This is a really cool twist on the Bejeweled and rock paper scissors. Overall it was bit too slow paced for me, but I loved thinking through which option was best. Thanks for the fun game!

mrbamboo 2021-10-05 00:11

Nice to merge Nuclear and Rock paper scissors 👌

bhughes 2021-10-05 02:46

Really fun! So satisfying when you get a big chain. one note would be cool if once u select something you can pick any square on the direction you want to travel and it will go down that path.

dodori 2021-10-05 02:57

Wow! I really got lost in the gameplay. Clicked on it, and zoned out. Played for so long.. Was really fun! Cool entry!

chainsawmcd 2021-10-05 03:01

I could definitely see this in the app store.

enya454 2021-10-05 03:12

Incredibly addictive game. Could be a little bit more difficult IMO, but that's just me. Sound is simple but not bad in the slightest. Keep up the good work, great game!

jonah 2021-10-05 03:23

Fun game! It was a delight to play! Love the little animation/transitions.

Good job!

datadazer 2021-10-05 03:40

I got zoned into this game, I almost lost track of time. It's easy to just keep playing and playing. I love the art style too. A refreshing, innovative take on a match game. Well executed!

cirno 2021-10-05 03:55

Congratulations for your finishing the work! Impressive tiny game with nice sound effects. Hope that the nuclear can blast the nearby objects away.

Finally I have found how to use the nuke. It's really fun to achieve multiple blasts.

khaoz-fang 2021-10-05 03:59

Very fun puzzle! I love the mechanic

deav 2021-10-05 11:41

I really love the game's mechanics! It's very different compared to most of the games with a Candy-crush-styled board and I really enjoyed playing it :) Makes you think twice about your movements, the art style and music makes it all work together. Great entry, superb job!

glebshik 2021-10-05 17:09

Awesome gameplay! Unique idea, but it doesn't fit the topic

cjce 2021-10-05 17:09

I really liked the aesthetics of this game and it was quite fun and relaxing! It felt like something you would play in the 80s!

gorypixels 2021-10-05 17:30

Super interesting twist to that Candy Crush gameplay! Loved the visuals :)

lucasvb 2021-10-05 17:40

@mrbamboo, @dodori, @chainsawmcd, @jonah, @datadazer, @cirno, @khaoz-fang, @deav, @cjce, @gorypixels: Thank you! :)

@mega-marlon: Thank you for the feedback! The animation was indeed too slow as I was trying to understand a flickering bug when new pieces fell (you can see it in the video), and I thought it was related to animation speed as it improved when it was slower. Turned out to be related to the particle system and how sprites get removed from the poll. Should be faster paced now.

@bhughes: Thank you! @m1nus originally suggested that too, but I felt like it could be ambiguous, implying the player could choose how many pieces to take? We will think about it in any future remakes! There's probably a good way of doing it that doesn't feel too much like "thinking for the player" visually.

@enya454: Thanks! Yeah, balancing is probably off. We had many ideas of how to make it interesting, but many would take too long to implement. We'll try them out in any future remake!

@glebshik: Thank you! :) Yeah, we're a bit upset about it too! The original plan for the gameplay involved the computer doing counter-attacks and new pieces being added from every side, not just the top. The cyclic nature of Rock > Scissors > Paper > Rock would lead to weird chain reactions that would make everything chaotic, and more "unstable". But it turned out to be very difficult to implement on short notice, or even to conceptualize, so in the spirit of the Jam we opted for getting something playable out there that's fun, even if it meant sacrificing a little on the theme! We'll see how much of these ideas make it to a potential remake in the near future! :D

xeke-death 2021-10-05 18:04

Didn't mean to spend half an hour playing rock paper scissors, but I did. I enjoyed this a lot. The simple graphics work, the music never gets old, the game is good fun.

It looked like the metal blocks were spawning even though the bar at the bottom wasn't filling, not sure if intentional, but did help me actually stop playing to write this comment. CkDzabcjFv4AAAAASUVORK5CYII.png

lucasvb 2021-10-05 18:14

@xeke-death: Thanks! Glad you had fun! Nice score too! :) Yeah it's intentional for this release. The idea here was that as you begin playing the metal blocks become more likely to appear naturally, as a way to increase difficulty.

This is a bit of a hack, though, because the original intent of the game was for the computer to counter attack you after every move, so the metal bar would grow based on that attack, and difficulty could be tweaked based on some crude AI and/or making the metal bar easier to fill.

