funny game
ok really cool game! very unique and the music is so fitting. one problem tho,, I wouldve explained the way to play it a bit more, it took me a while to get it and I still had a hard time connecting the starts? Im not sure i understand the hint tool. but overall pretty calm and cool i like your take on the theme :)
Beautiful game! Everything feels very carefully crafted, and little touches like the background of the webpage are really nice. I immediately noticed the way the sprite sways from side to side and I just adored how it looks... While the core mechanic felt innovative, I think things could tie in together better a little more! I felt a little lost initially and wandered off far.. but I think if there was some way to direct the player more while also being enjoyable, I think that'd be cool!
Very good game, especially the music!
@arnold-990 Thank you!
@creepyface Thank you so much for your feedback! We actually updated the "How to Play" on both this page and in the game in response to your review! We hope you enjoyed it and, if you didn't finish yet, will try!
@anniv4x Thanks so much for your thorough review! We tried to add as many little details as we could to really capture the ambience... It is really easy to get lost in the game, but there is the "radar" (using Enter) that points you towards the next constellation!
@psv-games-studio Thank you! Definitely check out the artist we used if you like the track. We aspire to get that kind of audio design one day! haha
This was a very zen like game. It really does give the feeling of deep space. Also this reminds me of the stars that I watched when I was young.
@g12345 We are so happy to hear you enjoyed it! We definitely took inspiration from the star gazing as kids!
Some more initial hints would help, butt overall a great and unique game!
I finished the whole game. I really dig the art style and music. The stories were good too but since there was no particular order to finish the game, the stories felt unconnected. Also I would have loved to read them all again but it zoomed out for the grand view and exited to end screen. A few suggestions * The hint part could be improved, took me a while to figure out that the subtle tints at the edges refer to incomplete constellations * Also for many of us that don't know much about constellations, it would be cool if we could know where the constellations start or end or their order * Another thing is that it took me a while to figure out the mechanic so maybe you can add some hint or a tutorial for that in the future maybe. Overall great job guys, I really enjoyed myself playing the game getting lost in space with awesome music vibes. Would really love post jam release. :) Have a great day :)
Emotional and atmospheric performance! Pretty catchy story messages.
Some remarks: 1. Story message at the beginning disappeared too quickly. Expectation: more time to read or pressing a key to continue. 2. Hint once showed down direction when character was near bottom of space. 3. Looks like story message on last constellation is skipped before ending.
Good entry!
Very atmospheric game and music, but rules wasn't very clear and it was hard to understand how to play. Good game.
@gildar76 Thanks for the kind review! And duly noted about the hints... Our aim was to have players wander, but that can be a tricky thing for a game jam game!
@rajatg Thank you so much for all the feedback! Yeah, the last story is lost in the main game when you complete the constellations... The text was difficult to read on the final zoom out, but we will definitely fix that if we continue with it! Puzzle hints: good idea! We will take all of your suggestions into consideration if it goes into a post jam release!
@retrome Thanks a lot!! Duly noted on the read speed at the beginning (that's an easy fix!). That should not have happened so thanks for the bug report! hahaha Yeah, we will definitely add the text back in on the last zoom out if we work on it after LD48!
@jokubasg Thank you! Fixing the How to Play looks like it is at the top of your fix list!
Again, thank you all for playing our game and the great feedback. We really appreciate it!
I like the idea and the mood was nice, but echoing some other comments, I think the execution could be improved a bit. The main things for me were: - Guessing at the proper connections isn't really that fun; maybe if the name of the constellation showed up beforehand, that could help give the player some hint as to what shape they need to make? (Though, I know constellations often don't look like their name, so you'd probably have to be careful otherwise it might make things worse... just an idea.) - I don't really see what the size mechanic adds to the gameplay. For me, it made the connecting more frustrating because when a connection failed, there was no feedback as to whether I got the size wrong, or if it just wasn't a correct edge. So I had to go back between the same stars multiple times. And I found it pretty easy to lose track of which star size is which when the biggest one wasn't onscreen. I just felt like I didn't have a clear reference object to be able to tell how big a star really was. - I think the hint mechanic could just always be on? Having the stars glow a bit seems natural, anyway. - I wasn't able to connect the big blue stars. Not sure what they were about. Was hoping there might be some big payoff when the camera finally zoomed out.
All in all though, I think there's potential for a nice little touching game! I think if the gameplay is tightened up, then the story can really shine. Nice work!
