Great game! i just didn't finish because... err... i became stuck in the last loop,,, lol
Nice game! I really like games about programming! xD
@glayson @inefficientchunkofcode Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it! Was hoping to fit in a lot more but you know how it goes :P
Perfect idea to push the box to break the cycle of the program. I really like it.
Great game that is educational while still being fun. The mechanics and puzzles were engaging and anyone playing would be able to grasp how to break out of a while loop.
The only thing I wish this game had was a step back mechanic because the amount of times I accidentally hit the arrow key one too many times and got the tile stuck and had to restart the level, but that's more of a me issue. I had lots of fun with this one
I really like the use of red herrings and multiple solutions for these math based puzzles. Very clever and very Baba is You.
@xiyou Thanks much appreciated!
@layne-stokes Glad you liked it! I hear you about the step back mechanic. It was a stretch goal that didn't make the cut unfortunately (among many lol).
@colejparker Definitely inspired by Baba Is You! I'm glad you dig the puzzles - respect!
I really enjoyed this! Really nice take on an established gameplay concept well executed! Would definitely have enjoyed more levels if you'd had the time to make more! Congrats :grin:
Heh. Some treat for programmers. I liked it very much good job.
Very Nice. The level design is really good, I especially like the idea of comments stopping the blocks but not you. Music was really nice as well.
@foxlit Thanks! Yeah I was really hoping to have at least 5 levels besides the tutorial with 4 and 5 involving multiplication/division blocks.
@sli Thank you!
@daspikeyboss I appreciate that! Glad you liked the comment block mechanic
I'm not gonna re-say what is said in comments above, which I agree with. It is a nice game indeed. And it is even a bit more than that: it is a great and rare example of background, art and mechanics all three blending perfectly together (games usually manage just two of them to fit), you know, when you can guess what stuff does and doesn't even before trying them out. (Especially talking about the comment and break blocks here). Well done!
Some fun puzzle design that's very reminiscent of Baba Is You! I found I made a few mistakes due to bad planning or accidental input that caused me to redo the level - so I'm seconding the idea of an undo function if you develop this further!
@tino Thank you that's very kind!
@katherine-stark Thinking I should have called it Baba Is Loop haha :P Thanks for playing!
A pretty solid game. The intention of the puzzles are clear and the elements are easy to understand. I would really benefit from an undo button though since I accidentally pushed the blocks onto the wall or into the corner way too many times and had to start over every time it happened.
Great game! The design was really good and the mood really fitted the theme and the game. Well done! :smiley:
Well you certainly know your audience :smile: It's a nice puzzle game, I had a lot of fun trying to solve them! Good job!
It's absolutely great, i loved your game, nice job !
The combination of the theme with a game about programming is great! Simple graphics with the upbeat synth works really well and the puzzles were pleasantly unforgiving (being able to restart at the beginning of the level was much appreciated!). I had a lot of run playing it and I laughed a few times with the puzzles. Awesome job! Shout out from a fellow AB dev!!
@maychant Thanks! An undo button would definitely go a long way
@yolp900 @marc-antoine-girard @robin49 Much appreciated I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@gregoryblomquist Respect! 🙌
Such a clever concept and it's execution in a form of puzzle was very well made. I genuinely enjoyed every minute, well done
This is very creative game and usage of the theme. I have to agree with the aboves about the undo. Also, a multiple block push in front will be nice too especially player is dealing with many blocks to assign variables.
This such a fun use of the theme! Honestly you have a great coding teaching tool here very akin to Number Munchers. I like and I want more! Also shout out from AB Dev!
@zoomer Thank you!
@neithr Multiple block push is a great idea thanks for the suggestion!
@coryru Number Munchers haha damn it's been a while since that game crossed my mind. Thanks for the props - AB showing out for LD!
Does anyone happen to know you can opt out of a category post submission? I swear I remember doing that for a previous LD but I can't find that option anywhere. I didn't mean to be ranked in humor :P
skippable... you understand the needs of players! Really good idea and amazing soundtrack.
@asimov Thanks! I hate when you can't skip instructions :P
Cool game! My first impression was "dammit, I don't want to do math" lol But it gets really fun when you can look at the while loop, then look at the level and try to calculate what needs to happen before even pressing an input key. And these are pretty simple math problems, but there is potential here for these puzzles to go CRAZY with some more complicated math problems.
Like other's mentioned, an undo would be nice, because we'll know the solution at one of the last steps, but a whoopsie would force a full reset. Then setting everything else back up just becomes a chore. IT does make it more of a game though, because even when you know where the blocks need to go, you need to figure out HOW to get them there without messing it up. So either a limited "undo", or just a pull option would work. Maybe some levels just say "no-undo available". A few ways to play with that rule.
I muted the music, because I needed to concentrate, and the upbeat techno isn't MY kind of homework music lol But it is a good song!
My wife was watching me play, she's not a programmer or math person, so she checked out immediately, but this would be a GREAT educational tool that would fit perfectly in a classroom.
Audio and visuals could be stronger, but overall this a great game!
Good job!

@ismael-rodriguez Thanks for the detailed feedback! I couldn't agree more with the points you bring up. There is definitely a lot more I wanted to include and polish but I always find myself against the clock having to make cuts during these jams. Definitely aspiring to create submissions on par with your LD47 masterpiece. Next time ;P
@balance686 :blush: pfft, no masterpiece over there lol, it's just as rushed and incomplete as everyone else lol
You got a lot of potential with your game! For real, good job! Sell it to a school!
Awesome idea! I could totally see this concept being used in a classroom to introduce people to programming. The game itself was fun, but very challenging. Besides having to figure out the logic to break out of the loop, you also have to be very careful not to get a block stuck somewhere. An undo button (possibly limited-use and/or affecting your score) would make the game easier.
Overall great job, this is definitely one of my favorite entries!
@ale Thanks for the feedback! I like how we both approached the theme from a programming angle haha I enjoyed yours as well!