But there was no time left, so we went for something simple for now! :)

vicoptp 2021-10-05 19:01

I really sunk a lot of time in this game. I had a really fun experience :D

fabioecco 2021-10-06 00:52

Really good game, probably the one I spent more time playing, though I couldnt see how it fits the theme. Good job.

justcallmebb 2021-10-06 04:18

Love this! Rock paper scissors as a nearly universal concept made this really easy to pick up and understand, even without reading directions. The pixel art is very good and although the music is a tad repetitive, I don't think it's necessarily bad. I found the game oddly relaxing...

Also, I felt the need to show a gif of the most satisfying chain I got while playing :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: atomicrps.gif

m1nus 2021-10-06 04:30

@justcallmebb it's so good when this happens! Glad you liked it!

goddoesplaydice 2021-10-06 14:16

Good realization of the idea of "three in a row"! But I didn't really understand what the sliders at the bottom were doing. It was just fun to play using the core mechanics.

namnam 2021-10-06 14:18

I liked it, very nice, remind me a bit of grindstone, I just feel like it could be improuve with better controle like slide in a direction rather than click. It would be a very nice mobile game :)

pink-shard-games 2021-10-06 14:25

This game was really addictive. Simple yet really fun, and a nice take on the theme. Awesome job!

quoc 2021-10-06 14:26

Wow this is a very cool and addicted game. I really enjoyed playing it! :)

jonas-michael 2021-10-06 14:32

Very relaxing and enjoyable game! The idea is simple, but the gameplay can draw you in with no problems. I would have wished for some combinations leaving stronger explosives, as a way to make the game more fast-paced, but the game is nice in its present state as well. Good job and thank you for making it!

hilkojj 2021-10-06 14:32

Well, I *am* procrastinating now... :P

lucasvb 2021-10-06 14:33

@goddoesplaydice: Thanks! The power bars at the bottom indicate whether a nuke will drop or a metal bar will drop next. The nuke bar fills as you do good attacks and combos, or explode a nuke.

The metal bar fills every time you make a mistake (your move ends up with your piece beaten). (If you do a combo attack that ends with your piece beaten, the metal bar fills with the combo too.) The original intent was for the CPU to counter-attack every move, so that's what would fill the metal bar, making the game more and more difficult with time, requiring strategy.

But due to time-constraints, I ended up making metal blocks appear randomly more frequently despite the metal bar level. So it kind of ends up confusing to have the bar around. But it's too late now to change. :P

@namnam: Thanks! Ah, I never thought about sliding! That's a good point. We focused on desktop, so the thought of using the mouse like that never occurred to me. Could work in a future mobile version! Thanks for the suggestion!

@pink-shard-games, @quoc: Thank you so much! :)

morepixels 2021-10-06 14:37

Absolutely got lost in the gameplay! Fun mechanics and very chill music. A joy to play!

micheleleva 2021-10-06 14:39

I don't normally like puzzle games but this one is one of the few I really liked. The sprites are nice, the sounds and the music fit the mood perfectly, and the steel block and nuclear tiles add a layer of strategy that makes this game truly interesting. Excellent job!

bakenshake 2021-10-06 14:42

Clever little game here! It was smart to use rock, paper, scissors as it's a rather universal game. The UI is a bit unclear at the bottom, but I figured it out. I understand the time constraints. Good job!

kenforest 2021-10-06 14:55

At first you might think that this is a normal three-on-three game, but here's a really interesting mechanic.

justinmullin 2021-10-06 14:57

This is by far the most compelling "match puzzle" style game I've seen in Ludum Dare, and honestly with some tweaks a contender for most compelling match puzzle I've seen period. These games so often suffer from combos popping in randomly or other sorts of variance that make them relatively mindless unless you're really dedicated. This game had me planning a few moves ahead consistently, and I felt like it was worth the work. There aren't flashy chain-reaction combos like in some games, but collapsing a long chain of tiles across the board was way more rewarding for how much it felt like I was the one who set it up rather than stumbling into a nice pattern by chance.

My main complaint here is just the length of the game; others have commented on this as well so I won't harp on it, but I struggled to see the game through to the end after I'd started to succumb to too many metal blocks, just because I knew I wouldn't be getting too many points but the slog of clicking through all the little 1-2 tile chains was a lot. I played for a very long time regardless.

The art and music are great for this too, very satisfying to clear tiles, and the "heartbeat" music track was very conducive to a focus mindset. =) I especially love the shine animations, a nice little touch (though I did keep thinking the movement out of the corner of my eye earlier in the game was a sign that the game was progressing while I took some time to think, leading me to rush a bit before I realized it was just an aesthetic touch).

