Fun gameplay loop, loved the cards. Unfortunately not a lot of content to go on, and the camera movement kind of gave me motion sickness (which is weird to say considering this is a 2D dungeon crawl).

@amethystproductions Thanks for your review, I planned to add lot of content but the time defeated me. About the camera, mmhh I will try to add some options or make it less motioned in the next time ;)
Very nice concept! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/SIjkcYjuHDo
I really like the concept of this game (I also have a soft spot for card games) and this was a really fun game to try. The graphics are simple, but very nice and coherent. I also felt like I wanted more of it like @amethystproductions, but that you should consider a good thing and please continue development of it. I think that it could turn into a great game!
I love this mixed mechanics where you walk and use cards to fight ... this has great potential!
Nice game, liked that combination of dungeon crawler and cards
To much thanks @amethystproductions @simon-rahnasto @velvetlobster and @arvejeitor for your reviews! And @jupiter-hadley for the video (awesome as always )
I also released a timelapse of the development (20 hours of footage in 6 minutes)

Nice game! This has HEAPS of potential and innovation. I really like the combination of genres and all the little effects. There is lots of great strategy. I feel like you have something to be really proud of. Keep up the great work!
The concept has a lot of potential for a rogue like game, I like the sound track for the game and the art is nice. I would suggest faster movement and I never could seem to get the 130 gems needed to open the gate.
Nevermind I disenchated cards and killed the snowman. Exsepctans didnt seem to do anyhting when I clicked use though.
@digitaldude555 thanks for your review, in fact the movement was even slower in the first iterations but I did got bored while testing it so transitions times were decreased, but its true that probably is still slow
Glad to hear you slayed the schizophrenic snowman, his life was a little bit hard. And about the Exspectans card: it works and avoid that enemies hit you for 6 turns (you lose the effect when an enemy is slayed) but there was no time for adding feedback effects or an overlay that tells your current "powerups"
@plagueofminds also thanks! Actually I am really proud of it :smirk:
@digitaldude555 oh, I tried it and the Exspectans card is not working. If I found some free time I will try to release a post-jam version with this patched
Nice concept! The theme of sacrifice fits perfectly well here, with each card owning an advantage and a drawback. They're pretty fun and satisfying to use, especially the one that gives 5 more cards if you're lucky (or full of gems, if you know what I mean ;) ) but some of them cost a lot of gems to be upgraded. Thankfully, I didn't have to fight everyone to get new gems or cards. A problem however, is how slow the character is, and how narrow the FOV is. I easily lost track of where exactly I was after a few corridors. But still, that didn't take out much of my enjoyment.
Randomness is one of my guilty pleasures. It's never fair nor cruel, nor a good or a bad thing. It just exists, is extremely frustrating when you miss your chance, and extremely satisfying when you manage to pull off a boost or a extra item by pure luck. Your game hit a sensitive zone, so props for that :)
Nice game! I think you could do a little more with the sacrifice theme (maybe you can't have more than a certain number of cards?) but this was really cool and kept me hooked!
HAHAHA ok! I died in the game and it kinda happen the same to my game (there wasn't enough time to make a restart function when you finish the game). Good game, I like it the "sacrifice" system, it's one of the most original and the player care about that.
Nice Work! artwork looked great and the music fit the environment well!
Wonderful game! Graphic were amazing the sacrificing of cards felt intuitive, and i had a great time playing! Great job!
Good idea with cards and dungeon. This is a very worthy project in 72 hours!) I liked to play it)
I like the idea of the card game. The character could move little faster. Good luck!
Nice Game! I'm not a huge fan of randomness though, my strategy ended up being to upgrade the Sacrifis card and always have a 90% chance at getting 5 more cards with which to farm more crystals. I hit the 10% chance at one point and my whole hand got destroyed, forcing me to restart the run. All in all though, pretty fun! I know you are aware the Exspectans card isn't working, but for me it DID work, it just didn't delete it from my hand. So I was able to click "Use" and then "Cancel", and freeze monsters forever basically, lol
I love the game! Though the player movement is a bit weird, the game just looks so polished, it's very nice!
A fun and a very well made little game. Well done.
Pretty interesting game. It could definitely use a uh, less awkward movement system though. It's such a tedious process, with the speed, the vision, and also the noise. And also, it would be nice to have some sort of indication for which effect took place from random cards. For healing, sacrifice, and duplicate, it was pretty obvious, but other cards not. An end goal would've also done nicely. Maybe killing the snowman could've been a 'game end' screen. As for bugs, I've encountered two. One, is that the "enemy loses 6 turns" card does not remove itself from your inventory on use, nor does it leave the use/disenchant/cancel screen. Another is that the snowman is labelled as a cute ghost after it respawns.
The card and gem mechanics are very neat though, could definitely see where this goes as a full adventure game. Random equipment with enchantment cards? Progressively better cards as you get further into the game?
That is a great game :) I wish I could move freely when not in combat, like in Dungeons of Dreadmor, otherwise I really enjoyed my time!
Thanks everyone for the reviews & feedback
@nul thanks for your feedback and reporting the bugs, I will check them to know what is wrong and avoid it next time! Actually this was an idea I had from lot of time ago, originally it was a multiplayer/survival/card game with dungeon crawler too (with random generation inspired on the binding of isaac and spelunky)... A bit crazy but I had planned everything, even the name. When the theme was announced was the first and only thing I could think of. So yeah, probably will do it a full adventure or rogue like game in the future, seems like people enjoyed it ;)
