LD42 — Running out of space

Hitch Bird by Hjalte 2018-08-14T09:56:40Z

@matank You can activate the demon bird ability after you eat 10 bees, make sure to "tweet" with right click/B But that's pretty much it.

Hitch Bird by Hjalte 2018-08-14T10:33:05Z

@shozou I really wanted to animate the elephant, but I didn't really know how to, tried following a tutorial, but it didn't work out well, oh well. Maybe next time there will be all kinds of animated animals, and they'll all be dancing!

Hitch Bird by Hjalte 2018-08-17T08:04:24Z

@el-metallico really? that's strange, you should be able to just fly right into them and they automatically get eaten. But thanks for your feedback!

Pick up space toys! by panda 2018-08-14T09:16:24Z

Love it, the animations n stuff are great, and you managed to stitch the photos together really well. The ending made me laugh, first Ludum Dare game I beat so far.

TINY TOWNS by BearishMushroom 2018-08-14T16:39:49Z

Awesome game, one of the best I've seen so far, definitely put this on mobile. I will say that I did find the music to be a tad annoying, but that might just be me. The sound design is freaking awesome though

Escape 2600 by cenullum 2018-08-14T10:00:29Z

5/5

WeAreTheAntidote by Mowztouch 2018-08-14T16:27:50Z

Really like the idea, right now the game is a bit hard to play/understand, but I think if you developed it more it could be great! And some sound would be nice of course

I like how many Americas there area

Dumpotopia by DjeyCreations 2018-08-14T16:54:35Z

One of the most polished looking games I've seen so far, lots of detail, some audio/visual feedback as mentioned by others would be nice, during the boss fight I wasn't really sure what to do either, I wasn't sure if I had to attack him or just wait

Fantastic work!

Feed Us by El-Metallico 2018-08-14T08:53:03Z

Not really sure how to play it, but the music and art direction is great!

Slow Access Memory by Odin 2018-08-14T09:51:24Z

Cool concept. Couldn't figure out how to win the level though. The graphics and sound design were amazing!

Will Survive by foxserranu 2018-08-14T09:26:25Z

Really nice pixel art, not going to go on about the gameplay since everyone else has already commented on that. The amazing intro animation makes up for it though!

Dogs on the Bed by Sharky3188 2018-08-14T16:13:33Z

Really cute game! the dogs and environment are really well done, though the black dog looks a little... dead, I think because of the Charcoal color, at first I thought it was a frozen dog. try making the color a bit more bluish so it looks like a real living dog, it's a small detail but it was just something I noticed.

Stuck! by chkkll 2018-08-14T09:40:26Z

The lighting through the windows is FreakiN' AWESOME!1! Gameplay was cool and gave me vivid flashbacks of my time in Tokyo, although a bit samey.. but I guess a real train isn't the most fun gameplay-wise either. Oh and the music is superb

Body Hiding Simulator 1995 by incinious 2018-08-14T10:11:52Z

wHY ARE all the men coming to my house! Under United States law you should be able to murder any trespassers right? so I'll be safe in a court of law.

On the real though, top-tier voice acting, awesome idea, the ragdoll physics reminded me of TES: Oblivion.

Greedy Guts by Slojanko 2018-08-14T09:04:35Z

Great idea, the effects like the green fog and shield look great! the music is a bit too loud though in comparison to the sound effects

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Stuck In Paris by CocaPasteque 2020-10-08T21:35:38Z

Brilliant game, but not enough French swearing haha. I really wish that the acceleration wasn't toggleable, and instead accelerated on hold, like in any other game. Other than, it's one of the best games I've played so far this jam. I made it to level 10!

Colorful Memories by Ayxs 2020-10-08T20:51:41Z

The music was nice and the warping effect played in excellent harmony with the theme. Good entry!

Golem Quest by celia14 2020-10-06T11:15:48Z

Really cute game, the art is very nice and I love the purple hue, and the gameplay concept is quite good, though I was a bit confused as to how it worked, at first. I also wish the Golem would perhaps move a little faster and not stand still when it's done with a command. It was a little tedious waiting for it on Level II, otherwise great job :)

Test Subject by ThiefViolinist 2020-10-08T20:00:33Z

The concept is great, but if I'm perfectly honest, the execution needs a lot of work. The audio is way too loud, and I have no idea what the A.I is saying, you should have used a better text-to-speech machine, or voice acted it yourself. Also what's going on with the crosshair? It's all over the place. Otherwise I like the art, and the robot design is cool. With some polish it will definitely be a great game :)

CALVARYVM by manusaiz 2020-10-08T21:10:12Z

Cool game, I liked playing it. My biggest gripe is that you move frustatingly slow, it would be better to increase the movement speed and 1: either make the hammers further apart or 2: make the timer lower.