I would definitely return to this entry for a version 2!

c64cosmin 2021-10-06 15:03

This is such a great game! Such a nice twist to rock paper scissors, this has great potential and so many new mechanics could be added. Loved the graphics. Splendid!Screenshot from 2021-10-06 18-01-19.png

cameron-paxton 2021-10-06 15:07

A really unique take on rock, paper, scissors, but very intuitive. It wasn't immediately apparent what the progress bars at the bottom were, but that was easy enough to figure out after a few minutes.

I think if I had a gripe, it would be that I would prefer to click & drag in a direction, instead of click, and then click again in a direction.

Overall a lot of fun. Nice work!

wouter52 2021-10-06 15:11

Love your game! It plays and feels very solid and it makes it very easy to loose lots of time haha! I could'nt really find the theme in this one, but as I said: I like it :)

izaya 2021-10-06 15:12

The game mechanism is solid. I think if the item beat others horizontally, the left space it pass through will be filled with upper item, it can be more funny if you allow the chain-movement contact of these items.

rodel77 2021-10-06 15:16

Amazing game, one of the bests jam games I've seen. I can see myself playing this for hours.

Atomic Rock Paper Scissors by 1ucasvb, m1nus - Google Chrome_2.jpg

I had a lot of fun playing this. I was a bit worried that there would be no endgame condition with continuous perfect play, but the faster and faster trickle in of metal plates even without errors (which I still occasionally made even after I understood how things worked) made it a really good experience; slowly ramping up the difficulty while giving a clear horizon for the end of play. I wish there was an endgame screen with detection of whether any move is possible or not. I think I set up four or five entire columns or lines to break at once, it was very satisfying. I wish it had just a little more juice, maybe with some numbers popping for the score showing an increase in score, little things like that. But it was still super polished, a very complete, self contained, entirely intuitive experience. Controls felt a tiny bit wonky at first, but at the end it just felt natural. I liked the sound design and the tiny bits of polish like that little screenshake and the occasional shine on the plates and gauges. Main gripe would be that I don't feel like the connexion to the theme is very strong! But otherwise excellent entry.

glenugie 2021-10-06 15:23

I like the rock paper scissors twist on normal match 3 gameplay, and the theming on this one works well. The combos felt satisfying to pull off, but I would've loved to see them be even juicier - it might've helped to distract from the relatively slow start to the game (the strategy elements don't really come into their own until you've built up a few metal blocks. That said, this is a fun little game that I could easily sink a half hour into, good work!

juanlu 2021-10-06 15:25

Great game! Quite simple and yet I played more than I expected (I don't even like this genre so much). Music is pretty basic but, honestly, the game doesn't need more than that, as it does its job while not being distracting. Graphics and sound are nice too. I hope you can complete the game to your original plan.

geryon-games 2021-10-06 15:37

This is an awesome idea and a really fun execution! Great job, I'm looking forward to your expansion!

nanda-sbr 2021-10-06 15:42

Really cool game ! Cool graphic design and game design over all nice work !

roelosaurus 2021-10-06 17:10

Clever and cute.

uglyswedishfish 2021-10-06 17:19

This was fantastic, lovely twist to rock paper scissors!

locked.PNG The final position I got to, I am actually quite proud of that score.

blake-mullin 2021-10-06 19:55

This mashup is a great twist on two different classics, it's super satisfying to hit a big chain. Everything that made it in is crisp and enjoyable, would be really exciting to see where this idea could lead if it was built out bigger.

gmedley 2021-10-06 21:22

Yay a puzzle game! Props on doing this in your own engine too wow, my ONLY critique is I was hoping for an absolute jamming vaporwave track but stuff like that is usually outside the scope of these jams haha (unless there was music and I wasn't hearing it?? I see people mentioning it but all i heard was an ambient drone sorta thing).

aspabot 2021-10-06 21:27

This was interesting but I feel like is infinite, I played like 15 minutes without problems. Nice game!

jahwffrey 2021-10-06 21:37

What a fresh idea for a falling blocks game. At first I was really annoyed that I just had to "get luck" to get a nuke in a good spot to block up blocks, but then I realized you could do a vertical move just as your bar filled to guarantee you'd get the nuke in a particular column. I've got nothing negative to say, this is a really clever idea executed very well!

baturinsky 2021-10-06 21:40

Pretty great. Could use some more bonuses for bigger combos. Nukes are disappointedly weak.

lucasvb 2021-10-06 21:40

@gmedley: Hah, sorry, but we didn't want to grab an existing track or use existing assets. I ended up whipping a shitty John Carpenter-ish loop, and I'm not really a composer! But we promise future releases will definitely have some bangin' music!

