I really like the idea and the overall gameplay is fun, however I had a big problem with the blurred fonts, it made me a little bit dizzy.

arthurddev 2020-10-05 22:40

Great game mechanics, would be a great game to create more levels, polish a bit and then sell it on play store or steam

ruruie 2020-10-05 22:41

This is, in fact, really good.

starcloud0621 2020-10-05 22:43

That was a very fun experience, and yes, it really did make me feel frustrated. The idea and creativity behind it was great. Keep up the great work!

kingofnova 2020-10-05 22:45

first of visuals very funky = nice. but my gosh volume my ears I physically took of my headset. Also for try to avoid edge in games unity no like edge physics.

ump over the wall make the wall higher to avoid this. though there was maybe a secret.

rucksack 2020-10-05 22:48

Nice aesthetics and a nice death sound :)

appoxgames 2020-10-05 22:49

Really fun and cool gameplay! Interesting mechanics that managed to hook me in and also have potential for using in more serious type of games. Well done!

odyze 2020-10-05 23:32

I really enjoyed playing, and the game mechanic really got potential :)

raniere 2020-10-06 01:07

I liked it, you can go further with it! :)

shaolin-dave 2020-10-06 06:24

I liked it, though I couldn't quite figure out how the ghosts were useful. I think I'll come back to this one when I'm more rested. Did you use a custom web player template?

christoph-kolb 2020-10-06 08:01

@shaolin-dave We're glad you liked the game! The ghosts are supposed to be used as platforms and to push down buttons to make the level easier. Also, we used GoDot Engine, which comes with this particular HTML5 template.

mikadoh 2020-10-06 08:02

I really liked this one, I always enjoy when you can use your clones for platforming. The graphics were especially nice and right up my alley.

int 2020-10-06 08:08

I like the idea a lot and the difficulity of the game. It would be better, if the difficulity didn't increase because of the weird jump physics. Also running on edges launches you in weird ways. Overall, good game!

mrmaico 2020-10-06 08:24

@int thank you for your feedback. The launching on the edges was actually a bug which we decided to keep; It made for some interesting speed running possibilities.

tamail 2020-10-06 08:40

Such a great idea! I really liked this type of helpers to get you through the level! Nice work! If only the main menu screen didn't make me sick a bit.

ryuk47 2020-10-06 09:12

Excellent implementation of ghost mechanics. I initially wanted to do something similar, but could not find a way to make the ghosts not overpowered. Limiting their time after the "final" position is a clever way of solving that.

louiejams 2020-10-06 10:28

Cute little idea of having previous lives help you to the next place! I found that the jump was already quite high and floaty (like a ghost!), so didn't use it too often. I did find towards the end of my playthrough that I got a little lost!

darcytimms 2020-10-06 17:04

Super pretty game, and I'm obviously a big fan of ghost loops hahah

coryru 2020-10-06 18:50

Not bad. I liked the ghost loop mechanic that this game has. Could use some work on the level design and character design but that improves through iteration. Keep at it this could be something great!

mrmaico 2020-10-06 19:05

@coryru thank you for the honest feedback. What exactly did you dislike about the level design? Was it the art, were they too easy or too hard? We are very grateful for feedback.

coryru 2020-10-06 19:13

@mrmaico Hey no problem! Keep in mind I did enjoy the game! I found the level design was generic and what you would expect from a ghost loop style game. Would like to have seen you take it in a new direction and also allow the level design its self add to the the narrative. Make it feel like I'm playing a ghost. I felt like all the levels were driving me up instead of letting the mechanics try out moving in different directions.