I'm unsure how much of the level you created yourself, so I think you should add that in the description, so that I can properly rate it with that in mind. :) Otherwise pretty cool entry

Samsara Safari by jelch 2020-10-06T11:44:39Z

I like the early 2000's aesthetic. The soundtrack was good but the distorted bass was a little grating. Nice entry :)

Loop Guy by LarrySeinfeld 2020-10-06T11:37:59Z

This is the best thing I've played so far haha, 10/10 story, 10/10 soundtrack. No joke, I'd actually play a full game with a soundtrack and sound effects similar to this. The capitulating moment at the end of the song with the clapping made me smile.

While the level design has some good ideas, it has some issues, and I was confused on where to go a lot of the time. I was surprised at the length of the game, and I'm not even sure I made it to the end? I was at the street level, but where were you supposed to go?

Also, the revolving door was perhaps a tad too deadly haha.

Great entry! Although my back hurts now.

Bad Commute by Alec-Asperslag 2020-10-06T10:47:07Z

Very cool and spooky little game, the atmosphere is great and the use of post-processing is great.

N/A by Antibastian 2020-10-06T10:55:07Z

This is really nice, I just wish it was longer. The art, although very simplistic, is quite pleasing to look at, and I love the different colours for each level. Great entry!

Chronophobia by Valkija 2020-10-06T12:20:54Z

These visuals are great, the lightning effect is superb as well, reminds me of Dishonored somewhat. Cool entry!

Beelieve by Diego Teran 2020-10-06T10:49:23Z

Great concept! very nice art and main menu <3

Stuck in a Timeloop by Stefan B. 2020-10-07T18:36:10Z

Nice use of the concept and I like the flashy art. However, you should disable the pixelation filter on the text, as it hurts the eyes. Use an already pixelated font instead. The music is a bit too bleak in comparison to the nice and flashy visuals in my opinion, something more upbeat would fit the visuals better (also it doesn't loop correctly :/ ) Otherwise good entry :)

Stuck in a rabbit hole by etonastya 2020-10-08T20:57:13Z

The art is super nice, although the animations didn't really properly work well with the attack, as I had a hard time seeing where I was hitting. I do like the idea of being Alice on the way to Wonderland though :) Cool entry!

Adam - Now in 3D by hjeldin 2020-10-07T18:27:16Z

Cool little game, the music is pretty nice and fits well into the outer space atmosphere. I like the concept.

Aztec Ride by Idan Rooze 2020-10-08T21:21:00Z

This is awesome, great music, visual style and gameplay. I wish the camera was more zoomed in on the cart though, and I think the game needs anti-aliasing and thicker lines or something, I was feeling a lot of eye-strain while playing it.

Something to Tell You by Blind Lemon Games 2020-10-08T20:34:59Z

Really cool and creative experience. The singing was beautiful and added to the overall experience, although I'm not sure what the story meant or symbolised, but as far as I gathered, my American accent son didn't like me very much :( but at least my non-american accent children seemed to like me :)

I also liked the subtle addition of the hand sanitizer in the beginning, very à la mode.

When the ghosting effect hit during the dream sequence, together with the slowed down audio, I thought my pc was crashing or something. Which was really quite brilliant.

However, as others have also said, I'm not a big fan of the low sensitivity and inverted controls, as well as the incredibly low FOV in the first two scenes, which made me feel quite motionsick. The dream/coma effects could also have been done better imo, as they felt more like random textures, splattered everywhere, instead of a trippy sequence. Lastly, I felt like there wasn't much game to it, as there were barely any interactable objects, so it felt more like a slightly interactive movie than a game, to be honest.

Sorry, if I come off a bit harsh, it's not my intent, as I genuinely do like the game, I just think it needs a bit more polish :) Great entry!

PS: I think slightly low sensitivity could work for the bed scenes, as that makes sense, look at MGSV's intro for inspiration there.