@alex-aspa: As it is, the game starts adding metal blocks randomly with increasing probability. At some point it is literally impossible to continue! The trick is getting nukes early on to ensure you get rid of them, as later in the game it's too difficult to do anything. But this was not the intended gameplay, it's just the hacky version I managed to implement on time!

@Baturinsky: Yeah, totally agree! The game needs a lot of balancing still! I ended up implementing these features at the last hours. I'm working on a post-LD release of the game with the intended features and some tweaks to the gameplay, and nukes will be a lot more plentiful and fun to play around with!

gamepopper 2021-10-06 21:42

A clever mix of rock-papers-scissors and match-3. I feel like without any pressure to make a move, the game feels really slow, it'd be nice if perhaps a random move could happen if you take too much time making a decision.

gamepopper 2021-10-06 21:42

debone 2021-10-06 23:03

Do I hold the highest score? ;P

Screen Shot 2021-10-07 at 00.50.22.png

Great game! One of the few that I played that feel complete for the core mechanic. I spent an hour playing and I was enjoying doing the strategies on what beat what and how I wanted to build the columns and so on. I read some comments and I agree that the end game is a bit boring and you get dragged by the small exchanges just to finish. Twice I crossed the 100k and I was "ok... do I want to really push this one? Maybe I can call it done and move to the next game?" I end up finishing it, but I felt the weight to extract each small point. I think this one will be an interesting problem to solve if you will work more on it.

gus-goucher 2021-10-06 23:35

Love the game! The graphics are really nice, some excellent pixel art you got going there! Very addictive, even if I'm not sure what the goal is. One of my favorites!

onlyallygrace 2021-10-07 00:15

Fun game! Easy to get lost in the gameplay which is nice. Really enjoy how easy it is to understand and the puzzle of figuring out my next step. Music is fine if a bit repetitive, but the sound effects are great! Overall it's a really great jam - congrats!!

vivyhasadream 2021-10-07 02:48

the mechanism is simple but very addictive to play. the early stage is easy, but getting harder and harder when you get too many metal blocks. you have to manage with care. great job! congrats. WeChat Screenshot_20211006224545.png

a-jeannerod 2021-10-07 11:54

Loved your entry ! Nice concept, really simple to dive into. And yet the difficulty quickly builds up. Nice graphics and music, well done !

thegamerasd 2021-10-07 12:38

Really cool game, I like the mechanics.

qookie 2021-10-07 20:01

Really lovely game! I like the combination of rock-paper-scissors and match-3. I absolutely love the aesthetic and the background audio track. Would be nice to have a game over screen when you run out of moves to play though.

jnur 2021-10-07 20:22

Such a brilliant idea and great execution! So polished too with effects and the graphics, doesn't even feel like a jam game. I think someone already mentioned it, but not being able to "swipe" wherever in the right direction to move was the only gripe I had, and even that I quickly got used to. This could definitely even work as a mobile game, just slap in a challenge mode or something like that and it would be a nice little time waster on bus rides etc arps.JPG

chuchugeralt 2021-10-07 22:41

I really like the idea to take the classical game of rock-paper-scissors and add a twist. The graphic was great! I hope you are proud of your game!

kr4ft3r 2021-10-07 23:03

Pretty neat idea, and graphics & sounds are well done. The color palette is quite relaxing. Gameplaywise, my only complaint is it takes a bit too long until player starts getting into real trouble.

2ccs 2021-10-07 23:08

This is a great puzzle game. I was hooked for a while, but like @kr4ft3r, my only gripe is that the game is a bit too easy for too long. Maybe more features like bigger bombs, music changes, or other possible events would make the game more dynamic! All in all, I actually like everything about this game, from the looks to the sound.

ddrkirbyisq 2021-10-07 23:17

This has got to be the most suspenseful rock-paper-scissors music ever made haha.

Pretty fun! Feels like it might be fun with some little extra oomph to add that addictive gambling-like element of crazy chains (either by luck or by skill) a la bejeweled. As is the gameplay is more slow-paced and strategic, which definitely works, but maybe I'm just too lazy to bother thinking out every one of my moves as much as I should ;P Sometimes simpletons just want big stuff go boom, you know what I mean?