Again great work I just wanna see you take it further cause you have a really cool game here.

mrmaico 2020-10-06 19:17

@coryru Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. Let's see what we are going to do with this in the future.

szatku 2020-10-06 21:37

I'm enjoyed this game. Innovative platformer, with good concept of time. Realization is amazing (Idea, Graphic, Music, Mood). 5/5

wendel-scardua 2020-10-07 01:11

Loved the game, nice touch with the text scattered along the levels waiting to be found :)

I found a small bug: if you start a level, then return to the main menu without completing it, it still unlocks the next level. It doesn't really needs to be fixed for the jam, only if you were to expand this into a longer game in the future.

barelyevengames 2020-10-07 02:49

Very cool way of using the loop, and I liked that it interacted with your character very well. A few bugs, particularly where you could fly off into infinity and the increased acceleration when on the corner of a wall. Overall fantastic job!

honey-pony 2020-10-07 03:46

Pretty solid entry. The levels are all interesting enough--I think that jumping off of yourself in midair is a very interesting platforming idea.

I don't love that you lose all your progress if you touch a hazard. In my opinion this is rather annoying. For example, on the last level, I had collected everything but the particle across the lava bridge. It would be very annoying to have to re-do all of that just because I miscalculated when the bridge would be activated.

I also had a feeling that the platforming just feels a little off, but it took me some time to figure out why. I think there are a couple of small problems. One, I think, is just assigning up to jump--I think this might make it feel a little worse to control. The second is I think the gravity could be turned up--although this could be unfeasible due to the requirement of jumping off some of your guys. Finally, I think your player should have a little bit of horizontal acceleration / deceleration--it feels very weird to stop moving horizontally immediately after releasing an arrow key.

But, these problems are all minor enough. I had a good time beating all the levels and would have enjoyed playing a couple more.

finn-tr 2020-10-07 07:21

What a fantastic game! The concept was very cool and the level design is brilliant, I really enjoyed it! Nice work!

avavt 2020-10-07 11:31

Well it told me to capture screenshot so...

Screenshot_123.png

Anyway it's a pretty good game. The initial thought I have when I see a "space to timeloop" game was "Oh no not another mindf*** game", but turn out the difficulty was well done

The death on lava was quite punishing but you basically only die once at the first time you see lava, and the timing was appropriate (when it doesn't hurt that much) as an introduction, and later you knew there'd be lava before reaching that part, so it was acceptable I guess.

All in all I think the difficulty curve was the most well done part of the game. As for gameplay I'd love to have a moment of "Oh, I got it!". Right now I kind of just move around doing stuff and just get the reward, it lack a "stop and think" moment which usually an important moment in puzzle solving games.

jay-berlin 2020-10-07 12:09

Lots of fun to play. Great mechanics and the controls were smooth and responsive. Definitely pretty punishing having to restart the whole map if you die. Maybe needs some work on where checkpoints are located in a few levels so that you can restart from there if you hit a hazard but otherwise a really great game.

stefan-b 2020-10-07 14:06

Thanks for the warm feeback and suggestions @avavt! And gratulations for your highscore! yes, so we did move the emphasis on the puzzles more to the last levels, but also didn't want to over do it too much, and tried to keep it subtle. But definitely good point to dig more deeper in that direction.

food-lovers 2020-10-07 14:29

Very stylish game! I love you core mechanic, it's simple, but complex and all puzzles supercool! But if u added map on later levels(or any navigation to atoms), coz in later levels I've got frustrated and lost, coz I couldn't understand where atoms.

gautstafr 2020-10-07 18:36

Nice use of the concept and I like the flashy art. However, you should disable the pixelation filter on the text, as it hurts the eyes. Use an already pixelated font instead. The music is a bit too bleak in comparison to the nice and flashy visuals in my opinion, something more upbeat would fit the visuals better (also it doesn't loop correctly :/ ) Otherwise good entry :)

roikku 2020-10-07 22:48

Great art and effects! Cool use of theme.

shelvid 2020-10-07 22:57

Great simple platformer puzzle with great aesthetics!

mathemagician 2020-10-08 01:57

You've got the core of a fun little platformer here! I had kind of a tough time judging how high I needed to be to jump on my ghosts, and things generally felt a bit floaty. I like the character concept you've gone with here, but I found it a little tough to parse exactly what was going on in their sprite, maybe because of how it worked with the start black background?

oleksandr-shchavinskyi 2020-10-08 13:39

Awesome idea and great implementation. Probably, to going further need some limitation to be more puzzly. There was another one that has a similar idea but in 3D and with a few different mechanics "Get Over Yourself".

