Can't seem to run the exe.

snowycocoon 2020-04-21 02:25

exe is not working :c

kara-nova 2020-04-21 02:53

It is a pity that exe does not work, I would like to look at this visual style in the game (

canti 2020-04-21 03:06

I get the error: VCRUNTIME140_1.dll doesn't exist on my computer. I'd like to try your game out. Looks interesting!

chromaphase 2020-04-21 04:25

Also share OSX exec please ! If possible.

thenumberyellow 2020-04-21 04:32

Hopefully the problems with the exe have been fixed now. And I'm very sorry but I won't be able to make an OSX executable, apologies.

fermak 2020-04-21 05:30

Nice and simple. Started to feel like the best option was to just run in circles constantly with all my buttons pressed though

luddegodofpain 2020-04-21 05:35

Solid game!

claybro2021 2020-04-21 05:37

Font made it a little difficult to figure out what buttons to use. But I really like how it looks and it was fun thank you!

tomyomy 2020-04-21 16:48

Fun game, simple but introduced new mechanics over time to keep it interesting. Art style is quite unique, which is a nice change to some of the ones I've played so far. Overall, a solid and pleasant game!

rsninjadev 2020-04-21 22:47

nice, controls feel a bit awkward. I think making the player use two hands would of made it easier to play

kregames 2020-04-22 04:22

The rotation feels a bit weird, but manageable. Cool concept, nice work!

sneakyfox 2020-04-22 04:25

Nice idea and graphics, but very hard to control ship

jarmustard 2020-04-22 11:50

I found it fun overall. I really like trying to balance the multiple types of threats and the fact that you yourself could be a threat if you're not careful. I also liked the theme of trying to protect the world from itself. Plus I thought the aesthetic was quite strong. Great job!

roey-shap 2020-04-22 12:11

Really strong multi-layer effects. It felt like most things interacted in interesting ways, and already there were different strategies like preemtively holding water out while moving to douse future fires. I will say that the ship is a bit slippery, which can make getting the hang of it a bit less fun than your cool mechanics deserve! @rsninjadev's comment about constantly running in circles definitely has a bit of truth to it, and it's probably because of how much easier it is to just hold one direction rather than fight the low deceleration. That could be one way to make a cool different game, though - what if you were forced to spin all of the time, and you had to manage what upgrades you bought to get the most out of your weird movement pattern (it would also make cool patterns with the projectiles like your game does)? TL; DR, took a bit to get used to, the introduction of mechanics was nice, controls could use a bit of fine-tuning, and didn't understand what that golden thing I picked up was, but I really enjoyed the theme, sound effects, and mechanical interactions.

technogoth 2020-04-23 01:31

It was a good little game. A classic arcade shooter. Like the increasing threats with each new level they all fit the theme well. I like the gravity effect on the on water although it did mean I could just spin around the planet constantly shoot bullets and water to win.

eckkert 2020-04-23 01:50

Very nice art style. I discovered that I could beat the game by letting my ship spin freely while I held down both shift and space. So it is not just an arcade game, if you are clever it is a puzzle game. :)

krakadushka 2020-04-23 12:21

It didn't start :(((

thenumberyellow 2020-04-23 17:02

@krakadushka Was there an error message?

krakadushka 2020-04-23 17:55

@TheNumberYellow No. Just this screen ош 1.png

thenumberyellow 2020-04-23 18:02

@krakadushka that's odd, looks like the images and fonts folder (and presumably the sounds folder) isn't in the same directory as the executable?

krakadushka 2020-04-23 20:47

@thenumberyellow So, I tried disabling the antivirus and unarchiving the game... it's working! Now it's one of my favorite games from Ludum Dare 46! This is a game with a simple but interesting narrative with a small number of mechanics, but each of which is perfectly measured and fits perfectly into the game design of the game. Nice work! P.S. I think, that it would be more convenient to control the mouse ship, unless, of course, you have not conceived the complexity of controls

thenumberyellow 2020-04-23 21:02

@krakadushka thank you! And yes, the controls were one point we were unsure of to the end - it probably would have been better in the end to use the mouse.

Good game, good graphics, but not enough more music and too easy to win by defending one piece of land

paulhocker 2020-04-24 05:02

i had to try your game because it was a planet saver like mine. i really like the different mechanics that you can do and it was a pretty hard game. nice work.

surfskater2 2020-04-24 14:13

Awesome game, loved the concept and mechanics but what made me fall in love were the graphics, I'm assuming they were hand-painted and they look awesome! Sounds were great too. If I had to give any suggestion would be some way to see the planet's remaining life and some kind of movement drag for the ship when moving around the planet, maybe some fire rate to avoid the fire spray but overall really nice game. Congratulations!!

magus24 2020-05-11 01:25

Good game, i liked the mechanics of the water, keeping you watchful just shoot, good hand painted graphics, when I got a single piece it got easier, maybe you could balance the difficulty of the number of pieces

sinci1 2020-05-12 16:15

Good game! The artstyle is unique and has it's charm, I especially love how the game increases in complexity, but not being too overwhelming [well, the last level was a bit overwhelming]. The story while simple is nice as well! and I have to say that ending, I wasn't expecting that :p

Here are two bits of feedback that I have:

1. The last level was a bit too difficult, on the first try I died, and on the second at the start of the level I had 4 pieces of land, and at the end only one.

2. The controls are a bit confusing, especially on the last level when it gets really hectic, I think the controls could have maybe been a bit more simpler, maybe make it so that when you hold the down arrow it looks down, and when you let go of it it automatically looks back up instead of having to toggle looking up and down with the R key

Overall this is a fun and simple game that gets progressivly more difficult, and it kept me engaged till the end, I like it a lot :D