Still, there's nothing wrong with what you have, it makes sense and I can see it being a pretty good time-killer. I almost wish I had an option for a smaller board so that I could progress to the end-game faster.

rosymaple 2021-10-07 23:21

10/10 amazing game

zimny11 2021-10-07 23:41

Great idea for the game and well executed too! I was thinking for a while: "Is there something to stop you for playing forever?" but then the metal boxes start to showing up :)

xpoho 2021-10-08 04:56

Замечательная интерпретация игры "три-в-ряд". Жду расширения игры!

cakts 2021-10-08 14:23

fantastic concept, with a fantastic execution. It isn't often you get both of those in a game jam. Great graphics, sound design, gameplay, and really cool custom engine. Great work

tomer-cool 2021-10-08 18:06

Fun game with great concept, very addicting. It would be cool if the size of the atomic explosion would be greater depending on the chain that set it up

robindbois 2021-10-08 19:07

I stop early because a didn't have a lot of time and I understand that if I wanted to eat diner before 10pm, I needed to stop ;p I'll come back later and try I highscore.

Nice idea and great realisation

lucasvb 2021-10-08 19:11

@tomer-cool: That's a great idea! I will add it to the post-LD "director's cut" release! :D

minibobbo 2021-10-08 19:14

Nice work! I read some of the other comments and don't have too much to add, but I think it could be cool to have a click and drag to fire the rock/paper/scissors. So click to select, drag and release to fire. It would save you 50% of the mouse clicks!

valentines 2021-10-09 01:00

Very clever idea !! Really liked this game, great job

exmxpx 2021-10-09 01:12

New twist on an old classic, you knocked it out of the park on this one.

dingledorf 2021-10-09 03:34

Ended up spending a much longer time playing than I was expecting. Implementationally it's very well-made; the music, while minimal, suits it very well, the sound effects are good, and the gameplay is well-done. Good work!

jackiex9527 2021-10-09 04:34

Love the concept of the game and it is really funny and relaxing to play, nice job!

lucasvb 2021-10-09 04:50

@tomer-cool Check it out! The first implementation of it, for a future release! :D

bignukes_smaller (2).gif

lauchsuppe 2021-10-09 04:58

Well polished game; it's really satisfying to create setups for chain reactions. Had a lot of fun!

keichits 2021-10-09 05:32

Very good graphics and mechanics =). Congrats for the great entry! I realy like it!

proxy-games 2021-10-09 05:33

I have to be honest-I played this game longer than I intended to. This is a really satisfying, polished experience. The sprite work is appealing and the objects are very distinct. The camera shake and sound effects make explosions *very* satisfying. The gameplay itself is similar to games like Bejeweled, but manages to have it's very own, unique flair to the genre via a game that literally everyone knows how to play. As a result, this game is really beginner-friendly, as well. I could see this expanding into a full game at one point or another, but even in it's current form it is a very addicting and enjoyable experience. Really nice work!

enad96 2021-10-09 07:43

This is very satisfying. Make a mobile app with adds and you can probs retire off it lol.

tomer-cool 2021-10-09 12:37

@lucasvb this looks super satisfying, thanks for taking the time and listening to suggestions!

retrome 2021-10-09 14:57

Nice fresh mechanic! Pretty atmospheric graphics and and audio. Sometimes it feels hard to concentrate, I think it is due to similarity of colors of paper and scissors.

cebula 2021-10-09 18:20

pretty good fun :D

rengo 2021-10-09 18:41

really nice idea! graphics are good. but the game lacks variety

jake-summer 2021-10-09 19:17

the graphics look awesome!

human-writes-code 2021-10-10 06:38

Absolutely fantastic game! A truly innovative take on an established genre of game with heaps of polish and an excellent progression of difficulty! I thoroughly enjoyed that! Well done!

anaxie-studio 2021-10-10 07:30

Really cool unique concept! The game is easy to understand and adds a neat spin on both rock-paper-scissors and match three games and the music is very atmospheric. The updates you've shown look really neat too. Good job!

taffaz 2021-10-10 09:33

Great combination of two classic games

stefan-jovanovic 2021-10-10 21:37

Really nice and addicting game! Before I knew it I was playing it for half an hour. Nice graphics, well done!

ismael-rodriguez 2021-10-10 22:30

Super chill and fun concept. The theme feels a little under-represented. The juiciness of everything feels great. The music is fitting and well made for someone who's never made music, but its also not necessary.

As good as the pixel art is, and as much as I love pixel art, I think a cleaner, more hi-rez modern look would be a better for this genre.