duke 2020-10-08 18:07

Cool stuff! Nothing too innovative but it fits theme well enough. The controls were a little floaty but that's to be expected from a ghost, isn't it? :P The art was a little jumbled and the pixel resolution was a tad distorted at times. That always damages the overall visual fidelity when dealing with a pixel art game. That's something you might wanna look into in your next game (IF it is a pixel game). The music was pretty reduced but worked for me. The riddles were well designed, it was hard to read the texts in the tutorial level though, especially the rotated ones. Using static textboxes works better but I guess this was done due to time constraints. The mechanics were so simple and intuitive that the tutorial wasn't really necessary for me after all.

Good entry all in all. Keep it up!

jhax 2020-10-08 18:16

Really well put together idea here. The last level in particular I found really satisfying trying to figure out exactly how to time everything.

eugenik 2020-10-09 02:34

wow this game is BADASS! love it!!

dxk2294 2020-10-09 08:40

That was great! Simple, but the level design and core mechanic really help to make this a really fun experience. Nice artystle as well!

javasaurus 2020-10-09 22:52

Heya! Thanks for submitting your game to my stream at [wwww.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus](www.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus). A great implementation of the loop theme, challenging puzzles that are fun to solve. Surely, if I wouldn't have been streaming, I'd have continued to play. The art and audio feel fresh and well selected, the puzzles ramp up nicely and any mistake made feels fair. Well done, recommend ! :)

msiddeek 2020-10-10 23:12

Really cool concept and nice execution! I love this so much!

eduardo-yukio 2020-10-12 08:59

This is a nice puzze platformer!

The player movement could be improved in some aspects though: it's too "floaty", the player takes too long to fall down, and when I push myself against a platform and jump, for some reason I jump very higher than normally. I managed to pass through level 2 without using a single ghost, just using that mechanic (as you can see on the image). a.png

The idea of using my clones as platforms is very interesting! And you guys managed to execute it very well. The level design is fun, I had to actually stop and think a little to elaborate a plan and when I executed and it worked, it was very satisfying.

On level 4 one of my ghosts pushed me against the ceiling and I got stuck there =P.

The audio cues are simple but effective: they let me know when a ghost pushed a button somewhere else.

Overall, it was a very fun experience!

matootsy 2020-10-12 20:10

Nice effects, nice simple pixel art (The design of the character is cool). With the platform on the heads you add a very good mechanic to the ghost system. It could be quickly a big funny mess with all the clones. Not too difficult. I just have some problems with some thin platforms hard to reach with missing jump-through. A bit polish on the LD and the movement, and it will be great! Congrat to the whole team!

stefan-b 2020-10-14 10:33

@eduardo-yukio yes we are aware of the "trick jumps", which we decided to intentionally keep in the game for speedrunners and possibilties to solve the puzzles in different ways. The idea is that typically you have more than one single "inteded" way, and it is up to you and your creativity or skills how to solve the puzzles

verbante 2020-10-14 16:12

I'd prefer if the ghost remained when you stay also curves on the wals could be used to increase vertical speed which was fun but sometimes render the ghosts unnecessary

coleslaughter 2020-10-18 20:51

[We played your game on stream this weekend!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/772739699?t=01h31m50s) Super sorry about forgetting to update the game name at the bottom of the screen, we're still a little new to this. :slight_frown: Also, we tend to go off on a lot of unrelated tangents, so apologies if we didn't talk about your game enough!

Overall, I really liked this one. It's one of the more ambitious "use your corpse as a platform" games I've seen for sure, since there's a lot more moving parts (using your replay as a platform must've been quite the ordeal to code). Perhaps consider the button beeping noise to only trigger when the currently alive character steps on it? Otherwise, I had quite a bit of fun with this one!

vphyre 2020-10-27 19:29

A very different and creative game. I like the mechanics of creating copies that mimic the player's previous movements. The graphics are good, and so is the music. The controls work perfectly, although sometimes I ended up confusing the skip button (w) with the loop button (space), but nothing that would hinder the experience in general. Good job.
