The beginning made laugh out loud and the music made be rock out. Good stuff but I feel bad for the little hamster
The music building was cool but it honestly took me a while to figure out what to do with this one which took me out of the experience. Great style and atmosphere though
Really cool idea! But OOOOO BOY! I was not very good at it. I like the complexity of it.
I was not expecting that demon boy to turn into a whole bunch of green demon souls and murder me... 10/10 would get murdered again! Seriously. Good work! Well Done!
I love love love this game. It is so brilliant. When all of the mechanics of the game clicked it clicked sooooooo well. Clever truly clever.
Brave call to try and make an adventure game in a limited time. Good work. I did however get stuck in a door way and couldn't move which caused me to have to restart but I get it bugs happen. Great work here.
Wow! Just a perfect execution all around! Sound is perfect, art is perfect, game mechanics perfect. Seriously well done. You win!
I had fun with this one. Controls took a bit to get use to and the offset gun was hard to get use to. The title screen was quite stunning I like it a lot.
Cool vibe! Nice simple and clear controls. Took me a while to grasp the hide mechanic but once I got it it was quite fun
This is a truly beautiful experience! It actually moved me and I welled up a bit. Truly great stuff here. The only thing I think needs adjusting is that you can out run the camera. Seriously good work you have a true piece of art here.
This so awesome. I hope you flush it out and include a whole bunch of different genres every time he gets bored of one. Keep it up this is really cool
That MOON is terrifying! I cant wait for you to add audio I think it will really tie the whole game together. Well done!
This such a fun use of the theme! Honestly you have a great coding teaching tool here very akin to Number Munchers. I like and I want more! Also shout out from AB Dev!
Curving the bullets looks so cool. Well done
This is awesome just finished rolling up my character. I picked an assembler. Gonna gather some friends and try it out. Great work here. ttrpg made for a game jam bold move!
@doctormozart I'll keep you posted.
How? How did you do it? You made pressing two buttons over and over and over and over again a BLAST! This game is funny, charming, clever and beautiful. It made me laugh out loud and the pixel art is truly wonderful. Well done now let me go ice my fingers.
This is pretty good game for only pressing one button. I liked it! It is super fun to bounce from one side of the map to the other.
Great art and atmosphere.
Very cool. You should continue with this idea. With some serious polish time this really could be something. Great pixel art! Also add a co-op mode and you have my money.
"You died of being eaten" Pro tip: Don't try to pet the monsters. Seriously good work here had a blast playing. The 3d models in this game are really well done.
Game made me mad but in a good way. Some seriously great level design going on here.
This is great but it reminded me that I suck at Loops so thanks for that! Seriously though good work this was a clever idea.
Pretty good. I wanted to build a full train around the entire circle but alas I wasn't very good
The mood and that gorgeous well crated Atari feel! Well done you have made quite the gem here. As someone who else attempted the Atari feel I know how hard it is to pull off. Great work.
This was alot of fun. Including the move keys in the sequence that you had to type was clever it made you think about your position as well. My major feed back is that the game is way too loud almost blew out my ears when I typed in the first sequence.
Music GREAT! Art GREAT! I loved the rhythm that you get into when you play this game it make it have a great game flow!
I have never had so much fun failing at a game over and over game before in my entire life. Well done
Good work here! This is really really cool it was super fun to take out the enemies and the self made sound effects were a good laugh and I can tell you enjoyed making them! Good stuff here keep it up!
It like it. Good solid puzzles and intuitive game design. Well done! It is just straight up well made.
This made me laugh really hard. I honestly sucked at this game and that is on me. I loved the Papers Please feel to this game and I'm excited to see more. You mentioned on your stream that you were continuing on with this idea and are aiming for a steam release. Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing more.
The mechanics are super fun and I could see a full game of this.
The music! The MUSIC! Soooo good. Simple but awesome. Also the Pixel art is extremely well done. I got the neutral and the bad ending gonna come back to this one and try to figure out the other endings.
At first I was like " umm ok what is going on" Then I collected the first record and the music kicked in and I fell in love with this game. Super good work here. Building up the music while dodging bullets felt so smooth and fun.
This is not too bad. I think you are aware of some of the issues like the x /z switched, the ending not ending the game and the music being too loud. But it is a game jam these things happen. The pixel art and the old school spic music was a nice touch. Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing what you make next.
Nice twist on the tower defense genre. I wish there was more to it but limited time am I right. Spinning the turret around and chasing the enemies was fun.
Nice work here and a great execution of the theme. I couldn't get past level 3 but that is cause I wasn't very good at it.
Took me a bit to figure out. Cool ideas though mixing portal movement and a the looping mechanic. Dope Wizard sprite btw!
So much fun this game put a huge smile on my face. I was gonna say it was too simple for my taste but honestly the simplicity is what made it so enjoyable.
Great Mood and Atmosphere!
Wow this is a fully flushed out experience. Well done! Please make more games like this it is a cool and unique style and I would love to see more games done like this.