Good game overall!

polkoii 2021-10-11 03:39

Oh wow! This immediately caught my eye. Very well done art and a well executed concept! Love the mechanics! Just as you said, the soundtrack could use some work (that's fine!). I'd imagine that the music would react when a nuke explodes maybe getting louder or more intense! I think combos would fit this game a lot as well! Maybe making it so combos make special pieces or charge a line.

Great work! Had a lot of fun :D

euler-moises 2021-10-11 03:47

What an interesting game! Really very original! Congratulations on the result. Is very good!

lumbigui 2021-10-11 21:46

I tought this is not my kind of game until a play yours! Very addicting gameplay and cool idea. Keep the good work.

zacharypinkham 2021-10-12 21:41

Wonderfully cool little game, the mechanics were simple but deep. I never felt like I couldn't do something to wrack up points and it having the balancing act between getting more nuclear bombs and preventing steel blocks from falling was very satisfying. All around just really really well done, great work!

cakestorm 2021-10-13 07:46

Awesome game! I loved how the mechanics naturally balanced themselves out - if you had too many scissors, one rock was all you needed to clear them out (and earn a ton of points!). It led to some interesting trade offs as well, it was very strategic! I really liked how methodical the endgame got as well, it was interesting going from setting up long chains to trying to avoid trapping any of your pieces under blocks. The graphics were very good, nice and readable, and I liked the little frame around your selected piece, particularly with those sound effects on the arrows! Overall really fun puzzle game, great work!

Cool concept.

I thought at first that this was a match-3 game, and it looked like the actual rules were more complicated. But there is no chain reaction, it feels like something is missing. Maybe every time 3 pieces are destroyed in a row a new piece is created that moves in the vertical direction. Maybe when the bomb explodes it creates four corresponding pieces moving in four directions. Chain reaction is the soul

lucasvb 2021-10-17 10:14

@xiyou: Nah, we were never trying to do a typical "match 3" game. Quite the opposite, we wanted to move away from all the cliches. One of the first things we wrote down in our design sketches was "player has to ***avoid*** chain reactions", which was how we approached the "Unstable" theme originally. However, most of our ideas did not make the cut.

So the decision to *not* have chain reactions in the player's favor was deliberate from the start, and a central point in our game's design. We wanted the player to be in full control of what's going on, and chain reactions to typically have unintended *negative* consequences.

The point was that you could not rely on things randomly going your way, like in typical matching games where you earn a lot of points for doing nothing. You have to earn your combos, and if you don't act carefully you miss out on most of the bones the game throws at you.

This is even clearer in the newer post-Jam version (to be released soon). Having bombs create a chain explosion is a core aspect of the mechanic, but it's not always desirable to do it. In many cases your strategy is to work around the bombs to prevent a premature explosion. It's much more challenging and interesting this way.

This is also why we did not want to include timed events/moves. We wanted the player to be in total control of the game. It's supposed to be a thoughtful action puzzle.

Wow, great job on this and I appreciate the literal use of rock-paper-scissors. I really liked the background music. I felt it gave the game a great sense of dread and impending doom. Overall very polished and well done.

ava-skoog 2021-10-18 12:21

Really good! Clever combo of old games, love to see it. Easy to get into but last a long time. Super satisfying getting those long chains. 💜 Suppose it only lacks a bit of polish, maybe some nice music, but building it as much from scratch as you say you did is impressive in itself and I imagine that ate away at the time you had. Liked this one a lot!

This is a really cool concept, I could definitely see this turning into a mobile game, well done! It was really satifying to get combos. It would be nice for there to be more varieties of items and/or powerups. Great job!

mharring 2021-10-19 00:09

Nice take on a familiar genre! As others have mentioned, this could easily become a mobile game. The visuals, graphics and audio fit the game very well. The simple but addicting gameplay kept me playing for much longer than I expected! Great job!

sinclairstrange 2021-10-19 14:54

Honestly an really nice, easy to pick up and play puzzle game! Could easily sink a hour or two into this at a later date, reminds me of the time I used to play Columns on my ol' Mega Drive as a kid. Really nice audio too, all round really good game!

splitpainter 2021-10-20 17:20

This is a game I can see myself coming back over and over to play more sessions of it. Nice mix up of rock paper scissors, match 3, Bejeweled. Not only that, the visuals are <3

Really neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/bBL_dduqErg

This game was so good, as soon as I got the hang of it my brain like flicked a switch and I was looking for the combos. Simple yet original idea, and the audio that goes with it is also perfect.
