjoyed this, was unique and fit the theme nicely. I agree that it isn't immediately obvious about what to do, but after a bit of testing it can be figured out. Good job!

Run! Skeliboi by Piturnah 2020-04-21T17:20:45Z

Simple game, can get quite repetitive but still fun. The audio was also simple but still of decent quality. The gameplay was honestly addictive though, I was playing it for longer than anticipated, aha! Good job!

Keep the Planet Alive by TheNumberYellow 2020-04-21T16:48:47Z

Fun game, simple but introduced new mechanics over time to keep it interesting. Art style is quite unique, which is a nice change to some of the ones I've played so far. Overall, a solid and pleasant game!

Are you kitten me, Cthulhu? by BIG EVIL CORPORATION 2020-04-21T22:11:53Z

Very fun and silly game, honestly I got jump scared by the tentacles at the start ngl! It became really hard to manage as it progressed but I did have fun playing - well done!

Whisper of the Flame by Zachary Rodrigue 2020-04-21T16:35:27Z

Honestly a very quality and polished platformer! The music was quite nice, but after a bit got slightly repetitive. I like the idea of you being on a time limit, without an explicit time limit being there. The art was also very cutesy and nice, and this game controlled well - great work!

Grandma's Boi by CsOmega 2020-04-21T15:41:29Z

Nice little game, it was really easy to exploit unfortunately though, since whilst carrying grandma you were still faster than the enemies. A funny concept though, and the fighting system works just fine, however it's not really explored too much though. Still, an enjoyable experience nonetheless!

Who did you meet ? by Fabien Parisot 2020-04-21T17:02:38Z

Plague doctor will always be a cool figure, especially now. The mood of the game was a bit melancholic, which I liked a bit. I think the objective of the game isn't too clear, there was an introduction but it said more about the story then the mechanics of the game. I appreciate that this game genre isn't really as popular as some others, so props to you for making it though!

FROGISLN.ELF by WittyCognomen 2020-04-21T19:45:45Z

The control scheme felt a little weird, and unfortunately I never got used to it. I really liked the old fashioned and unique art style, but the gameplay held it back a little for me. However, I still enjoyed playing the game, so good job!

Kernel Panic by boxcar012 2020-04-21T17:30:42Z

I found the game extremely difficult, everything was hard to micromanage, especially since collecting materials seemed really tough and the components were very far away. Also, I don't think an orange background helped set the mood, it seemed quite out of place. The graphics were pretty good and the sound effect of opening a door was actually really nice, but I feel as if overall it was a little confusing - maybe an interactive tutorial would help with that? The game was still an enjoyable experience, so good job nonetheless!

Pollice Verso by JHax 2020-04-21T13:57:41Z

Mechanics of the game were enjoyable, however I did find the game immensely easy. The writing for the weapons was pretty neat and the art was quite nice, I feel as if the lack of audio did make the atmosphere feel a bit empty. Still, I enjoyed the unique concepts like relying on the crowd and the Emperor's mood, and also the fact that you didn't want to kill the enemy but make them surrender. All in all, good job!

By Lantern's Light by Chez3 2020-04-21T15:29:02Z

A surprisingly enjoyable platformer, I really enjoyed the fact that you felt strained for time, and the placement of objects seemed very nice and fair, but not too easy. I think the sound was atmospheric and added to the mood without intruding too much. The ending credits were a bit hard to follow, but it's better than some games which didn't even have any, so that's always a plus! Congrats on making this game, it was a fun experience.

♡thump-thump♡ by anystarabove 2020-04-21T19:33:00Z

Interesting concept, the controls were a bit janky and there wasn't tons to do. The basics of the game were interesting and fun though, and the graphics were pretty decent - congrats!

Sparks Of Light by Barwani 2020-04-22T14:59:30Z

The game was quite interesting, it had a unique concept but I could run straight to the end in some levels and the projectiles that enemies threw my way were hard to see (and there wasn't much of an indicator for when you take damage). Still, the gameplay was enjoyable and the sound design was pretty neat, so well done!

Capture & Trace by LiquidFunk 2020-04-21T20:09:34Z

A bit confusing at first, but after understanding a bit more it was reasonable enjoyable. I really liked the sound effects and the music was solid, and I really appreciated the minimalism in the art - very nice submission!

Just a Stroll by killy9999 2020-04-21T17:13:36Z

Honestly really fun, the art style is really fluid too. The sound of killing a bird does get a bit annoying after a bit though, but the actually gameplay is solid. Congrats!

Mimi the Mouse by Fractal Flower Girl 2020-04-21T20:31:50Z

Quite a nice simple game, cute graphics and unique sound effects. Good work!

Midnight Technician by BillehBawb 2020-04-21T21:10:09Z

Extremely fun and stressful game, I loved every second of it. The difficulty was expertly tweaked and I liked the music and art style quite a bit. Very fun to play and kept me on my toes - great job!

Deer Quest by Brachistosauro 2020-04-21T19:25:56Z

Quality game, funny and genuinely enjoyable mechanics. Congrats on this submission!

Planty by kitjenson 2020-04-21T17:09:34Z

A very simple game, but it was actually quite enjoyable! I got to 90 points mark and at that point and I could tell that after that the plant would become comically large, so I personally think the plant should grow a bit slower but the hazards should spawn quicker/move faster. However, I did enjoy the game, so good job! And I also do agree with all the sound comments, aha.