@ukulelefury Hey thanks for playing and giving us feed back! We worked hard on the mood so I'm glad you liked it. The objective of the game is knock the green blocks into the yellow bar. If you go through the door ways on the outside of the room then touch the blocks you can change how the green blocks move.
@doctormozart I'm so glad it scared you lol. Honestly the manual may be my favorite part it really adds to the retro feeling. Thanks for playing!
Wow! Just wow! A shockingly beautiful game and using the death mechanics to further to story!!!! Well done! A great work of art here
Not bad. I liked the ghost loop mechanic that this game has. Could use some work on the level design and character design but that improves through iteration. Keep at it this could be something great!
@mrmaico Hey no problem! Keep in mind I did enjoy the game! I found the level design was generic and what you would expect from a ghost loop style game. Would like to have seen you take it in a new direction and also allow the level design its self add to the the narrative. Make it feel like I'm playing a ghost. I felt like all the levels were driving me up instead of letting the mechanics try out moving in different directions.
Again great work I just wanna see you take it further cause you have a really cool game here.
That song is so well made! and the pixel art is quite nice! Fun, Quick, Silly. Good Work!
Such are charming art style and fun playful music. Could use some polish and a start menu with some instructions.
Cool game right here. There is something about the triangle ships with an eye in it that creeps me out. I like it!
That background sprite! Wow!
THIS GAME IS SOOOO GOOD!!!! It oozes with style and the music OH the music so good. It has a great arcade feel and could see it becoming a great vr game.
This is awesome!!! The mechanics are super fun and easy to pick up. Reminds of of good ol arcade games. This would have been a great quarter muncher back in the day. Add a good soundtrack put it in a cabinet and sell it to your local bar asap!
This game is oozing with character and that music is so much fun. While the gameplay was a bit simplistic and easy to cheese it still was quite enjoyable. With some polish it could be a fun time sink and a great score chasing game.
Wow wow wow! I love the entire vibe of this game. Plus I was able to play it on my phone via web browser. There is quite the learning curve but once you get it the game becomes incredible! Gonna come back and play more for sure!
The creature design was top notch and I enjoyed the atmosphere.
The gameplay however was quite dull Abit too slow. I see you were trying to build tension and that's great just make sure the players still have something to strive for. Even text files to find would have went along way.
Great mood and you tackled unreal 4 so good on you.
Now get out there and review some games so you can get a rating!
Congrats you are the first LD49 game to take my breath away. The pure beauty you got out of white rectangles is truly unbelievable. Then you go an mix in a perfectly fitting audio scape. Chef's kiss!
Oh right the gameplay. Yah had a blast here! Would have loved a double jump but it looks like you are aware and are going to add it post jam.
Great work looking forward to seeing more.
This game has such an epic and cinematic feel to it. The drama mask is a great character and the narrative made me laugh out loud but uneasy the whole time.
The hand mechanic however took away from the experience I never once felt in control plus it bugged out and disappeared on my so I had to restart twice.
Still I loved this one and want to see more.
The graphics are wonderful, the beats are jammin, plus a mix of Halloween vibes. I wish there was more gameplay but it's a gamejam am I right?
Made with no time and money made me laugh!
Not bad for 24 hrs I can see what you were going for here and with some more time you probably would have nailed it. The game just needs more to it but hey it's a game jam Once you get some rotation and fast fall this could be fun.
Wow I don't know what to say ... The fact that I struggled to communicate with the cosmic entity really sums it up. Congrats on tackling this idea I don't think I would have been so brave.
Positive- the concept is superb Negatives- the dialog choice made it hard to understand what I was saying and it made it difficult to know how I was progressing.
But honestly that was the point communication would be difficult in this scenario. Too bad it wasn't very fun to play.
Not that I want this read as a negative review cause I did love the idea and couldn't do it better myself.
The art style is quite nice to look at but I struggled with the core gameplay. The jumping felt strange and floaty to me.
The core concept about the unstable core is great idea for this jam. Good thinking. Keep it up.
The physics in this game made me laugh out loud. There is something about just throwing the boxes as hard as you can. The puzzles were great and just hard enough. Great work could see this as a fun time sink.
That glitch effect when the level changes is top notch! Gives the game such a unique vibe. I think the game needs some more feed back when you get hurt and shoot. Also I started the game right on top of some enemies so the rng could use a bit of work as well. Very cool stuff here well done.
Hahahahah! Too fun! After playing carefully the first time then I just started hucking crap into the box and had a blast.
Great work.
The chaotic energy and gorgeous pixel art makes this game a complete package in my books!
12 hours this much polish! You know you did good here. I would like to see what you could do with a not so established genre and a full weekend of work.
Keep it up good stuff here.
Pretty decent manager game you have here. These aren't my kind of games but what you have here is executed well. Could use some music and a more interesting ui. Aside from that well done I'm sure this kind of game is difficult to pull off during a jam.
"as a powerful wizard" That's how I knew I wanted to play.
Building a town while dropping houses on a town is alot of fun here. Chill beats chill game play. And then a dragon went on a murder spree!!!
Seriously though well done I hope you had a much fun making the game as I did playing it!
That player sprite wow 10/10 just oozing with character. This take me right back to early 90s computer games well done you nailed that vibe. The downside is the controls were abit to slippery for my liking it made the platforming not very fun. Love the concept just needs a bit more time to refine it.
Ha! This is funny. I felt like I was really selecting the theme this year.
I guess games made out of spite can be fun.
Funny stuff here
Ummmm. what can I say except WOW! Just some good ol fashion fun here. Difficult but I never once felt like it was unfair. Seriously 10/10 here and the mouth made sound effects are the icing on the cake here. One day I hope to play this in VR with motion controls so I can slam my hands down then take off like Superman.
@slimmerburger VR do it!!!
This is it! This is he just one more kinda game I was looking for this jam! Well done all around great game, fun chains, just wow. Now hurry up and ship it.
A typing infinite runner what a great idea! You got alot of tension out of just words on a screen well done. I like this one alot. I hope you get a chance to come back to the idea and add more choices. Fully flushing this game out would make for a fun time killing game.
Not alot of games that go through a jam end up being this high quality. The pixel art is perfection well done. I could see this being a great mobile game that I log into everyday please do something great with this foundation!
Edit: Good luck on the over 100 ratings you are so close!!!
@alina-baybulatova thank you so much. It was fun to make so I'm glad it was fun to play.
@cor-3 Thank you we worked hard on the polish of this game so I'm glad it worked out. And yes there is a manual and yes it is our favorite part. As for your note about the controls I get it. We tried to emulate older computer game control style and the downside of doing that we also emulated the frustrating aspect of those old control schemes as well. Which causes the game to be a tad tiring to control. We discussed WASD but opted out to keep it authentic but yes including it is a good call.
@der-mondhase AH the beast itself gave you problems! A good tactic is try to get some distance from it. Thank you for playing I'm glad you enjoyed the direction and mood we put a lot of work into it.
@disn Technically we pulled it off into 2 since we had to work Monday and couldn't work on the game. I appreciate you playing B1OCK and digging the aesthetic
@mechazawa Thank you! Yes the controls can get a bit tiring agreed. But hey we can just pretend that we were trying to make you feel like the character in the game and exploring is exhausting. Right? You buy that right...?
@dannyk1994 Glad you enjoyed it! Yah I was watching your stream when it happened the beast got you on the last proof.
@adrenallen I'm glad the slow deliberate story telling came through. Yah a few more generic items in the rooms would have really tied the whole experience together.
@dock-frankenstein Thanks for checking out the manual and getting into the mood of the game. Smaller environment eh? Hmmm...
@vsi Glad you liked it. We wanted to take an minimalist approach at horror to see if we could get scares out of a simple graphic style. Hard to pull off but I think we nailed it.
@bluecold007 Unforgettable Immersion!!! That is probably the best praise we could get thank you so much! I'm glad you stuck with the game and figured it out after getting lost at the beginning. And yes the control scheme has some major fatigue issues.
@the-lame-brain Glad someone likes the arrow keys. Finally!!! Yah the alternate endings take a bit to find it involves a bit of backtracking and remembering items that you have examined. If you would like to know how to get those ending and want to revisit the game let me know and I'll tell you how. Privately I don't want to spoil it for others. HINT: Notice the Red walls and check back later. We made it with Game Maker Studio we felt like the EXE format added another scary layer to it.
I played the mobile version and I'm surprised at how well the controls converted over. The game is simple and polished I like it. The soundtrack had me grooving.
Landing a double jump sometimes is tricky but I think it just needed a bit more time to tweak.
Well done!
I did not think I was going to be playing golf inside of a human today. Great idea. Great execution. And now let us all sing together.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... OW!
Great work here the music is fantastic and the art direction really ties everything together. The level design is well thought out that gives the game an overall difficult but fair feeling.
The negatives I think the jump speed and the gravity speed a too strong. I think a slower fall speed would have let the player have alot more control. Also the limited amount of squares you need to place felt a bit too tight since alot of the additional squares relied on you having to use a square to get to or were hard to get too.
Aside from that amazing work I had a blast playing!
Umm. Wow it really does set a mood and dives in. It's hypnotic yet unsettling. A fantastic art piece you have here.
What a pure blast this one is! A fighting game for a game jam entrance how wonderful! When the bird jumps up to the next fight it really ties the whole game together. I'd mention the slightly awkward controls but looks like you have noted it and are aware. Great Job!
Hey! This is really fun! I may have been way too careful though cause I kept running out of time. Gotta pick up the pace Paper Boy! Small note the E to talk to the oldman was hard to see so I kept blazing past him and having to restart. I think if you had it autofire when you went past him players would be less confused. Great job like I said had fun playing this one.
PS. The old man sound effect made me smile!
